The app is really good, however to get this with Royal Mail you need the Premium and Enterprise plans. Sadly given the size of our store, this would make this Shopify add-on too costly to oconsider these plans. That said the app looks fab and has a lot of capability I am sure

After 5 years as a customer, we are done recommending AfterShip. Our custom domains for both the returns portal and tracking page stopped working. We contacted support immediately and spent three months going back and forth with no real answer. After three months, they finally told us the feature had been quietly moved to the Enterprise plan, no notification, no warning, nothing. Our customers could not track their orders for this entire period. AfterShip removes features from existing plans without telling customers, then sells the upgrade as the only fix. That is not how you treat long-term customers. We would not recommend this platform to any brand that takes its post-purchase experience seriously.

We're a sizeable D2C brand selling globally across 36 markets. Been on AfterShip for tracking for 4+ years. Hands down one of the worst vendor relationships we've had. BILLING TRAPS We started on a smaller tier when the business was smaller. As we scaled, AfterShip quietly racked up ~$30k in overage charges over the years. Nobody from their team ever reached out — no flag, no plan change suggestion, nothing. Their billing runs on their own platform, not through Shopify, so unless you're manually auditing their invoices you won't even notice. Any decent vendor would proactively right-size your account. AfterShip just kept collecting. SUPER SALES PITCHY - ALWAYS TRING TO UPSELL INSTEAD OF HELPING To give you an idea of how bad their after sales service is after we upgraded to their Pro tier to avoid the overages ($5-7k/year), we asked for a proper technical audit — someone to review our setup, QA our config, make sure we're using the high-ROI features. Instead we got a 1.5 hour pitch for their returns product and even higher tiers. When we asked for an actual technical call, they said we'd need to upgrade again to get that level of support. We've spent $40k+ with this company and they won't even help us use the product properly. BOTTOM LINE AfterShip treats growing brands as cash cows, not partners.We are in the process of switching away and exploring ParcelWILL, TrackingMore, or LateShipment.com. I recommend checking these 3 (our research landed us here) for better pricing transparency, comparable carrier coverage, and you won't get nickel-and-dimed with hidden overages for years on end. Save yourself a very expensive lesson.

Worst experience I've ever had with any app. I've never left a 1-star review. But if you advertise with "$1 for the first month" on the front end, then charge $457 in usage charges during that same month, and then make the entire process to reverse it a huge pain it just feels like a setup. I've presented them with this fact as well: the literal reply from the customer service rep was "I'm not denying anything here". I either don't get billed or I charge back, simple.

Asmita has been very patient and kind to guide me through the proper fixing of the broken Aftership url link of my store and I greatly appreciate it. However, screenshots (that were meant to guide me) sent by both agents through the chat were blurry and pixelated though. Hope the company could look into affixing this. Also, it would have been perfect if agent could offer to fix it for us. App could be finetuned by introducing more postal options to track such as Royal Mail UK and etc as it does not show the tracking when Royal Mail is selected but shows up when Singapore Post is selected as the tracking company.

Extremely disappointed. I discovered that AfterShip has been overcharging me for months. When I contacted support to rectify this clear error, they refused to issue a refund. Be very careful and check your invoices, as their billing practices are unreliable and their customer support is unhelpful when it comes to getting your money back. I cannot recommend them.

They make it very difficult to cancel, we had a subscription and there was no way to cancel. When I went to cancel it the 3rd time it sent me to a chatbot who said 'i cannot help you with this let me send to a human agent'... dont companies legally have to make it simple to cancel subscriptions?

I am extremely disappointed with this app's billing practices. Despite uninstalling it before the trial period ended, I was still charged. I've now contacted support twice to request a refund, explaining that I wasn't using the app and that it was uninstalled well before the charge was incurred. Unfortunately, my requests have not yet been resolved. Being charged for an app I wasn't even using during a supposed 'trial' period is unacceptable. I would advise others to be very cautious about signing up for this app, as you may be charged even if you don't continue using it after uninstalling. This has been a frustrating experience, and I cannot recommend this app based on their billing practices and lack of timely resolution.

Updated: 2025-07-11 Every useful custom feature requires a premium subscription, with real flexibility only available on the $239/month plan. For a new or small store, the entry plan is $11/month, but most customisation is locked behind the premium tier. The duplicate cookie banner was the final straw. At this price point, I’d expect far more control and value. Customer service was generally responsive and polite, both during regular use and when I decided to leave –they answered my queries and followed up until the cancellation was fully processed. During the cancellation process, I was offered a 50% discount for three months, but you have to confirm cancellation several times and are forced to provide a reason just to proceed. Even after all that, you cannot actually delete your account until your paid plan expires (in my case, almost a month later). If you want to delete it immediately, you have to chase support. This feels needlessly obstructive and unfriendly to users who wish to leave. The business model screams, “We’ll get one big customer rather than twenty happy small ones.”

If you're looking for a straightforward tracking app that supports a variety of carriers, look elsewhere. We invested time and effort into integrating AfterShip's tracking pages and notifications, only to discover a critical limitation: many carriers are only supported under their Premium plan, which starts at $239/month. This crucial detail is not disclosed on their plan pricing page, which feels deceptive. In the logistics world, carriers can change frequently due to shifting global dynamics. Having access to a wide range of carriers shouldn’t be a gated feature. AfterShip’s approach means you're eventually forced into an expensive upgrade, even if you started with the assumption that all carriers would be supported. When we reached out to their support team to explain the situation and pointed out the lack of transparency, we were met with zero empathy or viable solutions—just a push toward the Premium plan. It’s disappointing to hit a paywall on such a basic and essential feature, especially without prior warning. Until we find a more transparent and reliable alternative, we’re reluctantly going to Premium. But we definitely wouldn’t have chosen AfterShip had we known about this hidden restriction.

Pointless app. All it does is show a blank screen, no information and customer service does not help. Was looking for a replacement and this was reccomended but no idea why. Also, when the entire sidebar of a main app is just redirecting you to all the other paid items it is really annoying when looking for a simple tracking app. Might be good to some but this app has done absolutly 0 for us an no customer service help. We are not even able to cancel a subscription as anything on the back end is a blank screen. Not a cache issue, browser issue, etc, Good luck yall.

Just subscribed to the Essentials plan (which already feels overpriced), but I needed it for DAO updates. Now they're asking for an extra €60 just for the carrier masking feature — which is essential for dropshippers who want to hide shipments from China. On top of that, the support is really poor. Overall, super expensive compared to other providers like ParcelPanel.

Installed app and instead of using the free trial I paid a year in advance. Bad move. Kept getting free trial offers and request for a training session from multiple people. Never could get SMS to work. I had a training session scheduled that both of the conflicting support departments missed. I scheduled another but ran out of steam and decided to remove the app. Unfortunately, no refund from the folks, so all I can do is share my story. Follow-up: The follow-up is as bad as the original customer service experience. I don't believe anyone reads the responses.

This is a fraudulent company, please be aware that this app does not debit payments through Shopify, but rather binds credit card payments in the app; and you cannot find the unsubscribe window when you open the app through Shopify. After I uninstalled it, it also deducted over 5 months in a row, looked for customer service, got a link to cancel the subscription, and even went so far as to ask me to take away a month's worth of fees, so beware of this app stealing our money.

This is an absolute joke. The links that are sent out in the trial period only are based on the Premium plan. As soon as the trial period is over those links stop working and your customers get sent to a page that says if you want to track your order click here. Then they get to a tracking page on a subdomain of Aftership where they have to fill out the form again. here is the funny thing. The plan that supports those links is 240 Euros/Month. So you either pay for that or you have a bunch of customers left with a broken tracking link. On top of that the UX is horrible. I use so many different software all the time, so I usually find what I look for fairly quickly, but here it takes forever to find what you are looking for, options that are not clearly explained with no help text or anything. Support sucks balls and just closes tickets which sends you to a bot again and again and again. I understand, every software gives trials of premium features to increase customer LTV, but giving out features in the trial period that completely stops working unless you purchase the highest plan AND directly effect customers is ridiculous. Now I have a bunch of customers with broken links unless I upgrade to a 240 Euros plan. SMH. Funny thing is, tracking links is literally to most basic feature a tracking app should offer... I used Aftership for all my stores between 2017 and 2020 and wanted to implement it again, but as of 2024 its not recommended at all.

In terms of AfterShip itself, might not be the most reflective of your business by itself. But better compatibility with Shopify would be great, in terms of starting a premium plan, which can only be done by the store-owner. Might be a better feature to have when other employees are given admin rights, that they would also be able to start the premium trial themselves, instead of having to bother the CEO with mundane tasks such as this. In terms of Customer Support, I would like to point out the Garvita was amazing. Although I was a bit frustrated and gave her a hard time, she stayed professional and tried to help me as much as she could. Albeit, she was not able to help me further, due to Shopify being the problem apparently, she directed me in the right direction.

Worst Customer Service Experience – Avoid AfterShip at All Costs! If I could give AfterShip zero stars, I would. This has been, without a doubt, the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had with any company. I’ve been waiting for over three days for them to fix a SIMPLE issue, and all I get are empty promises and vague excuses about how they’re 'working on it.' Spoiler alert: they’re NOT. The sheer lack of urgency and professionalism is staggering. It’s obvious they don’t care about their customers or resolving issues in a timely manner. They just keep stringing me along with no real solutions, wasting my time and making me regret ever trusting them with my business. If you value your sanity, do yourself a favor and stay far, FAR away from AfterShip. This company is a joke and a complete waste of time. I’ll be looking for a more reliable alternative immediately. Premium is really overpriced. I did premium purely for the custom tracking domain, but majority of the premium features you need to spend a few thousand a month for Shopify Plus to use. The auto-guessing the carrier with premium is almost always wrong. Every day I have to manually assign the carrier to the shipments. Glitches keep happening where it looks like packages are all in one package when there are multiple packages, so I get angry emails from customers demanding refunds when only one item arrives. It keeps importing tracking numbers twice. It also isn't fair that they will only let premium have a custom domain. My Apple and PC devices won't load the AfterShip link because it thinks its spam. I downgraded from the premium $239 a month down to the $59 plan. When you pay that much for an app every month, you expect it to work smoothly. $59 is all its worth to me.

Expensive, but worth the money. My store has had a lot of customer issues with China shipping tracking because some of my store is dropshipped and tracking numbers often change before going into transit. Shopify's built in tracking created a whole mess of customer issues for me sending only one tracking number, but AfterShip has solved all those issues. It integrates with Cainiao so customers can get tracking updates finally. I love that customers can see every package in their order all on one page. Customers are excited about this massive order tracking upgrade too. Having a custom domain helps create a new level of professionalism to my store, and it's much easier to refer people to that link than the weird AfterShip link. It took me 3 days to figure out every little detail on how to use it, but I am glad I made the upgrade to Premium. Well worth it.
