I am testing this app out and needed support to be sure I the items were being locked/protected correctly. The customer service rep (Chloe) through the chat was so helpful and patient while I worked to navigate how I wanted everything set up! I cannot attest to long term use yet, but I will be starting to use it over the next month.

The locks look like they work, but they do not actually protect anything. We learned this the hard way. We locked a private collection. When we added inventory, people with no access checked out and bought the locked products. After we complained, support pointed us to a separate "checkout lock" feature we were never told we needed. So the product lock hides pages but does not stop purchases. That should be in bold on the app listing. The hiding does not work either, at least on our theme (Concept, a paid theme from the Shopify Theme Store). The app has no selector mapping for it, so locked products stayed fully visible on collection pages and search. Support did not know this. We had to dig into their script ourselves, find the missing theme mapping, and send them the exact selectors to fix it. Worst of all, the app created a publicly reachable search template on our store that returns raw JSON with SKUs and live inventory quantities for every product, including locked ones. A scraper site used it to detect our private restock and broadcast it. The app meant to keep products private is what leaked them. Support was polite but circular: repeated requests for admin access and collaborator codes, tickets closed prematurely, and blame pointed at our store settings. We diagnosed the root cause ourselves and patched our own theme code while waiting. If you need locks that actually restrict buying, or you sell anything where privacy matters, this app is not safe to rely on as configured out of the box.

It's a wonder how this app got so many positive ratings. I had to uninstall the app, and I asked helpdesk if there is any codes to uninstall before deleting the app. She said no, and asked me to go ahead to delete the app. I later found remnant liquid codes. Approached helpdesk for clarification. Reaction I got was, "oh just go ahead to delete the liquid file too". Such casual attitude in answering customer queries. What if I am not tech savvy? Is there any other files or code in other files that need deleting? With such careless attitude, it might be good to think twice about this app.

I had a problem with setting up a lock and it happened to be on a weekend. Joanna quickly got my problem report to the developers but I didn't expect my problem to be fixed until Monday. The Sami B2B Lock, Password Protect app is a very nice add-on for Shopify users. Shopify lacks such an important feature where if you have some products on pre-order, you don't want the public access to them before the pre-order date but perhaps a certain customer group such as VIP members. The Sami B2B Lock, Password Protect app is the great solution to this and perfectly works for my application. While there is one item I wish they could address would be to allow the locked product's placeholder to be clickable for the user to access the locked page. But as a workaround, I'll include the link to the protected product in an e-mail and share the password to the customer group. Haley from Samita is awesome! She went above and beyond to customize the app to match my theme's fonts and colors and replaced the standard lock image, with one that matches my products. Also when the Sami B2B Lock changed the interface, it had a bug but Haley quickly reached out to her developer to fix it. Many thanks to Haley and cheers to the Samita support and development teams! Shopify's awful AI could use more humans on their Support Team especially needing more talent like Haley! Thank you again!

The locks barely ever work out of the box. There is always some component that doesn't work correctly, so customers can find ways around the locks. When you contact customer support, they will first not believe you and act annoyed, give snarky answers, and be rude. Stay away if you can.

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel I have to warn other merchants about this app. After installing Sami B2B Lock, my store layout and functions became a total mess. Pages that used to load perfectly suddenly started breaking — some were locked incorrectly, and others that should have been private became visible to everyone. Even worse, the app interfered with my theme code and scripts, which caused several of my custom features to stop working. It took me hours to figure out that this app was the cause of the problems. When I uninstalled it, it left behind a lot of messy code and settings that I had to clean up manually. Because of this, my store looked broken for hours, and I lost both traffic and sales. The support team was slow to respond and didn’t provide any real solution — they just kept saying “we’re looking into it.” This app might sound useful in theory, but in practice, it’s unstable and poorly developed. I strongly advise others to stay away from this app unless you want to risk your store’s functionality and reputation.

This is the best app to lock products. I used this to lock some products available only to my subscribers and it totally worked, not only helped me to showcase the Membership Exclusive products without showing the price tag, but to remove the add to cart option. A nice to have feature could be to allow the add to cart option but display the modal when the client doesn't have a tag. This will increase the urgency or the exclusivity in my store. But for now, so far so good.

I just started testing this app for my store, mainly to lock a page for B2B. After a little time getting used to the menus, I was able to set it up with the “unlock for specific customers” and "passcode" option. The app works, but I did notice a few rough edges—some of the language and grammar needed tweaking, and I wish there were more built-in style customization options. For example, adjusting icons, typefaces, or logo images directly through the interface would save time instead of relying on support. That said, customer service was excellent. Haley helped me out quickly, adding custom code on their end to match the styling with my store’s branding. She was very responsive, and the issue was resolved smoothly.

The Sami B2B Lock app has been excellent for managing our wholesale pricing. It allows us to hide prices entirely and make them visible only to our approved B2B clients. On top of that, we can control the “Add to Cart” button, so only our selected B2B clients can purchase items. Setup was straightforward, and it integrates smoothly with our Shopify store. Support has been hands-on and very reactive, which has been a real help.

I honestly felt like giving up before I'd even really started. Setting up the lock system was very overwhelming for me, as it was so different from what I’m used to and I’m not a very technical person. Easy install and set up. Ran into an issue with my theme where it locked the Add to Cart and Price in certain views (like Quick Buy and on the Collections page) but still showed up on the product page. Customer Service was super fast in responding and working on the problem. It took a few tries for our theme to cooperate but they kept at it until it was fixed. I can't say enough about how valuable it is to have a team that jumps right on an issue so that you can get up and running quickly. This is the second app we've installed from Samita and continue to be pleased with the simplicity of their products without giving up functionality.
