After initial issues of my own misunderstanding the app seems to be running well and working. Hopes this stops some chargebacks I incurred in the last month. It's sad we must use software to protect our own interests but that's the world we live in I guess. Recommend the App for anyone selling on a e-commerce platform.

We were with another app that was supposed to help block bots, and they were charging $139/month. For the top level on this app, it's that per year. Plus WAY BETTER customer service. They were live. The other app couldn't get us a response until the next day. We were having issues with bots placing hundreds of orders every day. Some of the settings weren't preventing this, so I chatted in. Their devs got on it, and we haven't had a bot order since. Well worth the money.

I installed this app specifically to stop repeated fraudulent orders from the same person, who keeps using a VPN/proxy to get around blocks. I added their exact full name and their shipping address to the blocklist, expecting checkout to be stopped that is the entire point of the app. It didn't work. Today another order came through from the exact same blocked name and the exact same blocked address. So the core feature — blocking a checkout based on the rules I set — is clearly not reliable. If the blocklist can't even catch an identical full name and address that I manually entered, I don't see what I'm paying for. I'd think twice before relying on this for any real fraud prevention.

Doesnt work. I have the country blocker on and set to China, and my number one visitor but a massive margin is, China. Obviously this app doesnt work as described. I thought it used to work when I got it a while back, but at some point, it stopped and my intellectual property is likely being stolen as I never have any orders come from China. There are other apps that Im working with now that seem to actually work, and cost less.

Setting up the blocker to block all non-US countries was super easy! That was my main goal. I continued to work on chat with the rep asking him to help me enable absolutely everything else I need and he did just that! Then ran a test to show me that the app was working just as I wanted. I'm still in the free trial but see no reason not to continue with it after the trial is over!

You actually get support to help walk you thru the set up. I am in Canada and did not have to get up in the middle of the night to try to get support. Can't give a 5 star review for the app in general, because i have only used it a few days. Would have liked to see explanations of what each of the block options does. Was impressed there is a block email, but seems you have to type in each specific email addy you want to block. Would love to see a block on types of email. ie. Block if the message says the person has analyzed my website and wants a commission to bring in more customers.

Super helpful customer support. Our store had been targeted with fraudulent orders and had to get this app set up quickly. Late in the evening I was able to chat with Lynn, who walked me through which features would be the best to address our specific needs. She was helpful in providing timely responses. By 9pm that night, the app was up and running and have not received any fraud orders in the past couple of days.

I genuinely didn’t want to leave a negative review, but this experience has left me no choice. I installed the app on November 6th to block bot traffic from China using VPNs—specifically from the US and Seychelles. Initially, everything seemed to work fine. However, by November 9th, I noticed Seychelles appearing in my abandoned checkouts, which was strange given that I had blocked the country. All other blocked countries were showing as successfully blocked, except for Seychelles. I contacted support immediately. A developer responded, explaining, "we are actively investigating an issue on our end where blocked visitors are indeed getting blocked, but their abandoned checkout is still getting mistakenly logged by Shopify as an abandoned checkout because they are still at checkout, getting blocked. We are actively working on a fix that should be deployed shortly for that problem." The response did not make much sense to me since all other blocked countries were being blocked by their app. They also advised I enable Shopify’s email verification at checkout—knowing it might deter genuine customers. Despite this, the issue persisted. The bots began using valid, generic email addresses. I followed up again and was asked to grant store access to the dev team, which I did and confirmed. It’s now been three business days with no update. Meanwhile, the Seychelles bot continues to create abandoned checkouts, skewing my store analytics. Support is reading my messages but choosing not to respond. I can only assume they’re struggling to resolve the issue and don’t have a fix. Still, a status update—even if it’s not a solution—would be appreciated. I’ll wait another 24 hours for a response. If I don’t hear back, I’ll initiate a chargeback for the amount paid and delete the app while I search for a more reliable and consistent alternative. Update: They contacted me on 22nd November to address the issue, and I was informed that testing was underway to resolve it. I have waited patiently, but my patience has now worn thin. The aggressive bot traffic originating from China has severely disrupted my analytics. Over the past seven days alone, we have recorded more than a thousand visits from China, which is clearly reflected in Google Analytics. If these bots are truly being blocked, why has the activity not ceased? At this point, the app has failed to deliver on its promised functionality. Update: The developer reached out to explain the constraints they have in trying to block these bots from the checkout, which I found acceptable and thus my edited review.

There was a China bot that was on my store website at almost all times for nearly 24 hours, so I downloaded this app to block China and after a couple of days no more China bot visitors. I also blocked Russia and Nigeria since that is where a lot of these attempted bot orders come from. I don't believe the "total country blocks" number because I think it's heavily inflated, but it does obviously work. In the end though, $10 a month or $60 a year is really expensive just to block 3 countries. All I need is the country blocker. There should be a cheaper plan option just for that one feature.

With Blocky we're able to quickly identify and block the source of suspect traffic spike/bot anomalies, and the occasional scammer gambit. Blocky hums along in the background without issues, greatly valued by those of us who have neither the time nor the resources to be constantly monitoring or finessing finicky apps. I've had some strange fraud issues on my website over the past few years and I've been happy with the features of Blocky. I only sell to US and Canada, so I am able to block visitors from all other countries. I'm also able to block individual users, which I never had to use until recently. I would recommend. I haven't had any tech issues with it at all and I think I've had it for 2 years now.

It's easy to understand and to set up. Be prepared that you will need to educate your customers if they get caught by the blockers due to their personal computers being compromised or if they use VPNs. Much of our custom "you've been blocked" page is about why they've been blocked. I know we've lost a few customers over this - some are willing to give up their IP numbers to whitelist them, others think we're overdoing it on security. There are a very specific improvement I'd like to see: 1- ability to better style the blocked message; it needs margins and the ability to make it fit with our branding. It is not professional looking right now.

I am questioning if this works. I have all countries besides US blocked and also VPN blocked becaue I was getting alot of fake email subscribers. Well now I am getting many successful and unsuccessful orders from these blocked countries. It is obvious they are running credit cards to see which work and some of the orders go through and some are declined. When checking the transaction gateway details in the Shopify order page, it shows the country the order was placed from (Russia, Malaysia, Algeria, etc). I then have to cancel these fraudulent orders however I still have to pay the credit card processing fees as those are non-refundable. Therefore, Blocky is not doing it's job at blocking these countries. Perhaps the bots used are too fast for the Blocky app to trigger a block. I have contacted customer support and was told the development team would get back to me and they never did. So I will be cancelling.

I manually track and investigate traffic activity when customers download freebies from my site to weed out bots. When I first installed the app I quickly began blocking bot IP addresses and yesterday an IP that I thought was blocked was able to get through and download another free product. The blocker DID NOT DO ITS JOB. if you use this software make sure you manually track and investigate customer profiles. Btw, the software isn't very effective if you're not getting the Pro Plan, you're pretty much forced to get it.

I installed Blocky because I kept receiving unwanted solicitations for SEO/digital marketing/website development/Shopify expert services. I recently contacted Shopify support about this very issue, and they were unable to help me. It really, really irritated me that these people were auditing my site and getting glimpses into my site traffic, sales reports, and other data that I consider sensitive and rather personal. I don't know about you, but I don't like people poking around in my business unless I specifically invite them to, and these people were definitely NOT invited. Since I installed Blocky and blocked certain countries and regions, I have not gotten a single solicitation email. Not a single one. I looked at my reports, and Blocky has -- to date -- performed 310 Country Blocks & Redirects, 103 IP Blocks, and 472 Proxy & VPN Blocks. So the app is working, and doing exactly what I wanted it to do. Thank you, Haseeb and the dev team, for coming up with this great solution to my unique problem. Great app to block problem customers and/or problem areas. Over the years we have had some unsavory characters visit our website either trying to inject malicious scripts or trying to commit fraudulent activity. Lately, in Shopify, we've had a few customers that just like placing orders and then either cancel or not following through with payment. This can cost a small fortune in merchant fees as well as time and aggravation. With the Blocky app, we were able to not just cancel orders but prevent them from happening in the first place. I decided to try this App on our website because we were showing a lot of daily visits from one particular place in one particular country that we do not ship to. I'm talking over half of our daily website visits was from the one place. It was super easy to install and just turn it on through our theme settings, and the settings on the app itself were simple and very self explanatory. After installing it we did get a few more visits which showed as blocked on the app's analytics, and then after that no more views from there so I would have to assume since they were getting blocked they finally gave up. We blocked more countries we don't sell to and saw the same thing, few visits, then it stopped. That's exactly what we were looking for and the added bonus of being able to turn on right click photo save blocker is plus.

Blocky: Fraud Country Blocker does it's job well. My store is a couple of months old and since I started creating it I have had issues with hackers trying to take down my Shopify store. My husband works in IT and recommend this app. Blocky: Fraud Country Blocker is really doing it's job. We installed this app to help us with unwanted fraudulent transactions and also phishing emails from scammers and fraudsters. It has reduced drastically since installed. It works great so far. We can block entire countries and IP addresses from past fraudulent people. It has a whitelist in case you want to add specific customers to that list not to be blocked. You can also block Bots and VPN's that are known to be suspicious. You just need to activate the feature. As for the country block feature, you can add or remove as many countries as you wish. Help support answered our concern quickly, and we hope this app continues helping us by avoiding these unwanted fraudulent people.

I noticed that one of my top referrers to my website was a store entirely in Chinese. I also only ship to US and Canada. I was using ClickCease before and hated it. Love this app, simple, straight forward, does what needs to be done. No code to change, nothing to upload, just register and watch the results. FYI, tested ClickCease and many others with VPN and they never blocked me, Blocky got me every time, it did let me get to my homepage but never let me get further. UPDATE: After I posted this, within 24 hours I started having trouble with editing my site in the customize section of my theme. I noticed injected JS from this company and recorded video that showed when turned off everything worked again. I will be sending this info to shopify regarding this highly illegal manipulation to negative reviews. I wanted to try this app and waiting for a reply back from the developer. At present it does NOT work. I've blocked IP addresses, including my own, blocked countries, and other users I know to help test.
