No matter what we try, we can't get this to work. It does not recognize the URL of our WordPress blog whether we use the main blog listing page, a category page or an actual post. I have submitted two support requests to the provider and have received no response.

This app was really buggy for me and didn't work on Safari. At first it only imported 10 articles, but after contacting support they told me to change some default settings in Wordpress and it was able to import all my articles. It's too bad those setting changes weren't in the instructions. It was a nailbiter, because I only had 72 hour window that I had to pay up-front with the app and the support case took a day or two, although support was pleasant to work with. None of the imported articles have any pictures even though Wordpress hosts them all, so I don't fully get why I would want this app at all.

I've been using this app for years now and it works brilliantly. On top of that the Customer Service and Technical team are amazing. They answer queries and rectify glitches very quickly. I stopped blogging for a while. But as soon as I restarted I made sure I re-installed this app first. Brilliant app and team!!!

Needed an app to transfer my Wordpress blog over to Shopify and they have a great one-time option just for transferring. Exactly what I needed. Had trouble when I could only import 10 posts so I thought it was limited in the app. They followed up with me completely unprompted and helped me solve the issue (which ended up being my RSS settings on Wordpress) Great app and great customer service. Imported the blog posts easily enough, but doesn't provide any facility to import images from them. As a result, if you're migrating from the old blog you need to manually go through each post and manually upload each image to Shopify - which sort of defeats the purpose.

We used BlogFeeder to import ~800 posts from our old Wordpress site. Pretty neat. The support was good (thanks Daniel !) and accomodating. Tips if you have a whole Wordpress to import with many posts : during the validation of the feed, the app will most likely fall in timeout, due to Wordpress' duration of the RSS feed generation. To counter that, display the RSS feed in your browser, save it as a text file, upload it as a media on your Wordpress site and paste this new URL to the app. Will work like a breeze.

Did everything it said it would do. Brought over all of my blog articles very quickly and easily, and allows me to make the Shopify articles canonical. I used it in conjunction with the "Excelify" app to push through a number of customizations, such as importing images, removing weird formatting issues (the result of Shopify not offering some of the same carousel/gallery features that wordpress does), and removing the "This article first appeared on [original blog url]" that the app appends to every article. The whole experience took a full day, which is much less than the 40 hours I had calculated it would take. If you want to transfer your images from wordpress to Shopify, I would suggest downloading all of the images from WP into a file using an export app, uploading them into Shopify via their file manager, and then find + replacing the portion of the wordpress path with Shopify's path.

Here is the bottom line - my Alexa ranking on www.rickshawjourney.com went from 18,149,136 on August 1st to 3,101,067 as of today (August 27, 2019) BECAUSE of Blogfeeder and my ability to put my FB page blogs onto my shopify site. Does it have quirks? Yes, but those are Shopify related to how it does business and not BlogFeeder - now that I can add my blog content I am hopeful of two things: 1. Getting my ranking into the top 1 million and 2. Making money off my site ( 1 million would be nice)! Thank you, I am grateful. One other point - now, it takes me about 1 minute or less to add a photo and do some tags after Blog Feeder adds the blog - it used to take me 10 minutes or more and that is why I quit and went to 18,149,136 - less than a minute is better than 10! I imported about 150 blog posts with this app. It looked great until I published and I lost the images on all my posts. They said the only workaround is to migrate my old blog to a free host and re-do the entire thing. I think for me, I would have been better off just copying and pasting all my old blog posts. Also, it took me about five different tries to get this review to submit with anything less than 4 stars.

I do not recommend using this app AT ALL. We purchased the one time solution for moving our blogs from wordpress to shopify. When we ran it, it only moved 10 out of 100 blogs. It took three days for support to get back to us. When we finally got some advice, we went to try to make the fixes and our 1 time transfer was expired. We had to contact them again, but there is no weekend support, so we are now waiting again for days just to try to get them to turn it back on.... awful... and super frustrating.

I can not get this app to work. Every time I try to use it I receive an error message. I deleted it and tried again with the same results. I contacted the developer directly and was told that it was an issue with too many people using the app but that the problem was resolved. It was not resolved for me. Okay, it worked very well for importing from Facebook, was a problem with Adobe Business Catalyst but we eventually got that worked out. The problem was with Adobe. The primary issue that lowered the ratings is that the app inserted code into the theme meta tags for canonical links to RSS that were wildly incorrect and created numerous 404 errors. Had to have shopify help to figure out what was causing the errors and how to delete it from the theme. Here is an example that appeared on all blog imports that created the issue.

I understand that this app does not allow us to import images. So I thought we can import the content and then replace the images by ourselves. The support was able to give another suggestion where we do it in this manner: wix > wordpress > shopify. Sadly this does not work as a free WP account does not have the tools function. I have been communicating with the app dev back and forth and this is the disappointing part; we have around 300+ blog post and apparently, only 83 posts were imported. But when I check a few hours, even the 83 posts were not imported into Shopify; to which they explained that "it takes up to 12 hours" and there are backlog issues. I wrote back again to ask for updates and there was none. So we had to take this matter into our own hands; we copy and paste individual blog post into Shopify. Not only that, I checked again after 12 hours and there were so many duplicated posts! We had to do the cleanup and that's extra work for us! I would not recommend using this app if you have a lot of blog post (e.g. 300+) to be imported into Shopify.

Terrible app! The single time use does not import images. As soon as the 72 hours is up, your images are gone. Shopify used to have an app that worked magically for importing blogs from wordpress into the platform. This app needs to return! We have over 1000 blog post sitting on a server that we need imported into shopify. The wordpress import app created by Shopify worked when I tested it before (when it existed). When the time finally came for us to transfer our website domain completely to shopify, the app was gone. We were left to use this Blogfeeder app. If you are doing a one time import, DO NOT USE THIS APP. What good is an import that does not import the images to shopify server? What good is a blog without its images? GARBAGE. My guess is Shopify shut down the app because of the server resources it took to import and download the images, unfortunately this is exactly what a blog importer needs to do! Please refund!!!

Awesome customer service! We had issues with a "first appeared on" text showing up in our Shopify blogs and excerpts, and Ryan from BlogFeeder was very helpful sending us a link with instructions on how to remove the line from the SEO by Yoast Plugin on our Wordrpess, which was actually causing the issue. I have been using this application for a few months now. I have been waiting to leave a review to give it time and see how I like it. I must say it does exactly what it says it does. It links in with no issues. Best of all if you are having a problem with the synchronizing you can sync it manually from the application in your shopify apps. Be patient, do not expect a synchronizing to happen at lighting speed. But it does do it quickly. I will say if you use emoji's in your blog, they do not show up in the synchronizing to your shopify blog. This may be a future update they may add but at this time it does not show up when you view your blog from shopify.

Our experience with blogfeeder was poor. If you value a product actually working properly, good customer service/communication then I would suggest you look elsewhere. We had a lot of blogs to import from our previous e-commerce platform to the new shopify platform. The app did not work properly. We contacted support and were able to make some headway. However, it still would not import all of our blogs and as well as many did not import in their entirety (even after doing everything that support told us too). At that point I just went through and was manually transferring the blogs over (We had over 175 blog post) We had some email exchanges with them and requested a refund. They never responded back. There are lots of apps out there that can migrate your blogs over. I would suggest looking elsewhere. We will not use blogfeeder again nor will we use a product from shopstorm.

I have been using Blog Feeder for several months now and really like it's performance. At first I transferred my blogs from Squarespace to Shopify without any problems. Images, videos and posts transferred over to Shopify without any problems. I also set up one main blog that pulls the latest RSS feeds from my other blogs. Shopify's blog feature is its weakest. But BlogFeeder makes it a dream to make and edit your posts in tumblr and then reimport them into Shopify. Just beware that the imported tumblr post will have tumblr hosted images. The only part I need to do after importing is deleting the images and reuploading them to my shopify. Still love the app!

Saved me a bunch of time - obviously you're still going to be relinking all the images & internal links by hand, but at least you get a jumping off point... I had issues because my source blog was a custom post type - I had to export, and then re-import it to "posts" in wordpress - then delete and reset the feed to make the app work. After that it worked fine. The support received was prompt and friendly. Could do with a few more options... But better than the alternative.

This is our first app review. (5/5 stars shouldn't be used liberally, but we have been satisfied with 5/5 categories for our app purposes). 1. Simplicity: The app is simple and easy to use. 2. Support: BlogFeeder's support team (Justin, in our case) is quick and helpful. 3. Performance: The app performs and does what it is supposed to do -- syncs our feed to our Shopify store's blog. 4. Utility: The app is tremendously useful for whatever reason -- at least useful for one strategy that I still fail to understand about SEO, which is, why an external blog synced to your store is a good idea. Considering all instruction I have received on the subject has been that duplicate content is bad, which is what this inevitably does, it seems syncing a blog in addition to other negative strategies (domain layering and funneling) to your sales channel is bad. But, we are doing it anyway. 5. Price: The app is relatively inexpensive and affordable for our tiny budget.

As much time as I don't have to spare and as fast-paced this world is nowadays, it would be nicer if the synchronizing took place instantaneously. Unless I'm missing something? Otherwise pretty straightforward, upload to Tumblr and it shows up on site eventually. Pretty cool, but could synch faster IMO.

Blog Feeder is an absolutely amazing App, and so is the service and support. I had 74 Blog pages to transfer across from my Word Press site and the first app that was suggested to me only transferred 3 posts then error ed out... I then started to transfer these manually and after many hours, I only had 15 posts transferred, as I also needed to edit them when they went into Shopify.. What was I to do. I just knew that there was a BETTER ANSWER.. Blog Feeder had been suggested to me through Shopify, so I downloaded this amazing app.... But I didn't try it straight away, a little unsure if it would work properly.. Not long after Justin had noticed that I had not used it, so in come my first lot of support from him via e-mail This convinced me that it would be fine. I hit the button and held my breath.... What would happen if I lost them all? Was I surprised as in came these blog posts and LESS THAN 15 MINS later, they were all in my Shopify site, all in their correct order and nothing needed editing.. This was amazing... Justin from Blog Feeder sent several e-mails to make sure everything worked right and that I was happy.. I had just paid for the one off plan thinking that this was all I was going to use it for, but now I will be using this app for writing my pages and posts into Word Press and then transferring them into Shopify without having to edit them.. At the time of writing this my Shopify site is not quite ready to launch, but this app has allowed me to do so much of my setting up and transferring from one site to the next so easily, including my Policy pages etc, etc.. This is so much simpler and quicker than trying to edit in the Shopify page. Justins support is absolutely amazing even though we are both on opposite sides of the world he seems to be there for me when ever I wanted to check on something.. I had something that I wanted to do, that was a little tricky, mentioned this to Justin and before I knew it, he had sent me a couple of e-mails that allowed me to do this.. We were unable to get all of our blog posts to transfer over from Wordpress with the app, however, The ShopStorm team resolved the problem and made sure all the posts were migrated. One thing I will mention is that none of our images associated with the old posts were able to be migrated.

This app is better than anything I have found. Although it doesn't bring in all content from my blog sites it is still so much faster than importing all of my posts manually. It should be noted that any links will remain, and if they point to another page on the same site they're coming from it will be a very manual update if you're moving your whole site to shopify like I am. Easy install. Took only a few minutes to figure it out. Once I did then my Tumblr and Instagram feeds were populating in minutes on my blog. Very cool. Had a few detailed questions about multiple Instagram tags getting posted on my blog and they were on top of it super quick. This is a great service if you want to keep your blogs in sync. I had an older blog on Blogger that I wanted migrated to Shopify. This app is exactly what I need to keep our customers up to date with the latest going on at our store, but keeping them within the confides of our store. Support for issues has been fast and patient! One thing I don't like is the way each article is an item under "collections". This then means the article will show up when your search for a term under our store.....for example if you search T-shirt, it will also display articles with T-shirt contained in it, along side products. Otherwise, works well.................UPDATE: Since writing the above, I was contacted by Justin in support who helped me solve the problem right away....even though it was a Shopify issue. Justin went ahead and modified the code to fix the issue. Best customer service I've had from any developer. Outstanding.

I chose BlogFeeder because it offered the most comprehensive and effective approach to moving my existing blog over to my new Shopify site. The thing that really appealed was that I could continue to add blog posts from Wordpress and BlogFeeder would take care of the rest without my having to worry about links/google etc. This was particularly important as I tend to get external bloggers to write posts for the blog and its easiest to manage that from Wordpress itself so I was keen to keep that functionality. Ok, this is an edited review. I posted a review originally with one star because this app did not work for me in certain ways I expected it to. I expected it to upload my whole tumblr but it only uploaded something like 25 photos or something. I thought it would upload everything. I guess tumblr limits your rss feed to the 20 or 25 most recent posts. HOWEVER, a representative from blogfeeder emailed me right away once he saw that I was having issues and explained everything to me and since we have been email back and forth trying to figure out how to make this app work for me the way I want it to. The customer service is incredible. I never would have expected a real person to reach out and help solve any issue I was having which turned out to be a tumblr issue or maybe actually due to my theme, which is vantage. I will be contacting them next to try to customize the layout of my in-store blog. I would recommend trying out this app, it does have a free trial so if it doesn't work for you just go another route. It's easy to instal and de-install, as i have. Its like one click to do either. They informed me that they will be making improvements in the near future as well, so looking forward to seeing those and will be keeping the app installed after all. 4 stars for how it works, but about a million stars for customer service.

App works well, but is driven by RSS feeds, and thus appears to be limited to importing the number of RSS feed posts that your blogging platform allows. This means that I was only able to import the most recent posts from a blog that is several years old and has 100+ posts. There are also some issues with formatting involving the use of captions on images in Wordpress. These, of course, can be manually corrected fairly easily, but it takes time. Otherwise, a great app, and these issues may not matter to many, depending on circumstances.

I was looking everywhere for how to get my facebook feed into Shopify and was overjoyed when I found Blogfeeder. Not only was it simple to install and super fast, it worked! I am hopeful that in future versions we'll be able to bring over the pictures and comments as well but until then, this App is still fantastic. Thanks Blogfeeder!

App works seamlessly - my only issue is with the way the blogs are displayed within Shopify - I'd love to lead with an image rather than text... That's my next challenge! At least I have a fully synced blog to start with thanks to blogfeeder

After being frustrated with the lack of support Shopify offered for their WP app, I began to look for other options, and that is when I found BlogFeeder. Although it does not offer a comment transfer, their staff is more than willing to manually add them if possible for you and find every way possible to make sure your experience with BlogFeeder is superb. Their staff gets in touch with you right away after submitting a support email. I had to wait 4 days to get a response out of Shopify's app team on the WP app. There are plenty of things that the WP app does not do that Blogfeeder does. If we were keeping our WP account, the ability to maintain one blog is fantastic. We love that it automatically imports your new blogs for you. We could not be happier to see how quickly they responded and how much they were willing to do for their clients. If you're looking for great support and an easy to use app, Blogfeeder is a phenomenal addition to your site! We retract our negative review.. We don't see a way to delete it.. Otherwise we would.

Very happy with the app, ESPECIALLY with the tech support that i've received. Denis from Tech Support was extremely helpful and responsive, he resolved all of the issues I faced when I first installed the app. We find the app itself to be very helpful, since we do want to keep our Tumblr blog, but don't have the time to sync up the one in Shopify with Tumblr, so this is perfect since it has the automatic update feature. Highly recommend it, its definitely worth the money!
