Tried to install the app and use a basic Event Calendar widget on the Horizon theme. Does not add block correctly to page. Event calendar displays very small. Unable to edit settings to make calendar fill page. Super frustrating. UPDATE: Their reply makes it seem like they worked with me to get it solved, but they did not solve it. Their tech support recommended I hire an external dev to get it fixed. I had to use outside support to solve my issue. Do not believe their response.

Constantly need support to book due to unfriendly interface. Good luck talking to someone on a weekend. Overpriced and seems like it hasn’t been updated in years. Black outs are annoying, I should just be able to select what days I want to book things on and repeat it. Not block out every day I am not needing a booking.

2026 Update Had a business impacting technical issue, which Shopify couldn’t fix. Went back to BTA & they resolved the problem. As always, great technical support & ruddy good booking system. Thanks Just Fabulous. It works so well for us to get students to book courses online with no administration intervention. Allows multiple payment options to work seamlessly with the booking. Took a little while to iron out some display options, but now it's how we like it. Great support too. Great App, get it if you need to sell courses and book online.

Mostly reviewing about customer service: recently I spoke with Rana, who was very helpful, friendly and responded quickly. When I've contacted BTA during work hours it is quick and easy to get in touch with a real person to chat with, which I appreciate. The app itself is pretty good, though it requires a fair amount of learning to get things working the way we want. Also not a lot of customization aesthetically. It seems like there are many customer experience features to customize but it's not obvious what each one does. I wish there was a small explanation under each Title telling you what exactly it does. Since the customer service is good its helpful to just reach out if you're confused about anything.

Unethical Pricing and Locked Account Access I used this app for over two years on the $29 plan. When my plan expired, I was told I’d have to pay $49 for the exact same plan, a steep and unfair increase. What’s worse, I was locked out of my own account and data unless I paid the higher amount. Support repeatedly asked me to confirm deletions I couldn’t even see, leaving me unable to access or retrieve my information. This experience felt unprofessional, manipulative, and deeply disappointing. I would not recommend this app to anyone. If you value fair treatment and data access, stay away. Once your plan ends, you risk being completely locked out of your account.

We are a smaller art studio that offers a lot of classes with online registration and have been using the app for about 4 years. This app has been perfect for what we have needed. Oversells what it can actually do. Purchased it specifically for its bundling functionality, but it's basic at best and can't handle multiple variants. Support documents were vague and outdated, and this was not made clear until I purchased the upgrade to test this out myself. Setup is very confusing and technical. Support is abysmal with vague responses and a 24 hour wait.

I’m having a serious issue with the embedded version of Book That App. The standalone version works fine — I can create widgets, set up services, and manage settings without problems — but the embedded version doesn’t let me log in at all. Even though I’m logged into Shopify and following all setup instructions, I keep getting errors like “Store does not exist” and “1 error prohibited this user from being saved.” I’ve already tried clearing cache, switching browsers, using the .myshopify.com domain, checking permissions, and enabling the app embed in the theme, but nothing fixes it. On top of that, the app doesn’t recognize my email for login, even though it’s the same one I use to log into Shopify. This makes it impossible to use the embedded version to run my store. This is a critical issue that blocks me from using one of the app’s main features. It needs to be fixed urgently because it directly impacts my store’s operations.

BTA are the best choice when using Shopify. However, their application is very finicky and errors can happen continuously, which is a firm no in tourism. They seem to have no desire to integrate with OTAs and keep pushing irrelevant apps like email marketing which isn't going to grow sales. If you use this app, you have to be VERY detail orientated and double check everything if you make one tiny change, it will mess everything up.

2025 EDIT: I've been using BookThat for more than six years. We currently have a waitlist issue that I've gone back and forth with support for more than 3 weeks. This app is crucial to my business, and I'm spending way too much time re-re-explaining the issue to tech support. I also feel that the apps appearance in my theme is sloppy and amateurish. It's like you're on a nice website, then you go to register or waitlist for a class and you're in an archaic interface. Seems like for what I pay, the app could look a little more streamlined. Edit: The following issue from 2018 has been fixed. My experience in recent years has been positive. Thank you BookThat! If your product has a capacity limit, be warned: there is an integration issue between Book That and Shopify that has yet to be resolved. Therefore, if your customer leaves their class/tour in their cart or if they respond to an abandoned cart email, they will be able to purchase the class/tour--even if it's sold out. Further, those bookings will not appear on your run sheet "roster." We've had several very dicey and embarrassing moments when classes overfilled, catching us off guard and making us look very amateurish. We teach cooking classes, so not having enough ingredients for paying customers is an epic fail. I am not alone in this experience. Read through these reviews, and you'll read about other companies with overbooked tours and classes. Of course, you can manually monitor your Shopify sales and compare them against your Book That bookings, but I don't feel I should have to go through this added layer of effort--it's the reason why I pay for the app. Book That is aware of the issue and is currently unable to rectify the problem as they are unable to access the code. We have paid two different third party developers to help us with this issue and our current workaround is: 1) adding a cart timer and 2) directing abandoned cart emails to the product versus the cart. Neither are fixes nor make for a positive customer experience. For a booking app that works with Shopify, this is our only option. Once Shopify and Book That work out this issue, this will be a five-star product.

We have used BTA for over 3 years and it's the only booking app we have ever used. Simple to set-up and very good interface on the customer side and on the store side. Customer support is extremely responsive and any issues are quickly resolved. My one wish is that there is a way for google analytics to integrate with the app. As soon as a customer begins the booking process on the BTA side, we lose side of customer conversions.

At the time, the app no longer functioned with Shopify’s updated POS system—despite what was stated on the App Store—which disrupted our checkout process and required inconvenient workarounds involving elevated admin permissions for our retail staff. Since then, the BTA team has resolved the POS issue, and the app is once again working smoothly in our store environment. This was a major concern for us, and we truly appreciate the team’s responsiveness in addressing it. We’re updating our rating to 4 stars to reflect this improvement and to acknowledge that the app overall still brings meaningful value to our business. That said, there are still areas for growth—such as the hardcoded 6-month limit on the Events widget, which restricts our ability to promote events further in advance. We’re continuing to use the app and are hopeful that future updates will bring more flexibility and customization. We appreciate the progress so far and look forward to what’s next!

Update: D'Angelo seems to no longer be working for the company and there have been many issues that have arisen recently where unscheduled dates are showing up on the widget for customers to sign up. When I contacted support for help, my inquiry was basically brushed off and I was told to contact him again if it keeps happening. When it keeps happening and this is unacceptable since I have to call customers to apologise and reschedule. I am very disappointed and will be looking for another app to replace this one. The features are pretty comprehensive and are exactly what we're looking for. Support by D'Angelo, who is almost always available, is top notch. He deserves a raise for sure as he definitely stands out amongst other support agents. The setup requires a bit of tweaking in order to make everything look good. Availability of API is valuable, but does require quite a huge jump in monthly subscription charge. Other than this last point, we have no complaints.

The app's been solid, and has a lot of flexibility especially with the API. Two things I wish we could do more easily: * Dynamic pricing, or pricing based on time of day vs. having to create a whole separate product and calendar. * More flexibility with the form styling. We don't use the widgets (even though they keep recommending it) because I can't target the code with CSS for customization. They only offer their GUI for changing some components, but that's not enough for us.

You have to consider a lot of ittt's for rental and they manage to control them all. If you ask a question if something will be possible, they not only answer, but manage to fix things before the answer. Of course depending on the day and hour, but often they answer within an hour! Could not wish for more at this point. UPDATE: 5 years later: It's still working like a charm. 10/1 Update- the team got back to me the following morning and resolved my issue and my husbands reset password came through later that night so we were able to get in and continue. I have updated my review to reflect the quick resolution. I do think there is some work to be done on being more user friendly especially with schedules when you have multiple coaches. There aren’t any videos and an easy way to handle multiple coaches and also have a resource as well the coach would be using. I got it figured out but it took a lot of trial and error but not exactly how I need it. Will continue to work through and reach out to the staff for help. Frustrating, as of today, I am not able to log in. I tried the forget my password and its showing my email is not valid. I just received emails from them yesterday. I have previously had issues (last month) with them having a bug where people couldn't check out. I originally thought it was shopify but their support team let me know they were working with Bookthatapp to resolve as it was something from their end. So, two months in a row, I have had issues that is preventing me from receiving bookings or being able to add/edit bookings (today). I submitted a ticket today but unfortunately, there isn't any number to call for support, so I had to submit a ticket.

I can say for sure that BookThatApp has the best support I have ever encountered. It responds quickly and even makes the settings you need. Simply magic! On other sites, at best, you will be answered by a useless bot. The application is very flexible and can be easily customized for any task. The only thing that bothers me is that I need to pay for each booking, even if this booking was created on the Airbnb website and using calendar synchronization, BookThatApp considers it created and protected as payment. I usually try to avoid bad reviews. In this case, however, I want to warn you. For over a month now, there has been an error where the booking widget on the website very often does not load and bookings are therefore not possible. The result is lost customers and thus lost money. Ok, things like that can happen, but the bad thing in this case is the support. When I reported the error, I was told that the error had already been fixed. I had to prove the opposite. Then I was told that it was because my browser was out of date. Nonsense, I test several browsers in different (current) versions. Then I was told that it was only on Apple systems, which After a month, they reported the problem as solved, but I was able to reproduce the error in seconds. Either the support is completely incompetent or they are deliberately telling untruths. I don't know, but either way is bad and makes working together impossible.

D'Angelo was so helpful on the chat for support! We had an *issue* which was just our inability to read and he was so patient and understanding looking into the problem, which helped me realize that the problem was not actually anything wrong. Normally, apps with this level of customer service and support have 5 stars from me on the assistance alone, however, the app is wonderful too! So much functionality, so intuitive to use, BookThatApp has made managing our one-and-done classes along with our multi-session classes easy and less daunting. The reminder functionality is seamless and easy to use and really helps us have a one stop shop for running the classes portion of our business. I love that we were able to set up reminders for both our customers who signed up for our classes and the instructors teaching the classes. No more panicking at 10:00 the night before a class trying to figure out for an instructor if they had any students sign up. I also love how easy the app makes it to add dates to existing classes. Many of our instructors have classes that get offered over and over again. With past systems, there was a lot of effort wasted on copying the class and setting it up as effectively a new class every time it was offered. Now, we just add dates to the already established class product. Piece of cake. It saves me so much time in running the behind the scenes parts of the business, This app is literally everything our shop needed it to be and more!

BTA has enabled our store to offer rentals to our clients. It has most of the features we were looking for. I do wish they offered API access to any paid account because there are some features that we didn't really need, and the plan with the API access is more than we need for now. The widget that they offer for booking is super nice. One feature that I would like would be for my customers to select one rental date at the store and have it apply to all of their selections without having to enter in the rental date on every product.

I can't explain or comprehend why this app is so user unfriendly. Doing anything simple, like changing the email address that emails are sent from, require so much more information and time than any of the other platforms I use. Even adjusting email templates for Reminders, require HTML knowledge and competency with Liquid Variables! With the cost of this app, the time spent trying to brand it has been incredibly frustrating. The good points are its flexibility for having courses (that run multiple weeks) or classes and lots of input details. However these have been outweighed by my frustration in trying to do simple branding exercises on the platform. If anyone has any suggestions on either how to make it easier or another app, I would appreciate it!

I now have to somehow figure out how to set up an entire new booking system on the fly so I can make money to pay my bills. I’ve been wondering why there’s suddenly nobody booking. This is why, BTA non functioning app. Don’t download this awful app, you will absolutely regret it. Shopify needs at least one decent booking app option, because this is absurd. This is in addition to: double bookings, bookings made online on days I have blocked off, bookings that don’t even show up in calendar until after the appointment. Clunky, non user friendly, but most of all nonworking and not reliable or even existent tech support.

***Editing to make this 5 stars. If the new owners live up to their promises it will be very soon! I'll drop it to 4 if they take too long to make progress** If you need to book things I'd recommend this app. While there are some quirks with it it gets the job done. Some things could be more intuitive (like using resources) and other things that can cause issues are not apparent or documented. For example, if you change the date or time of a class (and not the individual booking too) it can/will get overbooked. Also, the enrollment report for the original time disappears. "Any changes made to a class or scheduled event must also be made to the existing bookings. If the bookings do not align with the event (time/date), then those bookings won't be included in an enrollment report, because they "don't exist for the event" as far as the app knows." We often have 40+ people enrolled. Moving each individually if we have to reschedule a class is very time-consuming and inefficient. Some missing features would make this a 5-star app, like having class passes for drop-in offerings like yoga. Also would like to be able to export an entire report. Currently, only the data that fits on the page is exported. For long reports, you have to export each page individually. This app was acquired recently and I'm feeling good about the new team. Support previously was very condescending and not very personable. Folks I've been in contact with recently are much more helpful. There are also hidden functionalities of the app that aren’t documented. The new owners have said they are finding them and planning to address them as they go along. They seem to be planning new features and I was also told that are working on the UI which I am looking forward to.

This app has the functionality I want but has unexpected problems. My business provides sewing classes, parties, and camps for kids, teens, and adults. I moved to Shopify from another booking platform. Finding Book That and testing it before I moved platforms was a key reason I moved to Shopify. My experience has been uneven. The setup was not intuitive, but D'Angelo was very helpful during the process. Once I became familiar with the platform, loading classes was manageable. However, several technical difficulties have occurred in the last couple of weeks. Parents have repeatedly told me they cannot register on their smartphones. This has led to lost sales, time spent on the phones with customers, and a bad experience for parents who have purchased a sewing party for their child. One customer called me at the time they were trying to register on their smartphone. I could not replicate the issue they were seeing on their end, but after thirty minutes of troubleshooting, the customer could finally check out on Shopify. Immediately after that order was submitted, I received an email from BTA saying, "This is an automated email from BookThatApp about a problem creating a booking from one of your orders." After receiving the email, I checked in BTA and discovered that, indeed, there was no booking for that customer. I had to create the booking manually. The order captured in Shopify did not have any class information, so if I had not been in communication with the customer, I would not have known I needed to create the booking manually, and the class would have been oversold. I reached out to Support to figure out what had happened. D'Angelo was very polite, but unable to see anything that might have caused the problem. He just said to let them know if it happened again.

We use this app for selling classes for which it works very well. Whenever I have had problems getting something set up, the customer support has been excellent and quick to reply, even helping when the issue has been on the Shopify side. We have accommodations on the same site and I did have to make a work around when we wanted to vary room rates between weekends and weekdays (solution: price at $0 and invoice manually after booking or 52 create manual discounts in Shopify every year) but this is for a small side business and it is a big ask to expect any one app to fulfill all needs.

If you go over your bookings for the month you lose access to EVERYTHING. We have one event this month that pushed us to our limit. I've had this app for over a year and have old pricing. To upgrade I'd have to spend an extra $20/month and wouldn't have the option to downgrade again. Now that I've hit the limit, the only thing I can see is the upgrade page -- none of our currently appointments that we paid for. I chatted with support and they said I won't have access to anything until the new billing cycle. I asked if I'd be able to just start a new cycle early and they said no. There's also no option to buy extra appointments for the month. They told me the only option is to upgrade. Hitting my monthly limit and not getting more bookings is fine, but not being able to see the bookings I already paid for in my plan is not acceptable.

Needs more development. I used your app for almost 4 months as an Activity/tour booking system for adult and children tickets. However, I had to uninstall it due to several issues. First, the app didn't allow bookings during events, resulting in the loss of many ticket sales. For example, if we had an event running from 9am to 5pm, customers could only book before 9am. I suggest adding a feature in the backend, like a checkbox, that allows us to "allow customer to book while event is in progress," similar to other apps. Second, the enrollment and runsheet reports combine the totals for adults and children, making it difficult to track individual ticket types. This requires manually checking each booking. It would be helpful to separate each ticket variant in reports to easily track the number of tickets sold for each type. I hope you can fix these issues soonest.

My shopify store is not live yet but as I will need to take bookings I checked out a few different apps and then chose BTA. I have found it pretty easy to use because the User Guide provided - is clear and easy to understand and follow, however I have had to contact the support team on 3-4 different occasions and every time they have answered my questions in a timely response and given clear directions on how to implement what I need to solve my problem. We have been using BTA to manage our rental store for about 1 year now. We ship rental products to our customers and they return the products after their rental period. This application is excellent. The integration with Shopify is super easy. The initial setup and then the integration of new products is extremely quick and smooth. You can add an individual lead time and a lag time for each product. This is especially important for us as we have to take shipping times into account when managing our inventory. You can also add different locations etc. wich are not using since we are shipping our products. The customer interface looks great and booking is very intuitive. It is also very easy to make manual bookings. After a booking you get an email with an ics file that you can add to your Outlook calendar for example. You also have a calendar in the backend. The customer service is excellent. They will help you extremely quickly, which is very important because you will get disappointed customers and lose a lot of money if your booking system goes down. They will also help you with very specific problems and go to great lengths to find a solution. They will never leave you alone with a problem. The pricing is also fair. I think in the past there was no booking limit that came with your plan. But considering the value BTA provides to our small business, I think all pricing levels are still more than OK. The only thing on my wish list is a better calendar in the backend. A few small adjustments would be extremely helpful from my perspective. 1. Include the option to include/exclude lead time and lag time in the appointments. Currently, the calendar only shows the booking appointment itself + the lag time. In our case, the lead time reflects the time we need to ship our product to our customers. If we could include this information in our calendar, we would know when to ship the product to our customer from our calender. 2. Custom color coding for the appointments. It would be great if we could change the color of the appointments. Then we would have a better overview of the events. In our case it could look like this: blue - confirmed booking red-shipment initiated purple-product at customer green - product back in stock. 3. Synchronization with Outlook calendar (the others are more important) These small changes would make inventory management easier and more convenient. However, it is by far the best solution we have tested so far. We are very happy with it. Easy to use, good interface, perfect support, fair pricing. Thank you BTA team We love you Tom

Upon my recent migration to a new Shopify theme, I suddenly found myself with a number of severe calendar and booking-related issues happening all at the same time. These were big, visible customer-facing problems that urgently needed to be addressed and had me feeling helpless. I had troubleshot for days and hours before finally reaching out to the team, jaded due to past experiences with other platforms’ customer service. Simply put, I was skeptical that help would arrive and didn’t want to get my hopes up. There's nothing quite so unnerving as needing immediate assistance and having no idea if and when your web-form-submitted pleas for help will catch anyone's attention or get a reply. It always feels a bit like throwing a message in a bottle into the ocean, hoping it will reach someone, but never knowing if or when it will. Finally, after another full day of troubleshooting, I submitted several support request tickets late in the evening as a last resort. It was after 10 pm, so I had accepted that I'd be going to bed unsettled and anxious, and waking up to who-knows-how-many confused customers the next morning. But then, like a beacon of light coming out of the sky, I started receiving real, human feedback and assistance immediately! Albert's late PM hour responses to my SOS literally felt like having a life raft thrown to me. He jumped on my cases immediately, and by the time I did head to bed, 2 out of 3 of my issues were fixed, if not well on their way to being fully resolved. The next day, Rob picked up seamlessly where Albert left off, and guided me the rest of the way to complete resolution. To get to interface with one exceptional tech support rep alone is rare, so to be able to benefit from the combined efforts of such a talented team was nothing short of outstanding. Welcome to the most in depth review ever written. HA! I kid. Firstly, if you've got appts, rentals, etc to book - you know my pain. It's SO lovely to have it all tied into Shopify, but choosing the right app is OVERWHELMING with A. so many apps and B. SO many with good ratings. I'm a super type A gal who created a whole spreadsheet trying to organize the madness as I tested. I looked outside of Shopify as well - and other platforms are ultimately complicated and I'd rather have it tied into Shopify. I searched and searched and went with BTA about 3 years ago. My business expanded this year and my circumstances got a little too complicated for their app - but guess what... it was also too complicated for EVERY other app I SPENT 40 HOURS TESTING, RESEARCHING, ETC. So take my word for it... Overall, I think BTA's features are very robust, possibly one of the most robust apps out there, and they are very helpful. There's one I think that would go toe to toe with, but the price point of that competitor is 4X that of BTA, so why bother? BTA is really helpful with customer service. The only struggle is sometimes it's really hard to explain everything via email and there's some disconnects - but eventually we all get it together. There's some disgruntled folks in these reviews and I can say.... I'm not always the most patient person... and I think at the end of the day, they'll match your energy. If you get irritated and short with them, when all they really are trying to do is help, you'll have a sub par experience. Try to take a breathe and know they really do want to help. In 3 years, I only had one glitch that caused some booking troubles. They got to it as fast as they could. Of course, I wanted it fixed IMMEDIATELY, but, being part owner in a tech company, I know it takes time to figure out a bug and implement a solution. Even instagram and Amazon go down, we can't expect perfection - but one glitch in 3 years is pretty dang good! Finally, if you are a design nerd like me... you might be fooled by a few other app options that just look soooo cool and pretty. haha. Trust me, the functionality is just not there. I feel bad mentioning this, but I want this to be an honest review. Plus, I know it is a selling point for a lot of people - myself included. I almost switched because another app was prettier. At the end of the day, it just wasn't QUITE up there with BTA. At the end of the day, I choose BTA for functionality, price and the fact that I have weird booking circumstances and they walked me through setting things up to finagle it to work for my needs. With an app SO robust, there's bound to be confusion - it's not like we customers wrote the code! I say this because you will have questions... probably lots of them, and they WILL be there for you, as a partner. IF YOU WANT MORE SPECIFIC FINDINGS FROM MY SEARCH: - BTA allows you to create booking fields and it's more customizable than any other app I've seen in this regard (again, one other goes toe to toe, but for 4x the price) - BTA's notifications are robust and better than most... and it's included in the price! Other apps have you alter liquid theme files and I hate doing that personally. - The bookings calendar and elements are customizable and you have more options with how to display things than with other apps - Their customer RESCHEDULE/CANCELLATION FEATURE IS PURE GOLD! Many apps do not have this. - I like that they have a different website login so I don't have to pay for a bunch of staff users on shopify - they can login there to check customers in, etc. Other apps all have them log in to shopify which I don't like for a number of reasons, one being the cost. - The multiple ways you can set your hours, blackouts, etc makes it really great for complex calendar/availability situations. - Once you get a few products set up, it's really easy to go from there. - I wouldn't waste your time poking around if you're confused - out of the gate just shoot BTA an email and give them your specific user case with as much detail and honestly just let them tell you what you need - you'll save yourself a lot of time.

So far this app is doing everything we want it to be doing. We are using it now for equipment rentals both off site and on site. Ignore bad reviews. If you are not experienced enough to use the app, it is not the developers fault. A good app covers a lot of topics that customers often have to deal with when a small business owner doesn't take the time (or use the tool) to make purchases easier. This app IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST if you're wanting to do product rentals and other appointment/booking style functions on your Shopify site. If you go elsewhere to add rentals/bookings you'll come back to this app, trust me, that's what happened to me. My favorite features include being able to have my assistant manage orders from a separate login through a URL and being able to list products for sale as well as for rent in the SAME listing! LOVE LOVE LOVE! Support is wonderful too. Give it a try, you won't regret it.

The app is great for accomplishing a lot of complex setups, but it has two major design problems that won't allow businesses that have tasting rooms, like a brewery or winery to use the app. Unfortunately, they don't have a way to provide feedback or request product enhancements to the developers either. I found their support to be very condescending at times, and they tend to treat you like you're an idiot rather than try to help you understand their product. The app makes the assumption that a staff member can't handle appointments/reservations of a capacity of more than one person. I get that makes sense for a lot of businesses, but I think that decision should be up to the end-user and not enforced by the app. Like most small tasting rooms we are limited in staff so we need to be able to not allow people to book appointments for a tasting if our staff is out of the office or busy, and the app determines staff free/busy time by syncing with any calendar app that supports iCal, which is a really nice feature. But there is no way other than associating a staff member to an appointment type to block out a time slot based on staff availability unless you associate that staff member to the appointment type. Once you do that you've limited the number of people that can attend an appointment to 1 person because one staff member is limited to a capacity of 1. Like most small tasting rooms we only have one bar where we do private tastings, and it seats 8 people, so when we schedule a private tasting we limit it to 8, but again, we can't both limit appointments based on staff availability AND the capacity of our tasting room bar, it's one or the other. If they would just fix staff resources so we could define the capacity a staff can handle then everything would work just fine, but they refuse to even consider it from my discussions with them so far. Their only recommendation was to use equipment in place of staff because if you can set capacity on equipment, but the equipment type doesn't allow you to associate a free/busy calendar to it. Their underlying schema must support capacity for staff because when you export staff from the product to CSV there is a capacity/inventory column that is set to 1 for staff, but they said it's hardcoded and can't be changed (I already tried importing with the Inventory set to 8, and it just reset it back to 1). And there's no way to file enhancement requests to their development team. Honestly, the product is so powerful I really find it hard to believe that there isn't a way to accomplish what I need, but to date, their support has been of little help trying to help me solve it, and they no longer offer paid install/configuration support so you're going to be stuck figuring out difficult setups by yourself because their support gets impatient really quick if there isn't an easy answer to your problem...I've practically begged to pay them in the past and they have no interest at all. The primary reason I'm giving it a 2-star rating is because of their support and unwillingness to accept product feedback or enhancement request other than filing a support ticket, which to date just keeps getting closed with the resolution that the product can't do what I need. And their unwillingness to do provide custom support even if you're willing to pay for it. It's very possible that I was just unlucky and happened to get the same person every time I opened a ticket, but I've opened quite a few tickets over the past several months and I had the same experience each time. I'm not giving up yet, mostly because there aren't many better options, and I'm just hoping with a little more tweaking I'll figure something out. This all said, if I was the type of business like the ones they discuss in a lot of their examples, I probably would have had a much better experience and a lot fewer problems. I could see giving it a 4 star, maybe a 5-star rating if I didn't have to talk to their support and I was running a hair or nail salon. Also, take a minute to read all the responses to any reviews that didn't give a 4-star or higher rating and that will be the type and tone of responses you will get from their support when you run into tougher problems to solve. I would guess that there are probably a much higher percentage of people that use their products that never have to deal with support, if you're one of them then you probably love the product.

As soon as you install this app, it will show your products as 'no availability' on your calender. So expect a nosedive in sales. The only way to change this is to uninstall immediately. Customer service can only assist if the app is installed, so you are left playing a game of catch 22 with customer service. Oh, and to add to the misery, customer service only respond via email, so you can't solve the issues in real time. Back and forth, cat and mouse. So stupid.

In general, we are very happy with it, there are lots of configuration options and the team seems to have passion for their app. Though when a bug came up, it took us two attempts to explain the problem and we eventually had to be less nice so that we were taken seriously and that it was recognized that it is a bug that should be fixed. However in the end, the bug was fixed within a day, that was great! One important feature request we still have is that in the booking calendar overview it would be great if we could choose which information pops up when hovering above bookings. In particular, we would like to display the customer's address there. Choosing what is displayed in the calendar overview could be a great setting (with radio buttons) also for lots of other customers we think. Overall, we would recommend BookThatApp and believe that the app, if continually improved, can become the best in its class!

I have been using BTA for about 3 years now and it has only become better and better! I rely on the calendar to view my bookings daily, it's like having a PA. The app is seamless, easy to use and customer friendly, I use it for both product hire bookings and appointment bookings - it can suit a range of needs. I tested about 8 booking apps available in Shopify. BookThatApp is the only one that provided most of our complicated requirements. With Covid, there are lots of restrictions and this produced more complicated scenarios for us. We understand that the out of the shelf product do have limitations and I know that I kept on bugging the support team with a lot of questions. The support team is very quick to respond and very knowledgeable. The only thing that I can think that needs improvement is to provide a timeline for bug submissions. I understand that this is by first come first serve basis. We users would need to know the delivery of the bug so that we could decide if we can wait or if we need to have an alternative. Other than that, the team is great and the app is heaven sent to us.

Me being a demanding costumer, I had a great costumer experience with the support team. However, there is Alex from the support team who is on either his/her own personal vendetta, actually does not read the questions I am asking or he/she is lacking costumer obsession. He/she blocked me from the support service, since I told him/her that I will rather wait until another employee is back online again. (I may have send him 50 best tips and tricks for costumer service). I really recommend this app and love the costumer support, but cross your fingers when Alex is answering your call for support. It is unprofessional, does not stand for the high quality service of the app and shines a bad light on the service provided.

This app is awesome. It is the main app that drives our web site. We love the functionality for any kind of booking capabilities. I looked at 7 other apps, all of them were clunky, not working right or did not deliver on the functionality. Zatya clearly know what they are doing. PS The tech support is just top notch. I had so many questions and requests and they were able to solve all of them (mostly due to my misconfigurations from so many options that are available). This is the absolute best Shopify plug in for booking appointments! We have tried all the booking apps and the others all had deal breaking glitches, bad operation, or just a bad set of info shown to the customer creating constant confusion and babysitting. BookThatApp, is babysitting free. Fully automatic client cancellation and refunds. The customer facing information from this APP is fantastic and easy to customize. There are some parts where you may want to edit code, but not to worry, BookThatApp has easy to follow help to keep you moving forward without support tickets. If I ever did have a question, support was right on it and solved the issue within a day. Of course, external booking services may be more feature rich e and appealing for some, but having the money and the customer data all in one place is GOLD! Now we can keep track of our customer's visits in addition to their purchase history all there in one place. This also makes for a seamless marketing campaign. Thank you Zetya for making booking work within Shopify. With the every changing parameters of Shopify, I know that isn't easy. Thanks for the work!

Now after 9 months of use, I feel that this review is more accurate/fair - In principle, and when working smoothly, this app is the best I found in regards to customisation and complexity. Why I chose this app - I have 47 members of staff, all of which offer a variety of services/products in various locations. Therefore, needing a booking platform that'll allow a member of staff to be assigned 'services/products' they are able to offer. As well as 'locations' in which these services/products can be offered... Now, if a staff member has been assigned a service, in a location that takes 'X' amount of time, that member of staff needs to show as unavailable at that time (plus a 15min buffer perhaps)... The last thing any business needs is for that member of staff to be double booked - Hence the need for a booking system that will allow you to set the service/product offering of a staff member, as well as setting the location in which they work. I genuinely haven't found another app offering a solution for this. However, over the last 6 months of the website being live, I'm still getting the same issues reoccurring. These are just some examples - Regularly allows double bookings - You're on you own here, they'll 'fix' it, but it won't last long (lost count of how many times this has happened) No 'locations' saved on appointments - You've got a booking, but where?? Customer remarks - "I can't select any dates from the calendar" "There's no dates to select... Just says no availability" "I can select a date, but then says no times available? I've gone through 10 dates??? Why can I select them if there's no times available???" "I can't checkout, just says you reservation can't be saved?" BTA customer support - "Your customer is using an out of date browser" - Meaning they can double book. So now you need to explain to the customer why you cant fulfil their order. "What device and browser did your customer use to book?" - I don't know? Whilst this might help to resolve the issue, it's not good for business. I've been paying for highest service package, just to be told - "We process tens of thousands of bookings successfully per day, so yes I would say the app is delivering value for the thousands of merchants that use it" I'm constantly having to get in touch to resolve issues, I dread to think how many lost sales there are as not all customers get in touch with us to let us know there's a problem, and just move on. No resolve. Just expected to accept this is what happens. I originally left a 5* review after too shorter timescale to have really had any experience of using the app. After a few months of use, discovering more and more issues and lack of customer service, I then left a poor review. However, retracted it after Alex contacted me looking to resolve my many issues. This review is more accurate, and fair.
