Bonify has turned out to be an absolute shit app. Slows site speed, always conflicts with our baseline CSS, KILLS SEO, very clunky to use. Can't wait to get rid of this awful app.

Have been using this app for the last 8 years and it's been great! Would give it 5 but there's some quirky limitations and feels a tad antiquated. I've been using the platform for a long time and the interface hasn't modernized a ton. But still a great platform and gets the job done. Amazing and fast support as well. Great customer experience.

I noticed that there is supposed to be a free plan available, but when I click on the app, it only shows a prominent $14 price for the Pro plan. It's quite strange that there isn’t an option for anything other than the Pro plan, especially when the free plan is advertised

Highly recommend this app to help enhance our website. We have had Bonify Custom Fields installed on our Shopify website for years and use it to give us more customization on different product pages. Recently, we accidentally deleted the app from our store and their customer service team was amazing to work with. This app is a must have. I've been using it for the last few years. Even now with the Shopify metafields settings being in the admin, Custom Fields is so much handier to use and has so much more that it can do. It took a little time to get used to (I'm not a programmer). I've been able to do some more advanced things (in my eyes) with this app by looking at examples and spending time using it.

This app did exactly what I needed it to do: create text accordions with unlimited sections and heavy formatting, and place them below the products on collection pages. Their customer/tech support is really good too: quick to respond, courteous, professional and knowledgeable. ID'd and fixed a formatting issue that came up after I changed themes, that was caused not by the app but by the theme overriding the app's formatting. I have a suggestion for a future widget: a column carousel that allows for unlimited columns, with a picture, heading, text and button section for each column.

One of the worst implementations of an import/export app I have seen. I imported 47 records and got the message that there were no errors yet none of the records were changed. Support told me there was an error in my file... If that was the case then you would think the app would be smart enough to tell you that there was a problem instead of reporting no errors. Also, beware that this doesn't import titles or descriptions - very limiting in my opinion.

The Custom Fields app is amazing! I needed a way to add tabs to break up product details and specs, and I looked at several other apps, but none of them had the simple widget interface like this does. This app’s widgets allowed me to add this functionality and more that was missing from my theme without needing to hire a developer. I had a small issue with one of the widgets not working exactly how I wanted it to, and the support team responded to me within an hour to resolve the issue. Great app and great support!

We found a lot of limitations with shopify's out of the box functionality for the product page we wanted so we have used custom fields to add lots more info to our product page. With this app you are basically able to build any product page (or any page) inclusion you could think of, and everything is still editable. Plus its easy to use and integrate and customer support is always quick to respond.

Absolutely critical app for anyone who needs more than a simple product description. It extends Shopify in so many ways to fill so many functionality gaps it's indispensable. I have to admit I really don't like the new sidebar UI when editing products, you have to ensure your mouse is hovered over the fields when editing content and it's very frustrating when it closes so quickly if you nudge your mouse. Was significantly more usable and easy to scan what content was needed when your custom fields were appended to the bottom of your pages instead. Apart from that, the app itself is excellent. -- Updated to reflect answer about pinned mode - thanks for that, didn't know about it and totally appreciate it must be a moving target with Shopify code so once again, it's an incredible app and one I'm unable to live without and happy to pay for :)

Custom Fields is a good solution if you work with Metafields and many products which you often dublicate. I would love if the Google Custom Fields App would be add directly to the Shopify Product Grid but this is most certainly not possible.

Amazing app with the coolest feature being the browser plugin! Well worth every penny of the small subscription fee, especially if you run a store like mine where most items are one of a kind, and therefore lots of custom products need to be added consistently. I use Custom Fields & its associated Chrome plugin to easily add unique item specifics for products that are ultimately pushed to eBay, and this app presents the unique item specifics for each product based on the "Product Type" field in Shopify, all of which is easily customizable on the app's backend. Couldn't be happier, and my product listing is faster & easier than ever.

I am setting up my store and at the time of writing this am going live pretty soon. I have a fulfilment email I have set up and wanted to include some of the product detail in this email. The problem was there was a lot of extra information which was unrelated to the particular product detail I wanted to include and would have made my fulfilment email twice as long and very cluttered. As you will know, on the Shopify product page you get a description box and everything has to go in this. So I needed a way to split up the information into different sections or fields. Custom Fields has worked very well for this. One of the reasons I was attracted to Custom Fields was because of the automatic install. As I found out, not all themes are compatible though. My theme did not install automatically. Kenny in support was very quick to help and installed it for me. The support is normal office hours (not 24 hr) which I believe is a time zone in the USA. Because it was a manual installation – it meant that if I created some fields in other sections to the one support installed, that there was a small amount of code – basically one line, that needed to be cut and paste into a liquid file – which is quite easy. It took me a while to get my head around what was going on and the files that were involved. Kenny was always helping me out so I got there. Kenny has told me that within a few weeks or so there is a new upgraded version coming out which will allow new installations to work whatever the theme. Now (after setting up my new fields in Custom Fields) on the product page I have the original product description Shopify field, plus another 3 fields that I have generated with Custom Fields. Two of these are global, which means they apply the text fields I have set up to all my product pages simultaneously. Now when I set up a new product I can add a little info in the product description and the 2 global sections get added automatically - which saves me cutting and pasting the info in every time. Also it means that if I would like to change that information, I can do it in one place, and immediately it will update all of my product pages. The 3rd field I have created is more specific to the type of product and describes the details for that type. This I would like to set up with fields for each different type – then when adding a new product on a product page I would link the specific field from the Custom Fields app and it will display all the details I already set up (– although I am limited to 10 fields in the free version). I understand that this will be even quicker in the future upgrade - sometime in October 2020. My belief is that I could then have a field for each product type as before, but it could be set up to apply itself to all the product pages within a selected collection. That way every time I create a new product page, I would just have to assign the product into a collection and the appropriate custom field would display automatically on the page. I would not have to go into the Custom Field app and link up the product page to the field, it would just know this due to the product being in a certain collection and therefore be even more automated. I am just using simple text fields here, and there are many other fields and other functionality available so I have only scratched the surface. One thing to say on the free version is that there is a list-field that you can use and the help section gives you the impression you can use this to display bulled text lists. To let you know – this is not the case – you cannot create a bullet style list, but does allow drop down lists for selections or via radio buttons etc. If you have the next version up then you are able to create lists and more. So yes this works very well for me, I am very pleased. It has given me the ability to split up information into specific sections. It has allowed a lot of automation and an easy way to change information that is displayed on multiple pages. The support has been very good and I am looking forward to the new upgrade. I am using the free version at this time and it gives me what I need for the moment with some added bonuses I have discovered. I have looked briefly at some other similar apps and this does seem to be one of the best if not the best. I think the Custom Fields people are helping Shopify users out with this free version offering some great functionality and then as in my case as I get my store going and hopefully be profitable, then I can look at how to improve my store. With Custom Fields it is already installed so I am likely to go for the upgrade. It's a win win. Many thanks to the team for the app and offering the free version.

5 Stars all the way. What a fantastic app. Im not much of a "techy" and support has been incredibly helpful with the very specific customizations i wanted to add. They guided me through manually installing some code to get a bullet list to appear below my add to cart. Then directed me to some detailed, easy to follow CSS guides to style the Bullets to match the rest of my site. I cannot imagine the possibilities available to someone with just a hint of coding experience. This app could easily remove the need for countless others. I HIGHLY recommend you try out Custom Fields

The Custom Fields app solved a challenge I faced with my store, Showing estimated shipping time windows, however having explored the app for 24 hours I can attest it is powerful far beyond this. If I were to make another store on Shopify, I would install this app on day one, as it truly expands the possibilities for how the blueprint of your page and all your data is set up. Very powerful app. I've tried many other metafield apps but this app totally outperform the others. There are couple of features that I couldn't believe it has. Their customer support people are very quick at responding to my tickets. Usually I'd prefer Live Chat support, but their responsiveness kind of compensates for that. Don't take my word for it, take advantage of their 14-day trial, I highly recommend it.

This is an incredibly flexible plugin for Theme customization. The tutorials are great and once you complete a couple of them I realized how many more possibilities there are in combining different field types together with custom liquid. If you don't know anything about liquid I would suggest learning the basics from Shopify's site before trying this, but you don't need to know much more than that to realize how useful Custom Fields is. I used it to easily integrate .svg icons into my theme without having to hard-code my image sources and also to auto-generate tables of specs for my products within a tab. Custom Fields is a must-have plugin.

The result being a similar experience for the user in the design but with different data added by admin. I tried a number of apps first before stumbling on this one. Designed by programmers who are "modern" GUI designers. Orange colors, graphics are a bit oversize and clown-like, but it does everything it claims to do very well. As an old-school programmer, once you get past the graphics it is a more useful tool than the competitors. I like the ability to create a GUI to edit metafields. Works well for me, but tough to train end-users. All and all a good app that does what it claims.

Excellent app that provides a good balance between being friendly for merchants whilst having many advanced features that can be explored by developers. The Google Chrome extension is great and very easy-to-use. It's a huge plus over other metafields apps as you can make changes directly within the Shopify admin rather than being redirected to an app. Support was also fantastic in responding to a feature request which they implemented immediately.

I'm just getting started but the first thing I noticed about Custom Fields was the ability to actually search for products and then add the fields. Many of the other solutions listed products in lists, page by page or not at all. Bonify also responded by phone with a great overview of the product. Let's make this app grow so it will have even more cool features! Shopify should buy the technology for $1M and make it better but if not I hope these developers get enough users to make it worth their time to focus 100% on anything it can't do yet.
