Useful app with lots of pre-made reports and easy to make your own. Support is incredibly helpful and proactive in helping me create custom reports when I needed - Deepika especially has been amazing. So far, I haven't found anything this app can't do vs all the other (rather expensive) big-name apps which always get pushed. And as we are only an occasional user, it's so great to have access to the same features when needed. Great work!

My rating here is mostly about the Customer Service / Support / Help for this app. It is amazing !! They seem to be available 24/7, always seem to respond, humanly, within moments and are always quick and helpful with their responses. Many times I've been trying to find a way to add a couple of columns to one of my reports, usually columns that are not readily available as part of that reports normal columns, and they had helped me to add them and then waited patiently for me to check that the results are as I wanted. Always very polite and courteous, even though I might sometimes pester them a few times in a day because I've thought of something else I want to add. The app itself is also great. I do have one or two suggestions as to how it could be improved but all in all it is excellent - and pretty good value for money too.

We had a specific Shopify B2B requirement that several other export apps and providers told us couldn’t be done — exporting the Company ID linked to B2B accounts as part of our data exports. Absolutely not working as advertised. Good thing there is a 15 day free trial. Data does not regularly sync, it must be manually synced by the user. But then when I did manually sync the data, it still showed that orders unfulfilled which were. I asked for help which just pointed me towards the same thing I had just done. If this does not regularly pull order data on its own, then it's not useful to me, and if it is WRONG then it will cause costly errors when orders are fulfilled multiple times. I also couldn't easily make it do some very basic filtering to keep it down to only what is fulfilled from our shop and not by a partner. Uninstalled after one day.

We have been using this app for four years, and it has helped us immensely due to the amazing range of data it is able to combine. The staff are also extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The one caveat is that the default templates and dropdowns don't cover all the new features/issues introduced with Shopify's new Market/Catalog system (eg. differentiate between pricing types, specify different tax/duties etc), but the staff have been helpful with creating case-by-case fixes for the past few months, and I am hopeful they will introduce more default options soon.

UPDATE: 3 Years Later and we couldn't live without this app. I end up getting frustrated when other programs we use in the business can't generate date exports as easily and smoothly as Data Export. Even when we come up against challenges, the support team have logged on and built a solution for us before most companies have raised the a support ticket. Still testing but so far the support has been great and hopefully this will work. We are using the app to send inventory files automatically to SFTP so that we can automate wayfair inventory updates - thank you for your help guys!

We have been using another paid app to extract data and then, use Google sheet to convert the data to Xero template. It was the only solution we have and very time consuming. Recently, we came across Data Export app and it has Xero template. We request if they can custom our Xero Template and their CS was able to do it for us promptly and quickly. If you are trying to get useful reports out of Shopify, Data Export is what you need. You choose which data fields to see, and in which order, and not be limited by the default Export. You can save multiple reports that show you different views with just a couple of clicks. But the most unexpected feature is the customer support. They will help you build the exact reports you want, live in the chat! This saved me countless hours (no, days!) of learning new software. Longer changes might be emailed to you when they are ready, but most are done in a few minutes. Today I worked with Ameena, and was amazed at the skill and speed on display. Everything I asked for was clarified, built, tested, refined, and confirmed. There was never any sense that I was asking for too much, or being too picky. I felt like I had a private developer! We didn't stop until I had everything I asked for. My custom reports are going to be a joy to use.

Editing my review, unfortuantely. It has been about 7 months, and for some reason the past few months have been a nightmare with this app. It just stoppped working, and the customer service is horrible--seems like just AI, as we get the same responses over and over again, and they are working opposite hours so we don't get a response until 24 hours later, and no actual answers. It has caused hour and hours of work for my team. We used it for exporting hourly reports to google drive. I will no longer be using this app. My shop has been in business since 1968 without a POS system. I took over in 2021, and after launching with Shopify this week, we still had not solved the problem of how to change our restocking process from analog to digital. We are unique in that we restock the sales floor every hour, because if we didn't the shelves would be empty due to how busy we are, especially in the 4th quarter. I was FULL of anxiety about how we would find a way to modernize without making the staff feel overwhelmed with all the change. I finally did some research into reporting for a VERY specific set of info; I didn't need financial reports or all the hundreds of reports you can find in a variety of apps, but something that I could compkletely customize. The reviews were good and it was compatible with Shopify so I started a chat with customer service. Within 15 minutes I had the customized report being generated and integrated with google sheets. Staff can now access or print the restock report and do what they need to do just like before. It is a HUGE weight off of my shoulders. I can't say it enough how relieved I am.

I gave our rep from data-export a list of requirements and why we needed this data. What was presented was exactly what we asked for. After a few amendments it was perfect. Excellent app that is more thorough and customisable than the generic Shopify Reports application. The most impressive factor is the ability to schedule reports to be sent to particular contacts. Great customer support and very useful when you have the basic shopify plan. Especially for creating inventory reports. Shopify reports are too limited there. Unfortunately the inventory does not sync with Shopify. You get outdated stock information in your reports. I hope they are able to fix that problem.

--- Update Feb 2025 I just realized they updated their app offering different tiers. I've been with them almost 10 years. They put me on the top tier ($20/mo) when I'm only using bottom tier level of service ($5/mo). But I didn't even know they did this! Very frustrating! And my reports have started failing too! Maybe avoid? Also, unlike I said in previous reviews, I see nowhere to get support, they removed that! Very disappointed. --- UPDATE 10/7/20 Actually, I asked them to do something very simple. I simply want to reverse order the report by the date. Support said they would have to do that for me. Great. I assumed it would take 5 minutes. After realizing oh, they didn't do it yet, he said it would be 3 hours. Meh, okay, makes sense. Even tho it's one silly line of SQL, they should just offer that option as part of the app. I finally get an email *the next day* saying it's done. I test it and the report is indeed sorted descending, BUT THE DATA IS ALL WRONG! This really pisses me off. This is the smallest, simplest thing I'm asking (from my perspective, I understand I am biased), and they take a day to do it, then mess up my report so now I have to recreate it. This really pisses me off. But, on the plus side the support chat is very responsive! --- Old review from 10/6/20 I used this to send sales reports to my partners. It was a bit tricky to figure out, and it still is, BUT the support was SUPER RESPONSIVE and helpful! It's been years since I touched the app, but the reports have been very reliable and well worth it! I was just adding a new report (after years), and I was having trouble with a new feature, and the chat support WAS SUPER QUICK AND SOLVED MY PROBLEM QUICKLY! Excellent! I'm going to start making more reports for myself. Great app, great price (I think I pay $15 a month, I started early w/ them, they may have changed their price by now, IDK)
