They'll steal your money and your data. I paid for a 12 month subscription here and went to cancel with 4 months remaining in my subscription. They instantly deactivated the blog and refuse to compensate for the ~4 months I paid for. Sketchy, scammy developers. AVOID.

I had once been a somewhat satisfied user of Drop-in-Blog. But I've moved on. Drop-in-Blog seems rudimentary compared to SEOon blog builder (which by the way is free). Drop-in-Blog feels dated and limiting by comparison to SEOon. Drop-in-Blog is too expensive. And their 301 redirects for all of my existing blog articles is totally unacceptable. By the way, I used Drop-in-Blog for 11 months (as you can see from the review heading), so this review comes from genuine user experience.

For blogging on Shopify, numerous apps are required to add more features, and they charge monthly fees for these features, like the table of contents and SEO options. I decided to switch to DropInBlog to improve my blog. It looks much better and costs less because I could cancel many apps I used to pay monthly for. I plan to be more competitive in SEO ranking now as I go through my blog posts and update them with better SEO, thanks for DropInBlog. Support is also outstanding. In general, this app is only suitable for complete beginners, and it's best if your store doesn't have any existing blogs. If you need to customize blog pages extensively, I would suggest using a page builder (I won't mention the names of these apps to avoid suspicion, but you know, they're easy to search for), or just contact a web development team. Pros: 1. Easy to use, can quickly create a medium SEO quality, rich-media blog 2. Customer service is responsive, with a good attitude, and helped solve many problems together Cons: 1. Don't expect the blog pages to have many customizable features. Compared to the native Shopify blog, the biggest advantage here is just text-to-speech conversion. 2. The product placement function is very limited, basically only including product titles, images, descriptions, "read more," and "add to cart" buttons. If you don't have web coding skills, you basically can't modify anything. 3. If you have a bunch of old blogs, after importing them into this app, the same number of new pages will be created without any notice, with identical content. I think there is a risk of Google considering it duplicate content or spam, and if you later abandon the app, all these links will become 404, and you will need to redirect them yourself.

This is a great product. It is so good to know the SEO score as you write the blog. Not just the score, but it tells you what to do to achieve a great 90+ score. I am bummed. I set this blog up, worked hard to get quality blogs published. I noticed my free trial was set to expire, so I downgraded the free plan to the Lite plan to activate my account. Well apparently, because I did not want to stay with the pricier plan, they took my blog offline for a day, resulting in 404's lowering the rankings of my bogs and possibly losing me money. THAT IS NOT SEO FRIENDLY

absolutely not if you already have a blog. you HAVE to make all those blogs you already did put into 301 redirects. Nothing will update when you make changes unless you do that. The app is essentially something running on their system that you redirect to using your own website. they add code to your theme to do this. if you ever want out and use their service to make blog posts, you have to export everything by csv and upload it to your own site, which would mess up yoru seo by a lot. very archaic tech and not super useful if you already have a built out blog.

I have high expectations and the app works as advertised. That's great and all but it's also what I'm paying for. What's really awesome is the technical support. I like messing with CSS, layouts, all that. Sometimes I get stuck and when that happens, they seem to always be available to answer my questions. Blogs in general are very difficult to work with. This one isn't perfect, but the customer service is amazing. I've never worked with a blog where the dev team is so helpful. Nothing has compared to this. They help me so much with little things I need to learn to larger things, including tweaks to the code, video instructions, and they're so patient with me when I'm feeling emotional over the whole blog formatting thing. The SEO experience is wonderful. I feel so confident that I'm putting things together properly to get picked up by search engines. This might be the most useful app in all of Shopify.

5 stars on their customer service, as they were very responsive to a few questions I had. 2 stars for the software, as it feels a little clunky and doesn't separate itself from apps that have free versions. For instance, you can't change the font (that I've seen), but that's standard free feature in a competitive app. Images are difficult to place and wrap text around (really made an awkward preview for Mobile viewing). The ability to upload a Shopify product into the post is helpful. All in all, can't justify the monthly price tag associated with the app.

It's a great app that makes blogging on Shopify easy. It's not as robust as blogging on WordPress, but it's a solid app. I tested some other Shoppable Blog apps, and DropInBlog was easily the best. This app is exactly what I was looking for to incorporate my blog in my Shopify store. I previously had a Wordpress blog but did not want to direct customers to leave my store to view my blog, so I just settled for the native Shopify blog but was unhappy with the appearance and navigation. With the app, you can categorize your posts, easily add products to the posts, and also promote related posts. I like that the app includes the most important features of my Wordpress blog in an easy-to-use format that lives on my storefront. Everything looks very nice and the app is easy to use. Support is absolutely wonderful and has promptly helped with any questions I had. I highly recommend this app for your blog!

I love this app! I am a newbie to the Shopify platform and struggled with their blog features. Coming from a Wordpress background, I was shocked to see how utterly pathetic the native blog is that comes with Shopify. I contemplated doing the subdomain Wordpress install and attaching that to my Shopify site but then realised that it’s not the greatest solution for SEO etc. Searching for an answer, I came across DropinBlog and thankfully someone has the sanity to create a blog app that is actually worth having. DropinBlog is so easy to use, it has a built in SEO analyser which is like having Yoast if you are familiar with that in Wordpress. It has a nice interface. Easy to set up categories, authors, users, set scheduled posts. The editor actually has some decent features including being able to add video - yay! As well as products. Really easy to use. I think there are some features it could really do with, such as being able to bulk edit posts - if you had a lot of posts this would save so much time. Also it would be lovely to have more image presentation options, like a carousel gallery for example. Adding images into a table is a bit clunky at present. On the whole, I’m pretty happy with it. It is a solid alternative and is waayyyyyyy better than the native shopify blog. The customer support is really good too and highly responsive. I’ve just kept off one star because of the lack of bulk editing capabilities. Also I think the price is a little steep but as there isn’t much else out there, I think I will have to swallow that for the sake of good SEO. In general though, I really recommend this app. It’s really nice.

Really pleasantly pleased with this app. Coming from a WordPress background, it has many similarities, so does feel nicely familiar... like putting on your favourite pair of slippers. Still in the early stages of testing it out, but so far so good, and works nicely in Shopify and takes on our theme. Support are excellent. I couldn't work out why things weren't looking like I thought they should or wanted them to look and reached out. Hamza was super, took a look at what I'd done and pointed out where my errors lay and how to fix. In fact, he hopped on and sorted the coding out for me (a god-send if you're not tech minded). Lots of good articles to read for hints, tips and helps. Can't give 5* yet as haven't fully integrated it, but initial trials are very positive!

I am all about commending this app as a great app for blogging. The interface is very easy to use. I have tried many different blogging apps and overall, this one is in fact the best. Whenever you install an app, you usually get the email that says, "Thank you for installing" and "If you have any questions..." and "Check out our website for more information". However, with this app developer, they spammed the heck out of me, with 10+ emails about thanking me for installing, and other associated content. I pay for an app to help build my business, but way too much spam and while the developer may want to communicate, excessive emails shows me the developer is a little narcissistic of the app. My recommendation is use this app and it will help your blog, but unsubscribe from their emails as soon as you install it or be warned you will get a ton of spam.

I installed this app about 5 days ago. It's well thought out, well laid out, easy to use and has a couple of features that are potential game changers for shop owners - the live SEO Analysis helps you learn good content writing habits without it being onerous, and the Embed Product facility makes it very easy to add previews of your products, within your blog posts. The appearance of published blog posts is seamless with your existing theme, which is a big plus. Another plus is that you are not using a sub-domain. Your existing blog posts can be imported into the app with one click and that only takes a few minutes. One downside, for me - I was surprised that there is not a native comments system included in the app (you can easily add Facebook comments or Disqus, though). The app is a big leap forward over the built-in Shopify blog for content management and SEO, it is easy to set up, has some really clever and productive features and is a pleasure to use. However, pricing is definitely 'premium' so you will want to make sure that you are blogging regularly and that you are using all the features that you pay for (depending on which pricing tier you go for).

I have been using this App for over 2-months. It is easy to install and get up and running. I did use support because I noticed that the Page Title was not pulling in the title for SEO purposes. James solved it within minutes because some code was not installed correctly based on the theme. A couple of discoveries, when adding video make sure the video is less than 1 minute this is a Shopify limitation. The b log sitemap link is /a/blog/sitemap.xml, make sure to add that to your google search console to crawl for faster indexing.

he customer service is awesome and fast. They managed to customize the CTA-Buttons and even know CSS. The software is also very good (especially the SEO features). What could be improved is the editor. E.g. the automatic table of contents is not nice. And I would love to have some features to make the blog page look awesome (e.g. switching background colors for a single text box). Still 5 stars!

I was looking for a blog app that was easier and more flexible than the Shopify blog editor. This app is certainly easier to use and if you have any experience with MS Word or Google Docs the interface will be very familiar. It is nothing really fancy but it allows you to easily create blog posts that conform to a standard style and keeps them looking clean and easy to read. My only issues with the app are: 1. The app replaces your main Shopify blog page with a different one which you then link to from your website navigation. This is fine EXCEPT for the fact that this page doesn't show up anywhere in your Shopify page list and therefore you cannot edit it. I wanted to add a banner to this page and was told that there is no way to edit it. 2. The way fonts behave is a little weird at first. I think it pulls fonts from your Shopify theme but for some reason the text looked weird, either way too big as a headline or way too small as paragraph text. I checked my Theme font and these should have been fine so no idea what was happening. I found a workaround which was to set the DropInBlog text to "preformatted" and then set the font and size in Google Docs and copy paste it into the blog. This seemed to keep whatever was in Google docs. For the time being it is good enough for what I need it for but I hope the developers add some more functionality in the future.

Only thing a bit lacking is the ability to control the front end display to the customization level I wanted. I spoke to the app developer and he explained how their focus isn't so much on display customization, but more so on appearance across numerous devices. I have been looking for a better blogging platform than just the inbuilt Shopify one for a while now, and it was important for me to have SEO insights and an easy to use editor. I was initially attracted to DropInBlog, after seeing a few examples - the blogs looked great, images were handled really nicely, and it had all the features I could want. However, what sold me was the incredible customer service. I wanted to feature my 3 most recent blogs on my homepage, which is built in another app, so the developers wrote some custom code within about a day and allowed me to embed my recent blog posts with ease. Really great service, great app, and a really awesome writing experience. No complaints!

The best part about this app is the phenomenal customer service. The app itself is very limited in terms of formatting and not the most intuitive. I use this app to produce a monthly magazine with my blogs. It suits its purpose really well and once you get the hang of using it its really straight forward to use and the guidance around the SEO is fantastic. A few things have been tricky to work out and there is the odd thing like formatting of text that could be better but I have to say above all the customer service has been exemplary. I get a quick response to all my queries and every time they have managed to sort any issues or queries really quickly. I'd definitely recommend this app!

You can write blog posts, and they look okay when you post them. They have three layouts to choose from for the blog listing page (2 of them are terrible). They try their best to offer a decent onboarding experience(it's not good, though). My biggest issue is the price. $50/month is an insult for the tiny feature-set it offers. The SEO features are a gimmick that don't work properly and have questionable value. The actual experience of writing a blog post is terrible. You have no way to customize the appearance or layout of your blog posts. The actual blog creation interface is a run-of-the-mill editor they copied and pasted from some open-source platform. It's a real hassle to use.

EDIT: After trying it some more, I can say I recommend the app. The developer implemented the missing functionality I was missing from the app, and it works great! It's really the only blog app out there that works to an acceptable degree, however, I still think it's too expensive. There should be a cheaper option, but there is a 14-day trial so definitely try it! The support team is also very helpful, although not available 24/7.

This app has been a major gamechanger for my client's blog. I'm their SEO expert and using the out of the box functionality of Shopify isn't always great. The DIB helps the client take better ownership of their SEO and make the overall look and feel of the blog so much more professional and polished. Plus, their customer support is very helpful. For a long time the SEO features and power of the default Shopify blog have been lacking and the only alternative was to hack together a Wordpress installation on a subdomain (not ideal). This is a very user-friendly app for adding a blog to your store. Simple, clean, and easy. Similar to Wordpress, but more approachable. I love the feature for dropping in products directly in your posts, complete with an Add to Cart button. Also, I don't keep up on SEO because it changes so much, so the built-in SEO report card is a great way to make sure I'm keeping up on best practices.
