The worst customer service experience I've had!!! The #Recently Sold Counter and Social Proof Popups Widgets aren't working on our website. We've contacted customer support about this issue. Here's their response: Hi there, Thanks for reaching out! Those widgets are legacy widgets, and they are already discontinued. We are now focused on review widgets only. So far I am happy with 100 reviews for $9 (I had to message because it was showing up as $30 as first). Its much prettier than Yotpo. Yotpo dropped the ball on support. It was somewhat easy to put this app up and running but I did need help on a lot as it's not that easy. I was able to set my colors coordinate with my logo. I was able to load all reviews on every product but those reviews do not link to the exact product. The collection page will allow reviews per product with product review widget and links to the exact review of that exact product so happy with that. I also made a separate page for store reviews which only have 3 reviews and put that page in my footer and use the store reviews carousel widget for the page. Overall great app, great customer support even when closed until Monday they replied. Give this app a try. April 2026 Still going strong with great customer support

We’ve been using Fera for a while now across multiple stores, and unfortunately our overall experience has been disappointing. Positives: The long trial period is definitely a plus. Frontend layout, emails, and widgets are beautifully designed and look very professional at first glance. Negatives: Performance & usability The app feels slow and sluggish in daily use — pages take a long time to load, and there are constant annoying popups. While feedback is acknowledged by support, it rarely translates into actual improvements. Persistent overlay issue. Across all our stores, an overlay repeatedly pops up suggesting a language change. It appears on almost every page and must be closed manually each time. Support has been aware of this for a long time, but the only workaround offered is to use Fera outside Shopify via their own website — completely impractical when managing multiple stores. Translations are a nightmare Managing translations is extremely cumbersome: They’re spread across ~15 separate pages. Every save sends you back to page 1. You can’t jump directly to a specific page (e.g., page 8) — you must click through arrows, with only four pages visible at once. Keyword search only works in English. There is no CSV import/export option. Even worse: if you do request a CSV export, it’s done manually by a Fera employee. This takes hours, and you’re asked why you need the export. That’s none of anyone’s business and feels extremely old-school. Review management limitations Approving and especially deleting reviews is far too restrictive. You can’t simply remove a review without notifying the customer. While this may be related to Google guidelines, as a store owner you should always retain full control. Sometimes reviews are simply false or malicious, and there should be a fast, frictionless way to delete them. Major workflow issues New products created by duplicating an existing product automatically receive a 1-star rating. Removing this requires repeated support requests. Fera’s own workaround is essentially to write reviews yourself. Creating product groups is unnecessarily complicated and only possible via tags or titles — not via SKU. This might work for small shops, but it’s completely unsuitable for larger operations. Because of all this, we’re now actively in the process of replacing Fera with another solution. Conclusion Fera looks great at first and has real potential in terms of design. But in daily operations — especially for larger businesses or multiple stores — it becomes a frustrating time sink. Slow performance, poor usability, restrictive review controls, outdated CSV handling, and unresolved long-standing issues make it hard to justify continued use. Recommendation: I would not recommend this app. It may feel promising initially, but in real-world, day-to-day usage it quickly turns into a challenge rather than a help. (Most of these issues were already reported to Fera 6–12 months ago, yet nothing has been improved since then.)

Super fucking scammy. Suddenly charged me after two years of being on a free plan, and now they are refusing to refund me after charging WITHOUT notice. They sent me a screen shot of when I used the app for a month in 2023 as justification to charge me without my permission. Completely giving me the runaround and stealing. Would give 0 stars if I could. Working with Shopify because it's something Fera has done often recently and have had to step in to retrieve refunds for small stores like mine

UPDATE (AS OF 2 DECEMBER 2025) I definitely DO NOT recommend this app anymore as despite being a high-tier paying loyal user with their company for many years, they have recently discontinued the "Show Social Proof Popups" feature silently and without informing store owners about it too, until I asked the chat staff. I was totally appalled at how I'm being treated and it's no wonder our sales have suddenly saw a sharp dip due to the 'facade' of inactivity around our website store. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Been a user of this amazing app for many years now and I couldn’t recommend this enough! Mercy, the agent that was assigned to me, was nifty and very helpful and polite and most importantly, helped me to solve the problem of my widget not popping up for my mobile site and I’m very pleased with her work!

If you want a reliable and stable review platform, stay away from this app. Our reviews have been down for 3 days due to slowness issues on their server, which is likely causing the widgets not to display. We keep receiving the same response every time we contact them, and they still don’t know how to fix their own server in this AI era. What a shame. We are considering switching.

What a phenomenal support! I spoke to a REAL person and not a bot. In about 15-20minutes, Roel helped me resolve some programming issues, guided me in some backend configurations I was struggling with. They have a super feature which is for customers to review the store itself, which is great if you have a physical store or provides services such as workshops like we do. My previous customers have a link they can leave a quick review and it's working so well. Super recommend it Even though I use another app that has product review as one of their offers, I rather pay extra to have the reviews done by Fera. Amazing!

DO NOT RECOMMEND, use judge.me reviews instead. I’ve been using this app for 4 years, but I’ve now decided to switch to a more affordable alternative. After canceling my plan, I was immediately locked out of the app — even though I had already paid for the current billing cycle and should still have access until it ends. This feels unfair and unprofessional. If I paid for the service, I should be able to use it until the period I paid for expires. Very disappointing experience after years of loyalty. Edit after their reply: They are completely lying. It took days for them to reinstate even basic access, despite multiple complaints to their customer service and also to Shopify. However, the access they provided was useless—it wasn’t at the membership level I had paid for, which is necessary to operate the app normally. The app remained completely unusable, so they were acting in bad faith, and as you can see from this reply, they still are in bad faith. Stay away from these people. In the end, Shopify itself had to reimburse me for the app fee, admitting Fera acted very wrongly, refusing to provide the service I had already paid for, and also refusing to reimburse me.

Support has known about this issue for a long time, but the only “solution” offered is to use the app outside of Shopify’s backend via FERA’s own website. This might be okay for one shop, but it’s simply not practical when managing multiple stores. Translations: Managing translations is very cumbersome. They are spread across ~15 separate pages, and every time you save, you’re thrown back to page 1. Jumping directly back to, say, page 8 is not possible – you have to click through with arrows, and only four pages are shown at a time. Keyword search only works in English, not in German. There’s no option for CSV import/export, which would make things so much easier. This issue has been raised with support over a year ago but hasn’t been addressed. Review management: Approving and especially deleting reviews is far too restrictive. It’s not possible to simply remove a review without notifying the customer. The $9 USD basic plan never stated there was a cap on the number of reviews. I quickly hit the limit after importing my Google reviews (and it wouldn’t even let me import my Facebook reviews). Then I was told I’d need to upgrade to a $60 NZD (or 29usd) plan, and eventually to $200 NZD — which is more expensive than my website and email platform combined, both of which are far more important to my business. I also couldn’t download my new reviews because a pop-up kept appearing, saying I had to upgrade my plan. I ended up having to manually type out all my reviews before deleting the app. I’ve now moved back to Google Rocket, which is free or just $5 USD for the upgraded version with unlimited reviews — a far more reasonable price.

UPDATE: After usning it for 3 years, it still works, but the price is too high even though they will give u a discount but $99 for a review app is too much from the beggining, and it's not even connected with so many options and apps as for e.g Juge.me and there you will only pay $15 per month. Wow! Where has Fera been all my life!? Before finding this app my reviews were very hard to find. My customers had to go to my shop page, scroll down to descriptions, see the small "reviews" text and click it to see others reviews and then click a second "review" text to leave a review. We have incredible reviews from our customers and I wanted them displayed front and center on the Home Page, by simply clicking on the average rating badge (stars) as well as on the product page. But the app I was using couldn't do this. I was about to design a new page to manually write out and display all of our reviews, which would not keep up with new reviews unless I manually added them. Fera to the rescue. They hit all the boxes and instantly imported all of the reviews I already have. I can even add my customer's photos to the reviews, which was not an available option to them before. If you have any questions at all, reaching out to their customer support makes all the difference. They put in the time to get the job done. This is very admirable. Something that would have taken me a week was done in minutes. I highly recommend using Fera.

I tried several review apps before and wasn't happy with them. Fera is the first I used that I'm super happy with. Very easy-to-use both on customer side and on seller side. Had all the features I needed (currently using the free version which allows only one widget: I chose the reviews widget). Great UI/UX, easily implemented within the site style - so it looks as a part of it - aesthetically, which was very important to me as a fine jewelry designer. They removed access to the plan and deleted all my reviews and completely reset my account, as if I had never used the platform. This kind of treatment is extremely disappointing. Après avoir utilisé FERA et reçu plus de 300 avis, FERA nous a obligé à prendre leur version payante alors que leur version gratuite n'était pas limitée dans le temps. Nous avons bien conscience que le système du gratuit a ses limites mais notre échelle de travail ne nous permettait pas de prendre leur version payante assez chère. FERA nous a alors obligé ce passage au payant, que nous n'avons pas pu prendre, en nous coupant tous simplement l'accès à l'appli. Nous avons alors demandé de récupérer nos avis mais FERA a refusé alors que cette option était bien proposée dans l'appli. Pas très classe de leur part. De plus, depuis un petit moment déjà, FERA avait utilisé un petit stratagème assez malin pour nous obliger au payant. Ils ont tout simplement ajouté sans notre accord un utilisateur supplémentaire à notre compte, ce qui en faisait donc deux au total avec l'administrateur, alors que la version gratuite ne le propose pas. Nous avions alors des messages permanents pour passer au payant. Il était alors impossible de modifier ce second profil abusif, ni même de le supprimer. Nous avions tenté une médiation avec leur service client afin de régler ce problème, mais comme de par hasard, celui-ci est devenu réservé aux versions payantes juste après... Petite cerise sur le gâteau, après la suppression de l'appli de FERA qu'ils ont eux-même exécutés sur notre site, leur CEO nous a envoyé un message nous indiquant qu'il était déçu de notre désinscription à FERA... Je n'ai pas répondu. Nous sommes très déçus.

Then about a month after that they suspended my account and tried to force me to pay for it. I had to reach out to support to export my reviews that I already had. What a pain in the butt. As store owners, we all know how frustrating a bad review can be — but I felt I had to speak up for others who might find themselves in the same situation I did. It's disappointing that there's no longer a free plan available. Honestly, it feels like the company is just hoping users won’t look elsewhere. That said, there are great alternatives out there. I recommend checking out Air Product, TYDAL or Judge.me — all of them offer free plans and, in my experience, work much better.

We went through a lot of review apps to find the right one after Shopify for some reason decided to terminate their perfectly functioning, free, review app. Still frustrates me to think about it. For my situation, I needed a review app that would let me just have one batch of reviews that show up the same on every page. Should have been easy, but it wasn't. Fera allowed it though and for a very reasonable 7 bucks a month. I wanted to get it dialed perfectly so I was able to work with Holden for days and he was so extremely helpful and ended up handling quite a few of my busy work tasks with Excel. Super cool. Appreciate that, Holden. Thanks again. This is how apps should all be run. I don't think you'll go wrong with Fera.

I had a terrible experience with the app. I have been emailing the company for over a week. All of my customers reviews that I received with using their app are gone. No one has returned my emails other than saying they will look into it. However, I still haven't received an answer as to what happened nor a refund for paying for a service from 2022-2025 and all my reviews I paid for are gone. If I could give the company zero stars I would. I just want my reviews I paid for back or a refund simple. They refused to do either and told me to start over and work give me a free month of service. Update: 1/28/25 fera decactivited my account and removed my reviews again after I contacted their company about a issue. And they gave me a hard time about a refund. Free month never used. This company robs other companies. Find a better company to work with

The customer service is also excellent, even though I am still on the free version. They quickly cleared up a technical glitch I was experiencing after reinstalling the app for the second time. The other review apps I tried were dismissive when I reached out with technical difficulties. I definitely recommend this app and would consider upgrading to a paid version as my shop grows.

I signed up in 2023, and had a great experience, until now. I was offered a free trial on Oct 29, 2023. I downgraded back to the free plan Oct 29, 2024, but was charged $99 for the premium version. I contacted chat support to have this fixed. They let me know that Shopify has to fix it. I contact Shopify, who lets me know that that is incorrect and that Fera needs to apply credits for the charge, and gives me all the documentation to give to Fear to correct the fee. I contact chat with this information, and all of a sudden, 40 mintues go by and no one responds to the chat. I ask what is the hold up? Usually, I can chat and have an issued solved in 5 minutes. But today, I am ignored for over an hour. Chat support comes and says they will review and get back to me. Another 30 minutes goes by. I ask when, he says he is swamped and can't get to me. I ask to be transfered, he says he is the only person online, and there is no phone number. Also, as I am on the free plan, when I went to Shopify's end in the billing settings, Fera is going to charge me $9.99 on Nov, 27, 2024 for a premium plan I DON'T HAVE. DO NOT USE THIS APP. Something is up, and there is no communication when they need to correct billing. I am so disappointed.

The app has developed into rather unfortunate direction. First of all, they put their logo everywhere. Secondly, it's hard to manage the reviews, you have to approve or disapprove and can't just delete the review or unpublish them. And the most important factor is the cost: it is too expensive for what it is. Compared to other aps that offer more functionality, better design and easier handling for free or for much much less, I see absolutely no reason in using fera app for shopify.

Makes it easy to import reviews from Etsy and Trustpilot although it is a shame it doesn't verify those from Trustpilot despite the apparent established connection. A bigger bummer for us is that I hoped it will be easy to import eBay reviews too but the only way one can do that is to use some Chrome extension to export to a CSV (pay that as well if you have many), adjust that to Fera's CSV template and import then into the app. These reviews will most likely be unverified too. However, unlike the Opinew Product Reviews App UGC app, the backend is intuitive and the frontend widgets appear nicely designed and you don't get the unnecessary "powered by" clutter.

I found this app through Google and I am so glad I found it. My only regret is not find it earlier. My store looks so pretty and it makes so much more sense paying for their fees over paying for trustpilot (extremely expensive and overrated). Money is not even the issue. In the end I found out how, different campaigns with different triggers, but then the systems keeps on sending the client to my home page in another language. This App got more annoying and obstructive the longer I used it. The monthly limit on the Free plan needs to be much bigger, especially when compared to other, better Apps such as Judge.me. This monthly restriction soon results in constant emails from Fera saying you've exceeded your plan and need to upgrade, and cost me many reviews at Christmas time. Fera also 'auto created' a default Incentive discount of £5 off, which meant I lost money when it was used. Very annoying. I didn't even know about it until too late. I may have considered upgrading, but it jumps to £29 a month - meaning it costs more than Shopify itself!! Where do these people get their numbers? It's way too expensive. Finally, when I tried to Export my reviews, this auto action was also Blocked by Fera - something that made me even more determined to replace the App. Instead, you receive a message saying 'a member of the Fera team needs to review it' and that 'if you don't hear from them contact support' etc. etc. Disappointing.

Reason: 1, in the number of reviews more than 2K +, 4.9 points above the Reviews App, the free version of the version is rare to import reviews without a limit on the number of; 2, multi-platform unlimited import reviews; 3, widget settings are very flexible, in the product does not have reviews when the product reviews are displayed, you can also not show completely! reviews plug-ins, flexible settings evaluation sorting method; 4, the most important thing is that I encountered some setup problems to send an e-mail to ask Feral, a few minutes to give me the perfect answer, this point is very, very good! This is a very, very good point! So we highly recommend that you install this APP!

Best reviews app ever. I believe it helped improve my store ranking on google. It also helped increase my visibility online 100%. As soon as I started receiving reviews from customers, my online sessions skyrocketed, sales grew in large numbers and everything looked up. They make it all easy and streamlined for you and the app automatically sends the reviews to customers. You could even add a discount automatically to the reviews. I can go on and on. Best by miles.
