The app is really good but the customer service is in a different league altogether! I don't use this app in the same way as most people might. My store is a Pet related business and I use this app to collect a dogs name and breed as well as the DOB. Over a few nights, Stu at customer support went above and beyond helping me to add additional features that I needed (metafields etc). Nothing was too much, even when I felt I might be becoming a pain with all my questions. Well done, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this app to anyone.

The app is easy to set up, the documentation is detailed and thorough, but our experience with support completely blew us away. Steve was extremely quick to respond to our emails and always had a detailed and relevant answer. He also anticipated our needs and proactively offered suggestions. Thanks to his help, we were able to easily set up a two-way loop with Klaviyo so that: 1) birthdays collected in Happy Birthday are transferred to Klaviyo and seamlessly attach to our existing flow infrastructure for birthday offers 2) birthday we collected thru our existing channels are synced back to Happy Birthday, so we can make sure we are not asking our return customers for information they already provided. Between the app's simple and lightweight design and unparalleled customer support experience, we are now reviewing other apps made by the same team and trying to find a use case for them. A good app to record birthdays, there are extensive settings for customization that are clearly displayed, the app is well worth the money. A shortcoming, however, is the integration of the birthday to the customer data in Shopify, here the workflow can still be improved significantly, but still 5 stars, the support is top fast help to the point. Honestly I could not be happier with this app and the support team! Steve spent weeks working with me to get 2 way intergration going between the Happy Birthday App and Mailchimp so that customers still get the custom coupon when they signed up via the Mailchimp sign up with their birthday, or even when they update their birthday on their Mailchimp profile. We've been using the app for about 6 months now and have really like it so far. The design of the actual email was limited, but the theme developers will let you use your own coded email if you send it to them. Also, the customer services is really fast and helpful, which made everything super easy. Sales have been steadily growing without having to manage anything since everything is set up. One thing to consider, you'll want to send a follow up email reminding your customer to use their promo code, which can't be done in the app so you'll need to set something up through your 3rd party email provider (e.g. klaviyo).

Definitely recommend it based on my experience so far. Just installed Happy Birthday Email....couldn't have been easier. On the first morning we collected birth dates from customers through three different paths: our Shopify POS system in the physical shop, the online order confirmation page, and the landing page on our website. 8 down, 2000 to go! Haven't sent the Mailchimp announcing our Birthday Club yet but hoping that will drive hundreds through the landing page. Defining the birthday gift offering was super easy and integrates seamlessly with the Shopify exclusive discount code feature. The Shopify POS integration is also really well done. Our staff got it immediately. Our shop is a community place for knitters and they drop by at any time even when they're not buying yarn. But we're using the POS order process with $0 to help them all join the club. That was easier than having the landing page open in another iPad app just for birth date entry. You have to accept some delayed gratification because it will be months before we have metrics on how our "Club" is working for us but I'm optimistic and with "Happy Birthday Email"....the price is right!

Holly shit, I've been looking for something like that for ages, there is no way on Shopify to conveniently ask for customers birthdays. these guys made it..... it has around 35% CVR for me. If you're not at least using the free version you're literally leaving money on the table. Steve, Sam and the rest of the support team were awesome helping me figuring out everything and are open for new features and suggestions, the integration with MailChimp(soon) and Klaviyo will make you so much money. Even if you're not sure about it, just use the free version and slowly but steady you'll see the power of this app :)

Sure you can capture birthdays in a variety of ways and automate emails to your customers without this app. But the ability to create and email a unique coupon code for those customers and set it to expire X days from their birthday is what's really needed to run a successful birthday discount program and that's where this app becomes indispensable. Support has been excellent so far too - I emailed with a request and not only did they resolve my issue within 24 hours, they updated the app for every other customer to improve it based on my suggestion.
