Locksmith provides an elegant solution to make parts of your store more private and/or secure. It's technically sound, and the team provides rapid attention when needs or issues arise. It works if your needs are simple or if you have complicated things you want to lock up. I've worked in enterprise systems for a long time and am quite impressed by this tool.

After i've uninstalled it, some code was still present in my theme, and it was showing error for customers that found me via google. They could not access products at all, it was showing error. I had to install the app, disable it in the settings, and then uninstall again. Lost a lot of money because of that.

Great for two reasons: 1) The app works and is very easy to implement. Does exactly what is needed. 2) The "pay what feels good" pricing method is great and they are actually open to reasonable pricing suggestions. We suggested another price, still reasonable, with our explanation why we felt it was fair. Very quickly, we could come to an agreement about a monthly price that suits both sides. Would recommend this app. Great app, great support.

DO NOT USE. We tested this app with a select group of VIP Pros for two months but ultimately decided against it due to the steep pricing structure. After canceling our subscription, our website immediately experienced significant issues. It took our IT team three full days attempting to remove all the leftover CSS. Eventually, the damage was so extensive that we had no choice but to duplicate our theme entirely.

Darn Locksmith for being too good! Due to Shopify''s fee structure on sales, I subscribed to a higher plan than I probably needed. Which meant that I was placed into a higher tier than I'd hoped for Locksmith. The dilemma is, I couldn't bring myself to reach out to ask for a lower price due to how well their plug-in works! You see, I offer custom products that I only want people to be able to add to their carts (since I despise invoicing as I also have an expansive catalog) AFTER I send them back a proof of what I'd be making for them. Locksmith gives me the peace of mind of protecting my custom products from ordering ahead of a request which is invaluable. It also works with Shopify's app which of all the plug-ins I've had to subscribe to, is the only one. Alls this to say, if you need to restrict products, I HIGHLY recommend Locksmith as it's been invaluable to my sanity and business model!

Updated: Thank you for a very kind reply. I have updated my review due to the nice reply. However, the problem still remains after I click on the hide features which you are referring to. Old review: This app has been very expensive for us!!! The app allows one to make a locked shop. However, the products in that locked shop are not hidden. We tried the app for 2 weeks where we had a locked shop, but during those weeks we experienced a drop in sales of 20k USD. We wondered why this happened. Turned out people could find the locked store in Shopify search and of course people did not want to buy our normal products when they could find the cheaper products in the locked store. Until hiding the products and the locked site, I would not recommend this app.

Terrible experience with this app. Firstly, the private link cannot be used in Klaviyo, so did not work as intended as for its promotional purpose. Now the apps installation has made our Shop sales profile become unapproved stating: Your Online Store is currently using password control or age verification app(s). To meet the requirements to Sell on Shop, please uninstall these apps. This is a catastrophic issue to be caused by using this app and is a massive regret in doing so.

I purchased this app after using 4 days of the 15 day trial period. Coming in, I had three specific goals in mind for my wholesale store. I read the articles provided, added the locks and keys as described and it didn't work. After several back and forth emails with Tristan, he pointed out my errors, I corrected them and we had two locks working. More emails, he sent line numbers of code in my theme where manual changes needed to be made. Third lock is now in place. The locks I wanted were implemented, the level of support provided to a trial user was exceptional - including messages received over a weekend. I'm a customer now.

OMG. Locksmith is an ABSOLUTELY AWESOME SOLUTION AND A GAME CHANGER TO SELL DIGITAL CONTENT BEHIND A PAYWALL. This app easily and quickly enabled me to implement a paywall and seamless checkout experience. Now, my customers can pay on my landing page, receive an email with the link to access my content and locksmith automatically checks that the email they are using to log in belongs to someone that already paid for such content. If it checks out access is granted or denied otherwise. Also, my users pay for 1 month access each time they pay. Locksmith makes it easy to automatically cancel their access after 1 month. Locksmith works seamlessly with Shopify's new user registration. This means that instead of having to ask users for the old school annoying registration (first name, last name, email, password) they only need to use their email to register. This cuts down the time from buy to accessing my paid content by like 80% and only requires one email instead of three. Shout out to Tristan on the Locksmith team who quickly assisted me with recommendations, documentation and super useful ideas. Shopify tech support recommended Locksmith and Tristan really knocked it out of the park. Thank you!

I don't typically write reviews, but this app deserves it! This app is exactly what I was looking for to separate wholesale from retail. Originally, I thought setting up a wholesale channel on Shopify would be easy - and it probably is, if you want to pay the $2000+ a month for Shopify Plus. At the price point for this app, it cannot be beat! I needed to set up a separate area of my site that was only visible and accessible to approved customers using customer tags. Installation of the app and setting up the initial locks was super simple. I had a specific vision for how I wanted the wholesale channel of my site to be set up, including hiding checkout buttons and adding minimum order total requirements in order to checkout. This did require a little more coding that I am not exactly familiar with, but seemed to be no problem at all after reaching out to support! Tristan was quick to respond and install the additional coding that was needed to bring my vision to life! Tristan understood exactly what I was trying to accomplish and even suggested to add additional coding to ensure there were no loopholes that would allow wholesale customers to checkout without reaching the minimums. The customer service from this app was top notch! If you're looking to set up a wholesale channel on your site, I definitely recommend this app!

We have been using Locksmith for some six months and are delighted with both their app and their support. Our queries in advance of launching the app were handled very quickly and efficiently and we have found Locksmith to be the most responsive of all the suppliers we have had contact with. In particular, they read our requests and respond appropriately to them – what a delight after dealing with so many companies who half-read requests and churn out standard, unrelated responses! This week we asked them for help with an issue on our pricing display. Ken responded within six hours (an excellent response time compared to our normal experience) to clarify one point and suggest an extra improvement to take our site even further. Nineteen minutes after our response he had the solution live! Another price display query arose around the same time, and Ken kindly resolved that for us equally efficiently. We truly recommend Locksmith and we really appreciate all Ken’s help. I don't think we have ever before received such a prompt, efficient and effective response to any support request! This app has caused me more bother than good. I would not recommend downloading locksmith! After downloading locksmith it has caused my products to be showing out of stock despite them being in stock. This has caused huge loss of sales. I love this app so much. I do a lot of fundraisers but customers like to see what their listings will look like before the fundraiser starts. This allows me to lock all their products so only they can see them until the fundraiser starts. I also use this for specific customers who get a discounted rate on their own merch so their employees can order directly through me but get the discounted rate. Recently I had an issue where I wanted to lock my NSFW items so that people had to verify their age before viewing. (I do school fundraisers so this is important to me.) I reached out and Tristan helped me make sure it was set up correctly and working. Very fast, friendly replies. This is such a great app!

I had great hopes for this app. It was easy to set up and I wanted to use it to lock one of my products - and make it only accessible to people with the 'secret link'. Sadly, it did not go well. People who had the link and purchased were not tagged with any Locksmith code, but everyone else who didn't have the secret link did had locksmith code added to their details. Someone who did not have the secret link was able to purchase the supposedly hidden product. I contacted customer support and they took over 24 hours to come back to me - with an answer that showed they had not read my question. Finally (over a period of days) they did help and the person was very nice, but the problems remained. Then I deleted the app but the code remained - my fault and they told me to reinstall the app and then disable it first. Which I did. Then they said they had to do it to remove code so I had to reinstall it a second time. They said they had cleared out all the code etc and I could delete the app. The app is deleted BUT now two days on I am getting random new customers having locksmith code applied to their details - and Locksmith is not even installed. I have contacted them again, but I know it is going to be at least 24 hours before I hear anything back to all. The app is a great idea BUT my experience of it is that it is not great to use. And I just have dread now as I read other reviews as to what other problems its footprint through my site is going to cause.

The app worked very well but when the trial expired, all my products got locked and were not accessible by any customers, even the products that were not locked. I had to pay a subscription fee to go back in the app and disable the locks. I was under the impression that all the locks would be disabled when the trial expired, which would be the logical next step. So I did not go into the app and disable it. After a few days, I realized all my products were locked and the app had disappeared. Cold sweat!!!! I did receive a warning email but it was not clear. The logical process would be to disable locksmith when the trial ends and let all products be visible again. They hold us hostage instead of letting us try the product and disable it when the trial is over. Not impressed by that. No amount of: "we told you by email" will make this process better. It feels like a scam to me.

Everything is perfect, I cannot find even any constructive criticisim to make. My supplier brought in new t+c's, which meant that 1 product had to be password protected, with specific customers details verified before allowing them to purchase. Locksmith support staff were able to provide me with exactly what I was looking for. The product page can be viewed by all, but a password is required to add it to the cart. Support was amazing, extremely prompt (within 1 day) and extremely detailed. Within 5 days (including weekend) of receiving the updated terms from my supplier, my websites are both now compliant thanks to Locksmith. Another great thing about them is their open pricing policy. I had a discussion with them about pricing and requested to pay a lower amount than is recommended for my store, since I have no intentions to use Locksmiths software for anything else across my websites, only this 1 product. They kindly agreed to the requested price, which is just unheard of. In the future I may make use of more of Locksmith's feature's, if I do I would be more than happy to increase the subscription amount as I have been amazed at the way they are conducting themselves. I have 100% confidence in them.

Forward compatible with things I didn't expect! My company started a relationship with a big B2C marketplace and, to my surprise, Locksmith is able to hide our non-public variants from the marketplace connector app! I need this app to prevent customers in certain EU countries from buying certain products. I had some trouble with setup as I wanted to hide the buy now buttons, rather than hiding the collections (which if this is what I wanted, is incredibly easy to do - the app is very user friendly). Jed has been incredibly helpful setting this up for us which means we're now good to go. Love the Pay What Feels Good ethos, and the approach to users is fantastic. We added the app for a certain purpose but I can think of a hundred different ways we can make use of it in the future. Fantastic!

With the app called: Locksmith, Shopify store owners can lock individual products, collections, product variants, pages, vendors, etc... It can even lock articles based on tags. Locksmith is all-things lock for all Shopify stores. I have not found any other app remotely as good as Locksmith. If Shopify store owners are serious about locking/securing their Shopify stores, they should install Locksmith.

We have been using Locksmith to setup a wholesale section on our store, protected by a passcode. It has been a huge asset for us. Once wholesale customers have the code they can log on at anytime and purchase our products, no need for emails back and forth or any invoices. A heads up that if you want to pay what you feel comfortable with, you have to email, there's no option to click on it. I am hoping that as we use this, our trust in Locksmith after a rocky start will come back and there will be no more blips in the system. ----------- We came to the end of the trial and told that i'd need to pay $99/ month. i only use this for one customer but because i have the advanced shopify plan it means i don't get to pay the $9/month, instead it's $99. I don't understand the jump in price. I emailed support but my whole website was shut down because locksmith wasn't being paid. i started getting emails and calls from customers as to why they couldn't order. i have never had an app stop all trade on my website. I have now paid the additional money because i couldn't afford to wait for support to reply to me. i dont know how many orders i could have lost out on.

I searched high and low for a way to make certain products unavailable based on the location of the customer, as for some reason that is not an option in Shopify. Locksmith does just that and it does it perfectly. It also makes it possible to basically create a wholesale section without the use of a dedicated app (so building one with Locksmith is a lot cheaper. Speaking of price, it's very reasonably priced. Customer service is a dream as well, I need a product page to be visible but not shoppable for certain customers and Ken miraculously made that happen, thank you so much Ken! Works well with lots of options for different scenarios. Can be complex to set up but if you have a question, a real person will respond to you very quickly with good advice. It's expensive considering that basic locking features should come with every Shopify plan, in my opinion. The search tool to start a new lock can be very slow, to the point where it freezes completely. Apparently this is a problem on Shopify's end, but I wish that there was a way to filter before beginning a search; such as, search only products (or collections) for the term ___. I also wish you could lock tags. All that said, we've been using the app for over a year now with no problems.

This app has failed at all levels. After about 2 weeks with this app and with support (which is just, meh) I am finding that this app literally does the opposite of what it is supposed to. Fist the support. There is support, but it takes a day or two to get back to you, even once you get started. I have been going back and forth with them because the items I needed to be hidden were hidden even after tagged from everyone. I was talking about in a search, not by just scrolling through the products. So when support told me that they were coming up by scrolling through the products I tested it and sure enough, there they were. But again, not when using the search. So then I opened up a separate browser and logged out and tested again that they would NOT show up, and there they were. So they don't populate in a search, which is what I need if the customer is logged in with the correct tag. And the items come up for all to see with no tag if they just scroll through the inventory. Now if they click on it it will prompt them to log in, however, there is my wholesale pricing for all to see. The reason for the second star is because they do have support. *Update* Removed second star because the support, even though it exists, is not that great. I ended up uninstalling the app.

We use Locksmith to provide a closed staff-only shop for our team. We have implemented a simple lock that allows only users with pre created Accounts tagged with access to connect. In addition it also limits by geo-location - we only want staff in one country to connect. If you READ the licencing policy correctly you will see that they have a fair policy. In our case we have a tiny number of customers, but need the bigger Shopify plan as we have a pool of people who sometimes look after Shopify. So we have been able to mix and match the pricing as we need. If we were running a higher volume store, we would accept paying more as the whole Shopify ecosystem is waaaaaaay cheaper than building a custom site from scratch!

This app has really helped us segregate parts of our Shopify store for certain customers by adding access control. The app has been working flawlessly so far, and we thoroughly recommend it. I also want to mention that, just a few days ago, I contacted Locksmith about an issue I thought I had with their app that caused customers to have to log in twice. Much to my embarrassment, this issue had nothing to do with Locksmith. Following this, a nice chap called Jed, regardless of the fault being with another app, went above and beyond to investigate, and provided me with detailed information as to which one of our apps was causing this issue and why. Many app developers would simply say 'it's not our app that's causing it' but Locksmith are not just any app; they're there to help their customers, and they deserve recognition for that. I think the app works fantastically! one thing I do wish was different was a "save" or "okay" button on the pop up window where you enter the password/criteria for a lock. I wish that when it is time to select which product or page that I want to lock, that it auto-generated. My having to type it out, scares me because if I mistype, the lock won't work. To prevent this I copy and paste the product/page title from a different tab, but avoiding this would be great. Still though - 5 STARS. ITS A MUST APP THAT WORKS FOR WHAT WAS INTENDED. I have used the original version of Locksmith on a site for 3 years. I set it and forget it. Now, on a new site, I see the price has gone up to a GREEDY level, considering everything Locksmith does you can do with 10 lines of code. The admin portion is also a disaster with so many helpful little things getting in the way of me just checking some boxes like a normal human being. Even the messages section took a step back, with just a paragraph of unformatted text, instead of a nice redirect to create an account or log in. Hipsters have to make money though so they can make hipster promotional videos.

I have been using this app to restrict access to certain products by customer tag. It has worked brilliantly. Today, I went to add another restriction to a new product, and the app was glitchy. It would not load. I immediately contacted support. Ken responded quickly to let me know they were working on the issue. Within a couple hours everything was corrected and working perfectly again. Things don't always go perfectly. The true measure of a good team is their ability to handle and solve problems as they arise. As such, I give the Locksmith team 5 stars. Keep up the good work.

So, after we were scrambling to implement an idea we came up with, which was to close off a section of the website to paid members only and trying many Shopify apps to achieve this, we stumbled across Locksmith and voila! Very easy to set up even for someone who is not computer savvy like myself. I did have a few questions for the creators and they answered promptly and accurately. The only complaint I have is that I believe it to be pricey, but I know developers have to eat too! (It says $9 a month but it ended up being $29.) It's ok, saved me an absolute pain.

If you let the subscription lapse they literally tell you that your content will remain locked UNTIL you pay them. Nobody should support a company that holds their customers' software hostage until you pay them. Locksmith is solid! I needed some very specific things to make my shop work. Locksmith provided what I needed easily. I needed customers to sign a form before they were able to buy my custom products so that we made sure that they understood the conditions. Our tab showed them the content form, the customer fills it out, and then new tabs appear on the navigation bar. Easy peasy. I was worried about people not connecting to our signature product so I had the navigation bar exposed but the products were locked without our form completed. People did okay with all this! We made it so that when International people came in, that they were greeted with their own page (and pricing specific for their area from another app). It hasn't given us any more international sales but at least I know I am doing the best I can. We made our wholesale area and a professional area only available to them. Mostly, I am writing this review because Ken did such a nice job of getting my form to do it's thing. Really, everyone at this company has a great manner and feel. Thanks to you all. :) Mimi
