Unfortunately, I’m very disappointed with both the Monster Cart app and the customer service. The app is marketed as an upsell solution, but it does not support true tiered upsells. For example, we wanted to offer one upsell when a customer adds a product to the cart, and then unlock an additional offer when they add the first upsell. This type of tiered setup is not possible, which was a major limitation for us. Customer service has also been frustrating. Response times are too long, and it often feels like a different person is handling the conversation each time. Instead of getting a clear solution, I frequently receive another question and have to explain the issue again. Overall, I’m not satisfied with either the functionality of the app or the level of customer support.

Updating my review as it's only fair. We did have an issue with our billing, but Ty has since reached out personally, resolved it, and genuinely went above and beyond to help. He stayed in touch throughout the process, explained everything clearly, and the customer service has been excellent. We're still using the app and it's been working well for us. Thanks again, Ty, for all your help! Original review - Decent app, but picked up that they are duplicating their charges every month. They charge a monthly fee + usage & a monthly fee again. I reached out to their support 2 weeks ago and keep getting a general response that they've passed on the message to the team leader, but still no response. Can you please refund and fix your charges ASAP? Check your charges on your monthly bill!

App is blocking the zoom feature on my store from working on mobile. I found this out by disabling all app embeds and restoring them one by one, testing the zoom feature each time. When I enabled this app, the zoom feature went away again. Reached out to customer service and that was useless. Decided to uninstall the app and found a free alternative while searching.

I just downloaded this app, actually started with another one but then swithced to this one becuase this one had more and better features such as the sticky add to cart combined with everything else. I've seen great AOV results historically using the Monster cart. I recently had an issue with billing and upgrading onto the V2 version (which offers a much faster cart), but I can say that Ty the founder is a class act and looked after me personally until the issue was fully resolved. I would rate this 10 stars if I could. This is by far the strongest cart upsell app on Shopify right now. Since implementing it, I have doubled my AOV, and it includes every feature you could need in a serious upsell tool. For a while I was torn between OCU and Monster Cart, but with their latest updates, Monster Cart clearly wins across the board. Customer support has also been excellent. Fast, reliable, and at one point I even had one of the founders, Ty, personally assisting me. 100/10. If you are looking for an upsell app that genuinely lifts AOV, this is the one to use.

The app itself is solid and works well once it’s set up. Functionally, it does what it’s meant to do and can be a strong part of a checkout flow. We initially ran into trouble when preparing updates heading into 2026. An issue locked us out of making changes, and early support responses suggested the problem was on our side, even after testing across multiple devices. That was frustrating at the time. That said, after we posted our original review, the owner personally reached out and the experience completely turned around. They acknowledged the issue, made system upgrades, and walked us through the migration step by step. The level of personal attention, accountability, and follow-through was genuinely appreciated. As a business owner myself, I know things happen. What matters is how they’re handled. In this case, the issue was owned, resolved properly, and communicated clearly. Because of that, we’re updating this to a 5-star review. The app is solid, and when support shows up the way it ultimately did, it makes a real difference. Hopefully this becomes the standard experience moving forward.

Looks cool but I kept experiencing huge delays between clicking the cart or adding a product and the cart actually opening. Chatted with customer service twice but they said it was functioning normally. Also ran into issues where items would not add to the cart. Had to stop using it. Not sure if it was my theme because other people seem to have a good experience with this app.

When I fist emailed the team asking them about pricing I got an email pretty quick, I emailed back to confirm a few things but did not get a response which was disappointing. In the end I decided to just try it anyway. So far so good, It was a little funny to set up. Overall though I just had to make sure I was going step my step. I had some issues with how the shipping slider looked and I was able to get some help on this which was great so I really appreciated that quick turn around. I have not seen any amazing conversations or increase as yet in AOV however, I am quite a new store and also I have only one campaign being used so these might be playing into that. I will see how I go and use some other campaigns and see if this helps with my conversions/AOV ect. would recommend trying it out and just seeing if it right for you.

We're looking at switching apps. This cart plugin has given away way too much for free to our customers. For example, if we have discount codes created in shopify and we have our monster cart setup to give a free gift if you spend $79, it's calculating the RRP and then giving the free item (worth $35) even after the client has used a 40% off code which brings their ACTUAL cart total down to $47.40 (not $79) but monster cart is still allowing them to get the $35 free gift. We now have to honour this and have lost out hugely on this. Their support is almost non-existent and I have had to work most of my issues out on my own because I get back emails saying things like "that's unfortunately not a feature we have", even though I've (in some cases) figured out a way around it myself.

I signed up for 2 Monster App Softwares to help my customer's Shopify Experience, as well as my company increase revenue and experience opportunities. I have built an out of the box store front that doesn't integrate automatically when you install and activate it... It's a decent application but some sections of the Cart Drawer have very limited options to customise. There is no option to modify the width of the Cart Drawer. Support seems to be non-existent and therefore we may need to uninstall it. $36.99 for only 500 orders? Ouch.

THIS APP IS FABULOUS!!! I tried a half dozen different free gift/upsell apps and none of them worked the way I needed, plus they were clunky and un-polished. This one does EXACTLY what I need in terms of handling Shopify discounts, allowing selection of free gifts, etc. And it knows to check whether people apply discounts or remove items so that the cart value falls below the free gift threshold. And I love that just about every element of the UI can be customized easily without css. Super useful. Fonts, colors, outlines, corner rounding, text, etc. can all be changed through the UI; and most elements can be easily hidden too. Finally, the customer support was fabulous, fast, and knowledgeable. They jumped right in to help me figure out the source of my problem - and were able to quickly identify the issue stemmed from a font incompatibility with my theme. I've tested the app on all the major browsers and all work fine as far as I can tell so far. Overall, two thumbs up and 5 stars for Monster Cart Upsell!

Great ability to customize to store colours and easy set up. 4 stars because I spoke with an advisor (they were super quick and wonderful) but the app limitation is that if you add a free gift with variants and provide the inventory amount with that variant, monster cart doesn't track that. So during a huge sale period you have to manually track how many free gifts have sold out of your available stock and then delete that product variant. This is going to be difficult for me as a small business during Black Friday with keeping an eye on the stock levels to have to remove the variant once it is sold out and make sure customer's aren't inconvenienced by adding the free gift to cart and then it actually being sold out. I was told this applies to any free gift, not just those with variants.

The dev team have been great at helping make tweaks to the design of the cart draw to help match my theme better and have completed the work almost instantly. For this I am super impressed. I have tried a few similar apps and Monster is the best for conversion. I have come back to them after trialling others. I tried others because the aesthetic customisation wasn't enough for what I needed but after coming back to monster, the dev team have helped better this time with all the changes I have needed for the cart to match my theme. Last time they said it couldn't be done but this time they have completed with no issues. I would love for some of the design tweaks to be built into the app but it isn't a big effort to give the instructions to customer service to pass on to the dev team. I have also has a lot of requests for them and they have done a great job completing them all. Overall this app is amazing and has definitely helped improve conversion and upsells. I will never delete it again now!

Amazing cart, does what it says on the tin. Really useful features. Super well done. Where this app is let down, from my experience just now, is its lack of developer environments. Meaning that, if you seek changes made by the developer, they cannot preview their changes unless they activate the feature on your live theme. For example, I enabled the Sticky Cart, which basically didn't work at all. It didn't appear at the right time in the scroll, and when it did appear, it would appear at the top of the page, blocking our navigation menu. I sought help from their customer service, and the developer had kept the erroneous sticky cart enabled on my live theme while trying to make the fixes. This meant that the faulty sticky cart has blocked customers from navigating our store. The developer also wasn't able to fix the issue properly, and kept the sticky cart live without checking overnight, so there was 1 night of customers who weren't able to navigate our store once reaching the product page due to the frozen sticky cart. Had a lot of drop-offs. I had purposefully kept the sticky cart turned off, knowing it had issues, but the developer continuously turned it back on. This specific concern may not be the fault of the developer, but more of the lack of "preview" environment of this app. Anyways, I will probably give up on the Sticky Cart and seek another app for it. I will probably get a reply that the sticky cart feature depends on theme to theme, and every theme is built differently. I get that, it's just that the correction of this wasn't handled properly. Overall, really happy with the Main cart, but terribly disappointed in the process of getting the sticky cart to work.

Worst support we've received from any app provider over the past five years we've been on Shopify. The app was breaking our 'Add to Cart' button so that when it was clicked, nothing would happen. It would take quite a few clicks at times to add an item to the cart, and even then our old cart would load, not the MonsterUpsell version. I sent a screen sharing video to support regarding the issue, and they said they'd get back to me in 24-48 hours. 48 hours past, so I followed up to see what the status was. Here's the response I received, "Our dev team and even the head dev already checked the issue and tried their best to make our app work in your store. But unfortunately, we can't support your theme and therefore we can't do anything from our end." Disappointing for sure, but I was understanding, until I went to uninstall the app, and saw that the dev team chose to leave the app enabled on our LIVE theme when they knew it was breaking our 'Add to Cart' button. First of all, they should have been testing the app on a backup theme that was not published/live, and second of all, they should have immediately disabled the app once they confirmed they couldn't fix the issue. That's just basic, developer 101 type of stuff. It just shows how little they care about their customers. I'll be finding another in-cart upsell app, and I recommend you do the same.

I had this app downloaded for a loooong time, finally took the time to set it up and I WIIISSSSHHHH I set it up sooner as it is unreal! It is soooo fast and quick, probably the fastest smoothest app i have worked with and genuinely makes our store look like its had 10x the amount spent building it. Huge shoutout to "Charlene" in particularly who has helped me more than any other support from another app. Should out to other team members and the dev there too as all have been great, "Shada" also has helped me many nights so bg shout out to her. Overall amazing i think i have asked "Charlene" a million questions and every time she has been hugely enthusiastic to help! 10/10 100% recommend!

I installed this app to offer free gifts with purchase.... There's was an issue with the free gift products showing up in auto collections...The app's solution to was to set the conditions to "all conditions". However, that's wasn't how many of our collections functioned. I had to change things (complicate them) in order to make this app work in my store. Other than that, the app works well and is fairly straightforward. Also, the customer service is pretty good, although the response times could be quicker.
