This app is just awful. 1. Keeps trying to push some free webinar. 2. Three boxes in the overview pushing you to "Create ad" 3. Endless little dismissible boxes and feedback requests that just come back on reload. 4. Instead of just letting people choose their primary market they infer it by looking at your backup market, then using the top level "Market" entry for that, then just pick the first country by ISO code, which for me was UAE. All my Pinterest products were just listed as UAE and in their currency. Then you can't just change this without changing your backup market. And their support just says "you have to change the Shopify feed settings". 5. "Learn more about the Pinterest channel." at the bottom links to a 404. 6. "Update billing info" takes me to Pinterest and my country is set to USA - maybe not related to this app but still... 7. "Pinterest automatically creates your product feeds from your websites and international domains. Only 20 feeds can be active at a time. Feed changes can take up to 24 hours to update on Pinterest." - It creates ONE feed, and the only thing you can do is "Pause" it. All we need was a simple CRUD here...

Waste of time. Unprofessional and contradictory support. Integrating this app resulted in a complete waste of hours. After a support agent promised a human review of our store, we received a generic, automated template 18 hours later permanently blocking our domain by referencing their "spam" policy. Labeling a fully legitimate, original e-commerce store as web spam—without any dialogue, specific audit, or right of appeal—is deeply unprofessional. Paradoxically, Pinterest’s sales representatives continue to flood our inbox with invitations to purchase ad campaigns for the very same domain. I am updating my experience with Pinterest Ads. After reaching out to their customer service, they ultimately understood that I had no intention of placing paid advertising. As a gesture of goodwill, they processed a one-time courtesy refund for the unauthorized charges. While I am glad this was resolved, I strongly believe a massive company like Pinterest needs to do a much better job of protecting its sellers. This should be a relationship based on mutual trust, not one where small businesses are caught off guard by hidden fees. --------------------------------------------- CRITICAL WARNING TO OTHER SELLERS: > Avoid connecting third-party auto-posting apps to Pinterest if you have a credit card on file in your Ads Manager. These integrations can trigger Pinterest's "Performance+" system, which automatically launches paid background campaigns with a default budget of $20/day without clear, separate authorization. When I initially requested a refund, support refused, claiming they were "standard charges" because the ads had already run. This system design feels entirely predatory and unfair to independent creators who are just trying to post organic content. Be extremely careful: link your store, but do NOT leave your credit card attached to Pinterest if you are using auto-post tools.

Absolutely unacceptable from Pinterest. I added my payment information and somehow ended up being charged for ads I never intentionally set live. I woke up this morning to find money had been taken from my account, despite having no idea any ads were running. At no point did I knowingly consent to spending money on advertising. If you're using Pinterest, be extremely cautious when adding payment details and check every setting carefully. No one should be charged for campaigns they didn't knowingly launch.

I don’t normally leave reviews on here but a fresh install of the Pinterest app on our Shopify store https://www.CraftedCoffee.co.uk went very smoothly. I would recommend doing on a desktop device, apart from the Instagram connection - that was easier using a mobile device, couldn’t get it to link on desktop. But overall the account setup took less than 15 minutes and our new merchant account was approved within the hour. Much better than a previous experience a few years ago.

So useless! The catalog uploaded to Pinterest has a separate listing for every variant, such as every single ring size! According to the Pinterest rep setting up our ads: "Running campaigns on a fragmented catalog would waste budget and deliver a poor experience to shoppers." The variant inflation we're seeing (63 products → 2,200+ listings) is a known challenge when item_group_id isn't being passed correctly. Please fix ASAP!

Can unexpectedly cause account issues We connected the Pinterest app to our Shopify store to sync products. Shortly after, our established Pinterest business account was deactivated with the reason “spam.” We didn’t spam users and didn’t request account closure. It looks like the automated catalog sync (many items created/updated in a short time) may trigger Pinterest’s anti-spam systems. Recommendation for other merchants: sync in small batches (e.g., one collection first), double-check titles/descriptions/URLs, enable 2FA, and keep the violations/appeal portal handy.

You'd be better off not installing this app. My account was unilaterally closed after being flagged as spam despite me doing nothing. As I hadn't tampered with the account, it's highly likely activity based on this app was deemed spam. It's odd for an official app to behave this way. I've wasted both time and effort. Furthermore, I was persistently pressured by a sales representative to register my credit card for advertising purposes. I found it questionable that I was told to register card details when I had no intention of using the adverts.

After that, I don't know what happened to my views & impressions, they dropped from 10 million monthly views to a few thousand. Now I am getting no sales from Pinterest. So now I am disappointed. "Last Result": We've paid USD1600 for 550 visits in 2 months and...1 Add to cart action with 1 order (USD15) and about USD500 for Performance+ campaigns with USD0 conversions. Before, we used Pinterest Ads time to time and didn't request anything except their standard report, but I've decided to check the results for Shopify's Performance+ campaigns. When I asked report on US cities and spent time on our website, your manager (Kylila P - Customer Operations) declined my request with comment: "most of the targeting breakdowns aren’t available for Performance+ campaigns, this limitation extends to City." Then we observed data from our hosting partner, who has confirmed that training bot visits ( from one city!) occur on the same days as your "Ads activities". I would never accuse you of this if your manager provided me with simple data on visits by city and time spent by visitors on our site within the framework of the Shopify campaign - but you stubbornly do not want to do this (I have been begging you for more than a week to provide them). In my opinion, you repeat the scam bot visit practice of Facebook, who attracted bots to our website for our money, and tried to hide it too. No more Ads with you! I don't recommend Pinterest for other Shopify businesses.

Our business has been in business since 2022 doing local craft fairs and custom orders for local businesses but only recently decided to start a website to help promote our business. In the past we didn't have a need for one but now we are trying to branch out and we are being shut out by your company because we have not had a website long enough. I don't understand how having a website for 5 months versus 9 months makes a difference. All you are doing is making it harder for a small business to become more successful.

I’m incredibly disappointed with this app. First of all, if this app is not meant for Indian users, then why is it even listed and promoted on the Indian app store? It’s very frustrating to download an app with high expectations, only to find out later that it doesn’t work in my country. The app description doesn't mention any country restrictions or limitations, and there is no clear information provided anywhere about availability. As an Indian user, I feel misled and annoyed that I wasted my time and data downloading something that I cannot even use. If an app is not functional or supported in India, then it should NOT be displayed on the Indian app store at all. This creates confusion and results in a poor user experience. Many users, like me, have high hopes when we see such apps being advertised or recommended, but we are often left disappointed and frustrated. I sincerely hope the developers take this seriously and either enable full functionality in India or stop showing the app to Indian users. This careless approach suggests that the developers are not considering users from other regions at all. My advice to anyone in India: **DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME** on this app unless the developers officially announce that it’s available for India. If I could, I would give this experience **zero stars** for its misleading nature.

Shopify warned me before I downloaded that the app was not compatible with their platform. That's surprising for a major social media site to not have a functioning app. Second, I can't use the app or do anything on Pinterest because my domain is too new. You have to have a domain that's older than 9 months. As a cybersecurity professional, I understand that younger domains are higher risk, but new does not mean bad. If there are no threat or phishing reports then what's the big deal? I received advertising credits that I cannot use now. I guess they expect me to sell my products on other platforms and then come back when the time is right, but in reality I'm just deleting my account and never looking back. This has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Worse experience ever!! I was promised help setting up a campaign (very difficult!!!). The help was not given properly. I spend by accident alsmost 500 Euro with 0 ROI as there was a technical issue. Pinterest did not connect right to the shop. And Pinterest and Shopify point to each other.... Everything is fully automated and their customer service is the worse in the world (not possible to speak to somebody, no number, no chat option....nothing only AI. Hi, I don't understand why you guys created a Shopify app does not work properly or can be configured properly. I have a few errors in the catalog and instead you just don't include these products, the Pinterest Merchant Status is suddenly set to “not verified”. This error as an example: Warning 155 Your additional_image_link values exceed the limit for additional images, so this item will be published without some of your images Limit entries in the additional_image_link column to 10 or fewer ----------------------------------------------------------- How the hell am I supposed to change anything here? I can't access any options anywhere via your weird app and influence this. This is really terrible.

Will change to 5 stars if all goes well. We want to like Pinterest, but 7/10 stores will likely at one point encounter the "Merchant Not Approved". Reason? Every newcomer to Shopify isn't an expert. As a result, they'll submit to Pinterest, only to find they weren't approved. The common reason? Their domain isn't old enough. We have one appeal remaining and we just began. We have 72K to invest into ads, but if we lose our appeal, it leaves us with a bad taste in our mouth, so we haven't gone forward in paying for ads on their platform (yet). There's a "threat" feeling upon going through the steps, as if we're walking on eggshells. A platform this big should be welcoming and open to helping new merchants. I'm a software engineer, and am astounded that this is the only app that allows limited appeals for new merchants. Pinterest needs to boldly specify or have something that reads the Shopify store's domain age, so that people don't feel discouraged right away like we did. We're extremely nervous and unsure whether to file an appeal now and things remain where they are. We have one left. We were sure we should have won the first appeal, now we're going to wait a year, maybe more -- not just to get our feed on Pinterest, but to pay for ads. We may allocate our 72K budget into Meta Ads instead. See? You just lost a major advertiser. The way Pinterest encourages advertisers is beyond strange to me.

I wish I could rate with 0 stars. Pinterest just doesn't want to help Merchants. I got rejected and I made an appeal asking for clarification and suggestion on how can I change my ads/products and they DID NOT help at all. Very hard platform with zero communication. I bet they don't even know what are the EXACT policies to approve something. KEEP AWAY. there are better solutions for marketing like TikTok google and meta ads
