Initially, I had great experiences with Printful. Unfortunately, the quality has gone downhill quite a bit. I usually use DTG printing, and there were 3 shirts a customer of mine custom ordered from me so they could decide what amongst them they wanted to use for a larger order. Something was wrong with all 3. Printful customer service was awful, they just sent links to articles about not guaranteeing the look with DTG printing, they blamed me for picking a dark shirt with dark ink, except the shirts weren't dark, and the mockups showed up with the designs being very visible. Then they said the mockups aren't accurate and are backlit. But, we use those mockups for our listings, so I don't know why they would stand behind a faulty visual. Also, one of the shirts had a large darker colored square around the design, looking like they used a heat press for a supposedly printed design. Customer service was unwilling to remedy the issues or issue any refunds. They did not take accountability. Printful is also going to be raising their prices for the 2nd time this year. It's time I went with another provider.

Overpriced merch means you make less profit while they gain, and of course you have to have enough money in your bank account to cover any customer or customers purchase. Which also limits growth and any potential development. Don't even bother advertising unless you have the funds to cover hundreds of customers at once.

Works great. Just make sure you have a funded account connected, else your order will display as "processing", but actually nothing is happening. There should be a better internal Shopify app warning when there is a funding account issue b/t Printful and payment account. I had customers waiting bc a CC had expired. Neither Shopify nor Printful alerted me. I had to "go and check" after orders didn't arrive.

Good integration--gives you lots on control on both the storefront and the backend. Super satisfied with the shirts that have been printed. Crisp designs and colors. EDIT: Now that I've printed multiple products, I'm noticing color and print variation between shipments. I'm having issues editing my designs across different variations--time consuming.

The Print On Demand combined with backend fulfillment is making it easier to run an e-commerce store. Since my store is new, I opted to approve all orders and pay for the Printful services on my end. This works fine for me at this point because total revenue are going into my Shopify account. When things go right, they go right. But when they go wrong, they go really wrong. Think of Printful as an extension of your business - at least that's the way customers view you. Printful's customer service is terrible - takes about a week to get a response and when you get that response, it's going to be your fault. I've been using them for about two years and a customer ordered a 2XL and instead got an XS. When customer service finally replied to my complaint a few days after submission, the answer was our products were synced incorrectly and we just needed to rysnc. How is that our fault? When you publish a product, Printful syncs your product to your shop. When I looked at our other shirts, sure enough I found the same issue. Resync didn't work. We had to delete the products and re-publish. Now, will Printful correct this order error? Seems they won't. I replied and asked for them to make things right, I received no response. I emailed them a couple of days later and still no response. Look, this is a better option then stocking inventory but this is the second customer service issue I've had. Just budget to eat the error because it's unlikely they will be there to help you out. 2 out of 5 stars because I don't want to be that vindictive. They still put out a decent enough service. Customer service is their weak link and it becomes yours too.

I've been using Printful for over 10 years and the first 9 were very good but they no longer offer live chat, quality control has gone super downhill and the carriers they use seem to lose a package every 7-10 days which is costing us bad reviews etc... so not happy and hope they get back on track or we'll be forced to go elsewhere. Our experience with Printful was very disappointing. When issues arose, customer service focused on blaming the customer instead of working toward a reasonable solution or demonstrating that they valued the relationship. We also discovered that important product sizing variations were only disclosed in supplemental product documentation as a footnote disclaimer, making them easy to miss during the ordering process. Details that can significantly affect the final product should be communicated much more clearly. Based on our experience, I would recommend exercising caution when choosing Printful and comparing other print-on-demand vendors before making a decision.

I've been using Printful for over three years, but my recent experience in June 2026 has been extremely disappointing. Customer service has been unresponsive and ineffective when trying to resolve a product quality issue involving inconsistent garment dimensions. Despite following up three separate times and requesting that the matter be escalated to a manager, I continued to encounter poor communication and no meaningful resolution. What makes this even more frustrating is that Printful apparently allows product dimensions to vary by up to one inch, but this information is buried deep within their product documentation and isn't made obvious during the ordering process. When I submitted the requested photo documentation showing the sizing issue, customer service was dismissive and seemed to ignore the fact that at least one measurement exceeded the tolerance, ignoring that the product was clearly defective. In my case, the sleeve opening was so small that an arm couldn't even fit through it. After years of using Printful, it's disappointing to see what feels like a significant decline in both product quality and customer support. Based on this experience, I'll be looking for a new print-on-demand vendor. I would encourage others to carefully review product specifications and be aware of the stated manufacturing tolerances before ordering.

Printful is extremely overpriced and makes it very difficult for sellers to achieve a reasonable profit margin. The pricing would be easier to justify if the product quality matched the cost, but unfortunately, that hasn’t been my experience. The embroidery quality is disappointing — there is visible stitching and white backing showing, which makes the finished product look cheap. The overall product quality also feels lower than expected. I also ordered a bag as a test product, and the material was so thin and transparent that it felt like it could tear easily. I am trying to leave a review so others are aware, but it won't allow me. On top of that, after placing a test order, I was charged $80 in duties, which adds another unexpected cost for both sellers and customers. Overall, the pricing does not seem to reflect the quality or the additional fees involved

Extremely disappointing experience. The platform is plagued with glitches, and customer service has been virtually nonexistent. As store administrators, we were unable to order product samples for ourselves due to a recurring system error. Despite raising the issue multiple times, we received the same generic, bot-like responses without any real assistance or resolution. We initially signed up with Printful after seeing promotional content on YouTube aimed at new Shopify store owners. We invested time creating our own designs and integrating them into our store, only to encounter problems when trying to place sample orders before launching to customers. Every required detail was entered correctly, yet the platform repeatedly generated the same error message. The lack of customer support has made the entire process unnecessarily time-consuming and frustrating. In such a competitive industry, customer care should be a priority. Unfortunately, our experience suggests otherwise. I would recommend considering alternative providers if you value responsive support and a smoother onboarding experience.

While the cost to ship and house the products are high you get what you pay for. The products are truly high quality coming from a store that has sold hundreds to unknown customers and if you have any issue you can chat with customer support and they will replace the products for you quickly and easily. They also have a lot of diversity from coasters to mugs to apparel and coming out with new products frequently.

for me it was very confusing from going from my email then having to design and then order but all in all not too bad, because the email doesnt nmatch the process of the oirder, it takes you to designing for your store instead of yourself

The mockups aren't professional quality, need to have more rooms and interior walls to set art in, had to use work arounds to add new variants to an existing art print product which was vry time consuming

Interface is inconsistent, you will be able to create a product and select all the variants but when you try to duplicate it half the variants will suddenly not be available in your region. don't bother with the AI chat support on their site, in fact don't bother with their human support either because both are absolutely useless. A terrible company to do business with.
