Joseph in support went above and beyond helping me today. I could not be more impressed with the speed of the responses and the actual fixes. Great app with some amazing features. Boost is a platform you can make your own allowing you to add more subscriptions as you grow your business. We have thousands of products across many different brands and categories, so effective search and filtering are essential. It makes it much easier for customers to find exactly what they're looking for by filtering products by brand, theme, colour, range, and other attributes. This significantly improves navigation and the overall shopping experience. The other day, we encountered an issue where the prices we had set in the marketplace were not displaying correctly on the collection page when the language was switched. When we contacted support, they responded promptly despite the time difference with Japan, and we were able to resolve the issue relatively smoothly. In the past, with other apps, it sometimes took about a week to resolve issues, so this support system was a huge help. We've been using Boost for quite a few years. While it is robust it's clear that this thing is held together by some bubble gum and masking tape. ANY CHANGE you want to make is THEME specific and you have to get a developer involved or their team. Want to block a page from appearing in the search results? BOOST has to change that manually. Want to automate things and use something like Launchpad to push a campaign theme live? YOU CAN'T. You'll have to enforce a code freeze, dupe the theme, get BOOST involved, and then manually switch it when it comes time for the campaign. They will have you in a timing and process chokehold. Look elsewhere because I know we are.

We encountered a bug with a part of our website that was powered by Boost AI. We reached out to customer service and got some very helpful guidance from the AI chat bot about things we could do on our end to help resolve the issue. After taking all those steps and still experiencing the issue, we followed up with the chat bot and were put in touch with the development team for personalized technical support. They promptly resolved the issue in a duplicate of our theme so that we could test and approve before applying the change to our live site. Very responsive and friendly customer support!

This is a very useful app to improve your store's search and filter functionality. A couple of features I need are not available but Oliver from the tech team has tried his best to figure out a workaround for me. Though there is a thing I need is still missing, which is showing images of product variants based on more than one filtering option. The customer support is great and I look forward to when this feature is developed.

Be Warned - Expensive Setup, Poor Customer Service We chose Boost and paid for the Professional Plan plus the $500 setup service expecting a complete implementation. Unfortunately, key work is still unfinished and support from the Customer Success Manager has been non-existent. The developer we were working with has clearly been reassigned elsewhere. Given the additional fees for setup, premium support and customisation, this has been extremely disappointing. Boost is a powerful product, but it’s pointless if you can’t get the styling and configuration aligned with your brand. We chose Boost over a competitor because they have a UK presence and were extremely enthusiastic during the sales process. Unfortunately, once onboard the level of care dropped off significantly. After investing significant time and money into this platform, it has also been impossible to reach a senior manager to resolve the issue. At this point we simply want the level of support that we are paying for.

I installed the app and the display of the collection pages was messed up (we use Minimal theme). Contacted developer via email and through a support ticket and did not hear back. After leaving a less than positive review they responded almost immediately. They had replied on 1 February but we did not get that reply. They resolved the layout issue very quickly and now everything looks great. UPDATE - 11 Feb 2022: Continue to use the app and now on the new Shopify Dawn theme and it works great. The support is superb - they reply quickly and resolve issues promptly which is obviously very important. UPDATE - 15 Feb 2026: I continued to use the app for many years and it worked well. But it has become too expensive for what it is for me. I tested the Dawn theme with the built in Search & Discovery app and can get it to do most of what this app does. Maybe it is worthwhile for some Shopify stores though.

UPDATE - my experience is a rollercoaster. My store sync will be fine for a month or 2 then I will have a product launch and lose sales due to syncing issues as the app is taking too long to show products on collection pages. Very frustrating - no fix in sight so far. The below worked for a time and then the issues continued again. Good app and great experience with Billie who helped me with increasing my sync speed, it's super fast now and gives a much better experience to my customers. Overall good lot of features especially if you need filtering and have a theme that doesn't have everything you need.

This is honestly the worst app i have tried on shopify (I have 7 stores), After installing it, the app screwed up all my mobile display settings and somehow overtook what had been a great layout and display. Second, it randomly started hiding a bunch of products when i added new ones, and third it slows the store down a ton. Overall terrible and would never recommend.

We have been using this app since early 2024. I do not recommend this app to anyone with a large product catalog. Products are not syncing = price, and products are not updating in search or on catalog pages. I have been talking to them for over a month without a solution. First they try to tell me it is my fault for having large catalogs, then they find out that they themselves messed with the code. I thought things started working now, but I just checked and the products are still not syncing, and they just closed the chat because I did not respond.

Despite identifying the issue ourselves and repeatedly explaining it to their team, we were ignored for days. Only after they fixed another unrelated bug did they finally acknowledge the very problem we had flagged from the start, without so much as an apology or recognition of our earlier reports. It’s now been over four weeks, and the app still isn’t working properly. We’ve lost tens of thousands of dollars in sales due to their negligence and lack of communication. We've been forced to install Boost AI, (and charged, due to their team not able to fix the issue within the trial period length), to get responses to our issues in their other app. If your business depends on reliable and responsive customer support, when you trully need it, stay far away from this company and any of their apps. It’s been one of the most frustrating and costly experiences we’ve had with any Shopify integration, over the past 9 years.

UPDATE: While they will be quick to respond to your review claiming they have been quick to address and provided resolutions - After months of back and forth with Boost Support, receiving numerous promises to fix the issues we have experienced, they have now completely stopped responding to our requests, despite our being on their top tier plan. AVOID Boost! If you have a dev team, or are ready to hire one, then Boost is probably an acceptable investment for you. If you do not, then avoid this extension as there is virtually zero chance you will be successful integrating it into your theme. ZERO chance. Prepare yourself to read over their code and spend many hours copying over styling from your existing theme - your mileage may vary, but even with a background in this, I've had enough of Boost. You will 100% lose any native theme functionality where there is overlap with Boost, so will need to invest in replacements through new extensions. Wishlists etc, for example. Dealbreaker for me - Boost hijacks your existing cart functionality which will 100% cost you conversions due to customer confusion and inconsistencies. Worse yet, their support is an absolute waste of time.

EDIT: The team has addressed the staffing issue, and long support times hampering troubleshooting appear to be getting resolved. As that was the only major issue holding the app back, I can strongly recommend this app. I appreciate their response, and they apparently took the staffing issues and support long times seriously. I had this app set to five stars until recent apparent staff changes. The app still functions fine, but apparently support has been gutted. If you submit an issue, you will hear back 12 hours later (well after you are home for the day). When you respond, it will be another 12 hours before you hear back. It is a good app, but any bug or troubleshooting is currently a multiple day affair, which is less than ideal. I'll leave it at 3, because it is still good at what it does. It's just no good for troubleshooting in real time or if there is a deadline.

We chose Boost because it did everything that we felt we need in a site search engine. There were times that we required technical support and I was impressed at how quickly technical support came to our aid. The exchange lasted for a couple of weeks and every issue was addressed. Adding a search tool to a site as large as ours is no small task and it's important to test, and test again as time passes to be sure that the search engine is behaving as expected.

It should be called "Boost Filter" because the search is worse than the Shopify default. Try typing more than two basic keywords (category, gender, tag) and you'll get a ZERO result. Even the Shopify native search is better than that! Not sure what exactly they're claiming AI is enhancing because it is not. Filters are good but not worth the price. Support is MIA.

We have used boost for five years now. We had started with other more expensive and "premium" apps for search, and for merchandising / collections. Big name apps that you may be considering, you can guess who they are. Boost outperforms anything else we tried. Whatever the issue, we've been able to get good responses and results. The reports never work and after over 6 months we can't attribute one sale to this APP. Poor Customer Service. I will lead off with this, as a web developer with many clients, I always recommend Boost as the ideal app for Search/Filtering, but even more importantly product recommendation widgets. Coming from a very pricey competitor, LimeSpot, Boost blows them out the water with value and most important and above all, customer service and technical support. What I've come to learn is their stuff works amazing out of the box, but with the help of their support team, works even more amazing applied to how you need it. I have been working with Joseph closely to help optimize and improve the out-of-box function of these widgets to cater towards my customers and optimize upsell on our site. He's been amazing, prompt, detailed and understands exactly what I am trying to do. It has been outstanding working with him and watching him turn my ideas into reality. The chat support was not working, not letting me see replies and also not emailing those replies. However, once I got on email with Vincy & Luna they were beyond helpful and so speedy. I requested 3 visual changes, as I am updating to a new theme and these requests were dealt with effortlessly.

I used to love this app. Upon upgrading to 2.0 theme, my filtered collection pages can only be displayed using Boost design template, which despite my best efforts to customize, looks nothing like my theme.
