BEWARE, WE LOST MONEY WITH RECART - READ THIS BEFORE YOU SIGN AN AGREEMENT. $10,000+ lost in revenue with Recart due to platform bugs. My experience with Recart has been disappointing due to their platform filled with many bugs, declining performance, lack of promised support, strategy, billing discrepancies, and failure to execute agreed-upon tasks. The app and the service has not only failed to deliver on its promises but has also negatively impacted our revenue and business operations. Read my experience below. You will thank me later. Let me explain. Prior to moving to Recart in March 2024 I was using Postscript for 4+ years and generated seven digits in sms revenue by managing it in-house. So i know the technical side, strategy, optimizations and how things should work if you know what you are doing, and if the platform works as intended or not. I decided to move to Recart to save time and because they promised (via email and on their website) they will handle EVERYTHING: strategy, execution, optimizations, AI tests, A/B tests and will match our custom price. It sounded amazing, I was like it can’t be that bad, like what can they mess up, so I pulled the trigger and signed an agreement. Oh boy, was I wrong. PLATFORM BUGS - lost $10,000+ in revenue due to browse, add to cart, checkout abandonment flows not working as good as they work on Postscript. The worst part, I had to escalate and ping their team many times, so finally after few months they “discovered” the bug and apparently fixed it but still it was NOT working as it should. I know this from a fact, when we were for 4+ years with Postscript I would get hit by abandonment flow message almost every week. So my guess is their technology for recognizing users and events is not up to the level compared to Postscript and on the top of that it’s has bugs that they are not even aware of. So if you use Recart you are losing money on these automated flows because the users are not triggering the Recart events and/or they can’t recognize the users. POOR SERVICE - be careful, it’s not what’s advertised, at least it was not for us, their CEO Soma confirmed that there was misunderstanding in the offered service, so basically misleading advertising. I was like why you did not tell me this before? if you sign an agreement ask for detailed scope of work and deliverables along with the cadence. I made a huge mistake of signing an agreement that was super vague and gave them chance to not delivered what was promised. Also depends who is your assigned account manger, and also depends how much you are spending, low spend you are getting minimal support and non US rep. I was also told I’m asking a lot of questions and I’m taking up a lot of their time to address my concerns. NON TRANSPARENT PRICING - there is no way to figure out the charges, applied credits, sms usage, from the platform UI, it’s NOT transparent, even their team has hard time understanding the billing, credits, roll over credits etc it’s all a black box. You can’t verify it yourself. They acknowledge it it’s not transparent. HIDDEN OVERCHARGES - after complaining about their non transparent charges and being unable to verify myself why I was charged the amounts, they told me they are refunding me money because they apparently discovered an issue with roll over credits or whatever it was. Imagine If I was not doing my due diligence, no one would have discovered the issue. So now imagine how many of the brands that use Recart were potentially impacted by the same issue and the bugs I have discovered? Incorrect Attribution and Inflated Metrics - We had agreed on a specific 1-day click attribution model to track performance accurately. Despite multiple confirmations, Recart applied a different attribution model, inflating performance metrics for several months. The issue was only corrected after I escalated it on June 3rd, meaning all prior data was unreliable. Lack of Reporting and Strategic Support - there was a period of 2+ months where we haven't received any performance reports, there was a noticeable absence of strategic guidance and poor execution. We haven't had any strategy sessions or received proactive recommendations for over two months, leaving us without direction in our SMS marketing efforts. Billing Discrepancies - Our contract clearly stated a rate of $0.0075 per message, but we've been consistently billed at approximately $0.0077 per message. While this might seem minor per message, over thousands of messages, it results in significant overcharges, violating our agreed payment terms. Other promised services that were not delivered: Incorrect URLs in Campaigns: Despite clear instructions and agreements, campaigns went out with incorrect URLs, confusing customers and potentially losing sales. Scheduled Campaigns Not Sent: Planned campaigns were missed, leading to lost revenue opportunities. Flows Not Reactivated: Critical flows weren't updated to reflect current offers, rendering them ineffective. Abandonment Flows Malfunctioning: For over six months, I didn't receive any browser, checkout, or add-to-cart abandonment SMS messages, indicating these flows weren't functioning properly. No A/B Testing: We were promised proactive A/B pop-up testing and AI-driven personalization, but these initiatives were never implemented. Gave them 2 stars, because they were kinda trying to make things right but mostly because they finally agreed to terminate the agreement with no penalty, however the damage is done, they are aware of it, and they still owe me $5,000+ due to the automations not working properly. As soon as I moved back to Postscript I made more revenue with the abandonment automations in 3 days than Recart abandonment automations generated in 7+ months. That’s how bad their platform and technology is. They should also compensate me for the time I spent discovering all the crucial bugs and issues on their platform.

We moved over to Recart almost a year ago and took our barely skating by SMS program to a whole new level. The support they provide is fantastic and their constant testing and iterations on the pop up has driven opt-ins as high as 13%. Our list size has grown by leaps and bounds and every campaign is a money maker. I recommend them to everyone who will listen! Fantastic app, fantastic service, and crazy good metrics.

Terrible customer service. Soma, the CEO, has no better customer skills. If I could have left zero stars, I would have. UPDATE TO THE CEO'S RESPONSE: Yes, while I do agree that there were billing issues and appreciate the fact that Recart was working with us and we had entered an agreement with you. What can't be dismissed is the Alice Pai, your head of client success, is and was extremely rude and condesending to us from the very begining. So much so that we had to call her out on in some of the emails, which I will gladly share with anyone that wants to read them. What also can't be dismissed is that Recart had entered into an agreement with us to which they did not fullfill. Instead what Alice did was nothing. Because Alice couldn't do her job, what she did was run up our bill over $3000 dollars and then expected US to pay it off completely "or else". Then you Soma, the CEO, got involved. You again said we need to pay the full balance or you would suspend our account. Again, a balance your company ran up because YOU failed to honor the agreement. I offered a payment arrangement to which you declined and suspended my account before a weekend. I could not send text to my customers for the weekend which cost me sales. Then on the following Monday, you decided you would accept my payment arrangements. YOU suspended my account for the weekend to intentionally hurt my business. Then when you decided to re-activate my account, my number NEVER got verified. I couldn't send a text for an entire week! All this while I was trying to get away from your company. It took less than a day for the new company to get my number verified. My guess, the number was never submitted by your company to get verified. Another intentional act on your part to hurt my company. So did I get a little upset with your company and send some emails telling you how I felt about Alice....I sure did! Were some of those on the unprofessional side, yes. But YOUR actions, caused my reaction. Alice is far from professional and you SOMA, not taking responsibility for your company failures and trying to put it on my company and then intentionally hurting my company and family.....take a look in the mirror. This would have NEVER happened if you and your company had any integrity and did what they said they were gong to do. Anyone reading this, please feel free to reach out and ask for emails. I will gladly send them to you. This company has gone downhill drastically since we had signed on with them. If you don't do what they demand, they will hurt you. ALSO, you DO NOT HAVE IMMEDIATE ACCESS TO THE CONTACTS THEY COLLECT FOR YOU. You have to request your contact list and then they will get it to you, when they can. You pay for them to collect that data, you should immediate access to your property.

I love the numbers coming in from our campaigns and flows, especially the welcome; it offers a personal touch with conditional splits that really engage our customers. And it really gets results (sales). At first, I was concerned about our opt-ins, but our rep, Jordan, did more than just provide awesome suggestions — he also worked with us to create different versions, like a step with email and text at the same time. Our signup conversions improved dramatically, jumping from 1.25% before Recart to 7% for email and almost 5% for SMS.

This used to be a great app but my Facebook page disconnected (the success of this depends on it) I emailed days ago to 3 different support emails and 2 on the chat and not one reply. I am losing sales and will be searching for a better alternative. Beware. They take money but customer support has suddenly become non existent. Not happy.

Recarts program is God sent. My clients are happier because they've never gotten so many consistent sales. It was a strain on me to figure out when to have a sale for my company, so I was having sales only during major holidays. Like, 4 times a year. Now, since hiring Recart and working alongside Jordan my account manager at recart we have sales every month and I can't keep product on my shelves. Recart gave me REAL CEO PROBLEMS! At first, we thought that we found the right app for our business, our Facebook messenger blast works really well, but suddenly the performance of this app fluctuates, as we noticed during our monthly sale, total message sent decreases until the campaign just activate and do nothing. We try to seek help to their Support Team but unfortunately, they can't also provide us the answer why it happens, Vivien, one of the CS Support just tell us that their experience with Sponsored Messages is still the same, it is a hit or miss, meaning they are not confident that the app performance will work for us.

Get eight times more sales. A bold claim. Even though we had paid social media ads explicitly made for driving traffic to our store, all of our sales did NOT use the promo code you could get by signing up to text messages by Recart. Long story short, our customers are better off paying the retail price than giving away their phone numbers for a 15% off on their purchase. Perhaps Recart drives sales up for lower-priced items or a different industry than ours. Electronics shop owners, pass on this one. It will take valuable time for you to set up this correctly, and it's not worth it. You are better off pushing more sales through promotion inserts in your packaging, giveaways on social media, and 5-star reviews. My two cents.

Beware!!!!! This app is a complete waste of time and money. We added it to our store and did paid facebook ads to get new subscribers. Once we decided to send our subscribers a notification of our sale and a discount code we discovered you have to pay a huge amount via a new facebook ad just to notify your subscribers. PLUS, Facebook will not deliver Sponsored Messages unless you have minimum 1000-2000 subscribers. What a waste of money to have gained the subscribers and also be charged on the first day by Recart yet we couldn't even communicate with our "own" subscribers! Huge waste of money and also the time we spent on all our new messenger flows! Have just deleted app and lost all those subscribers. Do not recommend at all!

You can use them to get your products market price all wrong without any permissions. I tried this app, but it just added a discount code open to public without any pre-talk or try to get any permissions from us, which caused us much more headaches than we don't have them.

We were getting some inaccurate 'Extra Sales' claimed by Recart so we started to write down the 'Extra Sales' and our actual sales on Shopify since 22-Dec-2020, we compared the data each day, unfortunately, almost 80% of the 'Extra Sales' are not really matching our actual sales. Let's take the most recent data on 03-Jan-2021 as an example, Recart said we've got 2 orders as the 'Extra Sales', however, we got only one order on that day. This is just one of the many inaccurate data we are having. Not sure if other users are having the same issue like ours? We sent messages to the customer support team. At the beginning, they said we should use the unique promo code for Recart - And yes we did, but the Extra Sales didn't match. We provided the screenshot showing all the proofs. And then the last reply we got is as below: "I have looked into the Sponsored Message and it had a different discount code, that I think you have not sent over previously. I have removed this code from the Sponsored message now, because I believe the code was still active, and that is why Recart kept attributing sales from it. Regarding the difference of the Extra Sales what you see on the discount code in Shopify and in Recart, the explanation is the purchases when the user does not redeem the code, but comes back to the store from a Recart message. A sale is attributed to Recart if a customer opens or clicks a Messenger notification sent by Recart and makes the purchase in the next 72 hours. Therefore, the code does not have to be used for Recart to count the Extra Sales, it is enough to get the message and purchase in the following 72 hours. Please let me know if it makes sense." I think they are telling us no matter if the sales are with the unique Recart code, or without the code, they can be counted as the 'Extra Sales' from Recart, so we've got to pay the higher monthly rate. That's ridiculous! On 03-Jan-2021, we got one order, and you claimed we got two orders and all these two orders were from Recart. How we can verify? Anyone has the same concern? We are happy to pay higher if Recart is really generating the extra sales for our store. But their replies are irresponsible and they don't even provide a solution on how we can verify where are the sales really from! Will keep spreading this out, reporting to Shopify and other social media platforms until we get a CORRECT ANSWER!

We were really pleased with the guidance and support in getting set up I honestly can not fault them as a company with regards to attention to their customers, Anca was dedicated in looking after us and our business. Sadly shortly after installation facebook changed the way in which messages can be delivered which meant that we could not collect subscribers which was 80% of the point of installing the app, to offer a discount on a new messaging channel in return for future direct marketing opportunities. After FB's changes to all EU stores this was no longer possible. We flows which we set up to engage the customers who abandoned carts were also effected by this, without buttons they would no longer be able to return to cart to checkout from the message. We would also not be able to message anyone we had spoke to before on messenger.. along with many other limitation including no images in the messages also which was a shame. Its not the fault of RECART, I don't blame them as the changes facebook made due to GDPR were out of their control, however billing us for a product that did not work at all was more than a bit harsh. I think we should have been given an apology for all hours we invested into setting up the flows within the app, and refunded in full or had the option to be refunded in full. To be honest I think legally because the product was absolutely no longer as advertised they must refund us... but I would rather state my disappointment here and go our separate ways than chase a company for a wasted $300.

Very easy to setup. Just spend 1 hour at the beginning to setup all the opt-in tools, automated flows, templates and a few minutes to setup some 1-off flows. We're still in the trial period and everything's great so far! I couldn't think of any reason why our sales or abandoned card conversion would go down with Recart. It's been given us a new way to connect to our customers aside from email. The templates are really nice and helps a lot since we don't have copywriters in our team. Recart is by far the best apps I've ever installed in my store. Once setup and configured, I saw an immediate increase in sales, adding 2 to 3000 per month. So, it quickly becomes apparent that the impressive stats that Recart claim on all their promotions about how they increase sales, are a little tenuous. They count anyone that signs up for a discount code then purchases as a conversion enabled by them - as if the customer wouldn't have purchased otherwise. But in reality all they are doing is pestering customers with tacky discount codes - customers that would have purchased in any case. Real value comes in attracting back abandoned checkouts, and unfortunately it appears that Recart are much less successful at achieving this than they would have you believe. Since installing Recart I have actually seen a reduction in sales, which I attribute to the popup 'conversation starter' which just feels dropship-spammy, and subsequent Messenger hassling. I don't think I'll be using Recart again. The biggest con is all those conversions in their marketing copy they claim to have 'unlocked' for users of Recart, which are really just sales that would have occurred in any case. Very cheeky.

This app so far has helped me with a bit of conversion, yet, at the same time, got me lost some profits as well. First of all the unsubscribe button did not work, annoyed the hell out of my customers. I had to manually go unsubscribing every single person. Second of all, this is what disturbing: the abandoned cart keeps sending message to people who have already converted. I had some discount codes for the abandoned cart and customer came back and asked me to refund back as "i did not see this code when i purchased". Support is good, tried to fix the problem but at the end of the day, still not fixing anything. 1 star non-negotiable. Updated: I updated to 3 stars since the support is helping. Recently discovered that more than 1 person has subscribed but not in the subscriber list. This will make it hard once the customer decides to unsubscribe. Bottom line is, I'll surely give you 5 stars if my problem is fixed, and comitted to the plan as you've been helping me with more conversions.

Although we have been using this APP for less than a week our sign-ups from the Welcome Pop up have exceeded what we achieved in more than 4 months from using the stock standard Pop Up. The Welcome flows and the other functions in the APP are easy to implement (once you get your head around them) and the Support is excellent. Barbara was our contact point and her support was exemplary. Although we have not had any results from the Abandoned Cart flow yet, we are confident that based on the results from the Welcome Flow we will not be disappointed with the results. In our opinion, this is one of the must have APP, and well worth the low $29 monthly cost for the sign ups alone.

I'm a 1-year user. DO NOT RECOMMEND $$$$ Far too expensive, trust me! And if you want to cancel you need to contact their team which is very annoying. Got charged for 6 months and didn't get a sale, to be fair I wasn't advertising for traffic but they aren't fair to their pricing. Expect to pay a premium each month. Would only recommend to people who have a large budget, its not that great and a 'competitors have FREE options' that can do everything this tool does.

From the first day I installed this app, the app did not connect with my facebook page. Got Customer Service help - replied after a few hrs - and page got connected. I played around with the app a little bit. Made some abandoned cart messages. The next day, the app disconnected from my facebook page again. Got help, fixed it. But no abandoned carts showed up in the app, despite having a list on Shopify. Then, the app disconnected a THIRD time - And it got fixed again. The CS was suggesting a bunch of possible reasons, like changes to my facebook security settings, antivirus, etc. None of which are applicable in my situation. So my abandoned cart messaging system still does not work and the customer service seems to be calling me Stephanie now (who is this?) and did not fully answer my questions. To top it off, I got daily marketing emails asking how I'm connecting with customers etc - well, I'm not, because your app is not working and none of your technicians and customer support is able to identify why. I wonder how you get so many good reviews if you're not able to fix these fundamental issues I'm experiencing with your app?

Last year i stopped using this app because we could no longer have the messenger box prechecked on product pages, so i thought it wouldnt be that helpful. And I did not want to use the add to cart pop up because it adds more friction in the buying process. With this one in particular, the "Sticky Coupon" or whatever wouldn't go away - it was blocking another app I have installed for social proof. App has some impressive integrations and strategies to make up for the pre-check loss that occurred in April. When we had issues getting everything setup and making the widgets show properly within our theme their customer service team worked with us for a week, providing great service and setting everything up just right. Gave a 4 out of 5 stars because the load time of our pages did suffer a bit due to some of the apps features. At the end of the day we did not decide to stay with Recart - as the strategies did not line up with our branding and preferred method of customer communications but that has nothing to do with the app itself or the team behind it. The app subscription tools does not work for the safari browser or the instagram browser which make it too useful for mobile heavy traffic. The Subscription tool is supposed to detect the customers facebook login so they can easily subscribe, but instead it asks them to enter their username and password on a separate page which of course hurts conversion a lot.

Installed this and tested it for about 5m and had all sorts of issues. On my iPhone X the button to send to messenger wouldn't work so right after I add to cart I get a pop-up that doesn't work. I had another person try it and it's not a one-click solution, you click, then it opens another page and then asks you to authenticate again. Most of our users are mobile and taking someone that just added something to their cart to a whole new page and through several clicks just isn't going to work for us. The chat also made me authenticate on my phone, so it was not seamless either. In all of the marketing material it shows a simple click to opt-in, but doesn't mention opening a new screen on mobile and then having them authenticate again through facebook. I don't want to take anyone out of a purchase flow to another page. Great idea, but still needs some work.

I am always on the hunt for more data that can help me contact and bring back my customers. I really feel any customer who makes a cart has a good amount of interest, you just need to help them along in the purchase. People are busy and on the go and they simply forget you.Not because your unforgettable but because they have so much going in there phone world, there carrying around a little computer all day long and browse many sites. Because of this you must grab and hold then anyway you can until you become a staple in there minds. I love using my checkout abandonment app, i can Re-Target those people and it works but what about the carts? Until now i was losing 100% data on people who where placing things in there carts and leaving and i had no idea how many! I was happy to see how many people liked products and what ones and added them to the cart however did not complete the sale YIKES! I love that this app gives you a popup so when they go to place items in there carts they now have the choice to enter there email and now i have that data collected so i can re-target them with there carts. The downside would be the people who do not enter there emails you can not re-target and that's a shame and i hope will be a upgrade in someway to grab them to. Overall the extra data and emails i am collecting and able to make more sales from makes me very happy. I really think this app gives you an insight into what your customers love the most and what items in your stock our the hottest! I will give this app a 95% A and hope that there is an upgrade to re-target the other people who do not enter there emails in the future. I would also like to see an option to have more then 3 re-target emails i prefer a few more. I like the ability to try harder to bring my customers back. Maybe if they could just click and save there carts with say there Facebook profile somehow it would be less work for them and we would capture more. Just an idea. It's a great app, I like how their features worked. Their customer service is excellent when they're online. They settled my issues almost immediately every time. However there's a little improvement needed, I wish I can create flow and further my conversation with customers in messenger. Besides that when I open the app, I have to stare at the loading page, if not it will mostly fail and I have to reload it a few times.

I have tried this app for messenger retargeting and abandoned cart. I have not got improvements. As Recart offers 30 days or an initial 7 days trial and a trial extension of 21 days for completing 3 easy goals (completed), you get charged $29. It's confusing and a way to steal you money. I would NOT recommend using this app.

This app is awesome, but I gave it 4 stars because it is not compatible with the safari browser. That means people with iPhone's using their safari browser will not see the messenger icon or be able to view the benefits that the app has to offer. That's missing out on a large demographic of people, in my opinion. Otherwise, the app works very well. I have to use a different messenger app to help capture iPhone users as well, but I'm hoping with the price of Recart that they'll work on becoming compatible with iPhone users.

I have been using Recart since the beginning and it helps me recover the abandoned cart better than email most of the time. Some people don't check their email, but they do get a notification on their Facebook app. I think every store should have abandoned cart Messenger & Email to maximize the sales. The support staff is very friendly and helped me out whenever I need something regarding the widget.
