Suddenly so much worse than before. It always displays a 1000 products that are completely unrelated to any search terms. Before I could search a specific product model and it only shows those, or search a single SKU it would show only that. Now it is completely useless for us and customers.

there is not option to set the Availability filter to be always on... this makes the app useless when you want to filter for shoe sizes or clothing sizes... as customers click on the shoe size they need but if they don't go and also click available they will see out of stock products...

私のストアでは、このアプリを利用したストア内検索で 「ブランド名 + モデル名 + 色名 + 品番」と、 各商品ページに記載されている正しい品名で検索しても、 Shopify の検索アルゴリズムが「ブランド名＋モデル名」の塊を強く優先するため、 目的の商品が検索結果の後方へ押しやられてしまう状況がありました。 この問題を解決するために、まずブラウザの開発者ツールを使い、 「検索結果の HTML がどの JavaScript によって生成・並び替えされているか」 を調べました。 その結果、私のテーマでは global.js が検索結果の描画に関わっていることが分かり、 このファイルの最下部にカスタムソート処理を追加することで、 品番一致の商品を最上位に表示できるようになりました。 ただし、テーマによってファイル名や構造は異なるため、 まずは開発者ツールで「どの JS が検索結果を書き換えているか」を特定することが重要です。 さらに、Search & Discovery アプリの設定で 在庫切れ商品を「混在させる」に変更することで、 Shopify デフォルトの“売り切れ後方寄せ”が解除され、 カスタムソートが正しく反映されるようになりました。 この2つの組み合わせで、 「完売商品が検索で出てこない」「正確な商品名検索で目的の商品が上位に来ない」 という悩みを解決できました。 私は Copilot と Sidekicks とやり取りしながらこの方法に辿り着き、 カスタムソートのコードも AI に書いてもらい、目的を実現できました。 同じ問題で困っている方の参考になれば幸いです。

I was quite happy with this app to start with and allowed me to target specific recommendations to complement products. However, it has not been updated to accommodate the changing platform and is missing some key things. I have started getting people adding products to their orders that they should not be able to get access too as they are behind closed pages and have the hide from search feature on them. It has started revealing my wholesale products and prices to people in the recommendation section and causing me grief with retail customers. I have had to uninstall this from the shop as it could potentially lose me customers Update: I have now put the app back on after finding how to add coding to the theme to stop certain products from showing in the recommendations. This should be a feature within the app for those that don't feel comfortable adding coding and so those of use who can, don't have to recode on every update

As of June 2026, this app is totally useless, as it will not look at your product description for keywords. Shopify supports solution is to add all your keywords to the title. A search app that only searches product title is not only worthless, but totally asinine. We've used this app for as long as we've been on Shopify and now have to delete it and find a different solution. Talk about majorly disruptive and costly. Do better Shopify!

Fro a while this has been a core app in our toolbox. We've used it for a few years with minimal issues (aside from a decent learning curve). Recently though, my customers can not literally search for product. THIS IS THE MAIN FUNCTION!! Predictive search works, but actually searching via a keyword, SKU, barcode, or vendor provides broken results that will show few to no products. Seriously, STOP USING AI TO CODE - you guys are going to spend more on fixing all your broken garbage than you would gain by being "productive". Get it together shopify!

The good things are that this app is free but it still can be improved a lot. There are so many things missing. Being able to give weight to tags, description or title or leave them out. Include specific metafield. The worst for me is that it does not leave me to search if both tags are present ina product. Many times, products with only one of the tags present are shown. Incedible that Shopify official search is so outdated and primitive.

Hi, our collection filter is showing duplicate Size values on the storefront. In Shopify Search & Discovery, each Size value appears only once, and the product option values are already unified. The duplicate values appear after expanding the Size filter, so it seems related to the app’s filter accordion/rendering or cached filter index. Could you please help check the Size filter data source and rebuild/clear the app filter cache?

There needs to be a way to remove archived products from the list when selecting products to recommend. This issue is only going to get worse over time as I archive more and more products. Not having this makes it much more time consuming than it should be to add product recommendations.

This pathetic 5,000 product limit is a total joke in late 2025, once your collection hits 5,001 items, EVERY filter vanishes completely. No price, no brand, no size, no fitment, no vehicle compatibility – nothing. Customers get dumped onto an endless, unsearchable wall of products and immediately abandon cart. I sell alloy wheels and vehicle parts: a single "All Wheels" collection blows past 10k–20k variants in days. Filters die instantly, forcing me to hack the site into hundreds of tiny, stupid sub-collections ("Wheels – Brand A 17-inch", "Wheels, Brand B Black", etc.). The navigation is now a confusing nightmare, looks like a cheap amateur site, SEO is destroyed, and customers rage-quit because they can't find anything. Conversions? Obliterated. Bounce rate? Through the roof. Support tickets? Exploded with "your site is broken" complaints. Shopify's official "fix" is to split everything, yeah, thanks for killing the customer experience on every automotive, electronics, or fashion store with actual inventory. This limit hasn't budged in years despite thousands begging for 50k+. Total garbage. Avoid this "free" app like the plague and pay for a real third-party solution that isn't stuck in 2015. Shopify, remove this insulting 5k cap NOW or admit you don't want serious merchants. One star is generous.

Editing to now mention that changes to the recommended products are not sticking. The app is showing random products in the recommended section and there is no way to edit it. This is really, really frustrating. I've been wondering why sales have been down the last few days, now I know why. The "hide default" products is not working.

Relies too heavily on assumed auto-recommendations -- would love to be able to remove SPECIFIC auto recommendations, leave the rest, and have the available slots auto-generate. Secondly -- need to be able to ban specific products from ever auto-generating. There are things in my store (blank envelopes etc) that are great for functional use but I never want recommended. 3 out of 5 stars because of two major functionality omissions -- add these and will gladly upgrade to 5 stars.

The one feature I wish it had was the ability to set rules for recommendations. I get auto-generated ones that don't make sense, like a ring and a baby onesie. If I could select which tag or collection to recommend from, the auto-generate would be more accurate for upsells.

Yes, the app is free, but it’s missing a lot of important functionalities. For example, you can’t set the “in stock” filter to be checked by default, you can’t display available variants directly on the collection page, and there’s no quick buy option. The list goes on.

App is easy to use and set-up. I just hope they add this future on the next update: 1. Enable collection-specific filters, allowing each collection to have its own tailored filter set. 2. Adjust the number of products displayed per page to improve loading speed when filters return a large number of results. 3. The selected filter will be displayed as an image or icon instead of text.

Under “Search & Discovery” app’s Recommendations tab, I have put 3 specific items in the Related Products column for each of my products (a total of 8 products), yet on the live website, the You May also like section only displays, 1 or 2 items, not all 3 items I’ve specified, and it is inconsistent in it's display tendencies. The settings within Shopify (Maximum products to show) for the “Related Products” is set to 3. Why am I seeing less than 3 items displayed on the live site? This app sort of does what I want, but not exactly as I want, therefore, 3 stars. Please work to improve this.

This app is good if your filter results will be relatively small. In my opinion the app has two major shortcomings, and both are only relevant if number of filter results for your store can be high. 1) Shopify limits the number of filter results to 100, which may be fine for most stores but is a major problem for mine. I have product metafields that are used to filter and these fields can have several hundred different entries but shopify will only display 100. Shopify suggests workarounds but it seems hokey to have Product Names A to F, Product Names, G to M, and so on. Just make the number 100 by default, but have the option to change it in the settings if needed. 2)Not having an option for a scroll bar in the filter results. Again, if you have a lot of options that will show up on your filter Shopify will display a certain number followed by a "show more" link. If the number of results is high, such as 90, your customers are in for a lot of scrolling. I have tried many other platforms and most of them fall short in regard to product filtering with the exception of Ecwid. Their built in filters are really good, unfortunately the platform falls short with regard to product videos and cost. I have conceded and am currently trying several 3rd party filters.

I'm giving this APP a single-star rating due to the limitations in the available filter count. There are businesses, such as mine that need more than 25 filters and we should be able to group filters by collections. Shopify spent a lot of energy doing this past Winter's updates but they missed a big one by not updating this APP to make it user-friendly for all businesses. I sell cameras and various other photography equipment and I can use up 25 filters just on cameras alone. Can we get an APP update?

Rubbish! It looks to me that this filter must be applied site-wide. Why oh why has Shopify ended the funcionality of just adding specific tags that are automatically grouped. Now we can't customise filters within a collection. It was far easier the other way around. How are we supposed to give good user expereince if we can't offer basic filtering inside each collection!!!!!

Very good app, still needs betterment when it comes to search and recommendations. It would be great to have search by image introduced as well. Nowadays customers are taking screenshots from social media and they try to search it by image. I would prefer to have it in this app itself other than using some other apps

The app is really good, but with 1 main very important limitation. The filters that are shown on the storefront are limited to 25. This is huge limitation, considering if you have different sorts of products and categories. I urge the developers to remove that limitation asap

I think it's a really great website feature. I have a university boutique that basically sells one color of item that comes in many shades so I think it's useful to recommend things that will match or coordinate with other pieces. Update: The only support received by now has been the reply here, yet is a very generic answer, which doesn't resolve the issue. To their reply: I know where to find the "Out of Stock Products" setting, which is set to show only products "In Stock" by default; yet, ALL (In+Out of Stock) products show up. The issue persists, and worst, if I delete the app, it won't go away from my website. So I cannot move on to another reliable option in the market. Original Review: I like the app, but I give it a 2 star rating as I couldn't get any support to ask some relatively basic questions about different features that are not working (like the setting for "Out Of Stock Products" which I want to show "Not At All", yet, they show on the site.) They replied: "The "Out of Stock Products" setting is under the "Search relevance" section of the app settings. It controls how out of stock products and variants are handled in search results. This setting does not affect how out of stock products and variants are handled on Collection pages. Not suitable for large shops. 200 filter values are possible, but only 100 are displayed. I don't understand why. Conclusion: a shop with more than 100 brands, for example, will not be able to use the filter effectively. Addendum: Maybe the product is called A8000, a search for 8000 will not find this product. Such a search is completely useless.

The app works pretty well as a free offering. It won out in A/B testing from our previous paid solution. I'm hoping the developers introduce a setting to 'draft' status filters so that they can be hidden from a store without totally deleting them and having to re add them at a later date. I would also like a preview option on draft filters so we can do something like setup a large meta field list without impacting the prod site when looking to preview the filter. Currently I am having to setup a product meta field on our sandbox store of over 18k products so that I can preview that meta field list color filtering 'AND' behavior works as expected and then I will have to bring all these meta field values over to our prod store. A simpler solution would allow me to setup the meta fields on the prod store, preview the new Color filter on prod without making it live to test it, and then if it works as expected setting it to live. Another nice to have, would be to make product.options by Color as an AND filter by default instead of OR so that a metafield list wouldn't even be necessary.

The Availability filter does not work. For whatever reason, it displays the total product count instead of the inventory count AND it's not even recognizing variants, so it's completely useless. Outside of this app, the inventory counter is displaying correctly on the product page so obviously the problem is with this app. This availability filter code is no good. Hand coded filters used to work on Shopify but because of this newfangled junk, they don't anymore. This app has to be enabled for ANY filter to display - so you can get hand coded filters to show up, but they will only display error msgs, because Shopify 2.0 only accepts filter content from apps. I'm not a fan of chunking out useful features into a bunch of add-ons. UPDATE: found a source of incompatibility between this app and Shopify 2.0 free themes V 15.0. In facets.liquid, ALL filters print value.count. Value count = the number of product LISTINGS. This is only relevant to count by category, like qty of products that are t-shirts, qty of products that are hats, etc. This is entirely useless for inventory. I've managed to decouple the Availability filter from this irrelevant nonsense by using {%- if value.label contains "stock" -%}. However I've tried literally THOUSANDS of call combinations, logic, and assigns within this if clause and cannot get it to print the actual in stock inventory. I've been able to get it to print a fixed qty, or a (0), or a total product listings count, or even the total value of products in the cart. Anything but the inventory qty seems to work here. Please reply with the exact code needed for this to function properly. Thanks!!!! UPDATE #2: Thank you for responding but, that's honestly not an adequate solution whatsoever. As you pointed out, IT WILL NOT SUM, which means that will return a string of values that will read for example: "(4)(45)(9)(3)(1)(1)(3)(6)(2)(1)....etc." It could break the screen border with this nonsense. And it looks janky, which will bounce customers off the site instantly. AND your suggestion to do this as another layer of app bloat on the app sandwich is perfectly absurd. Let me know when Shopify is ready to give serious support and tell me how to CODE a reasonable solution into facets.liquid and it's associated .js and .css theme files. It's an embarrassing oversight on the part of Shopify that there is no availability filter that shows in stock goods vs out of stock goods (regardless if the out of stock can still be custom ordered). Site visitors should be able to easily filter products on this basis because it affects how quickly the product will be shipped. Is this really a condition Shopify wants it's sites to perform poorly on? Isn't that kind of contrary to the whole mission of good ui > good seo > good revenue? You have a feature that is not working as advertised. Please fix it or tell me how I can fix it IN THE THEME FILES WITH CODE. Don't come at me with any more apps, alternatives, or substitutes. I assure you I am either already employing them or have tested them and found them inadequate. UPDATE: Wait wait wait wait. So now I'm noticing that this app doesn't even use canonical URLS in the recommended products gallery! Are ya'll joking with this entire thing or what?

The search app is good, but there's lacking features. If you have a store with more than 5000 items, the filter doesn't show and there's no way to filter a collection by product count. Out of stock items are hidden in search, but forget about it if someone is browsing products. Customize filters with metadata works fairly well, but for some reason adding thousands of data points to group makes the app not show all the data to group it in the app, but shows it to the customer on the website ungrouped.
