We have been using Searchanise for a while and have had a very good experience with their support team. They have always been very helpful whenever we needed assistance customising the app to suit our store. On several occasions, they have gone beyond standard support and made custom changes so that Searchanise works properly with our existing Shopify setup and the way our current systems are configured. Communication has always been clear and they take the time to understand exactly what we are trying to achieve rather than just giving us a generic solution. Most recently, they helped us replicate some custom pricing logic from our Shopify theme within the Searchanise results and provided a solution that worked with our existing setup. Very happy with both the app and the level of support we have received.

Update (Upgraded to 5 Stars): Outstanding Support & Proactive Improvement! We had initial doubts, but after about two months with Searchanise, our sales and orders are noticeably up and shoppers are finding products much more easily. I’m updating my original 4-star review to 5 stars because of their exceptional team. I reached out regarding a few quick adjustments I needed, and support handled them immediately. More importantly, I previously mentioned that the backend UI was confusing and felt like a hindrance with constant upsells when you're just trying to get work done. Their team actually listened , they passed my feedback directly to their product team and confirmed they are actively working on making the admin experience smoother, cleaner, and more intuitive for merchants without constant hard-selling. It’s rare to find an app partner that not only delivers great sales results but also listens to merchant feedback and takes real action to improve the user experience. Highly recommended!

We have been using this app for a few years and the search function is great. We recently hired an ADA Team to review our website to be sure the site meets the ADA requirements as we had been sued for violations. Where is the support? You have 1217 reviews and mainly positive but I CANNOT contact you even by some chat? I can't even submit a question to you on your "help" facility in shopify becuase the SUMBIT button does NOT WORK!!! As I cannot submit my query on the proper support page I have no choice but to put it here: I want the look and feel of the search results page on our website, **lemonsalt.co.uk**, to remain exactly as it is. I don't want Searchandise to override our existing UI for displaying products, articles, recipes, or other search results. To achieve this, I disabled the widget on the **Search Results Widget** page. Once I did that, our own search results layout was displayed correctly, which is exactly what I wanted. However, I noticed something unexpected: **recipes and articles built with PageFly are no longer returned in the search results.** They only appear when the **Search Results Widget** is enabled. Is there a way to access Searchandise's indexed content (particularly PageFly pages) while continuing to use our own search results UI? In other words, can Searchandise provide the search index and results data without taking over the presentation layer? I hope to get an answer soon.

We’ve been using Searchanise on our Shopify store for a few years now and have found it to be responsive, mobile friendly, and well supported by the team whenever help is needed. The app was excellent when we first started using it and has continued to improve over time, which is encouraging and helps stores provide a better shopping experience. It is also very detail focused, with useful analytics that are specific to your own store rather than generic reporting. One feature we particularly value is the CSS customisation option, as it allows the plugin to be tailored more closely to the look and feel of the store. For us, that makes a real difference, as search and filtering are effectively part of the shopfront experience.

Overall much better than boost from the pricing and also functions, also much cheaper than doofinder and nice customer service. Small details dont work, e.g. metafield values are not translatable and the analytics only works if instant search is activated, but still i can only recommend. top price/value for shopify! incredible amount of functions. a bit scattered, but support helps.

The app is simple to use and super easy to install. At first, just like any new app it may seem intense, but the app allows you to select and configure all the settings you will need to run a great search tool on your site. I moved away from this app and chose another competitor and regretted it immediately. The flexibility and capabilities of this app speaks for itself! Love the way it simply indexes your store products and catalogs. I use this app frequently and update my settings every week to improve my stores search feature. The support staff is another reason why I switched back. Their support team is on it, and they usually get things resolved on the first try. Love this app and would recommend it to anyone!

I originally gave this app 5 stars because it looked professional, had many options, was customizable and reasonably priced. However, after using it longer we have had complaints from customers of using specific terms and not getting the results that they need. There is a major weakness in the search logic that significantly affects usability and conversions for larger catalogs. If a customer searches for multiple words such as BLUE SHIRT, the app does not properly prioritize products containing ALL search terms before products containing only one of the words. The customer will see shirts and other blue color products randomly. Customers can end up flipping through multiple pages before finding the most relevant exact matches. This is a basic and important feature for an ecommerce search engine, especially for stores with large catalogs and overlapping keywords. Support confirmed that this functionality is currently not available. The app still has some strengths, but this search behavior is a serious limitation for stores that depend heavily on customers quickly finding precise products.

We had an excellent experience with the Searchanise support team, especially with Dias D. Dias supported us during the implementation of custom badge logic for our Shopify relaunch project. The communication was clear, professional and reliable throughout the process. Our requirements were not standard, as the badge logic had to work across Instant Search, Search Results and Collection pages, while also respecting product metafields, sold-out priority and category-specific conditions. Dias understood the requirements well, coordinated the implementation and confirmed that the live shop would remain unaffected until our final approval. After testing, everything worked as expected. It is fine, however the lack of customization of the collection pages, specifically the ability to add Custom Liquid Sections to the Product Card makes this APP Less then it could be. We ONLY use it for the "dynamic" search part and NOT the product filtering.

Unparalled experience to the built in Shopify Search with amazing support who were able to address a specific scenario in the display of our search results. We have a huge product catalog and many with variants. While it is possible to hide out of stock products, it does not hide variants that are out of stock. This caused a problem that customers would click the "View Product" button and then immediately "Add to Cart" thinking they were getting the variant from Search Results, but in fact they were getting the first available variant on the Product Page. Searchanise support were able to add a strikethrough to out of stock variants on the Search Results page and this has so far eliminated this problem for us!

Excellent software and support. I had an issue that turned out wasn't even from this app, and they still helped me figure out what it was. And the software works great, I can direct a customer to a page based on search phrase, add synonyms, etc and it looks and feels professional and pretty too. Update: now using this app for over a year (maybe even longer i lose track) and support is still easily accessible and willing to help with all my needs. I wanted to do some CSS to match the search results widget to my theme and they have done a great job.

I installed Smart Search after not having such a good experience with another more expensive search app. After installing the Smart Search app, it didn't automatically match my themes styling. I reached out to the Smart Seach support team and over the course of a couple of weeks and my constant emails they worked tirelessly to style the app, perfectly as I wanted. I can't rate them highly enough. The app as well as looking good also performs very well and I particularly like the fact that it automatically re-indexed your store's products, behind the scenes every 10 minutes. The price of their app is also lower than some of its competitors. So I highly recommend the app and its support team. UPDATE - October 2022. Been using the app for almost a year now. The support from the whole team has been excellent with particular mention to Julia who worked patiently to help me customize the looks and feel of the app with our store. I'm very particular and wanted the styling to be 100% pixel-perfect. We are a high-volume Shopify Plus retailer operating multiple boutiques in Montreal, and Searchanise plays a central role in our merchandising and search infrastructure. We invested more than six months integrating the app into our Shopify Plus store, expecting a stable, enterprise-level solution. Unfortunately, the process has been far more difficult than anticipated, primarily due to slow support cycles and recurring technical instability. Support responses often take close to a week between replies, which turns urgent issues into multi-week resolutions. Even more concerning, several deployed fixes have introduced new problems that were not identified beforehand, creating an ongoing cycle of corrections. One of the most critical issues at the moment is that customers are seeing sold-out products in search results, with no reliable way for us to control this directly. Because search behavior is fully managed by Searchanise, we depend entirely on their implementation to ensure stock filtering works correctly. This has created confusion, inconsistent filtering between pages, and a poor customer experience. More recently, after another attempt to correct a previous issue, our French and English search results are no longer aligned. Identical searches between the two languages sometimes show differences of over 200 results. For a bilingual store operating in Canada, this is a major problem and directly impacts merchandising consistency and customer trust. In one recent case, a correction to stock filtering logic resulted in a larger issue affecting badges and filters. It has now taken over a month of weekly follow-ups, and the matter remains unresolved. For a business operating at scale — both online and in-store — search reliability is mission-critical. When filters reset automatically, sold-out products appear incorrectly, or search results differ drastically between languages, it directly impacts customer trust, conversions, and revenue. We genuinely want this partnership to succeed, but enterprise merchants require faster turnaround times, stronger quality assurance before deployment, and proactive technical ownership. We are currently reassessing whether this level of support aligns with the needs of our business.

UPDATE: It has now been several years since we first started using Searchanise. This is still a fantastic app. The Searchanise team has continued adding useful features and their support is better than any other Shopify app we use. Our needs have required a few creative modifications due to the size of our product offering, and they have quickly addressed our needs. I still highly recommend this app for the top search bar + widget, side filtering by tag, sorting, SEO and more. Smart Search Bar & Filters by Searchanise is a fantastic search app. We use it for both the search box and the "Narrow your Search" functionality on the sidebar. The search box has many capabilities, including matching of text in your product titles and descriptions. We sell automotive fasteners and have tens of thousands of cross-reference numbers, year/make/model combinations, part attributes such as length, width, height, etc. and Searchanise accommodates all of it. Our customers easily find what they need by searching nearly anything related to the product. In addition, Searchanise accommodates synonyms of search terms, and you can add replacement words so that if somebody searches using an odd phrase or word you can have that redirect to the correct product. You can also run many different reports. We run the Zero Results report frequently which shows us what customers are searching for, and allows us to figure out how best to direct that search in the future. Finally, support is top-notch. This is a big team developing this product with a proper ticketing system, fast follow-up, complete answers to questions, proper escalation as needed, etc. Even for feature improvements you'll find they are very eager to hear your suggestions and often will roll out the changes quickly. This app is well worth the money, I don't think we could run our business without it.

Shocked and saddened by the bahaviour from the company in recent weeks. I signed up for a one year subscription in May 2025 which runs until May 2026, and suddenly I find the admin panel is blocked and they want me to pay more because I am on Shopify Plus?! It is our first week of using the app on our live store, and it has been working great. It took some initial time to implement custom CSS to match our storefront design and styles, but it is now functioning great with the help of their responsive support team (Thank you, Uriy, Alex P., Andrew from the developer team, and the customer support team), who answered any questions promptly and forwarded technical queries to developers, who also responded within a reasonable amount of time (typically within 24 hours). One major benefit is that the Searchanise product grid and filters render on the search page and collection pages extremely fast, and much faster than the native product grid, which fetches new data and reloads the page for each filter adjustment. Since Searchanise has already indexed all the products for each filter before pageload, adjusting filters displays results nearly immediately. This is greatly advantageous for performance on mobile devices in remote areas. With Searchanise being implemented for only a week or so thus far, we've already received positive feedback from customers as well as our own team.

This app does everything it says and more! We have two stores with unique and complicated set ups that rely heavily on both product and variant metafields to operate, which not all apps provide support for. Searchanise, even by default, provides a large amount of support in this regard. What is most impressive is the developers, who I have asked much of to make all of the customizations we need. From the most basic of changes, to the most complicated, everyone is always very nice, helpful, responsive and prompt with their assistance and their results are always top-notch. I switched to Searchandise from a more expensive app that I used to use when I was on Bigcommerce and I could not be happier. Searchandise does everything the expensive app did, but at a much lower price. I have yet to explore all the app has to offer and I'm looking forward to seeing what else I can do with it. Update 9th of October The Customer service after a few email back and forth decided to apply the suggested modification, and i think this is a great step forward! Update - 7 October 2024 The standard filter by shopify has evolved a lot, and it's way better now. I've checked deeper the SEO features by Sarchanise and discovered that their code about collections doesn't generate a proper markup with H3 products names, so it impacts seo negatively. I've reached to support, but they were not able to provide a solution if not the re-issue the standard collection and hide via CSS. This solution is not viable as it will impact the loading speed of the page and makes no sense. I've been a big fan of the app but i'm thinking to switch back as we're losing SEO juice and for ecommerce this means money. Hope they will consider the suggestion as it'll be an easy fix from them, but their codebase is quite cryptic and can't find a simple way to modify. -------------------------- This app is simply amazing. It expands the filtering options and searches defaults of Shopify to such a better level that I can only recommend it. The pricing is super affordable and the speed and customization are pretty good and overall easy. The app is well documented. When I reached support they were SUPER PATIENT and guided me to set up the app as I needed. I can only say that I'm extremely satisfied and will keep supporting them! -------Update 31-08-2023 due to a theme update i had to re-set the code for Searchanise. The support as amazing, and Julia helped me clearly by fixing the steps i could not do myself. She was kind and explained the process and the modifications. The new Search & Discovery by Shopify is good and powerful finally, but Searchanise is another level, with more options and some amazing features that makes it stand out from the competition. If you need a filter system with lot more, this is again the best!

Searchanise fills the gaps that Shopify can't or won't. We use them because Search & Discovery won't allow filtering of as many products as we have in some collections. They also do 60 day best selling, so your sort order isn't locked into prioritizing some product that you blew out two years ago. They have so many features, and so many options to optimize. The fact is, if you need features beyond Search & Discovery you end up needing a service like Searchanise. Many of these are egregiously expensive or a huge drag on performance. Searchanise is neither. Their core app is really easy on performance. Their biggest performance drawback is a reliance on jquery, which usually takes longer to load than their app. Overall though, they try hard and provide incredibly responsive support. They help you work through issues and provide support to your developers for customizations. Shout out to Ksenya for helping us fix some of our more persistent issues. The impression I get is that the Searchanise team is always improving, and in this with us when it comes to plugging the gaps in Shopify's capabilities.

What an incredible app and company with incredible people like Sophia M. Their app was my third attempt to add a sort and filter to my store and it was proving difficult and tedious a task but Searchanise has totally solved my problem and more. What best is that I needed custom code adding to make a change to my collection and, on a Saturday, I got a reply within minutes with the custom code snipped I needed to add which I've implemented and worked first time! Terrible support, terrible app. Firstly the app never picked up any of our branding colours, so had to spend over an hour of my time manually adding them in multiple places and then testing on the front end. The results returned were poor and inaccurate. The results page showed some weird narrow block of two product columns on desktop with no setting to say three columns. The filters with metafields simply did nothing on the front end despite all my products having metafields. Absolute waste of my time and having sent 5 emails to your so called support team and only one answered, I decided to uninstall and look elsewhere. Don't bother replying with the standard "Please contact our support team" because I certainly will not and would be another complete waste of time since you rudely ignore emails anyway!

The tool may be really powerful but when you are trying to set up your store and get it as quickly as possible and not having to go through a a full web developers course and getting 2 masters in order to do a task it will be much better. If you want a collection search filter do not use this app. It replaced your collection search with its own app, and you cannot change anything about it. You get stuck with small text, 3 columns, and a terrible mobile layout. If you are looking for collection search filters, find another app.

In theory, I like this search quite a bit, but with nearly 1000 products already on site, it's hard to go and create new tags and also create new filters. 5 days trial gone: The app works stable, and the theme is not broken. Positive: - well designed, with a hundred settings, admin panel comfortable to use both on mobile and PC. - great analytics. It gives more information about internal search performance than native Shopify reports Negative: - support is dead. except autoresponder no answer for 4 days. - Filters in the collection you can't use because the app automatically switches to some weird collection design. And there are no settings to change it. So I can't disable the native Shopify search and filter app - Integration with Langify does nothing - Integration with Ryviu does nothing - a high price for use. without support, it can be less $15 monthly

Update (2024): We decided to use their collection filter features. After two days of testing and setting it up on our site, I have to say that this product is very robust and flexible, meeting all my needs when it comes to setting up all our collection filters properly. It takes a little bit to learn, but with their fast support, it was a breeze.

Over the last four months, it has experienced downtime on four separate occasions, totaling approximately 24 hours. It's overall a good app, but it has no defense against internal site search spam. We used to do merchandising through the app, like redirecting some terms, adding synonyms for common misspellings, etc. That was doable with 5-50 searches a day. The analytics were great for identifying opportunities to improve. However, a few months ago, we started getting 2,000-7,000 searches per day, virtually all automated internal site search spam. This made the analytics useless, and we've been unable to find any solution to block these visits. Shopify is unable to help, apps that block visitors do not help, and Searchanise has no spam defenses at all. At this point, the app is still good as a search app, but we're unable to keep refining it, so we'll likely be moving on from this app to something not so easily exploitable.

For over 5 years we have leaned on Searchanise for search and filter. The app gives us full control of collection specific filters which is important to us. Although it is rare that we have issues, when we do their support team is flexible and responsive and has exceeded my expectations. There might be less expensive options out there. I doubt they are worth it (and I am not looking).

I have paid for a year and can't use the app as there are so many issues between Searchanise Collection/Search Pages and BolideAI/Searchanise Upsell. Since you moved the upsell to BolideAI the service has been terrible, doesn't reintegrate just shows errors every few days when it tries and the customization for both should be easier to match the theme so that both apps visuals show the same look throughout the website and it matches throughout the website.
