They just split the Personalzation feature into New App. And they did mentioned "About Personalization: it’s no longer available for new Shopify installs after Nov 12, 2025, but existing users aren’t affected. If you were using Personalized Experiences, pages stay published and everyone just sees the Default Variant when MTUs run out." Guess what, someone just pushed the new app and REMOVED THE YEARS OF PERSONALZATION work. Just PUFF, GONE for ever.

The support team is the diamond. Yeah the builder works, its UI is intuitive, there are built in AB capabilities, all the bells and whistles. However, online it all works until it doesn't. This is where the supports matters! Responsive and knowledgeable! We were updating a theme and something broke. Mobile CSS issue. Within minutes the support identified the line that was giving us hardships in our theme. They saved us days in QAQC, development and helped us bring the new theme in front of our customers. On Shopify the biggest cost is the opportunity cost! Thanks Sweetan! You are a Rockstar!

I want to be fair. We have used Shogun for years to build our pages, and for the most part, its core functionality as a page builder has been great. However, we recently discovered a critical technical issue that is being caused directly by the Shogun app. It is injecting conflicting code onto our product pages that completely breaks our Google Rich Snippets for product reviews. This means our star ratings are not showing up in Google search results, which is a significant blow to our organic traffic and sales. The most frustrating part is the complete lack of support. We have now reached out three times over the past [mention time frame, e.g., two weeks] with detailed, evidence-based reports of the issue, and we have received zero response. An app is only as good as the support behind it. As a long-time, loyal customer, it's incredibly disappointing to be ignored when facing a problem that is actively harming our business. Until this is resolved, Shogun is causing more damage than it's worth. I am willing to update this review if and when their support team finally responds and helps us fix this critical bug.

I only installed this app hoping to find a way how I can use this app for our website but there is no trial to find out and you have to pay right away to use the app. However, on the back end the app installed various code to my theme without me using the app. As a result and because of their permissions to be able to change pages, some of my pages have been completely removed of text. Uninstalling the app and will never use it again. Suggest PageFly app instead.

I love the Shogun app - it's a very complete, powerful framework that allows quiet a bit of customization. I recently had an issue where the Shogun team had made changes to how a specific element worked within the interface, and I communicated to their support how the old manner the element worked was actually one of the best things Shogun had going. By the next day Support contacted me back telling me they had decided to hold off on the new change, they put the element back how it used to work. And said they would update it later on once they included some of original working mode. Their support team actually welcomes and listens to customer feedback. That is something that is not common from an app developer.

The customer service staff of shogund was very nice and responded in a timely manner, but the software often ran out, and the desired results could not be saved after many operations. Some of the saved content will also change, such as the size and background of the picture. Last but not least!! It is suggested that shogun's form collection function can be linked to shopify's backend customer list, so that we can easily collect customer email addresses!The running speed of the software really suggests some optimization!

First of all, the shogun support team is super helpful, kind and fast. In page buildung itself, I never found a single thing they couldn't help me fix within a couple minutes. Huge props and thanks for that. Page building and publishing couldn't be easier. If your shop needs high class content, Shogun is definitely your way to go! Gives you all the options you need (and even more) while perfectly adapting to your shopify theme. Only downside we have is translating. The connectivity with Shopify's own translation tool (Translate & Adapt) is really bad unfortunately and still the best one out there. Translating a shogun page in shopify is really painful and if you update a page, layout changes don't update to the translation. Only way to change a 3-lingual page is to publish a copy of the new page and translate it from scratch. which costs loads of time. Not ideal for multilingual shops but still the best I've seen so far. Really hope I can give an honest 5-star review for the shogun team one day. But the translation issue is a bummer unfortunately.

The Shogun page builder is easy and intuitive to use for making good looking blogs - but it certainly helped that a collegue made a 30 min tutorial for me. One small glitch is that it if you try to add too many elements before publishing sometimes they don't work. Having said that the results are infinitely better than using the blog function in Shopify. The other thing to notice is that the customer service is exceptional for third party software. They respond quickly and even follow up! Imagine that!

I have been using this app for a couple years and have mixed reviews. I find this app to be nice for formatting a page with images and simple text, but full of glitches and so hard to use when you are creating a page with columns and lots of text with different formats, sizes, and links such as a "stockist page" It acts up like crazy and changes the formatting of the lines over and over to different options that were not selected. Adding a couple stores to my page is like a 45 minute venture to get it right. Plus the text formatting box pops up right over where you are working on the page so you often can't see what you are typing and formatting until you click away. I will likely begin to shop around for a new app when I have some time to invest.

Used this on Bigcommerce for years then moved to shopify. Better and less expensive alternatives like Gempages out there. Also, this will install a ton of code in your theme that you will have to remove manually if you uninstall it. Shogun did not respond to our numerous emails for help to remove this code. We eventually got rid of it all but beware if you decide not to keep using this.

I reported a glitch in Jan 2024 (the team at shogun confirmed) which was affecting the conversion rate of my landing pages (variant buttons hover / focus / active style). The support team kept saying "it is on the roadmap to fix" but now in July 2024, they just ignore my requests for updates. It's disappointing that a good product is being shaded by a lack of transparency and communication.

UPDATE 2024 - although the product is good. The price has unfortunately increased 300-500% ($69 pm to $250-500) to which is beyond excessive. Locked in as have pages built here. Expensive lesson to learn, would avoid. ----- Shogun is easy to use and we created most pages with it. The service is very good. When we have any questions we always receive support and an friendly answer even on the same day. In many cases, an employee from shogun fixed the problem for us and explained how we could deal with it the next time. Sometimes, the layout of the preview at shogun looks different then the published page (desktop and mobile). In addition to that, it is not that easy to create a page that looks good on every smartphone. All in all, Shogun is a very good program for people who would like to create pages very easily. I really recommend it!

Unexpected HUGE charge Trying this app is not advised… I was shocked to see that I was automatically charged almost $400 (with taxes) after trying this for a day. My $1 / month trial Shopify account just set me up to get taken advantage of. If I automatically was charged $39 like it shows is the price then I would understand but this is 10x that. So throughout time Shopify has improved their landing page/theme configurator quite a bit to where add ons like this aren't necessarily needed anymore to build a terrific-looking ecommerce site. That said, Shogun is still, by far, the quickest and easiest way to drag-and-drop your way to a beautiful website. It appears that, with Shopify having a better theme editor, they are focusing more on allowing multivariate (A/B) testing for conversion rate optimization, SEO, etc. If they had a 'lite' version that was $20 a month for those of us who like to do a quick-and-dirty change, that'd be well worth it. But the reason for the 3-stars is simply one problem: value. For small businesses who need to tightly control their costs there has to be a lot of value for almost $70/month. By the time one were to spend $2k/month for Shopify Plus, there are a better range of alternatives (like optimizely) for landing page optimization, so I'm not sure that the product fits on the upper end of the price scale. I'm uninstalling it for now and will keep an eye out for the Dev to have the stripped down page building function as a standalone and I'd be re-subscribing if it's affordable. But as-is, it's not.

I found out that I had a major issue with my site over the weekend (the links behind all of the images inside my Shogun pages were not working). So I reached out to Shogun via chat on a holiday Monday (Labor Day). They were quick to respond and said that they found no issue with their app on my site. A normal conversation with a normal app team would have ended here. But, Rhys at Shogun ACTUALLY cared about me and my Shopify store and making sure that my site was working. He dug in a little further and found another app that I had recently installed that was actually causing the issue. STILL not finished, he actually took screenshots of that other app's code and sent it to me to send to the other app developer to tell them exactly what to change to fix the issue. AND THEN he said that if the app developer if the app that actually caused the issue would not agree to text fixes or make any changes, that the Shogun development team would take over and do testing to make sure that all apps were working together. Holy cow! I cannot get over the customer service! Seriously legendary.

We've had a great experience using Shogun. We built a beautiful homepage and landing page quickly and had great support from the customer service team. They helped us with any issues we ran into promptly and even jumped on a few video calls to take us through some training. Sweetan has assisted us a few times and was incredibly patient and knowledgeable. Their online tutorials and community posts are also a great help, thanks, guys!

Compared to other page builders that I have tried this one is complete trash! You can't even use all the features unless you pay for it. Not even if you want to create only one page. Seems like a complete money grab. Update: Because of the limited features in the free plan you are not able to fully test the app. The app did not have the features that i needed.

Shogun is a phenomenal app. Slight learning curve at the beginning, but after a couple hours you will have it down. Support team is awesome as well, always there to help with issues that come up. Used to love this app so much and ive definitely learned a lot but overall it feels very clunky, the design side of things is restrictive at times and you often come across errors/bugs/glitches - the support team are super helpful and reply quickly but the app itself is not as seamless as it used to be/feel. I have 3 different stores using Shogun, all were built with Shogun originally but i've recently decided to come away from the app as a full time tool and use it now just for sections and the occasional landing page. I think the thing that pushed me over the edge to do this was the introduction of product templates but only to those on advanced plans. None of my stores need ad advanced plan, so this felt like a bit of a slap in the face to us who have been paying for years waiting for such feature to arrive, only for it to be locked behind an upgrade paywall. I did reach out to the support team about this but they didn't help this time. Hopefully you guys will listen to this feedback and improve an already-great app. Thanks!

Es macht mit Shogun richtig Spaß Seiten und Blog-Artikel zu erschaffen. Wer etwas coden kann wird hier noch bessere Ergebnisse erzielen können. Schade, dass die Global snippets nicht im günstigsten Plan enthalten sind. Der Preis ist auch etwas hoch wie ich finde. Was mich jedoch sehr stört ist die schlechte Performance wenn man größere Seiten oder Blog-Artikel schreibt. Leider neige ich dazu sehr ausführliche Inhalte zu schreiben. Dann fängt alles an zu hängen und man kann nicht mehr vernünftig Tippen. Das muss dann extern passieren. Dann gehts nur noch mit copy and paste der Texte. Für Shops, die nur Ads schalten sollte dies aber kein Problem sein. Ein großer Pluspunkt ist auch der schnelle und nette Kundenservice.

From the standpoint of a developed business with hundreds of pages and 3 stores, Shogun is great. We can build pages and tailor them to any device and sync pages across all of our stores. Before this I was hand coding front end stuff with CSS and HTML which is a grueling and cumbersome task in comparison. Support is fast and helpful, though we rarely need it. There is only 1 bug that remains to be fixed since I started using it a year ago, but I consider it a nuance of a very robust backend/ behind-the-scenes system. Also, the "equalize column heights" feature has always been a bit buggy and sometimes stretches your page into infiniti, and as you scroll to try and catch up the problem worsens, not unlike a dog chasing its tail, if the dog's body kept stretching at a function of the speed at which he is chasing it.

I've been testing out a few page builder apps to avoid having to re-code our product page templates every time there is a theme update. After checking out Shogun, I was really impressed not only with the functionality of the app itself, but also the customer support! Sweetan assisted me a few times and went above and beyond. Not only answering all of my questions, but also providing detailed information i needed. I will say there is a learning curve, but plenty of support and I love that you have the ability to create sections and not just a full page in the builder.

It's imperative that they ditch the 'Free Plan' option. It allows you to build pages without limit but it's useless because you can't actually do anything practical with them. As someone else mentioned it's like a game with no practical use. It's clearly a crude marketing ploy to lull you into doing so much set up work that when it's time to press go, there's nothing you can do. Lots of time wasted and the minimum cost is too restrictive for small businesses. Cheers lads.

After running into some issues with their scheduling feature, and after a long wait to have it working again (roughly 8 months), I can say that now the app is working flawlessly. Why it took this long to fix such an important feature I still don't understand. Having said this, we find the app extremely useful, and now that the main problematic issue has been fixed, we have no complains about it. Being completely honest when we encountered the scheduling issues last year we looked at the competition as we thought about dropping Shogun back then. Not a single app comes close to the level of controls and features that Shogun offers. So we stuck to it and now we are glad we made that decision. We use this app on a daily basis and it saves us a lot of work and time by making it extremely easy for anyone in our team to update the content. We had given one start initially when the issues were happening and now are changing it to 4, given that they solved their problems and that they made a great effort in keeping us informed of their progress. Had it not been for those issues I would have given them 5 stars from the get go. Update: Our frustrations with Shogun are back. The HTML Shogun builds is VERY poorly built, it literally adds hundreds of unnecessary and they follow little to no semantics. I've complained a few times about this, and their response is 'that's how our team built it'. Oh well.

Most of the similar apps offer a free trial including a limited amount of pages such as 1-3. This app advertises a free plan but once you download it there is actually no free plan with pages included. You can build as if you're playing a game but cannot publish anything to test it out without one of their paid plans. Just thought that should be disclosed. In case you may be considering another app that allows 1-3 published pages before you have to upgrade.

The best app to date, their customer service is amazing. I have no knowledge of code or web development, but with this app, I feel like a PRO. When I began to stumble and became dumb founded, an expert chat box with a REAL PERSON appeared, he not only explained in laymens terms how to do it correctly, he also demonstrated using a "in chat video" of my current store, and current situation where I got stuck. Within minutes I got unstuck, learned something new and with no knowledge of any real web develpment or code, created an amazing page for my website. GREAT page builder with absolutely fantastic support. I was considering a different app to get around a problem I was having, but after Andre quickly solved the issue I was having I decided to stay. I am on a legacy plan that fits my wallet and needs perfectly, so crossing my fingers I am not forced to upgrade to the new plan that would be 5 times the cost given the number of pages I have. if that happens, I will be forced to change apps because of financial limitations. But until then, I will stick to Shogun and sing its praises to all and sundry. (I hope they let me stay on my current plan...)

I spent 10+ hours using Shogun to build my Shopify theme, after everything looked good I downloaded my theme & uploaded to my live store only to find so many issues created by Shogun - biggest being the entire product detail page lost all data. I confirmed w/ Shopify experts that it was a Shogun issue. I reached out to Shogun multiple times for support & there only answer was that it wasn't Shoguns issue. Without "Shogun", the page would no longer be possible. It is a very useful application. When I renewed the design theme, there was a problem with it, but they were able to fix it right away. I was expecting it to take a long time to fix the problem since I was inquiring by email from Japan, but the problem was solved in a few minutes.

It is indeed helpful for page editing, but it will be a bit complicated, and it will take a while to master it. Customer support is very helpful, and you can find them if you don’t know it.

Pretty amazing experience. My website went down for a day and at first I thought it was a shogun issue but it turned out to be a shopify issue. Sweetan, who I spoke with at Shogun still helped to rectify the issue even though Shogun had no reason to help. Amazing!!!

Shogun support got right back to me when I emailed them about and issue I was running into with integrating with Klaviyo, and they quickly helped me resolve it. Typically Shopify apps don't have great customer service, so I was pleasantly surprised by their quick and helpful response!

It is unfortunate that the free version allows you to work in a very limited way. While with other page builders you have access to much more. I wanted to try shogun but because they keep everything so limited with the free version I am not much with this.
