In general, the app works fine. It is, however, very unfriendly for multi-language websites. When acquiring you as a customer, they tell you that everything can be translated. It is only after onboarding that you find out it is not the case. There is a lack of documentation on translations, and some functionality can't be translated at all. Be aware.

We use Yotpo for loyalty and reviews. They've been a great partner for us! They were extremely helpful during our migration to Shopify this spring, and any time we need assistance, they respond quickly and are always helpful. Today I had an urgent issue to try and resolve for a customer and Nyle helped me get it corrected in just a couple of minutes and even went above and beyond for me. Aside from how great their support is, their Loyalty platform has been great for us compared to older ones we tried over the years. 10/10

Based on our experience, we do not recommend Yotpo for businesses that need reliable support in high-stakes or legal situations. During a recent legal matter, we depended on Yotpo for documentation tied to their SMS platform. Here’s what we encountered: A formal letter provided by Yotpo included an incorrect phone number, which their team later confirmed was a template error. Our legal team required corrected documentation and supporting records (including metadata/logs) to meet court standards. Despite the urgency, there was prolonged back-and-forth on what could be provided and how. Critical records needed for admissible evidence (such as underlying logs tied to opt-in data) were not immediately delivered in a usable format for the case. The situation escalated to the point where legal pressure increased, including motions filed in court over missing or insufficient documentation. Our opinion: When everything is running smoothly, platforms can seem interchangeable. But when a serious issue arises, the level of support and accountability matters most. In our case, we did not feel adequately supported when it mattered most. If your business relies on SMS/email platforms, make sure you fully understand what legal-grade data and support they can actually provide before committing. Team WOLFpak

Yotpo, as a company, overall has been a disaster for us. It has been the worst business decision I have made in 40 years. After churning over a million dollars in subscriptions and 3,000+ customers, earning money from all those while it was happening, only to discontinue the service themselves, I am not sure why I thought Loyalty and Rewards would be better. Support is not good and takes weeks for an answer. The Direct Rewards feature is not functioning correctly and requires internal assistance to complete, which can take weeks. No one can give you a straight answer. Do yourself a favor and RUN! Yotpo has killed our momentum and business, and I would not recommend ANY of their services. We tried them all and paid dearly, figuratively and literally.

I have been using this app for 8 years along with their other apps, Yotpo Reviews and Yotpo SMSbump. I waited way too long to delete their clunky apps. And because I was a long time member, they thought the need to disconnect my Klaviyo integration because I was grandfathered into their old plan and wasn't paying their "Premium Price". That's not MY FAULT! When I had an issue, they would try to get me to upgrade. Why would I want to upgrade and pay more money for less when I have been using your app since August 2017? Yotpo has left me with a very bad taste in my mouth.

The back end says "$25 free when you redeem 500 points" The front end says "$100 free when you redeem 500 points" AND "$10 free when you spend 100 points" This doesn't exist at all in the back end! When you try to contact support they say that they want you to spend $1,000s, yes you read that right - THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to have the app work?? Like what??? The app should work no matter what! I do not believe that even if you paid the app would work as there is a MAJOR disconnect between the back end and the front end. The code just doesn't sync with the system. I believe they are experiencing a major tech issue and don't have the support to fix the bug. Customers are constantly emailing me saying the loyalty program does not work and things are grayed out when they have the points to redeem them! It's a nightmare! I regret setting it up with them. I will be switching providers as this app not only does not work but there is 0 effort to fix the problems and I have been emailing them for months begging for a fix. I would upload screen shots of the issues and communication if I could. Negative stars in my book. Total waste of time!

Horrible experience. The company keeps charging my credit card even after i un installed the app. I reached out to them after I un installed the app and to not charge my credit card but they still kept doing it and told me that under the contract they were able to do it as both parties need to say in writing 30 days before to cancel. I was on a enterprise custom plan and was paying a hefty amount as well. And on top of this the real issue is that they automatically renewed the contract for another year with even notifying me first. When i asked them that I was not informed about the continuation of the contract they said and i quote "a. Make sure our clients' shoppers' experience is seamless and uninterrupted. b. Plan our budget and roadmap according to our annual agreements. We are making sure we foresee partnerships year over year and plan accordingly. " this is a company that does not care anything about their customers and have sneaky ways to empty out your pockets. Think twice before installing this app.

We use to use Swell and they were purchased by Yotpo. Yotpo customer service only can get be assessed by email using a ticket system that takes about a day to get an answer. When they have an issue there is no answer for such as why does this customer not have an awards account. We have been a customer of theirs for years and on the Shopify platform for 10 years.

I've been with Yotpo for the last 2-3 years and one thing that would make me never switch to their subscriptions and fill product suite is the lack of customer service. Of course everyone is using AI bots now, but their email reps have no sense of urgency in fixing tech issues (such as customers unable to claim their rewards). There is a serious tech issue going on where multiple customers are getting the "don't have enough points for that" message when they clearly have over enough points to claim the rewards they would like. And these are very loyal customers which has created a frustrating situation for customer service having to wait for customer service reps at Yotpo to get back to them. For this reason, we will more than likely transition to another rewards platform over the next few months.

The interface is so confusing, nothing works properly when you set up a system. I would say the main issue is the difficult to set up/use interface, and customer service that is below standard and very unhelpful. Do not use Yotpo as they have shady business practices and poor customer support. We made a big mistake signing a yearly contract for Yotpo SMS, Reviews, UGC, and Rewards. 1. Yotpo offered four free months of services by signing a yearly contract with them but still charged us $5,245.80 USD for the most recent quarter when the free months were supposed to begin (at the end of the contract). This is explicitly stated in our contract with them. When I brought this to their attention, they said they'd look into it, and it has already been weeks without an update. 2. If you use Yotpo SMS there is a "reloadable" balance to fund your messages. However, it turns out according to their terms of service this reloadable is nonrefundable, even if you stop using Yotpo for SMS. We currently have $5,681.42 USD in that account which is now just "Yotpo Bucks". I understand this is in their terms of service, but it is simply an unethical business practice. 3. If they try to sell you on the benefit of having an account manager with them just ignore it. Their account managers have a high turnover rate and hardly get back to you. Don't make the same mistake as us as it might cost you $11,000 as it did for us unless we enter litigation. I wish Shopify had higher standards and considered "terms of service" and customer support before approving an app into their Certified App Program.

This is without a doubt the most difficult problematic app that I have attempted to install and customize on my website in my 11 years on shopify and 26 years selling on line. Instructions are not concise and there are errors. Having to communicate through chat is a HUGE time sucker. It takes days to get an answer to something that a 10 minute phone call would fix. I love the "redeem loyalty point at checkout feature" but just try to install it! It works on a checkout extension that is only available for Shopify Plus. I am just about to delete the app and ask for a refund. I have wasted 3 days on this and today is number 4. I have been waiting over an hour for someone in chat with and I have been Number 3 in line the whole time. I already have smile.io and have since 2016. This just sounded easier for my customers to redeem if they could do so at check out. I am beyond frustrated at this point. Update: I could not get help so I discontinued the app. They owe me $40 for the money that I added to the SMS/email app. I asked for the refund and was told to uninstall that apps first and the refund request would be processed. After that all communications were cut and I cannot contact them. My emails are blocked as well. How unprofessional is that? I have never had to say this about an app, but HIGHLY do NOT recommend.

You can get up and running from no Loyalty Rewards program to a fairly sophisticated program complete with a landing page and referral pop up in a breeze. Moreover, technical support is readily available. I had an issue with setting up my outgoing referral share emails to a customized email body. Gabriel was able to quickly get on a call with me, diagnose the issue (a setting I needed to toggle on), then test the emails with me. All on screen share. As a bonus, he showed me how to quickly set up a new page on my Shopify app that I could use as a referrals only landing page for calling up in a pop-up at checkout. Sweet. I'm excited about how my customers will respond.

We had a nightmare week trying to migrate over from another system and it not working for 98% of our customers on our website. We could only get support overnight when we were asleep and they were not being able to fix the problems at all and we just kept going around in circles. We were losing money very quickly in a week of no rewards for our loyal customers. We decided to migrate again to Yotpo and they have been exceptional. All migrated over within a few hours and live on our website. Customers could see the rewards bar straight away. The app/plugin is more intuitive and much easier to set up. Then when we needed help for some personalisation, their 24/7 chat support was second to none. Fixed issues quickly, smoothly and even found solutions that most providers wouldn't fix! Highly recommend making the switch to Yotpo, you won't regret it.

I am telling my fellow sellers a cautionary tale. I have been with Yotpo for 7 years.. a long time in the e-commerce world. I have watched this company transition and what has become apparent is 1- there are major speed issues with all yotpo products on your shopify store 2- you will experience Google Console issues and they will expect you and your dev team to invest time to assist with a fix with no economic benefit to you 3- you will experience cost increases year over year and 4- they will have no loyalty to you if you are an older client or if your business goes through a hard season Of course, companies need to make money but their business model has slowly pulled in things like SMS. What this means for you, fellow retailer, is that you will lose compatibility with critical channels (like say, Attentive for SMS). Their response? Just move to us... bundle and save- and they treat the precious company you've built like a cable and telephone contract. This insidious way of doing business is bad for all small businesses. There are plenty of better options that won't weigh down your site, cause SEO issues and throw compatibility roadblocks into the mix (as well as save you a considerable amount of cash). This is my 15th year running my brand. My reviews are few and far between for stack tech however when I see predatory contract management that hurts business and overall operations I am compelled to share it to prevent the heartache and replatforming we are now going to undertake.

The online part works nicely, but I'll have to share the perspective of a brick and mortar retailer with ShopifyPOS. It stopped working on POS 4-5 months ago and it hasn't been fixed. unfortunately i have had an extremly hard time setting up the program. it isn't easy getting a hold of people to help you. if you arent doing their professional plan for at least $1500 a month then the help they give you is very minimal and it is very complicated. the customer support isn't responsive when you have questions. ive been trying to set up the program for a week and a half with over 10 hours put into it and everything is still a mess.
