Be very careful before using this app for free or paid plan (No Matter what) I upgraded my plan because I urgently needed more translation capacity. After paying, I found out that the new plan's credits would not be available until the next billing cycle. This was not clearly communicated before the purchase. Support did not provide a practical solution. They simply told me to buy even more credits or wait until next month, even though I had already paid for a new subscription. This is a very poor customer experience. I use Hextom across multiple Shopify stores, and unless this issue is resolved, I will be moving to another translation app. I cannot recommend this app based on my experience.

Absolutly don't take this app !!! I do translate (with IA) the website, everything where good, until they (WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION) rolled back completly the URL translation. Our website is currently under 404 for all our market, and they absolutly don't care. We are currently taking legal action.

The app is intuitive so it's easy to install and configure. It's also a true translation and properly configured to send the hreflang signals to Google (which many other translation apps don't). Now where the Hextom team really stands out is their support! There was a conflict with another app we had installed and Ingrid together with the development team were able to configure the exception rules so the other app could be fully translated and continue to work with the Hextom app! Not only was the app designed to address exceptions like this, the team at Hextom put together the solution and implemented it so our site works flawless in all our languages across all our apps! After trying Shopify’s native solution and two other translation apps, we still couldn’t achieve a truly complete translation, especially across dynamic areas and after-login/customer-only pages. Hextom was the first tool that genuinely allowed us to finish the job. What made the difference is the flexibility of the workflows: Visual Editor, “All translations”, Custom Translation, and Excel import/export. Combining these approaches, we were able to translate everything, including cart-related and after-login strings, and the final result is now fully consistent across languages. Support was also excellent. Ingrid took the time to understand the exact scenarios, reviewed recordings, explained the Visual Editor limitation with login sessions clearly, and pointed us to the right workaround. That clarity saved us a lot of time when we were already deep in execution mode. One note for other merchants: don’t judge an app only by the number/quality of reviews. Some tools simply do the job better, and this was one of those cases. We’re happy customers. Highly recommended for merchants who need a serious translation solution and responsive, knowledgeable support.

Support is not existent and the actual service is poor! It took me a lot of time to translate our gempages landing pages only to find out that they are actually NOT translated. They visual translation app actually replaces the words from English to the other language in real time every time which caused HUGE delays in loading the page and customer is not seeing his native language. Instead he needs to wait around 20 seconds his page to be translated... Ridiculous Tried to solve that with the support, but all they did was to say "this is how our app works" and stopped answering to my email. I tried to reach them 2 times for the last 2 days - no answer at all. Do not bother. There is a lot of other BETTER apps Update: Moved to T Lab Translator, they actually have the necessary functionality and RESPONSD to my inquiry

At first glance, it seems easy to use — but there are a few things to keep in mind. I was building a new shop, so the issues weren’t too critical for me, but you should watch out for the following: Indexing: Make sure everything is working correctly and that no links are broken. There’s a selector conflict in the Tails theme (the support team is helping me with this). Basic translations: Double-check them several times — sometimes they don’t apply as expected. Once everything is set up and running properly, I see no reason to use anything else.

It works. Bulk work is done by AI really great - choose the tone of voice before your first translation (wasted some credits by chosing professional instead of casual). Translation is really good, you have to do some extra work to get the details right, but the visual editor is great and makes this work a bliss - if you build your shop right .... - Customer support is super super fast, know what they are talking about and fixed each issue in a matter of seconds. Pricing is good for what you get, especially for the number of languages and to get started very fast. Love it, recommend ist.

Unfortunately, our experience with Hextom has been very disappointing for the following reasons: 1. Support System: In 2025, every serious SaaS uses a proper helpdesk with ticket numbers, categories, and agent assignment/shift handover. Hextom still does not — issues get lost or repeated endlessly, and we only hear “on the roadmap.” This is something that can be set up in one day. 2. Selector Issues: We have explained the selector problem multiple times, but it is still not solved. The mobile and desktop selector must be responsive and properly integrated into the header. Instead, it sits in the menu, breaking layouts and causing major UX problems. 3. Translation & URLs: Autopilot/AI translation breaks URLs by automatically translating them. Even if we fix manually, the system overwrites again. There is no “exclude” checkbox to lock values, which is a very basic feature. 4. Translation Styles: We were told translation style implementation exists, but no clear documentation or options are provided. For e-commerce, we need to choose between styles like “direct,” “title,” or “detailed.” 5. Inconsistent Languages: On live sessions (via heatmaps & recordings), some parts remain in English while others show Spanish or other languages incorrectly. This happens even after translations are applied. We confirmed this from real IPs, not just /es URLs. 6. Redirection Logic: The system only checks browser language, not IP. As a result, a customer in France using Chrome in English is shown the wrong version, causing serious localization and conversion issues.

Update: when you purchase extra words, you don't get them. The app is not working properly, contacting support is only agitating. App is working pretty good, works well with the Taiga theme. But the translate AI is horrible, 50% of lines is wrong and it randomly doesn't translate bits of text at all. It also translates identical lines totally different and is not consistent at all. You can't trust it to translate languages you don't know. They charge you alot for it, which in my eyes is not appropriate with the quality delivered.
