I used to manually manage my inventory over 3 separate websites. It was time consuming and also very daunting, Not to mention it would lead to inaccuracies across the different website inventories. We tried a couple different apps through Shopify to help none of them worked or didn’t work like we wanted them too. We tried Trunk out and as soon as we had it figured out and all site linked it was like magic. A change to one site and the sync happens at all sites linked. To change inventory on all site you only need to change it on any site you choose or through Trunk itself and the rest is automatically update. Solid app. Highly recommended

12.6.2025: This app is a nightmare if you're using Etsy and Shopify for managing inventory. I keep inventory in Shopify and Trunk keeps on making additional changes to inventory amounts after hard entering correct numbers. Support gets back to me when they feel like it. With the holidays, this is just a nightmare trying to keep track of what's sold and have had several issues with overselling products because their app is screwing up my actual inventory counts.

I had used a few sync apps in the past but always got into some problems. we run multiple websites and B2B sites and some retail outlets, so having stock info correct is vital - we have been using trunk now for a month and its been problem free and runs happiliy in the background syncing for us from all the sites without anyone being the master (unless asked) this has changed the amount of manual work per week by hours.

We are utilizing this to track inventory across Etsy & Shopify, but I think we'll also explore other channels now too. The app is working great so far, and it's an incredibly powerful tool. The only reason I am giving it four stars instead of five is that, although this has been existence for a while apparently, the user feedback that they implement seems to be done slowly or not at all. There are a LOT of things that can be improved for user experience. Here are a several things I think it is missing, from only a short amount of time using it: - Inventory adjustment history: It would be nice to see what has changed based on order IDs from the linked channel. This would pair well with an 'UNDO' button. - Sorting & filtering: Honestly, how is this not a feature yet? I want to be able to see items that do and do not have components, low stock, no stock, etc. As far as sorting goes, I don't understand it. My listings that have SKUs ending in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 will be arranged at complete random. It's a headache trying to scroll up and down to find things. - Search Accuracy: Wow, it's bad. If I search a specific SKU, I don't want results for 50 others. Keywords is unusable in my opinion, it returns 50% of the items in our store. - Bulk Editing: I spent HOURS adding components, updating stock levels, and setting alerts. You have to do it one item at a time. It is so click intensive that after 3 long days of working on this, I woke up with pain in two of my fingers. While you can contact them to get a CSV for stock levels, their response times are quite slow so by the time it gets updated... It will be wrong. - Components with Multiple SKUs: Ah, this one is really awful. We have ~200 SKUs that have more than 1 'component'. I have to manually enter every component over and over, even though the items I'm adjusting are nearly identical. If you just utilized commas and auto-populated exact matches it would save so much time! Components: EXAMPLE1, EXAMPLE2 - No need to click add on each one, they are exact matches. I'm dreading the last bit of inventory management because of this. - Inventory Categorization: I think this is somewhat based on parts of the SKU such as PRODUCT-STYLE-COLOR, but it will categorize similar items as PRODUCT-STYLE-#####. My problem is that items are not being correctly categorized. They're grouped incorrectly, or not at all. That makes for more time of me searching to find which SKU didn't show up. - Master Inventory: Okay, we have components which is AWESOME. How do we not have an option for 'master' items? The majority of my components are based on multiple items (3 pieces, 5 pieces, etc.). Once these are set up with the 'master' (single piece) I don't need to constantly be seeing them. It causes the browser to load slower, and because of the sorting being all over the place, it takes me longer to find what I need to find. Fortunately if you set things up like us, you can just head to Shopify to make adjustments there. Nonetheless, being able to even star certain items or tag them (provided you add filters) would be huge. - Go to Listing/Inventory Item: Please add a button that allows you to click next to the item for each channel it is on. If I want to see my Red T-Shirt on Etsy, a button that will open a new tab and send me there would be convenient. It would help streamline necessary updates such as fixing duplicate or incorrect SKUs. - Low Stock Notifications: These are great. I'm not sure if they only send them one time once the item dips below the set alert, or if another is sold it will send the alert a second time (hopefully), but I really need a page that lets me see what is low. I'm a little worried that this isn't a current option. Again, filtering or a separate page would resolve this. - Items Per Page: I have to be honest here, I think it is a bit lazy your team hasn't added a simple dropdown menu to adjust the amount of items that show up on each page. I think the default is 12, which takes up only 50% of my screen. I had to make a script that automatically changes it to 25 any time I visit the website. This isn't a huge deal, but I cannot imagine implementing this would take your team much time. If I remember correctly, this was a suggested feature over 5 years ago that still hasn't been implemented. - Export/Import/Update by CSV: This would be a really excellent feature. Speed up making changes, easily search through listings for low inventory, keeping track of active inventory, allowing back-dating in case there was an issue. All this being said, I'm impressed with the app and will gladly pay for it until a better option comes my way, or these changes are implemented. They've done a great job thus far.

After using it for 5 years it crashed completly. Put things in stock that were out of stock for months and vice versa. Created massive disruption, had to stock count over 30k pieces. Support blames etsy. Closed etsy connection and chaos still ongoing. Such a shame, moving to a more reliable app before I lose my amazon prime over so much overselling.

We really wanted Trunk to be the answer for syncing inventory between our Shopify stores, but unfortunately, it ended up creating more problems than it solved. At first, it seemed like a solid tool, but over time it became a constant headache. The monthly subscription price kept creeping up, which might have been manageable if the software actually worked as expected — but it didn’t. The biggest issue we faced was inventory accuracy. With thousands of SKUs, Trunk repeatedly made mistakes when updating stock levels between stores. We dealt with frequent oversells and found in-stock items marked as unavailable. These errors weren’t just annoying — they hurt our bottom line and disrupted our operations. Fixing these issues required a lot of manual intervention, which completely defeats the purpose of using an automation tool in the first place. It’s been time-consuming, costly, and damaging to customer confidence. After giving it plenty of time and chances to improve, we’ve decided to walk away. If you’re managing a large catalog or multiple stores, be careful — this app might end up doing more harm than good.

Trunk has been a life saver. With selling on multiple channels, it was a monumental task to keep track of the inventory and make sure we didn't sell out on one of the channels and have an angry customer. We were using trunk to manage bundled products with components and if an order came in that sold different products that used the same components in a kit it would only record the sales for one of the items and was causing some major inventory headaches. Trunk has been a great help with solving my inventory issues. My product consists of multiple options to allow customers to choose their preferred colours and variants. I also have multiple listings with materials of the same SKUs and the bundling & kitting function from Trunk allows my inventory to be tracked accurately. Trunk has been amazing for my handcrafted jewelry business, particularly during my busy seasons when orders are coming in constantly across retail and wholesale platforms. Trunk also offers a brilliant workaround to Shopify’s constraint on inventory management with variations: if I have a single pendant but the customer can choose chain lengths, I don’t want to manage inventory quantities for each of the 3 different chain lengths. Instead, with a single master SKU, Trunk will sync all the variations, and when the pendant is sold, the other variations all automatically go to zero and the item is marked as sold out. A complete time-saver! Trunk allows me to spend more of my time jewelry-making, growing my business, or just plain relaxing, instead of spending hours each month on multi-channel inventory management.

I've been in ecommerce for over a decade and have tried MANY inventory software. Trunk is hands down the simplest yet most effective solution out there. And it's made for small businesses - their monthly fee reflects that. Support has been AMAZING. Things seem to just work which seems like a low barrier but alternatives are too cumbersome or require complex workarounds to get what I need it to do. Trunk is perfect for me, which is simple SKU linking between listings in the same shop and in other sales channels. I'm hoping there'll be more interface features soon. Updated Review | Trunk App works really well in syncing product inventory. What you need to know: Increasing inventory (especially from Etsy) may take a minute to update. Everything works super simple to start up and link up. Had a hiccup with some adjustments with my inventory in which James and Arturo swooped in to help me out. The only major downside is if linking with Amazon: Amazon delays inventory adjustments with their pending orders, and this will absolutely cause inventory to be off. You will need to keep an eye on this every few days if you have low inventory and hot selling items. Otherwise, great App and I look forward to using it with my next shop.

You know, my company has been sync'ing a lot of products with other vendors for quite a long time so I feel qualified to speak about things. Trunk is a extremely easy to set up and use app, mismatched SKU matching works well and is a fast process. The sync times we see are very fast, in fact at one point today my team simply went from one tab on the browser to the other and the SKU count was already updated. My 2019 review: Stock syncing is an absolute necessity for my business and I am delighted to say Trunk handles this with ease. It saves me so much time and stress, I was always worrying that I might over-sell but since using Trunk I have had no problems whatsoever. Support is always fast and friendly. 2023 update: Unfortunately I've started to experience a lot of stock syncing discrepancies over the last few weeks, leading to overselling stock that is out of stock. It's unfortunate as Trunk always did this better than the rest so I'm really disappointed. Hope it can be rectified soon but looking at other reviews it seems I'm not alone.

When I first installed this app, it seemed to work great and it would be perfect for what we needed. Is it too good to be true? Then the problems came. I updated inventory on a product and then it would revert to restocked. I thought maybe I did something wrong so I fixed it. I then added stock for a different product and a customer asked me if it had sold out. It had not (had they not asked I would not have known this was happening!). So I look and all the items that I had updated with new inventory were not synced up. The problems first came to my attention on a Wednesday when I thought I had did something wrong. Who knows how long it actually started before that. I contacted Trunk Thursday and again Friday. They got back to me Friday evening saying that there was something wrong on Etsy's end. Except how could that be because Shopify was also coming in incorrect. I had provided screenshots. Either way, there seems to be no urgency. The entire weekend we're losing sales because items are showing out of stock and then we are receiving orders for items that are out of stock and I have to cancel orders. In all, we have 5 days (that I know of) where this app is not working properly. What a nightmare. I LOVE the idea of the app if it worked the way it was suppose to. I am disappointed that an issue that starts on a Wednesday is not even resolved by Sunday (and is still unresolved as I write this). For this reason, I can not confidently recommend this app.

I have tattoos and candle-making kits in my shop. The tattoos sell either in single design or in combos. Trunk was the only one that allowed me to package my items so that it would deduct available inventory from all the listings that would use a given product. Plus, it synchronizes from Etsy to Shopify and vice versa. Two things made me hesitate before subscribing, it doesn't calculate COGS, and it doesn't link with Quickbooks. But I still went for it. I did have a spreadsheet attempting to keep track of what I had in each shop, but it really wasn't working out for me. Then, I wanted to sell one-of-a-kind hand painted items and worried about selling the same item in different shops at the same time. I decided to give Faire a try. Setup is super simple! I have my Shopify, Etsy & Faire shops synced up. It is so much easier to use and look at than my spreadsheet was. It syncs in real-time, so my inventory is always accurate in all my shops. Other pros - I've noticed a few instances where I had my SKU entered incorrectly in one of the shops. I can also print out my inventory to make counting it at the end of the year so much easier. I did feel like the price was kind of high because it basically does one thing, but it works beautifully, saves me so much time and worry about selling inventory I don't actually have. Less chance of human error. It's worth it!

Trunk has filled a gap that we sorely needed filled. We have been looking for this solution for over 12 months. Previously we used inventory software that was over $1,000 a month and yes it did a lot more than this, but we didn't need all the bells and whistles included. Using Trunk has saved us hrs of work every month and more importantly stopped us from missing sales from stockouts. If it can also manage orders in the future to break down bundles into single products without our intervention, it will be a game changer but well worth the money for its current functionality.

I have struggled to find an app that works flawlessly for syncing inventory. Some of them have so many features that even if the inventory part works, something else doesn't. Trunk eliminates that headache. I am now confident in my stock levels. Being able to have Shopify as my "master" stock level and having it import to Etsy is unique among the apps I have used, and is perfect for my needs.

I highly recommend using Trunk. I had researched other companies, but nothing compared. They made it SUPER convenient for me to manage all my inventory across multiple listings and platforms. I can't imagine going back to not using it. SUCH A TIME SAVER, and instantly calculates my inventory after a sale. Having to manage hundreds of orders a week was getting hard to keep up with inventory changes. It was a little tough to grasp at first because I suck at technology but with the help of a super great customer service I was able to figure everything out. The quick response rate was incredible. We are currently using Trunk on three websites that share products and inventory. When we first installed Trunk we were a bit unsure wether it would fulfill our needs as we had tested another product sync app before and it did not quite work as we wanted. We use a lot of bundles on our websites that could easily make inventory sync difficult. Trunk was easy to install on all websites and it instantly convinced us that it was the right choice for us. It simply does the job. More importantly, the stock is synced within seconds after an update in any of the stores are made, which is exactly what we need. I wish I had Trunk *before* my shop went viral! I've been on Etsy for over 5 years, and added Shopify just a month prior to my shop going viral. Trunk has so far changed the stock management of my business for the better in many ways. We print clothing to order, so we needed to track inventory of blank clothing rather than products on our website and not many other App's can do this. I recently switched our inventory program to Trunk and I'm amazed at the simplicity of how it works. We use the duplicate SKU feature that allows you to have more than one listing per platform with the same SKU and it makes listing creation and management so much easier. The responsiveness of the developer is really good. It's super important, and a big reason why I finally tackled the switch. Switching inventory systems is something that no one wants to do ever, but it had to be done, and so far, I'm happy with it!

Absolutely brilliant. James is so accommodating - he gets back to you very quickly and does everything he can to help. Even if it's something he's looking into, he lets you know he's read your message and follows up as soon as he can. I had a problem with every other inventory management system I tried as they would not allow me to bundle my item variations, so instead of 1 item being available, they would state I had 20! Fixed my problem entirely and gives me peace of mind that I won't oversell or miss out on any sales as I had to manually change my quantities when I had sold them. One of the more affordable inventory management systems too, with gradual price increases depending on how successful your business is, order wise. No massive jumps between stages, no limitations on how many sales channels you can have (as long as it is available to integrate). I'm hoping this will help me grow my business naturally.

The app and the team are fantastic. They did multiple bulk uploads of 1000s of records which are allowing us to really manage complex inventory with nested bundles very efficiently. PLUS the app uses SKUs instead of shopify variant IDs. Using variant IDs would just be a management nightmare the moment you import something the wrong way.

It Just Works! Flawlessly. I desperately needed a way to easily track duplicated SKUs across multiple sales channels to save myself hours of headaches and potential lost sales. I wanted to create a base/blank item and use that sku to re-list the same item multiple times, but with different "options". Trunk does all the work, and aligns my inventory between each listing, and automatically updates each one once a sale is completed. It also allows me to list the same items on different e-commerce platforms. As long as I use the same sku, everything remains in sync! It's just flawless. Trunk is a powerful tool that works seamlessly. We use it on our store for two uses, which it performs excellently. 1 - To calculate the inventory of our products, based on our inventory of the lower-level piece parts that make up our top-level products. When I was looking, I couldn't find any alternative apps that did this as well as syncing inventory to multiple sales channels (Amazon, Etsy, etc). 2 - We sync the inventory of our BoM from Quickbooks Online, to retain the ability to run accurate inventory reports, based on our inventory of physical parts instead of top levels products. During set up, I had a couple of questions, both were answered swiftly and helpfully. Would certainly recommend.

We just started using trunk a few weeks ago for duplicate sku syncing and it works like a charm! They did a great job with this app. By duplicating skus we were able to create a starter kit comprised of duplicate SKUs at a cheaper price, and still accurately track inventory of the actual skus. I'm very happy with this app. I wanted a way to link the stock on my website with that in my long established Etsy shop. Trunk lets me do this so now all my social media directs customers to my site but I can still list everything I make on Etsy as well. Previously I was neglecting my own site as I knew it would be easier to get a sale on Etsy. With some more work on my SEO I am sure Trunk will more than pay for itself quickly in saved Etsy fees! Trunk was easy to set up and has worked well updating stock levels between the two. The notification of duplicate SKU is very useful especially if you are syncing an established site with a lot of listings.

Do not hesitate to get this on your Shopify if you need to sync grouped/bundled inventory to individual stock items (SKUs) - we mainly use it to sync two instances of the same SKU, one in a group setting on our website, and one as an individual product on the same website. James deserves 6 out of 5 stars! We use Trunk to sync 3.200 SKU over 4 locations and have each SKU twice per location so that we can charge diffrent prices online and in store. All other apps and developers gave up on us, blaming shopify. So the rest gave up and James took an extra step to make his app work for our demands. Great job!! I was sceptical because of the high volume and the speed. I testes a lot and have to say trunk works reliable and fast. We are making 7 digits per year, so there is some traffic. Trunk really provides what we were looking for in an inventory management app. Since we have multiple Shopify stores, and within those stores, multiple product variants that relate to the same base inventory product, we needed a solution to aggregate those shops and products and have them in one dashboard only. We even set up bundles, so if a watch is sold, not only the watch case is deducted from the inventory, but also a strap and a clasp. Once Trunk is coming with its reporting tools, there's really no difference to the significantly more expensive apps. I have a children's clothing business where I sell on Etsy and Shopify. Our team needed a way to compile kits, and ensure that we weren't selling more stock than we had, or missing a sale even if we had all the components to build a kit. The mass upload capability enabled us to efficiently implement the system with over 300 variant kits. Inventory updates on child components takes about a minute, and the database updates instantly. Having more visibility on exactly what kits are input in trunk would be beneficial, and eliminate the need for a separate kit database, but seeing the child components of a parent kit is relatively easy. Overall, enabled us to painlessly implement an accurate stock tracking system.

Trunk has changed the game with their inventory tracker. It's super easy to have everything in one place that is automated instead of a manual process. I sell custom hats on Etsy and have many different listings to tend to. All listings contain the same hats and without trunk I would have to manually go into each listing and change my inventory amount. We did a ton of research before we decided to go with Trunk. We are a small company and needed a solution that would scale with us, but could not start at the price point of some of the larger products out there. Getting it installed was a little rough, and we had some issues that were brutal to over come, but Trunk worked with us (through Chat, no phone communication allowed) to solve the problems and now it it working great. It did take a few weeks to get the problems solved. I am glad we worked through the onboarding to get this program to work for us. For the first time, we are not dealing with over selling products. I give this 4 stars because the customer service and communication need a little work.

We tried a lot of inventory apps to link Shopify and Ebay and Trunk was ahead of the class in everything we were looking for. We run an Ebay store with over 35,000 items and having to deal with out of stock sales was a massive headache that kept us from even listing on the Shopify. When linking with Trunk our inventory had instant updates. Something would sell on Ebay and within seconds the inventory on Shopify matched and vice versa. Definitely worth the money for me. Trunk is exactly what I was looking for. Keeping track of stock between different platforms was causing a real headache, and often I wasn't even sure how much stock I had. Now I've got a neat, well organised and automated system in place and I can concentrate on other aspects of the business. The ability to create bundles has also been a lifesaver as we sell a lot of products in sets; this means that when a customer buys a set of multiple items it is automatically adjusted on all other listings. It's also easy to see, at a glance, how many we have remaining in 2s, 3s etc.

I had quite a complex requirement of syncing two Shopify websites (a B2B and B2C) but also including complex multi-part bundles/custom products. Trunk is so simple and totally reliable so far. I typically try to avoid using apps because I usually find them to be unreliable in some way and I don't want added costs, but Trunk is one of the best apps on the app store and is worth every penny. This app is the exact solution that I've been wishing for when it comes to managing inventory with multiple sales channels. It's so simple and elegant and it just works - I have not noticed any errors through all of the inventory adjustments, sales, restocks and refunds we've had so far (some of which were a nightmare before Trunk). It's worth noting the app is still in its early stages so there are still many improvements to be made. The big upside to this is that the dev team is actively communicating with users - posting about their product roadmap, taking feature suggestions, etc. But even this early, Trunk is an incredibly nice solution for an incredibly painful problem.

This simple yet powerful app is a dream come true! The tech support by James is fantastic, prompt and professional. I connect my two Shopify stores and my Amazon listings and everything is syncing perfect! Once installed the app on your Shopify store, just make sure to add first your own main store as Sales Channels, where the initial correct inventory is located so that its inventory is the first uploaded on the TRUNK database as that will feed the initial data to the Sales Channels you will add later. Other than that so far everything is great and I am SO GLAD that finally I will not oversell my limited inventory products, saving me a from lot of troubles especially with Amazon... :( Can't wait for the Houzz implementation!
