STAY AWAY FROM THIS APP. Trynow basically broke our website for a few months. The reason being is because their software doesn't play nicely with Shopify and it was hard to spot that it was their software causing the issue (which is why the issue went on for so long). Costing us high 6-fig, possibly 7-fig losses in revenue. In addition to the app breaking our digital ecosystem, their dashboard is misleading and their team/dashboard will encourage you to lean more into the app than is logical. The biggest shock of this entire thing was their refusal to refund the trynow fees from this terrible experience. These fees were a fraction of the total financial losses we suffered from the app. For reference we are a digitally savvy, fairly large, digitally native brand. With lots of experience using shopify apps. This was the worst app experience we have had in 8yrs on shopify.

Love this app!! It has increased my CVR by 2.5x and my AOV is up 30%! Actually insane. One of the best apps I have found that has changed the entire trajectory of the brand. This solves the biggest issue for consumers by taking all the risk out for them and only seeing upside for 7-Figure Brands like mine! Stoked!!

I had extensive experience with implementing this app as I went through the steps of enabling it on two Shopify storefronts. We ultimately postponed launching our Try Now program due to internal strategy reasons, so I'm sharing my thoughts only on the setup and onboarding: The concept and out-of-the-box solution is simple to implement and easy to customize on the TryNow portal - a basic array of options for including/excluding products and segmenting what part of your store should be (in)ineligible for TryNow, creating TryNow collections that can be plugged into your store navigation, PDP widgets that help both inform the customers about the program and easily differentiate between charged vs authorized payments, etc. On the flip side, if you have a custom store theme, the out-of-the-box solutions might not be compatible with your store layout. In this regard I found it challenging to constantly backtrack and troubleshoot what went wrong. The onboarding team was quick to reply to my inquiries and even offered their Web Dev services to implement a custom solution to make the app work. Still, I think that the customization and extra coding neccessary should've been part of the pre-analysis and onboarding package, not an afterthought.

My overall impression is TryNow increases your competitive advantage. For Duradero, the premise of Try Before You Buy works incredibly well competing against established giants. We are battling brands that have been around for over 100 years in the industrial work boot space. We are wining through service, value, and unique fit technology. TryNow gives us another tool to better engage with customers and give them a level of confidence to try something new that currently none of our competitors are utilizing. In our initial TryNow outreaches we have had higher than average engagement and conversion. We have just begun to scratch the surface on points of entry and looking forward to expanding. TryNow has easy accessible education and use cases that we are excited to roll out. The team at TryNow has been great to work with. The integration, communication, and response to questions has been top notch. We discovered a glitch between Shopify and LOOP that was quickly communicated and resolved by the TryNow team and all we had to do was point them in the right direction. The implementation was not without challenges but I judge them based on their ability and speed to respond to those challenges and it was exceptional. We have worked very hard developing our product and messaging. TryNow helps us meet the customer where they are and offer an incremental level of service while elevating our customer experience. Once we can get that product into a customer’s hands, they’re going to keep it. TryNow is a priority to enable more customers to get their hands on the product. A $10 decrease in CAC, when you can extrapolate that across thousands of new customers, that’s more than going to offset an uptick in return rate. The team at TryNow have been exceptional partners.

I think this app has a lot of potential. I have not been able to use it yes since I cannot get the support I need to get it working on my website. When I contacted support, it took days to get back to me and I was told that they do not offer onboarding and I was referred to self onboarding in the merchant portal. I still can't get the app to work. Like I said the app has a lot of potential but the support is lacking. I think that any developer that offers an app on Shopify, should be prepared to provide excellent support and if they are unable to handle the amount of support, then they shouldn't make their app available on Shopify. Maybe the developer will see this review and do the right thing, which would be to provide excellent customer support that will get the app working. I will change my review to 5 stars if the support team helps me with the installation so that I can actually use the app.
