We love vend and have been using it in our Franchise for years as our point of sale. It's very easy to use, the simplicity saves us time and energy training new retail staff and helps us give our customers a quick in store experience. We use it both on a laptop and on an iPad and would 110% recommend trying this Pos system. Now things have gotten even better with the new vend shopify integration. With a few simple clicks you can have your entire inventory connected and online. We have used Vend connected to our Shopify store for years but now it's better designed, more streamlined and easier to set up. If you are using one inventory I suggest loading everything into vend first. Then just use the 'publish to shopify' button and away you go. This solved shopifys problem of no cost pricing so using vends reporting for important info like finding out your product margins, top sellers, staff sales etc is just an extra bonus. been using Vend for a few years and generally been very happy with it, we have it synced with shopify and all has been good. Suddenly last saturday sales from shopify stopped being synced with vend. Spent countless hours with vend online support trying to get this sorted but it just seems to be going round in circles. Vend support needs to step up.

Vend releases regular new feature updates and seems to take customer feedback seriously. Overall pleased with Vend, and I appreciate that they seem invested in working alongside the Shopify platform, rather than pushing a proprietary ecommerce platform. Shopify to Vend connection was easy setup and we have experienced minimal disconnections/errors. Able to print barcodes However, initial setup process was longer than anticipated and involved re-tagging our entire physical stores (2 locations) and multiple comprehensive inventory counts, though this was partly due to migrating from a different POS platform. It's worth it, but be prepared to work.

Vend POS changed our business - we went from working on weekly csv file uploads to our website and having to handle many tricky situations with stock errors to a seamlessly integrated system. We now have a realtime view of our outlets and stock. We can't imagine life without this application and all it's feature. Our entire business is centred around vend and all other apps are supplementary to keep our business running the way it should.

Vend has been a god send for us. About a year ago we switched from another leading bikeshop POS / Inventory management system purely because of the caching / sync'ing of sales during internet outages. However we got so much more! The integration with our shopify site makes maintaining our inventory a snap between our virtual store and our bricks and mortar shop. It's been a fantastic experience! #yayVEND

We have been using Vend for a couple of years now. I was looking for a portable, scalable POS that was in the the budget of my small business. I visited a retail show in NYC. Most companies required an IT department and all manner of special equipment. On the very last day, I talked to this company that seemed to be a fit even though it was designed half a world away. I could use the equipment that I had, build on it and use existing web hosting services. Once I started the porting process, In 30 days, I all 20K+ products and 20 suppliers ported over. More importantly, I no longer had to own and maintain a server. Give Vend a try!

For us Vend is the best POS software on the market. One of the best interfaces I ever seen and great support and customer service. Before Vend we tried Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite and SAP and for us Vend is more superior than all of them.

I have been using vend for 8 months as at January 2018. It has been a revelation. Although always professional, I now ooze proffesionalism to my customers. Many comment on the system... I use the socket scanner within vend and I now charge for everything when manually I would hand small bits away. Linking to shopify is my next step so here's hoping the next review is also 5*

Vend's support is terrible. Most times, their response time is terrible, and their typical response is to simply repeat the problem back to you - "It's not a bug, it's a feature" kind of thing. For more than 4 months, our products have been getting duplicated in Shopify, and after many, many attempts to get it resolved, the only effort on Vend's part has been to delete the duplicates for us, though it's just a matter of time until they reappear. The interface on Vend's side has a "Unpublish from Shopify" button. It doesn't actually do anything. If the product's already on Shopify, you still have to manually seek out the product on Shopify and manually delete it. To update products that don't have pictures, you have to delete the product from Shopify, "unpublish" it from Vend, then republish it. This is the only time this button's useful. I'm giving it 2 stars only because the interaction with Shopify is somewhat better than Airsquare (never again).

We would leave less than one star if possible...after 2 months of their tech guys trying to get Vend to communicate with our shopify database, the Vend system literally destroyed our entire store inventory of over 4000 items, costing us thousands of dollars of time to repair the damage they did...and to top it off they refused to refund any money we spent on implementing their system despite the fact that their product did not work as advertised, and we could never use Vend. We will be reporting them to the ACCC in Australia and anyone thinking about choosing Vend is welcome to contact us so we can warn them of the imminent damage to their online inventory. Vend admin was not helpful in the least. Beware throwing money away on an inferior product that only leaves you with a giant mess to clean up, I am not sure we will ever recover from this debacle!

I've been with Vend for over 4 years now and have grown with the system. There are a few developments it could do with like bulk amendments on product as CSV's aren't always the easiest to use. But it links to my Shopify system and accounts package Xero great. Theres so much more it offers but when we first started out systems like this weren't readily available and this system has improved and I imagine will only do so. We really like the till system and find it easy to use. Setting up product is tiresome but isn't it always. So be prepared but once set up it's ideal for my shop and online stores.

We've been using Vend and Shopify together for 2 years now. With a quick set up, our online sales, inventory and everything else syncs beautifully and with the addition of Xero, all our sales information seamlessly integrates with our accounting software. Reporting is great and we use all this information to make better decisions for our purchasing and our general business strategy. We are not business experts, so these tools help the 'average' person understand and enable us to manage a professional business.

Works fairly well, but had to remove the full-link functionally from Shopify in order for it to not screw up Vend's product counts and item information. In my opinion, the app should ONLY allow Vend to be the "master" and push information into Shopify, with the exception of allowing sales information to be "pulled" from Vend's stock (which is what I wound up setting this connection to do at our shop http://www.BIYHomebrewSupply.com which has worked pretty well for us so far) What would make it 5 stars? If the Vend/Shopify integration allowed multi-location inventory pushing so customers could see what was available at each outlet. Now that would be handy! Overall, pleased with it thus far.

When we first opened The Bee Hive in Drury we had no knowledge when it came to POS, Vend was recommended to us and was one of the most important decisions we made for our business with no regrets. In the four years we have been opened we have only required urgent help three times our problems have been resolved within minutes. I must drive the VEND Team crazy sometimes with the silly questions I ask through their chat line they have always been professional and have helped me through my so called crisis allowing me to continue on with my day.

Set up of Shopify was a breeze. Didn't need any external company to set up the site, and the wide range of template styles available easily fit with our needs of a functional store. Integration with Vend was incredibly easy, and the interaction between the two systems to manage orders is very clean.

Bad reviews have merits for sure. However, everything has a flip side. We can't say how well (or not) VEND works with multi-channel retailing. We only sell in our brick & mortar store and online through Shopify integration. One of the biggest positives VEND has got going for it is that it's a proper POS system with COGS and inventory reporting, not this "pos" Shopify calls theirs. Shopify's POS is lacking on so many levels (COGS reporting, anyone?). So if you are a single channel retailer, with a need to integrate Square Payments in your store AND being able to sync inventory with online sales through Shopify, VEND is more than capable. We'd recommend it to anyone.

The work great together (No IT now how needed) 3. Staff Love it 4. Its a lot cheaper than any alternative I have seen to date. We pride ourselves as been the first Irish retailer to get VendHQ. Update 11/9/2016: 1 Star: Another day, another integration issue that makes me wish I never started with Vend. Be aware that any discount codes you issue in Vend will not be reflected properly in Vend. They say "this only impacts how the sales display in the history page and the totals in reports". That means, you have no idea how much money you took in (how do you balance your drawer???) and the report you use to pay your sales tax is INCORRECT, thus you are paying money to the government that you didn't even take in. Sadly, Vend has some super cool features that I love but they repeatedly let me down when it comes to super important stuff from a business owner's perspective. Update 11/6/2016: 2 Stars: After a ton of work and waiting, I am happy to report that the csv upload and Shopify sync is now working properly! I also feel like their support is getting better. Stay tuned.... Update: 10/20/2016: 1 Star: Things are still bad. They now are telling me that when you update your inventory by uploading a csv file, that does not trigger an update of the items in Shopify. So, our replenishment that gets done 2x/week never gets pushed to our website. Not good. More frustrating is that I have gone 21 days without an update. Vend is neither capable, nor interested in being capable, of working with Shopify. If you have multiple retail stores and a website, they are not the solution for you. If you are interested in disappointing customers on the regular, give them a shot. They don't care about inventory accuracy. WHATTTTT? Yes. You read that correctly. But, never fear, they always end an email in "Cheers", which is like rubbing coarse salt in your fresh wounds. Their support is HORRID. If I wasn't already in too deep, I would change services for my POS.

We left the pretty scathing review below of VEND two years ago and since then we've hung in there - limited the functionality we used and let other customers help them break in their software ... to be fair they gave us one of those two years free subscription and being fellow kiwis we wanted to continue using them. But two years is a long time in app land and we've finally made the call that other apps and Shopify core functionality have kind of overtaken VEND at a fraction of the price. Stitch Labs have a more complete and less buggy multi-channel inventory platform and Shopify POS is well ... free! Maybe if you were using VEND for absolutely everything - as a platform not an app - it might be cost effective but they're not there yet and why have an average everything when you can pick a range of outstanding apps that have really nailed what they do, where they play in your functional landscape and most importantly - reliably integrate with each other so that you don't have to worry if it's going to work or not - it just does. We had over 20 technical support tickets with VEND which were all around reliability of integration and core inventory functionality not working - over a long period of time. This cost us money and time. We've never had that with any other app. Here is the review we left a couple of years ago.... ........ I wouldn't recommend anyone uses vend until they sort out their major inventory issues. 90% of our stock has been inaccurate for a month now due on constant issues that vend has been having. It seems to be a problem of a company growing to fast and not being able to keep up. It so frustrating as when its works it is a fantastic product. Unfortunately at the moment it doesn't work. Their customer feedback rating has dropped by 10% in the last month and we know at least 48 other businesses that have been having major issues. Vend has been unable to fix multiple system errors for a month now our support ticket goes on for pages. They just keep passing us on form person to person.

We've been using Vend for well over a year and the system is ok if you just have a bricks and mortar shop. Unfortunately if you do anything else, Vend are very unhelpful. We are a multichannel retailer and link Vend to our website with Shopify, and then both link to Xero for finance. Because Vend won't accommodate even the simplest request (even with a year's notice) we have to manually close down the online register every night at midnight 365 days a year. Any other system would have automated this, but not Vend. And when you speak to support they just say it's up the product dept (who you can't communicate with). We are left with no option, but to move to another system. Shame really as if they just listened to their customers and modified the system to fit the demands of modern day businesses, it could be a great system.

Unfortunately Vend fails to live up to it's simple promise of managing your inventory. This shortcoming results in selling items shopify knows you don't have in stock. 0 counts become -1 as customers are allowed to purchase sold out items. Disappointed customers and time consuming service issues because of inventory shortage are not good. Admittedly, Vend is unable to sync consistently with shopify. This results in poor communication between Vend and your Shopify inventory. It took over 30 sessions of trouble shooting, 50+ emails back and forth, I even had to pay for "premium support" so Vend would communicate with me openly about the syncing issues. The positive thing is every individual is willing to help. However, none would admit the company secret, vend can't properly manage your inventory because the system knowingly sells your products into the negative. Yes, this even happens when you have inventory tracking in shopify and when you're set to "not accept back orders." Finally after 1 year back and forth vend executives finally admitted the flaw and offered one month credit. Well that's a fraction of the losses and disappointed customers. In short, if you're looking for kind people that "care" to help vend is cool. If you want a system that works and tech teams that don't spend their days making excuses for faulty execution I recommend skuvault.com the pricing is similar, it is many times more robust and importantly ACTUALLY DOES IT's JOB! Consider this a warning. DO NOT USE VEND IF YOU NEED ACCURATE INVENTORY MANAGEMENT. If you are not concerned with accurate inventory by all means, this might work for you and your business.

Great program, but missing key features for what I needed in my business. It is not easy to switch tax rates from invoice to invoice and the system only supports one currency. Other than these issues, Vend seems to be a great solution for inventory management and lots of other benefits, but did not meet my needs.

As has been mentioned by a couple of other reviewers Vend has some major inventory issues that have completely buggered us up. As a result the integration with Shopify and Xero are all but useless. Vend's customer support is declining and they frequently pass you from person to person, or on to their 'Knowledgebase' with no fix. Unfortunately, it appears Vend is trying to do too much too soon, or is woefully understaffed to handle their growth. We like the interface but are shopping for a new POS provider.

2 months using Vend now and I have to say that it's been a horrible experience. Products get deleted out of nowhere. I have to recheck inventory every 3 days because products quantitiy changes, variants deleted. It's a total mess and we are not satisfied with it at all. I do want it to work becasue it seems like it could be a great software however this is a downer for us. We reallly like the interface but it is worthless if the CORE's not strong.

Best POS out there. Have spent many years working on outdated software, Vend really was a breath of fresh air. Vend links to your online store via shopify flawlessly and also syncs with Xero so you only have to enter your invoices once. All in all a very well thought out piece of software that is still evolving vis regular updates, can't wait to see how vend performs in the future .

I have had the opposite experience than everyone else. I'm pretty computer literate and my husband is a software engineer so we are not exactly computer newbies here. It started with me having to go through each product and reediting sales tax info as it didn't carry over correctly - 200+ products x 4 minutes each with reload time = about 13 hours. Not fun. But we are set up so it is ok. Only to find out that the import was bad and certain things were corrupted. So we had to start all over again. 13 more hours. Sales tax still doesn't work correctly between vend and shopify (I have some products with it and some without it) so I have to manually calculated it for each sale in my brick & mortar and manually subtract it out. The receipt is still wrong because there is no way to subtract a given $ amount from a sale (like $2.52) Then bug after bug after bug after bug. products are randomly disappearing and being erased, SKUS are in the system in duplicate because their system is missing this double entries which corrupted stuff. If you erase the main variant in vent (like red shirt size small - if it is the first one listed) while editing in your shopify side it erases the ENTIRE PRODUCT in vend with no warning or error message! SO am issue. Today it won't push new product pricing from vend to shopify which is a HUGE issues, so I am editing it on both sides. In the past these errors have occurred and I have had to edit each products pricing to a wrong price and then back to the right price - after they pushed a bug fix. - Again dozens of hours. I am on month 5 with the system and am I have yet to go 5 days without an issue needing support. I have lost over 50% of my online sales due to the time I have spent on vend issues. I could hire a staff person just to deal with this and still make money because my online sales would be better because I could do my job promoting and marketing! - how ridiculous is this! Not sure if I am a fluke but I would not recommend this if you have another option. ----- Update: OK I can't figure out how to update a review. I have been using vend for about a year now. We were having a TON of issues in the beginning that you can read about below. Then with the help of vend eventually get things going smoothly or so I thought. They had added some new helpful features which I was very happy about. Then a little over a month ago I started to notice that my inventory was way off because my Shopify cart started to oversell. HUGE issue. When I started to dig into the system it seems to be pretty much system wide. Some things say no inventory which means they have not been selling for who knows how longs because people think they are out of stock. Others say they are in stock when they are not which causes over selling. In general it has cost me hundreds of $ in damage control drop shipping items and incalculable lost $ due to lost customers. Despite reporting the issue around October 20th, here we are in December with no fix in sight from my perspective - I haven't been updated in a couple weeks. So the damage continues to compound. I have to be honest Vend is seriously lacking the reporting features having to do with sales trends and doesn't have any of the slick bells and whistles of other point of sales such as full featured order management, and loyalty programs ect. If I am forced to hand sync my inventory I might as well spend my $100 a month on something else that has more features. Right now I am loosing time with hand calculating reports, hand monitoring rewards points etc. as well as hand syncing products and loosing lots of money on the lac of syncing which is why I went with this system to begin with. If you fall into the sweet spot for vend and are willing to gamble that you don't hit the bugs you will likely be happy with this system. However we are currently wrestling with the idea of switching to another system that doesn't sync but is more fully featured to avoid our current headaches of constantly running into catastrophic bugs. We gambled over the past year that things would be running better in the future - and saw the potential that vend had and still has to be a great system. However over the course of the year we have failed to see them live up to the potential and my head ache has only grown as our store. product diversity and inventory continues to grow.

Vend is a refreshing solution to the tired software-based POS programs. The easy inventory synchronization with Shopify is a bonus as it is already a superior product to other POS products I've researched and used in the past. Vend truly understand the independent business persons needs. This program is streamlined, efficient, and intuitive. Not only are you getting an awesome Point of sale system, you are getting one that easily and painlessly integrates with your Shopify store. Integrating your POS with your chosen E-commerce solution can be expensive and clunky but not if you do it with Vend and Shopify. On going support for Vend is incredible. The team are fast to respond and always on point. If you have a Shopify store and a brick and mortar store, Vend is a no brainer.

It's amazing to tie inventory into a physical store so simply. You can set every last bit of your products up using a csv file that is easily navigable and publish them right to shopify. I add my pictures in shopify and am good to go! The usability and the customer relationship management is super simple as well. All in all, I can't recommend it enough. Their customer support is great and the product just keeps getting better and better. Lastly it is an inexpensive alternative to a lot of other POS systems and since all your information is stored on the cloud you won't ever lose anything.
