How to pick between them
A ranking tells you which dropshipping apps other merchants kept. It cannot tell you which one fits your store. These are the things that actually separate them:
- 70% of listings do not say where the goods come from in the description the App Store surfaces. You cannot answer the only question that matters without asking the vendor.
- 35% of one- and two-star reviews here are about billing - being charged, refused a refund, or unable to cancel - against a 16.4% platform baseline. That is more than double, and the highest we have measured.
- The customer's refund still comes from you. The app moves your supply chain out of sight; it does not move the accountability.
- The best app on this shelf has 3.6% of its reviewers running stores in the global top 100,000. On the returns shelf the top app reaches 79.6%. Almost nobody reviewing dropshipping apps runs a store that sells much.
- If your supplier is itself a Shopify store, Shopify Collective does this natively and free.
Questions merchants ask
Is dropshipping still worth doing?
That is a business question rather than an app question, and this guide does not answer it. What the data says is that this shelf carries the second-lowest average rating of any large category on the App Store, at 4.06, and the highest billing-complaint rate we have measured.
Does a local supplier network give a better experience?
Not obviously. Among apps with fifty or more reviews, the vetted and local-network group averages 3.76 - lower than print on demand, sourcing agents or wholesale. The sample is small enough that this is a caution rather than a conclusion, but it runs against the intuition that paying more buys calm.
What happens to my imported products if I uninstall?
Ask before installing. Whether SKUs stay in your catalogue as ordinary products or vanish with the app is not something we can establish per app, and it is invisible until the day you leave.
