We use Helium Customer Fields heavily on our Shopify Plus store, and it has been an invaluable asset to our operations. Shopify's native features are quite limiting when it comes to custom registration, but this app completely bridges the gap. It gives us the power to create advanced sign-up and data collection forms using complex conditional rules that simply aren’t possible out of the box. The fact that it seamlessly maps everything directly to Shopify Customer Metafields makes data management incredibly clean. On top of a powerful and stable product, their customer support team is exceptional. They are responsive, helpful, and ready to assist with complex setups. Highly recommended!

An actual onboarding process would be nice. I mean, an actual human to show me around the tool on a zoom or at minimum a live webinar. They just send you to support pages to get started. $60 a month for a tool that's going to be live on my site indefinitely is a cash cow. You'd think they'd help it get started a little bit better. Way more coding than I anticipated.

However, my use case required multilingual support within Shopify Customer Accounts, which is currently limited by Shopify plan restrictions. As a result, I was not able to fully implement the solution as intended. Overall, a solid app with great support, but certain use cases may be constrained depending on Shopify limitations.

Our experience with both Kyle and Katelyn have been consistently extraordinary. They both have shown to take great care and pride in solving anything, from developer to user interface issues. The response is almost immediate and in many cases they will offer temporary solutions before a permanent solution is obtained as well as really thinking through an issue and create a multitude of ways and workarounds to achieve what is needed. I am so glad that these extended fields are NOT part of Shopify as I know that there is no way we would have been able to have some of our issues taken care at the level that they have. Helium in my opinion in customer service, knowledge, attentiveness and creativity IS the Gold Standard that ALL companies should strive to be. They feel more like really smart caring friends then just a paid service. Thank you guys, Dorian And again as an update they provided great service all around since our last review. Always great.

For my client, there was a business requirement to collect a lot more customer information than Shopify native could do. As we have also enabled Sparklayer for their b2b business we needed a tool that would work flawlessly with both Shopify and Sparklayer. Helium Customer Fields is easy to use, reliable and while some configuration issues occurred initially, support was prompt and the client is working as desired. Documentation was a bit slim on the ground when I first implemented things, but once I understood their process, it all got easy. Recommended.

Phenomenal support - I originally left a 1-star review due to a serious flaw: the “approve” button wasn’t showing on mobile when the list was long — which made it impossible to approve customers on the go. It had been that way for over a year, and I was told it wasn’t on the roadmap. - To their credit, Helium’s leadership stepped in quickly after my review. They acknowledged the issue, pushed a hotfix almost immediately, and offered a credit for the inconvenience. The COO even reached out directly and genuinely owned the situation. - The issue is now resolved, and mobile approvals are working as they should. It shouldn’t have taken this long, but the way they handled it once it reached the right person gives me confidence in their willingness to listen and improve. - Thanks to the team for finally addressing it.

I am using this app solely to replace the customer sign up/register account forms. Functionally, it's the same form, except for one major thing. It has a built in "invisible" recaptcha (no puzzles) that has blocked ALL the fake spam customer accounts I have been dealing with. Our site was receiving about 50 a day and I was constantly deleting them from here and Klaviyo. Exhausting. I didn't want to pay for an app when Shopify should fix this at the source, but I had to bite. It was too much work and no other IP blocking app worked. This is the ONLY thing. Also customer service is great.

Helium has enabled us to natively integrate our bespoke account registration/checkout experience with Shopify. Given the nature of our business, it's mission critical for a solution like this and, frankly, we weren't able to ID anyone else that provides this solution OOTB (vs. custom dev). Customer Fields has gotten better since Helium directly integrated Metafields into the Shopify admin and we're looking forward to the day when Shopify and Helium are able to partner more closely so that we can search by customer metafields in the Shopify admin (vs. view for individual customers). 5 stars without question.

Encountered a data corruption problem, of my own creation which prevented the Shopify registration workflow firing properly from my custom registration form. Brett at Helium did an amazing job diagnosing, testing and then recreating the corrected forms and data so I had a working fix. Amazing support. The product is absolutely awesome for metafield form building, collecting and managing data. They've done a great job on the API which shows where forms have been installed and are functioning. Forms can get quite complex, with trigger rules, view and hide, etc, so the form preview tool showing a green light for functioning elements is superb. Thanks Helium!

By far the most user friendly and design appealing app out there for custom forms. Our store specifically needed the option to APPROVE a customer registration form before allowing the account to be created and this was the only app I found that would do that. Avec Helium, il est possible de créer des formulaires des plus simples aux plus complexes, nous pouvons même créer des règles pour définir un nombre de caractères minimum, comme pour le SIRET. Si le formulaire vient à disparaître du site, le support intervient en quelques heures pour intervenir sur le code du thème pour trouver d'où vient l'erreur. Support très efficace. We just needed a simple way to add customer account verification to our registration form, and this was it! We have close to 200k customers imported from our old store, and I was afraid that this would put us into a price tier that was too much for the simple feature we were trying to add, but I spoke with their customer support and they assured me that we could still use the lowest tier since we're not using all of the customer management features that this app offers. The sign up forms will still work and we won't get bumped up to a higher tier automatically. Customer support is quick and friendly and easily answered all of my questions. We'll definitely keep this in mind if we do end up wanting to get into some of the more advanced features of this app. We appreciate you!

Helium will tag customers as "program x registrant", which will trigger to send welcome email with special discount, etc. It's been working beautifully so far! We use this app to help our customers register or edit their account using a form we have created in Customer Fields. Our customers are able to opt out of paying VAT if they are eligible and can start purchasing immediately without having to contact us to change their account and refund the VAT retrospectively. We had a small problem with how to add the 'Edit Account' link to the account page and after reaching out for help it was done for us, what more can you ask for. Excellent app and great support. DEC 2020 Update: This app worked like a champ for us. Completely reliably, helped us to process a huge number of complex registrations for an in-school shopping program that we ran. One of my top-5 apps on the Shopify platform. <<<<<<<< I hope to write a more detailed review when I'm not in the thick of this project, but this app is too good for me to not say something now. As a Shopify DEVELOPER, this is one of the best Shopify apps I've ever used. It works incredibly well, has insane flexibility, great APIs, fantastic documentation, and an incredibly responsive and helpful support team. If it weren't for this app, it would have been an arduous process to build the massively complicated intake form that we need for this shop. Customer Fields is great for asking your customers additional information when they create an account. This is so important for our wholesale accounts, but it could do wonders for truly understanding your target audience. When I had an issue getting a certain field to behave properly, Kyle from their support team not only fixed the issue fast, but also gave me a tip about creating a thank you page for our account creators. I would definitely recommend this app if you need to create custom fields for forms on your website. :)

Phenomenal app! Allows quick and easy custom form setup and custom meta-data manipulation. There are a TON of advanced features in their easy-to-use app GUI which allow you to capture, manipulate, and store pretty much any kind of data in almost any way you can imagine. ALSO, my personal favorite, the app offers the ability to code your own custom form solutions to work around restrictions imposed by the Shopify platform and for those extra tricky integrations between multiple 3rd party extensions. PLUS, their support is out of this world. I've had frustrating experiences with other Shopify app support teams, not the folks from Helium. I've never waited for more than a day to hear back, and more than once the team has deployed hotfixes for bugs we've identified within days. I do not often review apps, but I really can't recommend this one enough.

Cool and easy to use App!!! It's also good if you don't like the ReCaptcha from Shopify during the registration. You can deactivate ReCaptcha with this App (or you can use it). Easy to use translator for every language, so it will work for everyone. And: During the registration you can register much more fields as with the normal registration. Fields they are maybe also very important from the beginning for your customers, like Company-Name (for e.g. a later valid Company-Bill , VAT and/or TAX Numbers at the Bill add so on. Outstanding and useful. This app allowed us to collect additional information needed for our classic car automotive mail order business. Without this form, we don't know what kind of vehicles our customers have or other pertinent information like automatic or manual transmission, power or manual steering, power or manual brakes, how they use their vehicle, etc. There was an issue with the form (at first) because I didn't complete all necessary questions correctly. I contacted customer service and they responded the same day. The issue was totally resolved within 24 hours. They even made the form look more attractive with the CSS formatting. I can't say enough about their customer service and support. PLUS, the app actually works so we can more effectively service our customers with the right products they need for their classic cars. Update (July 7, 2018) This app used to be free, but they recently started charging a minimum of $10 for it. I was only using this so that my customers could make minor updates to their account (email, password), It's a good app but seems too expensive for what it does. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Exactly what I was looking for! I'm not sure why Shopify doesn't add this as a normal feature to begin with, but it is something that the customers should be able to do themselves (edit email, password, etc.). This app works great! BTW, if you need to make any changes to the buttons, you can do it in CSS. I had to increase the length of the button to make the text fit and it worked like a charm. I used the Stylebot app in Chrome to play with different settings before adding the code into the theme's CSS.

We couldn't run our store without Customer Fields from Helium Dev. It allowed us to save easily save vital customer information and print that information inside our transactional emails. The documentation is great and support from Helium has been even better, with quick and helpful responses. Don't hesitate to contact them if you need something custom with the app, or you aren't sure if it's right for your store. I have been using this app for a little over a month now and I love it! Before customers were only asked for an email when creating an account, but with this app I can add a password section.Before, when a customer signed up using their email, we would have to send them an account invite so they can create a password and we would not receive any responses half the time. Life saver! We are a wholesale/trade only company so we need buyers to provide us with a seller permit before they can shop on our site. Before, we were taking sellers permit numbers by people inputting them. This caused so much spam and filtering through them was a headache.
