This app is the WORST ... I have almost never had the experience of the app working when I need it to. I pay $20 a month for an app that fails to load EVER and I can't cancel it because I can't even see how many outstanding credits there are. I would prefer at this point, to issue gift cards to anyone who has a credit with me through Rise but I can't find them. DO NOT INSTALL

Our Shopify Plus store moved to the Rise app in 2022 and since then Gift Cards are the bane of my monthly accounting. Problems: Rise reporting was initially very poor and it required receiving monthly reports from our Rise account rep. Our Rise integrates with Loop Returns and every once in a while the webhooks duplicate store credits to customers making extra work for our team and costing us money in credit issued wrongly that is used by the customer before we find it. This month alone Rise duplicated about 7.5k in credit that our CX team had to find and correct. Cancelled store credit has no audit trail and leaving a note is not possible so as the accountant I'm left guessing as to why a store credit is cancelled and how to record the financial transaction. Refunds issued via Rise store credit on any Shopify Store (outside of the gift card|store credit payment method) does not show the amount refunded to the store credit anywhere on the order except in the notes field. Refunds to store credit do not reduce the amount available for refund on your Shopify order, so if you're not careful you could end up paying your customer for their order! Store credit is an adjustable balance, not a discreet one-time GC balance, which is a nightmare for accountants and breakage calculation. Rise store credit expiration date does not appear on the Shopify gift card transaction and is only available via Rise reporting. There is no liability by gift card | store credit balance reporting available in Rise on the V2 version. Only total liability Physical gift cards sold are not included in Rise's liability balance. I could go on and on about how much I hate Rise gift cards and store credit (customer wallets), but I suspect that many gift card apps are similar, if not worse. These products are geared for marketing teams, who happily sign up and don't give a crap about the backend nightmare they're creating for finance teams.

i was charged $578 for this app i do not even know what it does or what it is for i uninstalled it immediately because i got an error..then i go to pay my shopify bill and i have a charge from YOU guys for almost $600 for WHAT?! i want a refund immediately! there is no way to get in touch with a live person from your company i tried! ive sent emails. STAY AWAY SCAMMERS adverises a $16 a month option and then will find a way to charge you hidden fees my monthly balance was $203 and i didnt even use my shopify account once, They will refuse to refund you after scamming you. There is also no way to view an itemized bill of what you were charged for all it says is "app fees" which is insane bc ive never used the app, not a single order. There is also nowhere to cancel your subscription on their website, this is obviously done on purpose.

Alright, IT DOES WORK, and we have increased our sales by 16% in just one month. So far the feedback is very good on "account creation reward" and "cashback reward". We are waiting to see more positive feedback on "referral reward". In conclusion, this app is worth the money that we paid for it. The support is efficient too. AMAZING app! We've been looking for something like this for ages! I wish we'd find out about it 2 years ago really, this app is hands-down the best gift card app out there. They just made the whole gift card thing so easy to use and intuitive. It looks just like Shopify dashboard and they keep releasing new features all the time. The support team answered all of our questions almost instantly and our customers LOVE gift cards haha. Pricing is a joke for the added value we get out of it. So far, so good... and by good, I mean actually kind of genius. I love the idea of turning “thank you” into cashback, and it turns out my customers do too. It's basically a digital hug that says 'I love you, here’s some money to spend at my super cool shop. I can’t speak to conversions just yet (manifesting those as we speak), but setup was a breeze. I peeked at Smile.io and a few others before choosing Rise, but they felt like trying to assemble IKEA furniture with no instructions and three extra screws. Rise, on the other hand, just… works. Once you set it up, it handles the orders and quietly drops cashback into customer accounts like a little loyalty fairy. The tiered percentages based on lifetime spend? Chef’s kiss. It's like leveling up in a video game, but instead of a new sword, your customer gets cashback. And Rise is reasonably priced... definitely not pocket change, but also not “why does this cost more than my rent?” levels either. I am keeping my fingers crossed for strong ROI though, because let’s be real: good intentions don’t pay for toner. Also, waiting not-so-patiently for their referral program to launch. That’s going to be a game-changer and I’m already prepping the confetti. Customer experience so far? 10/10. Eddie (hi, Eddie!) has been insanely responsive... like, I-message-my-friends-and-he-replies-faster responsive. Every time I needed help, he was there with answers before I could even finish typing “help.” So yeah, off to a strong start. DO NOT USE this app if you're looking for a VIP-tier-based loyalty program. The app can be configured to send out an email when a customer "unlocks" a tier... however, the app does not explicitly tell customers what tier they're on nor allows them to easily track their progress toward other tiers. Imagine logging into a rewards program with your credit card, airline, or hotel and not being able to see what your status is. This app is broken until they figure this out.

We used this app for a over a year and is extremely expensive for what it offers and the results it delivered - we didn't really find any major shift in increased sales or customer experience compared to what we used before (which was Shopify Gift Cards). Also, when we uninstalled we learned a pretty harsh lesson - be aware that when you uninstall or remove the app, your customers won't be able to open the link to the original gift card sent to them - which is totally wrong & unfair to the customer as well as the brand. We were under the assumption that you can retrieve it via the Shopify backend. Additionally, if there was any expiration date associated with the Gift Card, then it would not honour it as well once the app has been uninstalled. I don't know how the app approval works but I am surprised this type of stuff was even accepted by Shopify. Overall, a pretty ordinary experience having spent a lot of time & money on this for well over a year - wouldn't recommend!

Disappointed with the Rise.ai App for Shopify I recently tried using the Rise.ai app for Shopify to set up a loyalty program for my store. Unfortunately, my experience with this app left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. One of the most significant issues I encountered was the sudden disappearance of the loyalty program flow I had painstakingly defined. It took a considerable amount of time and effort to create this flow, and losing it without any explanation or way to recover it was incredibly frustrating. What made matters worse was the lack of any logs or recovery options within the app. When something goes wrong or data is lost, it's essential to have mechanisms in place to help users retrieve their work or at least understand what happened. Rise.ai fell short in this regard, leaving me feeling stranded and unsupported. At this point, I'm seriously considering exploring alternative loyalty apps for Shopify. As a business owner, I need reliable tools that can seamlessly integrate with my e-commerce platform and offer a consistent user experience. Unfortunately, Rise.ai did not meet these expectations. I urge the developers of Rise.ai to address these issues promptly. If they can provide solutions to improve the app's reliability and user-friendliness, it would benefit both current and potential users. However, if these issues persist, I may have no choice but to switch to a different loyalty app for Shopify. In conclusion, my experience with the Rise.ai app for Shopify has been less than satisfactory. I hope that my feedback will help the developers understand the areas that need improvement and work towards delivering a more reliable and user-friendly app in the future.

It's not a trial if I can't use the features -and this is extremely frustrating because I am looking for a particular feature and do not want to purchase a $199+/mo subscription without being fully able to use the software. Like I said, I liked the UI, and actually was interested in the loyalty aspect of this program.

The app is not secure. Fraud was committed for more than a year using rise gift cards in our online store before we caught it. We found dozens of orders that used various names and shipping addresses that were paid solely with rise gift cards that were fraudulently created. Example: one "customer" had generated hundreds of $5 gift cards and put them toward 12 different orders over the course of a year. All gift cards were issued under different names and e-mail addresses, but all gift cards were put toward a single order. This happened over and over with other "customers." There seems to be a system since goods all shipped to different addresses. This has resulted in thousands of dollars in shipping and inventory lost. We contacted Rise, requested a refund for all 2022 and 2023, but we also feel this should be noted that this is even possible. Our team is floored. We had no issues to our knowledge 2019, 2020, or 2021. The problems we have found so far all started 2022.

The app is very expensive for what it is. I've had the app installed for a few months now and have not received any increase in revenue or customer retention. In fact, the majority of customers choose not to sign up for a loyalty card and prefer to proceed straight to checkout. Plus, they advertise their RISE.AI logo in all of the automated emails to customers. It doesn't make sense to have another companies logo on your website for free if you are paying for their service.

They have a huge “Powered by RISE.AI” logo at the bottom of the rewards widget. In order to get rid of it, you have to pay for the PRO Plan. It does not make sense for a company to advertise their logo FOR FREE on your own website, especially when you are already paying for their services.

There is lots of great guidance available on the Rise site to help you set up, but when I can’t find the answer I’m looking for, the customer service team has been outstanding. Just no. If you ever change levels, they will charge you the old platform fee + the new platform fee in the same month (paying double essentially). No usage days taken into consideration, which should be illegal frankly. We had to fight with them to get a refund. And their platform isn't very good... yet we ended up paying them $2k. I would not use this platform if I were you and if you do, be very careful about changing levels and the extra charges that they tack on. There are other options that aren't after your wallet. And BONUS, the make it hard for you to cancel. BONUS BONUS, you have to pay for your usage rate based on the quantity of orders you have as a store including ones that are totally unrelated to this platform (99.9% of ours were).

Updated review Dec. 13, 2022 - The head of customer service from Rise.AI personally reached out to me today to address concerns and issues I was having trying out the Rise.AI app. He went through with me all of my concerns and issues one by one. He also explained some of the challenges from their side with being able to satisfy all of my concerns. Although he was not able to resolve every issue and concern that I have, he was able to help me with some workarounds that I can live with and he offered to further provide advice and how to continue to improve the ROI for me using this app. I look forward to receiving his promised follow up on the action items from our call this morning together, but for now I am changing my rating to 5 stars as I am excited about the app but more importantly I am very grateful for the prompt and caring customer service and issue resolution response. I will continue to update the review here if the follow up expectations on the action items are not met but I do highly approve of the customer care from the support team at Rise.ai. Dec. 12, 2022 - Just installed the app and learning its features and issues. I do not have a lot of information on performance yet. But here are my initial impressions: This app is geared for large stores. If you are a small store like mine, don't expect to get some really needed basic features that almost every other single app provides as part of its basic packages. Ie. email white labeling - you have to pay close to $500 a month just to have this feature. Even small stores look very bad when emails to our customers are sent from a weird domain name that has nothing to do with our store and most likely will be blocked by most email servers as junk email. Beyond that, here are my other impressions so far: Pros: > point features and workflow setup are really cool > Gift card features are awesome > being able to award store credit instead of a crazy reward point system is very nice > Customer support has been very quick, responsive and helpful so far and although setup is a little more complex and harder to understand than other apps, documentation and support has been really good. Cons: > The biggest con is a couple of features that all stores need regardless of size that only come in a super premium $500 or greater plan. IE. email white labeling, apply store credit at checkout. This makes this app not really great overall for small stores. > Workflows are missing a couple of features that would be useful - awarding credit for social media likes/follows, subscribing to email, birthday/anniversary rewards > Only way the account modules work is with basic shopify customer account page. It would be great to have this functionality be able to integrate to other customer account pages like FLITS or other apps Overall I am lukewarm on this app right now. Seems to have some good features that I want to try out instead of the normal point reward apps and I like the store credit and gift card features but I am still very disappointed in the missing features or features that you have to pay $6000/year for. So if you are a small store like mine, I would really think twice about this app and the cost/benefit of the features that you can apply in your store.

not a fan. Glitchy. Some of my customers were receiving super high gift card amounts and I couldn't figure out why those credits were like that. They were supposed to get 1% cash back credit and I had customers getting $51 and $13 in store credits.

Their Customer Service is very fast and helpful! The option to send the gift card as a gift is super helpful and has made our customer service questions around gift cards decrease significantly. What could be better - having the ability to see the message on the checkout page and order confirmation email so people can be sure their message went through. Sometimes people have trouble sending/receiving gift cards, so having the option to send confirmation emails to the person who sent the gift card would be helpful.

WARNING When I tried to cancel my subscription they refunded the fee of $199 and turned around and back charged me over $618. They said it was my fault as I mistakenly clicked to change the plan when trying to look for a way to cancel it. When I reached out to support for help I was told I should have paid attention to the warnings about the monthly overages. I explained what happened and was told too bad. I paid $199 on April 12, 2022 to cover April 12 - May 11. I tried canceling on May 12. They are now refusing to refund me. This is outright fraud and a scam. Buyer beware!

So far we love the app! It has improved our customers experience by giving them the flexibility to automatically send the gift card on scheduled dates and write a personal message. We are now exploring their loyalty and promotional functions like sending BOGO gift cards. Customer service chat has been quick to answer and they understand their product well.

I struggled to import CSV file that complies to their format. Stay has been a great help to setup a video call and solve all the queries in order to get started. He gave me some practical tips as well. The app itself offers a better solution at an affordable price compared to other app. It is less complicated for my customers to understand. They get to see the amount instead and use the store credit when they make their purchase which I think it will increase the rate of conversion. Their email template is very useful. Overall I am very happy and I am not easy to please.

Since speaking with the Rise AI team I have reviewed and updated my original review of 1 star to 5 stars. The customer services and care of both Hila and Itay was 100% spot on and they deserve the 5 stars for that alone. I was originally disgruntled with the service and costs, but Rise AI swiftly resolved this for us and have gone above and beyond. It is refreshing to see this and it certainly has changed my opinion of them. I highly recommend the company based on their customer care.

I had sent in a 1 star review because they had charged my card a huge overcharge fee. I am amending that review now because Rise made things right and fixed the situation, giving me a plan that works with my business though is not an advertised plan. I did not understand that Rise takes a cut of EVERY order that comes through your Shopify, regardless if it is through your online store or your POS system in your brick and mortar stores. We are a coffee shop so as you can guess we have thousands of orders come through a month. Giving Rise a cut of every drink we make in our cafes would not be sustainable. If you are food and bev store like us or have a store with many small transactions a month I suggest you talk to Rise directly on a plan that would fit.

Subscribe feature is available now! There is no unsubscribe option allowing customers to opt out of email notifications from the app. I've been on chat time and time again to figure out options and the assistance is awful and leads to no options. Avoid this app if you don't want to deal with angry customers that can't unsubscribe. Hopefully I can find a better option. The headache with a large customer count is not worth the store credit function.

I love Rise! I recommended it to many people. I almost doubled my B2C revenue in 2021 and am hoping to continue increasing. Rise was definitely a part of that success. My only issue that I’ve been asking for is an integration with Stanped.io. I use Stamped for my reviews and currently am manually issuing rewards for reviews. It’s not ideal, as it adds another step to my process. I wish it were seamless.

Pricing is terrible. They don't just charge for each order Rise is involved with (store credit, loyalty, etc.) - they charge for EVERY ORDER YOUR STORE PROCESSES. It's over $150/month in ADDITION to the $600/year fee. *update* After contacting support, they bumped me up to the $200/month plan and refunded the overage fees. I would still like the price to come down a bit, but this is sufficient.

On top of the fantastic product, the team behind the app is equally as great. We have a custom theme that made the integration slightly more hands-on, however, the issue was promptly sorted out by John and Hila and allowed us to begin selling giftcards onsite far quicker than if we had chosen any other route. We use this to provide gift cards for our customers, it gets the job done. It's unfortuante we are not able to see more recipient information or delivery information. It would be nice if there was an option to schedule a delivery of a gift card to send manually in case a customer sends it to the wrong email and wants to send it to the correct one at a certain time. John was my support contact and he was very helpful and responded quickly. Thank you John, you helped all that you could and was very kind to talk to!

Review for gift card features only - This app from what I have seen is the best solution for gift cards on Shopify. Ability for customer to send directly to recipient (instead of sending to themselves) at checkout is key, and for some insane reason missing from Shopify. Some nice advanced features, particularly the ability to schedule the send date of the card, which is fantastic. And support was great! I had an issue with my POS / web API deleting the gift card and their support team hung with me for weeks trying to help figure it out. Highly recommend this app, especially after looking at some of the alternatives.

We just started using this app to manage our gift cards and loyalty program. The gift card setup is easy and quick, customers appreciate having a choice of gift cards designs and sending them directly to the recipient immediately or scheduling for later. The loyalty program took a bit more effort for us to grasp and implement because we migrated from a points system and Rise loyalty program works on store credits. The most amazing feature of this app is their excellent customer support - we've had multiple questions during migration and setup that were answered quickly and helped us understand the system. The support team is very helpful and patient with questions :-) Our Rise loyalty program will go live in a few days and I hope our customers will appreciate the simplicity and better user experience than the points collecting & redeeming option.

I have only just installed the app and am in the process of configuring it. I like what I've seen so far, but I'm only just now getting into it. I asked Support to remove the "Add To Cart" button from the Gift Card product and Eddie did that within a couple of minutes of my request. That was very fast support! I look forward to enabling other elements of the app as I learn more about them. I plan on updating my rating after getting a chance to use it for a bit. Our store is not live yet though so that may take a few weeks.

Update: Very pleased with the quick turnaround times for support. John has supported me through two different issues, including removing the "Add to Cart" button for gift cards. I'm glad I was able to resolve this before the next business day. Huge help. I signed up for a trial and didn't select the plan I wanted in time so was charged an annual fee. I reached out to support to help get this fixed. John responded within minutes and let me know that he submitted a refund. I was so impressed with the quality and speed of his response despite it being nearly 2 a.m. I've never experienced this kind of service before. I look forward to continuing to use this app and launching our loyalty program.
