The app works as advertised for the most part, but there's a serious issue every merchant should know about before installing. In December, my store was hit with 10 fraudulent gift card orders totaling over $3,200. Shopify flagged all of them as fraudulent, I canceled every gift card, and none were ever redeemed. Despite all of that, Gift Card Pro still charged me $85 in usage fees on those fraudulent, never-redeemed gift cards. When I reached out to support asking for a refund of the fees, they did not address the refund request at all. Instead, they told me a fraud protection setting wasn't enabled in my account and pointed me to their documentation. No refund, no credit, no acknowledgment that charging fees on confirmed fraud where the cards were never used isn't reasonable. If you're a merchant considering this app, understand that: - The 2.5% volume fee applies to every gift card sold, including fraudulent ones. - Their fraud protection is opt-in and not enabled by default. - If fraud slips through, you'll pay fees on top of your chargeback losses with no recourse.

Unfortunately, we have to change our rating for the app. Everything worked as desired for quite some time. But suddenly, no more vouchers were arriving by email, neither for the recipient nor the sender. We contacted support about this, but unfortunately the help we received was very disappointing. The whole thing dragged on for a whole week and we quickly realized that we weren't going to get any help here. Since lots of vouchers are always bought at Christmas, we quickly decided to switch apps. All the best for the future! From Germany

Unfortunately, have struggled with Gift Card Pro. Customer service doesnt' respond. The system does not integrate well with Shopify so balances aren't recorded correclty making accounting very difficult. Sales datas are not accurate. Overall, do not recommend this app

Obviously, Shopify's gift card experience is lacking. We tried another gift card service and oddly they charged us .25 per order on ANY order. Not just gift cards. Seemed a little greedy. This pricing is extremely fair and I love the UX. It took me no more than 5 minutes to set up! Gist has such a great selection of apps. Our store is literally running on Gist right now! Their customer service and support is top notch. They go above and beyond.

This app has been so helpful on our site! We didn't offer online gift cards for a while because the built-in Shopify product just didn't make sense for customers. The app installed easily right out of the gate and provides a great gift card experience to our customers! Also, customer service has been great (thanks Tim)! We needed some customizations done, and Tim did them same day. He also made some suggestions on how to improve the flow, which I really appreciated! The features that this app provides us should be provided by Shopify. I'm very unhappy that Shopify + members have to resort to an app for something so basic. We installed this app to enable customers to purchase and send gift cards to recipient emails, and to schedule when they were delivered. We did not have the ability to do this on our Shopify store. I was under a deadline to get the app working so we could advertise gift cards in an SMS campaign the next day. Tim worked with me to address my issues, even going as far as hopping on a Zoom call to walk me through the configuration questions I had. Out of all the 3rd party apps we have installed on our store, Gift Card Pro definitely has the best customer service. It's so rare that I get a same-day response, let alone within minutes.

What an amazing app! Before, selling Gift Cards was very cumbersome for our customers. They had to purchase the card then email it to the recipient, not very "gifty". With Gift Card Pro our customers can choose the card that fits their occasion and style, pick the amount they feel comfortable with and it sends directly from our store. The best part is the gifter can record a video and really personalize the experience. The team at Gift Card Pro was so helpful in setting things up and making sure the app worked right.
