After investing over two months and significant effort in implementing Inventory Planner by Sage, I strongly advise against this product and the company behind it. Despite paying more than $2,000 for professional implementation services, we were largely abandoned to navigate the process independently. Support responses were excruciatingly slow—often taking a month or more, particularly after we requested contract termination—and entirely absent during holidays or other periods, sometimes for weeks at a time. When we sought release from the contract due to zero progress and a non-functional system after two months, our request was flatly denied. Sage prioritizes enforcing their year-long agreements over accommodating dissatisfied customers, even when they fail to deliver. Business leaders should scrutinize the terms and conditions meticulously: Sage's contract is designed with extensive experience in such disputes, offering no meaningful recourse beyond binding arbitration in their home state. Once committed, you forfeit all leverage if performance falls short. Furthermore, any issues with third-party integrations fall solely on you to resolve with those providers; Sage offers no guidance or assistance, merely expecting notification upon resolution. Ultimately, Sage invests far more in contractual entrapment than in fulfilling the services for which they are compensated—a critical red flag for any enterprise seeking reliable inventory management solutions.

Terrible, terrible experience. Something broke with the connection at the end of September 2025 and it has basically rendered IP useless to us. The data is not syncing and we are not able to use it even though we JUST paid for an entire year ($4k). Customer service is slow to respond and we're now demanding a full refund after 21+ days of "attempting to resolve this with our engineers." Even their parent company, Sage, knows nothing about them. Tried calling Sage and cx was clueless as to who IP was. If you choose to use them, I recommend proceeding with high caution and low expectations.

I had a very bad experience with their customer service. I needed help reinstalling the app and was ready to pay for the monthly subscription, but I was told that my company was too small for their service. They explained that they had changed their “business model” and are now focusing only on much larger companies. I was advised to contact them again once I reach more than 1 million dollars in annual revenue, and only then they would be happy to help. It was really disappointing to have the door shut in my face like that. They should clearly state these conditions on the App Store so smaller businesses don’t waste their time.

Stuck Paying for a Product We Can’t Use We’ve been with Inventory Planner since before Sage acquired them—back when the platform was lean, reliable, and backed by great customer support. After the acquisition, our subscription cost was increased threefold. In early 2025, after renewing our annual subscription, we transitioned to a 3PL that Inventory Planner had no integration with. Despite reaching out promptly to explain the situation and explore solutions, support offered nothing viable. As a result, we could no longer use the software. We requested a refund for the remainder of the contract, but they refused. We’re now stuck having paid for eight months of a product we can’t use. Support acknowledged the issue but hid behind policy instead of making any good-faith effort to help. If your business values fairness, transparency, and customer service, we strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

This is a great inventory planning tool that has replaced the manual Excel sheets we previously used. We have been using inventory planner for just over 2 years and it has been a game-changer for forecasting, getting us away from massive spreadsheets and having to run numerous reports. The forecasting tools are dynamic with built in filters for seasonal variances, and all replenishments can be tweaked on the fly; but its ability to forecast and help plan is great so you rarely need to! Integrating with all of our systems has meant we have everything we need in one place to save time and quickly made decisions. As with other Sage products, the support from help desk and access to additonal training is great.

I've been using IP for about four years now, and it’s been a game-changer compared to our old spreadsheet-based planning. It’s saved us an incredible amount of time while helping me purchase the right inventory at the right moment. This has significantly reduced out-of-stock issues and optimized our cash flow. For the first few years, I didn’t spend much time on configuration—it worked almost perfectly out of the box. Software itself works fine and I used it for a few years. It saved me a lot of time with PO and forecasting stock levels. HOWEVER, since purchasing IP, Sage have increased the annual/semi annual fees dramatically with no signs of stopping. They will corner you in an automatically renewing contract and bleed you dry. Luckily there are a number of solid alternatives out there now. I would avoid at all costs and recommend you do not sign any contracts.

We have used Inventory Planner for years and were big fans of the tool. It has helped us with inventory forecasting in the past. Over the last few months, we have had significant challenges with Inventory Planner API with Shopify, and our data has been intermittently been syncing in Inventory Planner. For example, our last sync was Jan 13, 2025. This syncing issue has repeatedly happened over the last quarter of 2024 into 2025. This has disrupted our analysis and forecast planning. We believe the Inventory Planner is working on a solution on updating their API to Shopify, but its not clear to us when this will be fixed and help our team with. We would love to keep working with Inventory Planner if they can provide a stable API with Shopify.

This app ended up being useless for us, a huge waste of time and money. Be careful what you commit to, make sure you have an out if you can't use it. We couldn't generate accurate forecasts that take into account the seasonality of our product. When set to last sales, which was originally recommended by the IP team, it dramatically over forecasted sales and reorders. The other two methods didn't work either. Forecasting at a category level was overridden in the system. We were unable to plan Net vs Gross sales, return rate, or discount rate Couldn't see critical metrics by week/month to create manual plans such as % to LY, build, discount rate, AUR, AIR. Couldn't group or view by key attributes or export a list of skus and each attribute column. The interface is generally inefficient and difficult to navigate. Simple updates create a lag when attempting to save changes. It's possible it would work for a non seasonal business with products that all have the same attributes, especially if there are a lot of people to manage it. Just make sure you can get out of it if it doesn't work.

I have a love-hate relationship with this app. The basic functions of being able to make and send POs, and see/sync inventories and invoices is great. The forecasting is so-so, and doesn't always display the data you need to see. Integration is also a PITA if you have a complicated store with multiple warehouses, and 3rd party fulfillment...I turned the 3P warehouses off in the settings, why are you still importing their inventory and variants? Customer service is also lacking. You CAN'T call them. There isn't a number. So you're stuck sending chat messages, waiting for a response, then playing chat tag for days. I've also gotten incorrect information, with them not knowing they had some functionality that I found by clicking around, and being misinformed about how some apps integrate. This app does save me time, but if I had the time to find another similar app, I'd jump ship.

Inventory Planner is not robust enough for our needs and has a lot of bugs. Customer support is lacking after the initial training period. Once the initial training period is over the people who were helping resolve the issues just refer you to the standard support option. This app requires a lot of manual work to see the accurate results, and you need to be using the platform for over one year for accurate information as they can't factor stockouts from Shopify or Shiphero. One example of manual work that is needed to see accurate results is reviewing data for seasonal products vs new fasting selling items. We are a clothing brand so our default method is seasonal, but the app doesn't have the ability to use a different method for products that haven't been in our catalog for a full season without a lot of manual overrides.

When first getting to know the platfrom, it does seem like its a lot. But, once you know what you are looking at, all of that information starts coming together. The only issue I have had so far was a variant/product issue where variats were loading as their own product rather than under the same product. I reached out to Customer Service and Jansen was the one who responded. We must have worked on this issue for 6+ months together, along with his engineering team. They did not give up until the issue was resolved. There was always constent communication between Jansen, the engineering team, and myself during the process. If any other issues arrise I will be going to Jansen for assistance. I have been assisted by other customer service representatives before but since Jansen has more in-depth knowledge about our Inventory Planner, that I will contact Jansen for any further issues or questions.

Initially, I cannot recommend it to customers who use ShipHero. Considering its price, the system and implementation have been difficult. A simple matter has been made really complicated. Training costs $5000, where basic things are explained, but for the most part, I have had to dig out the answers myself. Pricing is based on revenue and does not meet expectations. Customer service has been quick on the part of Inventory Planner. It's unfortunate that training is done by a third party and they are unable to answer more challenging questions. I recommend first exploring lighter options such as Fabrikator.

It is with a heavy heart that I am giving Inventory Planner a 1-star review. We have been using Inventory Planner for over 4 years now and in that time we enjoyed all of the great features it had to offer. There is a lot of data to play with, and we finally set it up just the way we wanted. Unfortunately, when our team inquired about negotiating a yearly contract (as opposed to the monthly payments we had set up through Shopify), we were shocked to be hit with a proposal over twice the price of our current subscription. As a loyal customer, this was the last thing we expected. Once we realised we had been caught in a trap, it was too late. We discovered other reviews from customers that had experienced the same thing. If only we had seen these sooner. If you are a new customer, and you are agree to the new pricing model, there shouldn't be any issues. But if you are a current customer and looking to review your pricing, please take note of what happened to us and avoid it at all costs!

I have been using Inventory Planner for more than two years, and I find it to be an incredibly helpful tool. The platform is user-friendly, and there are many online resources available for review, including a YouTube channel. Inventory Planner helps me forecast future demand, monitor inventory KPIs, predict cash flow, and generate various reports. The quality of their online support is exceptional, and Karen is always available to help with any issue. However, as an Australian business, we are unable to receive live support due to the time difference. Overall, I highly recommend this tool as it has helped our business focus on the right areas and move in the right direction.

We've been using Inventory Planner for various years now, and have nothing but good to say about the platform itself. While this is certainly not the cheapest option around, it's made managing 10's of thousands of SKUs much more manageable and has led to us developing very advanced inventory strategies that has brought our brand to the next level. There are endless metrics and numbers in here that you can get lost in, and each term is defined in their Glossary of Terms, which is a life-saver if you're learning and wanting to know how to best utilize the data that the tool generates. We can finally do collection-based reporting thanks to Inventory Planner as well, something that is not available in Shopify's native reporting. Forecasting, building POs, and really any other inventory-related task is all made very easy thanks to this platform. The biggest downside is the price. They received outside investment and the investors are wanting a quick return. They tried to increase our price literally 6x overnight, to which we had to negotiate and got down to 3x our old price, which is still an absurd increase for the same service we'd already been paying for for 2+ years prior. If the tool wasn't so good, we would have dropped Inventory Planner due to that experience. That being said, they are now showing some positive signs and more flexibility in pricing, which is a welcomed change and I still would recommend this tool to all Shopify merchants.

I should have listened to my gut and not moved forward commiting to a 12 month contract. I had issues from the start when I couldn't even log in to play around with the app during the trial period. It took them over 2 weeks just to get things figured out then i was informed that my "trial period" ended and that the only way to get access was to commit to the 12month contract. Then they used a "pressure to close" sales tactic by saying they'd reduce my monthly payment from $379 to $299/month if i commited within 48hrs of the offer. My inventory was a mess and i was desperate and exhausted of the whole process so i signed it.. After a month of service/usage, here are some main issues i have with this app: 1. They do not have a way to synch your incoming inventory on shopify to their system. There's literally a column right next to "stock" called "on order" Wouldn't it make so much sense for this software to have that data available when you're trying to create a cut ticket or PO to your manufacturer? It allows you to upload a .csv file of your incoming inventory/PO but has to be formatted in a very particular way to properly migrate the incoming inventory. As a result, we have to create two seperate PO's - one for shopify and a completely new one for Inventory planner thus doubling our work. I really don't understand how their software can track historical sales, forecasting, inventory counts but it cannot track incoming inventory from our manufacture after we created the PO on shopify. Needless to say, we don't even use this anymore - we upgraded to shopify plus and have better optics on the inventory now. 2. Not very user friendly. The rules and parameters for forecasting are difficult to use/understand. Their help desk is not very responsive to help and when they do provide any feedback/guidance, it is not very helpful. 3. Not worth the price. The only function that is of value to this app is the forecast purchase suggestion. Everything else you can view shopify. I'm hoping there is a workaround for the incoming orders. The fact that we have go through that process twice (shopify and inventory planner). I asked them if there was an easier process and this was their response: "Thank you for reaching out to Inventory Planner. I'm happy to assist you today! For Order Type, you can type, Purchase Order, Transfer Order or Assembly Order. Here is the guide to show you how to Importing stock orders and where to download the template. Furthermore, Shopify does not have transfer 'Purchase Order' available in their API at the moment, so unfortunately it's not possible to sync this information to Inventory Planner. As soon as they add it to their API, we intend to add this functionality to Inventory Planner. In the meantime, you can import POs or recreate them manually in Inventory Planner. Once you receive/close the PO in Inventory Planner you'll have the opportunity to increase stock in your store (optional) based on what was received." I followed their instructions through this link https://help.inventory-planner.com/en/articles/2739630-importing-stock-orders and it's basically a tutorial on how to build a seperate spreadsheet to feed into their system on top of the time consuming process it takes to create a PO in Shopify. I was so hopeful this app would help us manage our inventory more effectively but it's actually just created more problems and extra time for us.

THIS APP DOES NOT DO WHAT IT IS DESIGNED TO DO. The logic this software uses is fundamentally flawed and there doesn't seem to be any fix for this. Once you realize this you will spend days going back and forth with their support chat as they only respond once every 4 hours if your lucky. If your products have a long lead time (in our case 3 months) and you sell out of inventory during this time and are waiting for new stock to arrive this app will add the lost sales quantities into your next replenishment ON TOP of the units you are forecasted to sell for the month. If historically you sell 100 units a month and are out of stock for 3 months their calculated replenishment recommendation will tell you that you need to order 400 units for you next order as if you will magically be able to sell 4x your monthly average. This issue is amplified even further when your sales are growing month over month. At the very least you should be able to disable this functionality, and not add lost sales quantities into the active forecast, but their only solution is to manually edit the forecast for every single item.

The app is very useful. Dated UI but overall functional. Support and billing, however, is a nightmare. If you're a new customer signing onto their new pricing model and the setup is correct from the start, you'll likely enjoy the product. If you have any questions or need assistance with your account, buckle up and get ready to have your patience tested. Repeatedly. For most customers this will be an important pieces of their tech stack. And once integrated for inventory management, the cost and hassle of switching to another tool means customers are a little locked in. In my experience that lock in risk is not offset with good support times or follow through. Fingers crossed that improves.

After our trial phase I wanted to sign up as paying customer and could not log in due to a technical issue being redirected constantly to the "end of trial" phase page. We have been using inventory planner for about 6 months now and I don't see how we can function without. There's a lot of functionality to this program and yes it will take a minute to get a good grasp on it but once you do, you'll be glad you are using it. There is good support documentation with videos and tech support has been great. The onboarding team is great as well. They know the software inside and out. It's extremely powerful. Inventory forecasting and planning is complicated in general so you need a software program that can handle it, and this one does the trick. It's not cheap, we spend $20K a year but it's worth it. Look at it as hiring a data analytics person on the team for 20K. Not only that, it will help you manage your inventory purchases, so you're not over or under ordering stock. We have 13 retail locations and we use it extensively for generating stock transfers to our stores from our warehouse. No more guessing on how much inventory to send to a store. There is also a nice feature that will automatically generate stock transfers and purchases orders on a schedule you configure. I have it set to place them in draft mode and run weekly. Then I can approve or make edits to them before sending it to the warehouse to fill. This has saved us countless hours. The support has been great too. There has been several times I need a certain functionality and they were able to accommodate it, not in every case but 90% of the time. Just like any software, it's not 100% when forecasting, sometimes you need to use your judgement. The more data it collects over time, the smarter it gets. The software is not for everyone but if you have multiple retail locations / warehouses or just need a better way to manage your inventory purchases so you aren't over stocking, then I would recommend checking this one out. It's a great way to help streamline your operations. If they had inventory management or WMS tied into this, this would make it even more powerful.

Held hostage on a 12 month contract with Brightpearl on this Inventory Planner app, was paying about $300/month and they jacked it up over $600/month and required us to sign a 12 month contract. All this during our busiest time of year here in Q4, and threatened to shut down our account if we didn't renew even with asking to push the renewal to January 2023. Software isn't bad, but the service and sales tactics are the worst I have ever expierenced with a software company. Be warned and Brightpearl/Sage, really disappointed in the way you treated us on this and gave us no other option. -Ian, Co-Founder & CEO To Further my response in response to your response Tom, you are actually making it worse by responding the way you have. There was no "free access through December" we have still been paying monthly at our more reasonable rate of $300/month, and you told us about our price increase right at the Q4 window, and still to this date havent given us a great answer into your complicated formula as to how you increased our price the way you did. We were told if we didn't sign a new contract in December that you would revoke our access to the software, so please don't try to and manipulate the way this all happened. Hand's down one of the worst experiences we have had with software, and your response is making it worse. My recommendation, just be honest and authentic with something like, "Sage bought BrightPearl, BrightPearl bought IP, and someone made a poor business decision to hold businesses hostage in their busiest time of year since they would have no other option, happy holidays"

Since they've got acquired by Sage, Support is non-existent! I was always a big supporter of the app, used it for more than 4 years. No I don't get any reply to any support tickets, chat tickets etc. Automatic subscription is also not possible anymore, now you need to schedule sales calls with them. Avoid.

I love this app. I can't even imagine how I would have grown my 3 location business without it. My only complaint is that the fee went up a bit but I cannot complain when I've doubled my sales and cut my inventory management workload down to a few hours per week vs a few hours per day. And in recent, it became so expensive that it put the app out of the question for us. I hope in the future you can drop your prices by increasing the app users and maybe charge for any extra support?

First, the support is great. Which is good, because at first glance the app appears complicated. But, it's really a swiss-army knife of inventory management, so you can get into the weeds if you want, or, as we do, just do basic management and forecasting, together with PO creation. We originally had it tied into Shopify, but since we just outsourced to a 3PL, it's tied in there now, which makes it even more useful, since the inventory levels are far more accurate :-)

Total game changer!!! We have lots of products that take 40 days to get, and we were always running out, ordering too late or too much. Inventory Planner sees the "sales velocity" of each product and alerts us to when and how many we need to order. Totally takes away the stress and anxiety of the ordering/forecasting. Theres also a great dashboard that shows you a graphic of your current inventory at its retail and cost price. So the $20k credit card bill isn't so scary when you easily see that you have $50k MSRP product to sell.. You can view all the data in a very simple form or really nerd out. I rarely right reviews, but this one needed to be shared!! I honestly just had to look back at the price.. I thought it was $150, but now see its $99 per month. Saves us from over ordering thousands per month so it's a total "no brainer" and you will forget what it costs. Cheers to success!!

I used this app to help with controlling stock levels in real time but once stock had been updated through IP the total would not decrease until I manually uploaded the accurate numbers . When I asked about the problem I was told to contact Shopify and play email tag . If you are looking for this to actually track anything look at another app first.

I personally do not use the open to buy plan but my open to buy specialist uses all of the numbers from IP to formulate our plan. She is equally impressed. This app turned calculating how much to order from hours to literally 10min. Uploaded 2 years of sales data in 5 minutes. Easy import and export of data. Great integration with Shopify to grab product data and update received inventory. Then it drops the PO into QBO to make reconciling and paying the invoice a breeeeze. We had a number of use cases that required tweeks to the app and they were always open to ideas and delivered tweeks quickly. We purchase about 1300 unique items that are sold in about 3000 variants from nearly 100 vendors. Great value and looking forward to future options to order by the case and set case pricing! Thank you everyone at inventory planner. Been using this app for a year now......once you understand how it works the interface is so informative.....so not only does it recommend wha t you should buy to can see and adjust all the information and forecast settings impacting that recommendation. Inventory Planner has been one of the best apps to ever happen to our store on Shopify. It provides replenishment recommendations/forecasting for your products based on past sales. After the initial setup, thinking about "is this going to be enough inventory to last us the rest of the month" is no longer an issue. Using data-driven recommendations, IP can tell you how much you need of a product and when you need to replenish that specific product so you don't run out. This is especially important if you are placing a purchase order for a product, and need to place another purchase order for the same product before the first purchase order even arrives. The number of different settings they have is far advanced for ANY Shopify app you will find in terms of inventory management. This being said, Inventory Planner is not an IMS system by itself. You can use Shopify has your single source of truth for inventory, or other applications. However, when you allow Inventory Planner to manage the data from your IMS system, your life will change. It does all of the thinking for you. The main things you need to feed it, besides current stock and sales data, are how long the lead time is for certain products and how many days of stock you want to have on hand for a certain product. After that, VIOLA, no more stockouts! Another feature of inventory planner that our store loves is the ability to set up assemblies. If you have certain parts that are in multiple different products that you sell, Inventory Planner can track that part and tell you how much you need to order based on all of the higher-level assembly products that part is in. Jill, Stuart, Bassel, Oleg, and the rest of their team do a phenomenal job both in customer service and in application value (something that is rare to find)! When is the last time you got to chat/email/video call a customer service representative who actually wrote the detailed knowledge base article you had a question about. Not to mention the fact that they are responding to you sometimes in less than an hour! With all of this being said, if you are having inventory management problems, I highly recommend this application! You will be far impressed from your original expectations.

If there's any doubt in your mind whether this is the right solution for you, just go ahead and run the trial and your doubts will surely be alleviated. This is an incredibly well-designed piece of software (and I say that as a seasoned software developer myself). As well as its core features being extremely slick, each time I use it, I find more and more handy little power-user features that I didn't spot previously. We've gone from manually searching our inventory for stock to order (and making assumptions about what sells well), writing this all down into an email whilst also cross-referencing vendor references from price lists, sending 'PO' emails and remembering to check back each day for updates and then finally receiving the order and painstakingly updating inventory quantities into Shopify. We now just navigate to Inventory Planner, click the Replenishment tab, select the products that are forecast to go out of stock and hit 'Create PO'. We then email this to the vendor using the handy Email function and all the vendor references that we've previously entered and automatically added to each line item in the PO. Once the stock arrives, we check the stock received against the system and then hit 'Receive All', which in turn then automatically updates Shopify with all the incoming stock amounts. That's it. The whole process has gone from an entire evening of creating a PO and then another entire evening of updating stock, to a process that takes us no more than 10 minutes for each part. I can't even begin to explain how much stress this has alleviated from what was previously a very laborious task (and sometimes error-prone!) Even with its base functionality, it's invaluable, but for e.g, we found the other day that we could also automatically print barcodes for all the received stock. This is a process that would have taken us at least 1-2 hours as our previous system involved exporting product data, making data changes in Excel and then finally uploading to a specialist barcode printing app to make the final prints (which was laborious even in itself). Now, all we do is receive the items into stock and then hit 'Print Labels', which in turn prints a single label for every item we've just received. Better yet, we've been able to convert our existing label design onto Inventory Planner easily as it allows for infinite customizability due to the ability to use custom HTML/CSS (if desired). Support has been amazing. There's been a few occasions where we felt that perhaps something could be done slightly better, or a tweak made to improve the user experience and they've handled these requests perfectly, each time taking the feedback on board and in all situations have returned to me with a workable solution in record time. I've honestly been very impressed at how much they actually care about the customer experience and their ability to implement improvements so quickly. I could go on for far too long about how much time and stress this software has saved us. Needless to say, we're a customer for life!

I use this APP to combine our sales and inventory from a few different platforms, I did like the replenishment and forecast feature as it made replenishment and forecast so much easier and saved lots time for us. It's a pricey app depending on where you're at in your growth and revenue size, but worth every penny when it comes to being able to predict inventory needs. It also may feel like an overwhelming app to learn - but again it's worth the investment of your time because of how powerful it is. The best part hands down has been the support. I've had a million questions as I've used the app - and every single time I've gotten the most helpful responses and even quick changes on the backend to make the app work exactly the way I need for my brand. Iv tried quite a few of the inventory apps on this app store and I must say that Inventory Planner, is by far the best app and the support is awesome! They answer quickly no matter what time I ask. It takes some time to understand the system but its worth the effort. Once you get the hang of it, it's a valuable resource to get insights on your stock. So far we have been very happy with Inventory Planner (IP). The functionality is great, and it has a lot of features that we are really looking forward to using. However the best thing about Inventory Planner is the incredible responsiveness of their customer support. Jill, Nick and the rest are spectacular! They routinely go above and beyond what one would expect from customer support. They are very to tweak things till you get what you need. There is one minor downside if you have tens of thousands of products: product sync between Shopify and IP is slow. We have 50K products, and it takes about eight hours for a new product in Shopify to appear in IP. EDIT: And they fixed that problem!

A very clever app that has clearly been put together with a lot of thought by some smart people. I haven't been using it long, so I have a feeling 'full-blown wow' will happen in future, but I keep finding things that make sense, and make my life a lot easier. I love the way when I place an order, it tells me how much I still have to order before I get to that supplier's minimum order, for example. Apart from the very clever forecasting (takes into account out of stock days when looking at sales performance - yay), it's this clever touches that save time and make working a bit more of a pleasure.

We have used this app for almost three years. At first, it was a pain because there were long wait times for a response and things were constantly changing. But those changes have been made for ease of use and understanding! Now we can not get enough of IP. My favorite feature is the robust reporting tool and the ability to see snapshots of inventory at any given point. Highly recommend!

This app has taken my inventory management to a whole new level. What used to be many spreadsheets, complicated hours and hours of work. And a process that could not be delegated easily. Inventory planner has streamlined, simplified, and allowed me to confidently delegate. I have multiple warehouses, and FBA. This app has become a game changer with placing reorders for products. Helping us forecast sales, looking at COGS/gross profit/and sales in general. The PO functionality is amazing, being able to make PO's for vendors and get products on order with ease. So much it can do and I am sure we only use it for 10% of it's actual capabilities but we are always learning new things with it.

This app is amazing. Within minutes I had so much data at my finger tips that I only wish I would have added the app sooner! We learned about Inventory Planner when searching for a complex inventory management tool (Trade Gecko, Stitch labs, etc). Even though it can be used IN ADDITION TO those apps, we decided to use Inventory Planner stand-alone with the Bundles App in Shopify. This combination allows us to gain valuable insight about our sell-through and not have too much "extra" software lingering around. The development team for Inventory Planner is actively listening to its users and constantly making improvements that make it one of the best tools we use in our arsenal of apps to regulate and forecast our sales. If you're on the fence, take our word for it and commit to using this app. Of all our apps, this is one we could hardly live without!

The information is never accurate - it warns us we are overstocked on items we know we can't keep in stock. It says we are out of items that shopify says we are not - it just seems kind of buggy and expensive for how much customisation you need to do to get it started. We're switching to doing this in a free excel sheet that we can control.

Placing POs used to be one of the more painful parts of running my business. I'd use spreadsheets and sales data to estimate future sales. Since using Inventory Planner, ordering inventory has become SO much easier. I spend a tenth of the time that I used to and my inventory has become much more efficient because inventory planner is better at predicting sales than my spreadsheets. Highly highly recommended

One suggestion: I would LOVE if I could export our inventory in a clean layout to share with wholesale customers once a week. All the catalog-making apps don't include inventory. All the inventory apps don't look good enough for sales materials. I think you guys can create a simple easy solution.

Hi to anyone looking for the best inventory app available for Shopify. I have a very ''strangely'' configured B2B store, for really specific needs. I have tried all other inventory apps, and nothing was even close to what I was looking for. -Easy to access and precise Inventory Data, any data and graph for products, collections, brands, vendors, for any period of time, and also easy to use ''compare-to-date''. -Easy to access and precise Forecasting for products, but also collection of products I am probably their worst customer because my store is soooo tweaked-up, I had to request over 20 special configurations/modifications, sometimes major ones, but they've always responded quickly, very effectively, and so professionally. Many thanks to this incredible team !

Inventory Planner (IP) is the perfect blend of simple, yet useful data for managing your inventory. I'm able to add my lead time and days of stock I want on hand and then have IP send me notifications when I should purchase inventory. Oh ya, and you can create a PO straight from IP, email it to your vendor, and see "on order" quantities pop up instantly within IP. On top of the platform itself, the customer support has been awesome. Shout out to Oleg in particular for answering any and all questions I've had so far. Bottom line: if you're trying to manage your inventory manually or with some complex service, you're waisting your time. Highly recommend you try Inventory Planner.

I've been using Inventory Planner for a month now and it's truly an amazing solution to filling a key part of the ecommerce jigsaw. There's nothing quite like it in the competitive marketplace. As a read-only inventory management platform, it slots straight in to my existing workflow without the need for the huge reshuffle required of moving to DEAR/Unleashed/TradeGecko/Stitch/Brightpearl. It blows any of the cheaper inventory stocktake / COGS apps currently available on the Shopify app store right out of the water. I've just spent months battling with accounting and inventory management issues as a result of my own store's growing pains. Trying to do atomic inventory in QBO? Forget it. All the Shopify<->QBO communication apps? A crapshoot. Non stop problems, gotchas, walking on eggshells. And then along comes Inventory Planner - the right tool for the job. Without the anal accounting restrictions of a double entry accounting package, it handles pre-orders and difficult order-fulfillment-invoice patterns without breaking a sweat. Bundles and virtual kits? No problamo, it now even distributes virtual profit based on the relative prices of component SKUs. SKUs as unique identifiers? And Variant IDs as well? No drama. Multi currency? Separate vendor costs and landed costs? Too easy. Where every other solution I evaluated had show stopping problems, Inventory Planner's more "free form" approach gave me exactly what I needed: * Profit sliced by date, category, vendor * Periodic stocktake and COGS, complete with granular XLS export of the figures * Beautiful monthly graphs of revenue, profit, sales, inventory count and value * Intelligent re-ordering advice, complete with per-variant control over unexpected or irregular sales events, and days when I was sold out * Context relevant bundle/virtual kit analysis * Pre-orders no problem * Fair pricing On top of that, the developers have been lightning fast to fix any bugs and implement suggestions. Inventory Planner does a great job of helping me to plan orders for inventory replenishment. Simple and effective in helping me avoid wasted spending on unnecessary inventory while ensure adequate stock for items that sell well, based on my own shop's analytics. UPDATE 5/17/2017: It's hard to express just how amazing the customer support behind this app really is. At this point, we have completely replaced Stitch Labs for inventory management with Inventory Planner, which has simplified our workflow without compromising any of the features we need to manage our inventory start to finish. Amazing app by an amazing team. Highly recommended!

Been using it for over a year, we manage thousands of items for sale, and more than 50 suppliers, Inventory Planner has taken away the "drama" and time expense to place new orders, they also have analytics on what you have on overstock so you can promote and it even integrates with google analytics to check how many times has been viewed. It is just great! And to close this, I just ask theme to have bigger pictures of the products on the Purchase orders so the suppliers can read and see the products to avoid mistakes and they did it in 15 minutes, that was not even an option and they just implemented in less than 15 minutes. Its worth every penny!

Prior to IP - we used a bunch of different reports and downloaded data manually into excel sheets. Then wrote our own formulas to forecast for ordering. This app has saved us a ton of time

Love this app! A very cost-effective way to track your inventory correctly. This system forecasts sales based on prior sales and seasonality! It gives you a recommendation on replenishment which is huge for our company because we manufacture our products. This means I know precisely how many products to make and balance under and overstock properly for a much improved cash flow and inventory turnover ratio! The app works great. Before using it I was just building bases on our average sales for the previous month. Now it's really easy to just look at the report and build the right amount. Since we manufacture it helps to manage our bulk inventory better. So that's the one thing that's missing for us. We need a way to manage the bulk ingredients. I've been manually consolidating excel reports from Shopify for the past year and having all of the information available in one app is extremely convenient to see trends/stock levels. The app offers compatibility with Google Analytics as well, so there's multiple levels of data incorporated to forecast replenishment info. We found this app when looking for an app that could 1) Help forecast sales on products that frequently are stocked out, and 2) Make purchasing easier. I'll admit, this app was overwhelming at first - it has a ton of features but some require explanation. But Oleg offered to do a demo of the software, and this helped immensely. We had a couple of feature requests that came up during the demo, and they implemented these in the same day - nice! After spending some time with Inventory Planner, I can say this is an amazing app. Not only will it save us time, but it will help us keep the correct amounts of inventory to both increase sales, and reduce wasted inventory. This is the most expensive app we have, but we are now hooked!

Inventory Planner app makes life super simple when it comes to bulk ordering. It takes into account all the sales data and forecasts and estimates the number of units we should order factoring in lead time and the review period - making ordering a bit more accurate than trying to sit and think about it! The customer service support is unreal - I explained the situation, what I needed done, and it was done within minutes. Fast response times is always a plus! Consider me an evangelist for Inventory Planner. This is honestly the best program out of any our company uses. Hands down, no contest. They are THE BEST. The services provided by Inventory Planner replace what would otherwise take at least a full-time person (on a very small team) to do not even half as well. Our inventory control is on point. We now carry half of the inventory on hand compared to what we had 9 months ago because we can see what we will really need and focus on those SKUs rather than being overstocked in variants and products that won't move as well. Not only that, but the Inventory Planner team is so quick to make improvements (ranging from 10 minutes to a max of 2 days from suggestion to implementation) that they put all other companies to shame. I've suggested at least a dozen tweaks to them including some that were just 'wish list' items. They've implemented all of them and done so most times the same day. Do yourself a favor and install this app.

Inventory Planner has been the most awesome app on Shopify ever! Having more than 2000 variants can be a pain killer. We struggled with excel files and we suffered every day! I wanted "alarms" for low inventory. This app gives you that, plus very comprehensive inventory statistics (complex analysis indeed) to let you know exactly how much to replenish per product, and best of all, how much to charge for a product to maximise revenue!!! Totally unexpected but after reading a lot (and not getting the formulas at all) turns out Amazon, Walmart, and every huge retailer uses these rules. Impressive. You just capture costs and it will give you the best prospect for maximised revenue. Also tells how much are you understocked in some products (and which, and why, and when) as well as hoe much overstocked you are in others. Very impressive. Pays for itself.
