So far i really like MIDA bot app. Customer support has been good, the app is super easy to use, with a step by step inital setup. There are plenty of features in this app - I'll focus on the ones I'm using, but worth noting you can also manage access by IP address, regions within a country, ISP, referrer, customer name... Setup was very straightforward, just add a block to you site - the setup process takes you through it. I've set up two sections to address specific problems I was having: Suspicious Bot access and Country access. In my case over 99% of the suspicious bots traffic was from one country - that we don't actually sell into - so I went belt-and-braces and blocked the entire country as well as setting up the Bots configuration. Both were easy to do. For the country blocking you just add a new rule and that's it. For the Bot detection & blocking you can choose which search engine / genuine bots to allow and some other auto-blocking settings that make sense. Really easy to do, and something that I had always assumed that native Shopify would be taking care of this - until I spent some time analysing my search console data and realised that Shopify absolutely doesn't handle this natively! MIDA Fraud IP Blocker fills a great big hole in Shopify's security settings and does it very straightforwardly - you absolutely don't need to be a security expert, or even understand what it's doing, to get it working for you, it's easy to do. Support (Vanessa) has been super helpful and couldn't do enough to help with anything I needed. Great app, recommended.

Liking the app. We had an immediate issue with someone testing credit card numbers and addresses in our checkout (not actually charging) which fell outside the protection of SHOPIFY and Payment Processors, but MIDA provided an umbrella for the whole site that allowed us to limit BOTs, block IP's turn off counties, etc. that just made it harder for them to work, and made us site "undesirable" for the attacks... It was costing us money in shipping calculations and other "usage" fees, so it really helped out!!!

Shopify filtre déjà ce trafic de son côté, du coup l'app fait un peu doublon. Outil honnête et propre, mais à ne pas confondre avec un vrai pare-feu anti-bot. Je réévaluerai après quelques semaines de recul.

Full featured and easy to setup, and live chat support was very helpful answering the questions I had after installing it. So far I'm just using the ISP block to block a few problematic ISPs that allow scrapers and other bad actors and it has been very effective. I like the ability to blacklist (or whitelist) by country, region, ISP, IP, VPN/Proxy/Tor, user agent / device, and to apply the blocks to either the entire set or to just specific pages or collections. Incredible. This app is just what I needed. You can block visitors by country (and it actually blocks them), and block bots (except those you want like Google bots), you can block visitors whose IP is suss and it gives you a score for the IP so you know whether it is trustworthy. This app worked perfectly to stop a bot attack / scraping traffic. My traffic went crazy from a couple new countries and wrecked my data, destroyed my conv rate, and even slowed sales due to skewed data and metrics. Traffic turned out to be thousands of bots routed thru a SG data center, scraping my website for my data, products, and whatever else. I like that this was built for Shopify. After chatting with Erik, I was easily able to set up the exact rule I needed. I also really like the Bot protection that they are currently working on. I have already noticed a difference in the amount of fake accounts being created on our page. Update to add: I am still seeing quite a few on my visitor page that are being allowed in, even after creating rules and blacklisting them.

Switched to MIDA from another blocker app and it's a huge upgrade. The bot detection is exactly what we needed - it whitelists verified search engine crawlers like Googlebot while still blocking suspicious traffic. I would give them zero stars if I could. After trying to set it up which took a while, it ended up denying access to even my current clients. All was set up with their team, and we were assured that all is done correctly on our site.
