To all Shopify merchants, please be extremely cautious before installing the ReferralCandy app. Make sure you review every detail carefully so you fully understand how their service works. Once the ReferralCandy app is installed, they automatically consider your account enrolled and will charge you USD $29—even if you never used any of their services. Even after uninstalling the app from your Shopify store, they do not treat the uninstall as a cancellation of service. They continue to charge your account without verifying whether you are satisfied with their service or whether you used it at all. The charge appears suddenly through Shopify, and they refuse to issue refunds. To make things worse, Shopify does not get involved in fund‑related issues when the charge comes from an app provider. If the app provider refuses to refund you, there is nowhere to seek help or resolution. This creates an extremely unfair and stressful experience for small merchants like us, and it has been deeply disappointing.

Great support, very helpful with any issues we have experienced. The tool is pretty good at identifying potentially fraudulent activity and flagging it for disapproval. It seems to disapprove self-referrals quite well, but there are still a few that sneak through. I just wish there were also a way to place a hold on the referred friend reward if the sale is identified as a potentially fraudulent self-referral.

WARNING: Absolute SCAM! Do Not Trust This App! We installed this app on our international store as a trial, but when we tried to cancel over a year ago, the process was a nightmare. Not only did they make it incredibly difficult to even contact customer support (we had to reinstall the app just to reach them!), but they also continued to bill us for an entire year without our usage even after we requested cancellation and that was over a year ago. After expressing our frustration, they further retaliated by suspending our account to prevent us from posting any negative reviews. This is, without a doubt, the worst customer service experience and the most deceitful Shopify app we have ever dealt with. Stay away if you value your time and money!

I had initially written a 5 star review after being asked to many times by the (bordering on obsequious) customer support team. Setup was fine, if rather time consuming. Once in the testing phase, I noticed a couple of bugs - social media links didn't work on what they call the 'Share Page' and on mobile view , a horizontal scroll bar was visible on the front end - a sign that an element on the page was overflowing (a sign of poor web dev). It's now been three weeks since raising the issues with support. Neither have been resolved and I was in fact told that to sort the mobile responsiveness issue, I should hire a web developer - TO FIX THEIR OWN POOR WEB DEVELOPMENT! This left me pretty flabbergasted, to say the least. I'm not a perfectionist, but we do have high standards and sloppy design like horizontal scroll on mobile and broken social links I'm afraid, fall way short.

I saw a lot of articles on ecommerce blogs recommending Referral Candy and decided to give it a try. So far I like how easy it is to create a referral campaign: I chose my referral rewards, added some images to the email and pages, customized some text, activated the post purchase widget and launched it. The only thing I'd add to this is that I wish they had even more multi-language support, it would be better if they could add it. I like the fact that it's now working pretty much by itself and my customers are being invited to join the program through email and popup. It's nice that it also integrates with other apps I already have installed on my store. I'm also thinking about maybe selling some of my products on subscriptions in the future so it's good to know that it integrates with many of the subscription apps on Shopify, as I haven't decided which one I'm going to be using yet. The customer support team was also super helpful as I had a couple of questions while I was setting up the account, and they got back to me super quickly and was able to solve my doubts.

Be very careful working with these guys. The software didn’t work for our trial period. Without asking, they billed a year in advance, even before it worked. We are now 6 weeks in, trying to get it to work for us. Customer service is also poor! We are still trying to get the money back and still trying to make it work, to then decide if it is good or not ! You have been warned! Andy Rigg Owner Rigged and Ready Thank you for replying. My review doesn't change. People should be aware. 1. The app didn't work immediately and we had to develop a fix, which took us past the trail period, but not as our fault... Your fault! 2. The trial period ended and you automatically charged is for 1 year in advance with no notice. We are a very small company, so $560 dollars advance for something that didn't work is quite upsetting. 3. Yes you promised to repay us, however until I see it in our account, which it isn't, I remain sceptical We hope Referral Candy does actually work for us. Up to now we have not gone live, because of the fix we had to make is taking time. Also, more examples of how other brands use the app would also have been beneficial, as would faster response in paying back money you took without notice. Finally, I suggest monitoring your social media. If people contact you, it would be good to reply within 1 day. Im now on day 3 with no reply, which is why I resorted to Shopify reviews to get some feedback. Hope it gets better and works for us. The idea is right as long as the idea actually works and is cost affective. Andy Rigg

The App is very interesting, and it works well, it tracks the events well. Against this, I would say that I would like the emails that it offers you to be translated directly so as not to have to spend so much time on it. The customer service is great, fast and responsive. They are very attentive and really look for a solution that suits your problem. Special mention for JON, he was very kind, attentive and very very good at his job. If I were his boss, I'd say he's a guy to watch out for.

When I asked if they could only handle $ when I wanted a discount in Japanese yen, they responded politely even in my poor English and were able to resolve the issue pleasantly. This is the first time I write a review - Incredible bad customer support, UI not clear. Fo three days I was chatting with customer support without any clear guidance how to send me mails out. The only thing they could say was "Let me ask our engineers" I gave up. And for canceling my subscription I needed to contact support. I am since 2019 using Shopify apps never encountered such a bad experience. My colleague with even more experience has the same opinion. UPDATE: I will wait until you contact me or resolve the problem
