Refersion is overpriced, outdated, and completely inflexible. The software delivers almost nothing for what they charge, and once you’re in, they make it as difficult and expensive as possible to leave. Even long-term customers are treated like ATMs to be milked, not partners to be supported. The platform underperforms, the contracts are predatory, and the company hides behind rigid policies instead of doing what’s fair or reasonable. There are countless better alternatives that don’t lock you into absurd fees for minimal value. If you’re considering Refersion, don’t. Save yourself the headache.

So you get 50 conversions per month for $119 (about $2.40 per conversion). Oh, you can upgrade to a whole 200 conversions per month. And it doesn't matter what your price point is - sell a $5 product or a $500 product. That's unscalable. A real business has affiliates that are doing 50 conversions per day. Much less per month. You want to give unlimited affiliates but say "up to 50 conversions per month" - ok, so if I have 120 affiliates we're assuming less than one conversion per month? Now what kind of sense does that make?

This is a rudimentary software that does an ok job and we've been running it for years. However it has lots of bugs that have been there for literally more than 5 years and they do not fix them or listen to feedback. The app is poorly designed and has innumerable annoying nonsensical features, like notifications and popups that you cant get rid of after dismissing them literally 100 times. When you go to your dashboard log in it takes you to a log out page and asks you to create a new account. When you go to an affiliate it takes you to an error page using 1990s terminology "uh oh goose egg!". Every time I go on here it is an exercise in irritation and frustration. Dont bother giving them suggestions they never listen.

This app is expensive, not intuitive, it is time consuming to setup and also to approve all of the conversions. It does provide a W-9 form for the Affiliates, so you will need to manually monitor that and the forms of payment are limited. If you need help from anyone... good luck. They do not help you at all outside of sending you links to figure out the problem yourself. I will say though that Janice from Customer Service was very kind and even though she could not help me as much as she wanted to, she was the most helpful person I have ever worked with at Refersion. Janice is most likely the best employee in that company.

They sign you on to a one year agreement that automatically renews, and will charge you for the rest of the year if you don't want to continue using their platform. I regret using this software. Refersion does a great job of marketing their tools, but after using it for almost a year, very little rate of return. Had to sign a one-year contract to use the software. Very expensive. Now after doing more research, found many other affiliate software apps that are much more affordable, and provide much better returns. Now still having to pay over $300 per month to finish out the contract. Company has no exit policy. Be very conscious before signing up with Refersion. Customer service is poor.

I manage the affiliate program of Earth Breeze. My point of contact is Sean W. for troubleshooting orders for tracking purposes. Recently, I found out that for months no sales are coming in so I emailed Refersion. Sean was very timely to response and making sure my questions are answered in details. Eve n questions that I am about to throw to him, he has already answered in advance like what is gonna happen for orders that were not tracked etc. There was one time that he did not replied because he was on work leave but another colleague of him, helped along the way. Support has been really helpful, in particular, Sean has been quick to help us optimize our system and get us set up on the open marketplace. I do not recommend this app. There is no delete/edit button for you if you’ve typed an error into a conversion/commission amount. If you make a mistake, You have to email Support for them to delete it for you. ♀️ Then to top it off, they don’t respond right away, you have to wait at least a week for the issue to be fixed. I don’t understand why they don’t just add an “edit” or “delete” button. Instead of having the affiliates wait for their payment while they take their sweet time to get to it. I NEVER ever complain or leave bad reviews! This is my first time writing one like this.. This means it has taken A LOT for me to get to this point. I will be finding a new app if they can’t get it together especially since this app isn’t cheap... I’m paying for their “best” package.

We needed an affiliate marketing app that could work for our use case as well, which is for our own internal employees being our brand ambassadors. We needed a program that is easy to setup affiliates even though they are not "affiliates" and be able to auto approve them without a confirmation email. This program does that and allows a flexible commission program to be setup. Only things I wish it has was scheduling recurring reports to run at a specified time. Currently they trigger at UTC midnight. I would like it if we could specify when the reports run. Also wish there was a "managers" login to view all the reports for the activity. Giving people full access to the app and all the settings is not ideal for affiliate managers. All in all, highly recommend. Hopeful for these enhancements to be added.

We use this app at https://thedrug.store/ and it has so far proved useful- however, the marketplace is a bit rubbish if you are a new site or brand. To use Refersion, they give themselves permissions within your Shopify store that allows people to do this. I’ve been using this for a few months and I’m very underwhelmed by the results. Encountered an issue with the referral code not being generated. The support said it was a bug from a few days prior which they had since fixed, but clearly their "fix" didn’t generate the code and the problem was still there. I think it’s fair to say they should have notified me of this major bug when I inquired about this exact feature just two days prior. A big issue is that the app is not responsive or mobile-friendly at all and since all our influencers are on mobile, it doesn’t look good. I invested quite a lot of time in the setting up & getting familiar with this complicated app, and at a rate of 89$ a month, this has been a huge waste of resources. I’m done. Will be waiting for a better app to come along.

What's the point of having an affiliate program if you can't communicate effectively with them? What Refersion doesn't tell you is that your affiliates CANNOT read the messages you send to them from their mobile device. So we sent an announcement to 200 affiliates and then went about our business. Two days later our Customer Support inbox is flooded with messages from our affiliates saying they NEVER got the message. Why? Because 100% of them accessed their dashboard from their phone. When I reached out to support I received this response... "As of currently Refersion hasn't yet been optimized for mobile..." So there you have it. If i'm managing an affiliate program, I would NEVER use Refersion, until it works across all platforms. An app that doesn't work on mobile? Dumb.

Refersion is a great asset to my marketing plan. Definitely the most user friendly affiliate app I've tried. Customer service is great, Olivier has been super helpful in testing to be sure I have everything set up correctly. Three downsides I've noticed so far: 1) There's no obvious feature to market to affiliates through the Refersion network. A number of other affiliate program apps offer this service. 2) There's not a great way to vet affiliates before approval...thinking of this kind of like a job interview, but it's very one sided- the affiliates can see what the company is offering them, but companies should be able to assess affiliate performance by some metric measured by Refersion and provided with the affiliate's profile. 3) The price! It's steep! Only time will tell if it's worth it.

I needed help with an affiliate program ASAP. My previous one completely failed to integrate properly and after 3 weeks of painful back and forth with the prior app's support team, I finally threw my hands up and was thankfully recommended Refersion by a friend. My immediate impression was: WOW. This team is SO knowledgable, SO responsive, SO impressive. I cannot tell you enough good things about Olivier, specifically. His attention to detail, willingness to figure-it-out (no matter what "it" is) and to give me detailed explanations of each thing was impeccable. I am not super tech-savvy and he was patient with each of my repetitive questions, he explained things slowly and made sure I understood and most of all was generally enjoyable to speak with. Thank you Olivier! And also thank you to Shakima who stepped in when Olivier wasn't available. She was able to catch up on our extensive integration challenges, advise accordingly, and help make this transition as smooth as possible. The team worked endlessly to provide me a result that worked with our third-party checkout app, CartHook, and our Shopify store. Thank you Refersion!

This app is really great for tracking affiliates! It makes things so simple and organized, and we love being able to connect it to our Shopify store. Paying affiliates through this platform is seamless and simple. Setting everything up initially can be a little challenging, but the tutorial videos help a lot. When we couldn't figure out a few things on our own, Emma from customer service stepped in! She was able to walk us through setting up discount links and made sure everything was running smoothly which was much appreciated. Overall, I would definitely recommend this app to users who are seeking an affiliate management system!

Emma the help person is amazing and support in general is fantastic. My main goal was to acquire new affiliates and I believe this is where Refersion could make better use of the market place. There appears to be no way of contacting any affiliates until they have joined your program. Your program will be listed in the market place but becomes buried very quickly after launch. The data reporting is very good btw... so our only criticism is the market place

This app has made managing and recruiting affiliates a breeze. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is it doesn't allow for multi-level payouts which would be a nice feature. However, this is a minor concern of mine and I choose it over others for it's amazing customer support. I scheduled a one on one screen share with Emma during the setup and was extremely pleased with her level of dedication to customer satisfaction.

Pretty disappointing - very expensive app. The value of an affiliate app is initially in its market place, which attracted only a handful of poor quality affiliates. The support team take days to get back to you with questions, and the system itself took a long time to set up. You can only have one offer on the market place at a time - the effectiveness of this app is really up to you and the affiliate networks you already have. I had to delete it before I began bleeding money.
