We've used this app since 2015. It was set up to only look at direct Shopify store orders and ignore eBay orders, PayPal payments and other non-Shopify direct sales. All was fine until we received our June 2026 bill, which was about 30% higher than normal. Come to find out, they stopped filtering out these orders. By the time we realized what was happening, we could not cancel the orders older than 30 days. We tried 4 or 5 times to contact the support people, but they never responded. For now, we are manually canceling these orders, but I think we will just remove the app since Shopify now has their own fraud detection and it's free. 8/23/2026 Still have not heard any reply from Signifyd. I also noticed a few days ago that when a customer cancels and order, Signifiyd does not cancel it in their system, so it seems they will charge you whether or not you process the order (unless you manually cancel it).

We use Signifyd to help us prevent fraudulent orders and to get chargeback reimbursement on applicable orders. This is a great app with amazing customer support. Very prompt and informative customer support. Sometime the app does not provide detailed information on why a charge back and/or order was marked as fraud, but this is not a huge deal. Other than that, everything runs great with minimal actions on our end. I recommend this app to any company having issues with chargebacks or fraud. Our account rep Spencer is awesome!

I loved Signifyd when I started using them. Then they switched to reimbursement via credit towards your next invoice which doesn't really do anything to help. It just means you have to keep using them. Ok fine, the screening is still good. Most of my business is via repeat customers and the scams are pretty easy to identify so I decided I probably am not benefiting from my plan. I've tried reaching out to support via email for over a month now asking about plan options as I've had trouble justifying their usage. I've received zero replies. The ticket I submitted as medium priority was downgraded to low and I'll bet I won't hear back until the next billing cycle. It's going to be awkward when I have to issue a chargeback.

Wrongly turned off store syncing without our permission. Was advised it was because we didn't use the service, but upon further checking we did have it turned on and using it. Asked support to restore it and fix syncing transactions for guarantee, and they advised they did, but still not working.

Really great service. The support team is quick to respond to any inquiry. The platform itself is relatively easy to set up and has significantly helped to prevent fraud on out site. Interface is relatively simple to use. Unfortunately when you need them don't expect them to be there for you. We've been a customer of Signifyd since the app was new and have never filed for a chargeback claim reimbursement. We've used the guarantee for only orders that were concerning to us ('pay as you go' plan), but even those that were guaranteed never went to a claim so our account has been pure profit for them. We just found out that they decided to stop supporting the plan that we have been on and closed our account. They didn't send any notification that the account was going to be closed nor that it was closed, and no way to get it back without a $500 monthly minimum spend. Apparently small businesses aren't worth their time.

We have been using Signifyd for a long while now. Earlier this year, they took the initiative to contact us since we were on a really old plan and they were looking to shift everyone off. Their team is very patient and transparent with us throughout the entire process. We had to get this approved by Upper Management and everything. Their team is very knowledgeable and it shows that they work and communicate very well. After the contract was signed, their implementation teams and the Customer Success Manager took care of us from getting everything ready on the backend to implementation. We did have a fraud attack a while back and this definitely did scare us, but their app took care of the fraudsters and their team did a great job explaining everything that was going on and resolutions for any issues that come up. I highly recommend Signifyd for your fraud protection needs.

I have been using Signifyd for 4 years, they are good too much if you don't get chargebacks but if you start getting chargebacks from customers and they have to pay you then you will see the other face :( have a claim that was APPROVED on their terms on October 7 and now it is 12 days since it was approved and they did not reimburse me for the claim that they approved it for reimbursement.Wha is the point of paying them if you can't get protected when you need it?

We only use them because they are the best option in this space. They have lots of reasons why they don't pay you which we can understand. However, they have "forgot" to pay us two times already but they are very quick to take their fees out every month. We pay thousands a month in service fees but they "forget" to pay us for $80 reimbursements... But I guess that's how all insurance companies work and make money... They take your money for insurance but they "forget" to pay out on claims. *Update* If you have any customer service issues regarding payment, they send a generic email and don't bother to answer their phone calls. They will service your issue and then ask you to update your review but then 3 months, down the road, they "forget" to pay you again. This is ridiculous. You literally have to hound them to get paid.

We paid Signifyd thousands of dollars over two years and every time we had a case of fraud that they supposedly guaranteed, they turned us down and refused to reimburse us. Basically we paid them a fortune and still had just as much fraud so we lost even more money. Read the fine print very carefully because they have so many loopholes in what they actually cover they will never reimburse your chargebacks.

We have been using Signifyd for approximately 3~ years, it does exactly what it describes - provides full fraud analysis, guarantees safe transactions and rejects fraudulent ones. Initially our chargeback rate was a little high while the network was growing and learning - and in every instance we were promptly provided full reimbursement for all guaranteed orders through Signifyd. The system has gotten so good now that we receive next to no chargebacks anymore, not to mention the countless hours we've not had to spend manually reviewing every order, and of course money that we would have lost from fraudulent orders.

Total Scam! If you ever have a claim, you supply them all the info you ask for then they will never reply. No support info or phone access. I can't imagine why anybody would give this less than four stars. They do exactly what they say. I've used this app for a couple months now and it's awesome. Their in-house security check adds an additional layer of protection to high-risk orders and as long as you don't approve sales they decline they're really good about reimbursing. I've had three reimbursements already and they were paid out within 24 hours of the request. One time they asked for some additional information. That's it... As an unexpected plus they decided to challenge a chargeback with the bank and had their team handle all of the paperwork. During this challenge they STILL paid me out in full. The only caveat is that I have to return recovered money. Totally fine. I HIGHLY recommend these guys.

We invested in Signifyd over 3 years ago and have never looked back! Great customer service with a product that keeps getting better. We use the Guarnateed service on all payments and we no longer waste manual time checking fraud. If one does get through the net we're covered and we get paid back (plus the chargeback) within 3 days. I use Signifyd for fraud protection for June and it's been really reassuring! I appreciate that they will take responsibility for any orders they believe to be authentic and will flag me for the ones they find troubling. They share the details on why it appears troubling and gives me the chance to reach out to the purchaser to ensure this order is intended to be ordered in a timely fashion. The dashboard is not that hard to use and I look forward to seeing product improvements on the dashboard to make the navigation even easier in terms of locating certain orders. I do hope they'll add more features or create more criteria fields verifying these orders. The team has a great communication attitude when discussing account or need more customer support.

Apparently a customer receiving his order but signifying 'Product did not ship' is a loophole around anything Signifyd can take care. I got scammed, Signifyd did not help. 2 Thumbs down.

"Guaranteed" is a lie. Signify has been good for one thing, rejecting fraudulent orders, However, it let one slip through, and I fulfilled it trusting I would get my money back if it got a chargeback. Despite contacting signify multiple times, they will not pay me back for the order they said was safe to fulfill. This is simply because the chargeback was accepted by the bank and the area I need to screenshot can no longer be viewed. I have now lost over $400 to foreign credit card scammers, and signify has not helped one bit. Still waiting on a response after 4 days.

We haven't had any chargebacks for fraud, yet, but this app has given total peace of mind. I decided to install the app after two orders came in in one day for higher ticket items both flagged medium risk by Shopify. I was spooked to fulfill the orders, even though they looked fine to me. Signifyd takes all that away. Even when Shopify gives us the orange triangle, we have Signifyd to double check. It's great, and affordable for a new merchant like us. One thing I really love about it is you can set Shopify to only authorize transactions, and set Signifyd to capture the transaction if it passes screening. I love seeing "Signifyd captured the payment" on every order. Totally recommend.

This company is changing its rules all the time. The had a fault in their system where not all my shops were charged. They then made all the past orders ineligible for charge back so I could not claim charge back for orders that they approved as valid. They charge me every month for the service but when I receive a charge back on an order that they said was okay to ship they always have an excuse and/or a new rule on why it isn't covered. Not sure what I am paying for? Avoid this service at all costs.

This app has saved and made me money. Made me money because it gives me the confidence to send goods out that I think might be fraudulent, but turns out they aren't, and saved me money because even when my merchant provider has passed a transaction, Signifyd has flagged it as fraud!! Before I had Signifyd I had this one fraudulent order that caused an expensive chargeback. It made me really nervous about processing other orders. This app gives you total peace of mind. The point of having your business is to make money - not lose it. There were a couple of times I got a chargeback and Signifyd reimbursed me pretty quickly. HIGHLY recommended for any store owner. I don't know why anyone wouldn't use this.

BEWARE! We are a very high volume retail store + Shopify Plus Merchant, and work with quite a few applications, even during early beta stages. We have been a long time user of Signifyd, basically using their rating system to make final decisions on orders that were borderline cases. Recently we decided to try their guarantee option on some higher valued orders. Unfortunately we received a chargeback for one case that was approved + guaranteed. We followed all the guidelines and opened a reimbursement case, and this is where their true colors show. 1. 6 days after filing our case, we never received a response from their team. We sent 2 followup emails with no responses as well. 2. On the 9th day we checked the case again, and they labeled the case is ineligible because it has been past 30 days since they asked for more information. How does that make sense? We only opened the case 9 days ago. Now If you are going to use their system to just to just review information, the platform works fine, but if want to use their chargeback guarantee option, we highly recommend to stay away. This application is definitely too good to be true.

This app is a must have! Do not, I repeat, DO NOT rely on Shopify to stop fraudulent orders. If you have a chargeback without Signfyd, you should just kiss your money goodbye. I wish I had this installed when I first opened my business. I've had two chargebacks that were made before I installed this app. One thing, Signifyd does not always make the right decisions when it comes to declining coverage. I have a few customers that I know and work with, who were declined a guarantee. Also, most of my orders that come through Amazon are declined because of their email address being hidden. This is the only reason why I am giving 4 stars and not 5.

Good app and does what it says. It has an algorithm which will automatically approve or decline a transaction. There have been a couple of high ticket items that the app had declined but with a little bit of research, I submitted evidence that the order was legit (finding customer data on the web, mostly via Google and social media), I got signifyd to approve them in the end. It can sometimes take a couple of days for them to personally review the risk of an order, which is not great if you are an online retailer and quick delivery is key. That is why it gets 3/5. Algorithm gets it right 8/10 times and when you want to re-apply a declined transaction for approval, it can take a couple days. Otherwise, am happy with this app. We signed up for 1% off all transactions go to them, they are making a killing off of us. No fraudulent order has yet been claimed since we've selected this app so cannot vouch for its Chargeback promise to pay back.

This app is a complete scam, so far I've paid them $941.05 to be exact and not 1 if my chargebacks within 6 months fit into their very one sided and narrow criteria of a " Chargeback ". Fraudsters have gotten smarter and the the Most common chargeback I've experienced are " product not received " which are not covered by Signifyd.... For obvious reason... Fraudsters are bolder these days and use their own cards ship it to their own house and then tell their credit issuer they have not received the product even if you have signature required its a 50/50 chance you will lose these claims. At the end of the day Signifyd knows what it is doing by only asking for 1% of your sales because theres 1% chance any of your chargebacks will even getting covered by them. This service is worth no more that 9.99 a month as a security app you use to do your own background check on customers payments and try your luck. The whole " chargeback guarantee " is a SCAM.

Everything started perfectly working for the 1st couple of months, however when 4 chargebacks came, they payed them off correctly but the system simply started to red flagg more than 50% of my orders. When i contacted customer support they said its because the system learns from the fraud orders, Maybe it has to do that my store is in Mexico, but they did told me they were able to provide the service perfectly in my country.

We started off on Riskified, as they seemed to be the big player in the fraud insurance arena, however after about a month of using their service, we received an email saying they were terminating our service, because we sold products that violated their TOS. In fact we do not sell any products that violate their terms, and when we pointed out that they only banned guns, and actual weapons, not accessories, they pointed us to the clause where they could terminate service at any time, for any reason. We then reached out to Signifyd, and after a short conversation with Stuart, we were signed up, and have never looked back. Signifyd approves more orders than Riskified did, and in the 4 months we have been using the service, we have only received 1 chargeback, which was promptly taken care of by the Signifyd team. Before using a fraud insurance company to filter our orders, and relying only on the Shopify checks, we lost over $15,000 in just a few months due to chargebacks, we wouldnt be in business today if we didnt have Signifyd protecting us.

This is a computer program, not a real person looking at the information. When I agreed to the plan I was promised personal assistance to input the data from orders that where a couple days old and high security risk. I waited half the day for the decision but no one actually inputs data. Its a computer program, so I was told by support I had to enter the information myself. The orders I received after installing the program get entered automatically. Now its been almost a month. The program guarantees the Low Risk Only, Denied medium and high risk. Even denied guarantee the prepaid credit card payment. The website/app doesn't not work on my smart phone. Today went to look at the website and see I have 10 previous Cases but can't view them. How would know which orders are guaranteed or denied if I can't see the history? I'm cancelling this. I can do better on my own with the information I already get from shopify.

This is a must have app. We received an order with billing and shipping addresses the same and a low risk from Shopify. In the old days, we would have shipped, confident that it was a good sale. Today, we use Signifyd to avoid this. In this case, one of my employees did not realize the guarantee was still in review and shipped anyway. Signifyd came back and said the order appeared fraudulent and we quickly contacted FedEx and had the package stopped and returned to us. That would have been a loss of several thousand dollars. Not only did we avoid a loss and chargeback, but by having a record of no chargebacks helps maintain a relationship with the payment processor. I cannot understand how any merchant would not use this app. Now, if only they come up with a fraud protection app!

Update: I know there are some poor reviews just before mine. I suggest you dig deeper into the reviews before you decide since there are some very good ones that I based my decision on before I got this app. To be fair. I like their fraud detection reports since they "explain" and rate the safety of a transaction. They're much nicer than my last fraud detection app, which basically told me nothing. Their customer support is excellent. Very helpful and supportive. I have had this app for about a month and haven't had any chargebacks so I can't speak to that yet. If I ever do, I'll update my review. My thanks to Signifyd support for your quick help on everything I've asked you about.

UPDATE: Their customer service contacted me and sorted everything out, as well as promised to more accurately disclose what types of fraudulent chargebacks are covered. So I'll keep the app for now and I gave them an extra star on this review. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Honestly this app seemed too good to be true and I should have known better. Their marketing makes it seem like if you receive a chargeback on a "guaranteed" order that they will pay out no questions asked once you receive a chargeback. I found out the hard way that this isn't true. After giving them a percentage of every single order for about three months I received my first chargeback on a "guaranteed" order. The chargeback was an "85 Credit Not Processed", which as many e-commerce merchants are aware, is when the customer lies and claims that they sent back a product for a refund and never received their money back. The process of submitting paperwork to Signifyd was easy, and they even offer multiple methods of payment since Paypal refuses to work with companies in my industry. The next day I received an email stating that this type of chargeback wasn't covered. Here is the complete email: "Signifyd reimburses for chargebacks resulting from an unauthorized use of a payment instrument, also known as a fraudulent transaction. Unfortunately, we cannot reimburse this chargeback as the reason indicates a credit or refund dispute. The 'Credit Not Processed' chargeback reason usually means that the cardholder completed a return of the purchased items or cancelled the transaction, but did not receive the credit to their account. To avoid this type of chargeback, it is strongly recommended to share your return policy with the cardholder before completing the transaction. In addition, always issue the refund promptly and notify the cardholder once it has been completed. If the merchandise was not returned to you or the transaction was not cancelled, you can fight this chargeback with your processor by providing relevant information and demonstrating that the customer is not entitled to a refund. Disputing a chargeback needs to be done within the specified period in order to recover your funds. Thanks, Signifyd Claims" After taking a percentage of every single order for over three months, when it finally came time for them to uphold their end of the bargain, they refused. Not to mention the condescending nature of the email, implying that it's my fault that a scumbag customer tried to lie about returning merchandise, and that it could be prevented if I had a return policy publicly available (which I do). When I emailed them about this they completely ignored the email. I have yet to receive a response from Signifyd even acknowledging that I attempted to reach out to them. The reason for two stars instead of one star is because their fraud detection system is actually really good. It gives you a breakdown of all the info about the customer and is fairly useful when deciding whether to fulfill a questionable order. It should be noted that when scrolling through most of these reviews, a large amount of the five star reviews are from companies who are just starting out and haven't received any chargebacks yet but are wowed by all of the data on the backend. It really is good. But I have a feeling that if they get to the point where they have to actually try to get money back from Signifyd that they'll change their mind about those five stars. Bottom line: If you're looking at this service thinking that it's going to be the answer to all of your fraudulent chargeback problems, look elsewhere. They're just like any other type of insurance company in that they will make lofty promises when looking to take your money but they look for any and every reason to deny your claim when it's time to pay up. As an owner of an e-commerce company I strongly dislike overly entitled customers who attempt to spread negative reviews online, but in this case this company truly deserves the negative publicity.

I would give them 5 stars but their 4% guarantee I think is entirely to high. It shouldnt be more than 2-3%. When you have such big orders like we do it takes a huge toll and its NOT a write off. I wish it was but there is no way around that. I used them alot when I was with bigcommerce but up to recently I had to stop doing the daily every order submission just because of shopify fraud detection rules

One of the better shopify apps in my opinion. The support has been incredible and they really work with you to find a solution that works for your business. It's nice to be able to pick up the phone and speak with someone right away. From what I have seen in the 3 months we have been a member the service just gets better with new features added often. Having just recently launched an online and the fear of dealing with PayPal, I had to come up with a solution of accepting card payments, knowing which orders was legitimate, and which orders are fraudulent. Sounds easy right, as shopifys built in system detects if an order is Low, Medium or High Risk, although this feature by Shopify is handy, its not at all as accurate as it needs to be. The application makes all the decisions for you, you don't need to take risks and decide if you should fulfil and order or not. Signifyd guarantees all orders that have the green go ahead badge, if Signifyd spot fraud, which they seem to do a very good job at detecting, they will but a red badge next to the order, meaning that they won't guarantee the order for protection if you still decide to go ahead with it. Signifyd app does everything it says and more, i recommend any one accepting card payments to be using Signifyd. creplab.com

We have been using Signifyd for almost a year but just switched over to the the "submit every order for guarantee" plan because it's become painfully obvious that these guys are the best at what they do. We have extremely high average selling prices due to the nature of our business, so if it works in our case, I can't imagine a store where Signifyd doesn't bring tremendous value. You should definitely try this out ASAP because the learning curve is incredibly easy and their developers have been really responsive in making UI changes to help us understand the tool even better. If we ever switched away from Shopify, this is the only app we'd absolutely have to take with us--it's that good.

Absolutely the best 'insurance' you can have for your online store. I've been using Riskified for a long time, but they sometimes don't pay you for some of the guaranteed(approved) orders. With Signifyd, I've never had the same issue. If any problem happens, I get paid from the team the next day or so. I would definitely recommend this app to all Shopify merchants.

This app gives great peace of mind, and another layer of protection over Shopify's basic fraud meter. They offer your first "guarantee" free, and I took advantage of it last night. We're a new store (barely open a month), and we had our first "medium" on Shopify's fraud meter. I used the guarantee feature and it was approved almost instantly. The point system they use provides a lot more detail into what could be a fraudulent transaction so you can be more informed. And now that 500 transactions are free per month, you have no reason NOT to try out this app.

Lots of great data points for making a decision whether to accept or deny, and if you aren't sure submit it for insurance for a reasonable percentage of the order. I have used Cybersource's Decision Manager and Kount in the past before our site was on Shopify. Both were a pain to integrate and had user interface's that look straight out of the early 2000s when they were created. Signifyd has a nice user interface and integration with shopify is as simple as pushing a button.

Feb.16- After leaving this review Signified called me and apologized telling me they were not sure how my emails slipped through the cracks. I can understand how either tech error or human error could cause this so I have amended my rating from 1 star to 4 stars because I do like how this app seems to work. I would advise anyone interested in the app to call their toll free number if you do not get an email response just to be sure. Looks like it could be a useful app and I did install it and their logo on my site and emailed their sales dept. to be put on the bronze plan the same day I signed up (Jan 31). On Feb 4 I emailed them again because I hadn't heard back and again no reply. Received an email Feb 13 my free trial would expire the next day so I emailed again asking to be put on the free plan but still no reply. Today I was locked out of the dashboard with a message to contact them to to get reinstated. Well, I'm sorry but I guess they do not want business from someone who is only going to us the free bronze plan. Thank you for nothing. I'll go elsewhere.

With their app it takes all of the guess work out of trying to decipher what's a good transaction or not. It doesn't just give you a simple yes or no or leave you wondering. You can proceed with your business having full confidence. There's a lot of information compiled to assure that you feel safe with completing or not completing the transaction. If you sell high end merchandise or not this beats chargebacks any day. To know that my business can function safely and securely because of Signifyd is a wonderful feeling. If I were making recommendations to someone opening a shopify store, I would tell them that signifyd is the first app/service they should implement. For a fee of 1% of each sale, we get the same level of fraud protection that we were paying 8% for on ebay. That's a no-brainer. They also offer a 4% fee a la carte option where you can pick and choose the sales you are concerned about and ask them to guarantee only those. I imagine this would make sense for many shopify stores. And, again, that's only half of the fee that I pay ebay on every single sale for fraud protection! In addition, signifyd offers a ton of free* data about each sale and customer that goes well beyond what shopify and paypal offer: buyer's purchase history on other sites, names of other people/entities at delivery address, etc. Finally, the team at signifyd is excellent. When you email or call them, you get the sense that the person you're speaking to knows exactly what he or she is doing and is generally interested in helping you. A good feeling when you're dealing with something as important as fraud protection. It also feels like a big, professional company, which is a welcome change from some of the other app people I've contacted who seem to manage their shopify app as a hobby or side job. *free as long as you display their badge at the bottom of your site, which they will do for you, and actually looks good at the bottom of your webpage.

If you worry or have trouble with fraud, use Signifyd. Their information is more detailed and culled from a far larger data set than other tools (including the built-in tool on Shopify). We ship our products globally so protecting ourselves from fraud is critical.

Signifyd is very easy to install and use. It takes the guesswork out of processing 'questionable' big ticket orders. Particularly those international orders where billing address/shipping address discrepancies raise flags.
