I highly recommend this app! I needed to apply different tax rates to different products, which was quite complicated, but the app offers enough flexible options to adapt everything to my requirements. ASR is a foundational app that's essential to our store. We've pretty much used this since Day One of our business. How do we get support on weekends. I really wish we had a support number to reach a human. I cannot get my contract rates linked again after UPS upgraded their system. Advanced shipping rules is using retail rates. Can we create a rule that calculates a discount off retail rate and something notifies me by email my rates are no longer linked. This is my busiest time of the year.

We have been using this app for a while but suddenly having an issue with assigning the product to each shipping rule. We did not make any changes nor added a new app but suddenly these problems occurred so we can not update any products at the moment which is impacting the sales. I contacted via phone which never really works so contacted via customer service email to ask for help with the matter. They offered to help but still no updates and no follow-up. This is very frustrating. I understand that we are not the only client they have but this is very disappointing with the customer service and no help since the problem occurred which passed 26+ hours. PLEASE HELP US TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE WITH THE APP! UPDATE: Our problem occurred on Monday around 11:50 AM CDT so we notified the app via email. Then on Monday at 11:27 PM CDT, we received an email from them regarding the solution that might help to fix the issue but it was almost after 12 hours since the email has been sent. On Tuesday at 3:56 AM, I checked their email but the solution they offered did not work so asked for further assistance to resolve the issue. Then at 10:19 AM (Tuesday), the team offered to forward our issue to the developer. Since that email, all throughout Tuesday, I sent 4 emails in total because this was an urgent issue with our online. But, no update or no communication came through. At that point, I had no option but to leave a review because it passed more than 26+ hours since I reported the problem to the app customer service. Thankfully, my review grab the attention of the owner, he was able to communicate with me personally, explained the current situation, and helped to expedite the process. Our website shipping is heavily dependent on this app since we are dealing with complicated shipping methods. And once this caused an issue, most of the sales which are coming from out-of-town customers could not submit any orders which were very urgent matters to our small business. The owner explained why their response was delayed and apologized for the matter which I truly appreciated. With their help, we were able to fix the issue on Wednesday. They explained what caused these issues and assured us this will not happen again. However, I hope that the person who first checked my email regarding the issue could have been thoughtfully looked into the matter and escalated the problem to the developer. Thank you for all your help.

After using it for a few months, App seems to work well. We were forced into the middle-tier pay plan since our orders went above a certain limit. Only 3-stars because after 2 emails and a voice mail over 10 days of trying to get support, I have yet to get an answer back. If you are reading your reviews, please respond to support emails! A much improved way to use calculated shipping. I can assign different box sizes to different products and assign how many items can fit into 1 box. This makes calculating shipping many times more accurate than shopify's built in shipping. Only issue I had was it took a little longer to set up than I expected, and it doesn't hook into shopify's discounted shipping rates so the UPS shipping costs weren't accurate. The page wasn't very clear on that being an issue, but staff helped me work on a solution and I was able to get the rates adjusted fairly accurate. Much more accurate than shopify's built in calculator.

Have finally finished the setup process and went live with the app. Can't say enough about Molly who was there for me to understand and walk me through the steps I didn't understand. Customer Service was very responsive, the app is working the way I wanted which was applied to different product groups and we are still able to offer free shipping at a certain amount. This app has allowed us to cover more of the shipping costs by the weight of the item unlike Shopify Shipping settings and can use different shipping companies as well. Highly recommend this app.

This app is easy to use, their help is great. The app is set up for categories for shipping and does shipping charges stacking. So if more than one category is purchased by the customer then they are charged for each shipping category. This makes a huge bill for shipping that is not needed to consolidate the actual items to be shipped. Therefore a lot of high refunds are required to make the shipping charges correct. We do not get back the fees on the refunds. Overall this is way too costly to pay a Monthly premium and give away the fees that are included for the initial shipping that we do not get back when we refund to the customer.

Our stop utilizes this app to set up local ship rates for large, fragile items such as fine art and furniture while maintaining UPS generated rates for small household goods. The app allows you to set up item-specific rules as well as blended cart rules that flex based on what your customer is interested in purchasing. What I love most is that you are able to set up shipping method descriptions where you can describe in some detail what the rate entails for the customer and make sure that they exit the site having a clear, concise understanding of what comes next — eliminating follow up emails and phone calls.

We are using this app to implement shipping charges at checkout for the first time, and it has been incredibly easy to understand and work with! Not only that, but the customer service is phenomenal. In testing we were getting some unexpected rates, and they worked diligently to help understand where the error was and how to correct it. There are a few features I wish were available: the ability to duplicate rates (not clone into a different zone, but duplicate) so you can have the same rates with two different rules sets, or to avoid manually re-entering tables across zones. Also, the ability to include packaging information in table and rule based rates, instead of just in carrier rates. Finally, it would be nice to have rules based on Customer Tags. Overall though, we have been extremely pleased with ASR thus far.

It feels as if we have been looking for an app such as this one for just about forever. Some apps we have trialed are either too complicated, or show too much confusing info at the check out. We absolutely love that we can customise shipping rates so easily based on a postcode. The biggest issue with other apps is that the rates did not recognise if someone puts in "x post code" but selects a shipping option that is outside their region. With shipping costs on the rise, this app makes shipping run so much easier because once you set up an area/postage rule, if a customer's address does not correspond to the rule they will not see the postage option and vice versa. In return, this removes any doubt as to whether someone had selected a cheaper option by mistake or on purpose.

Looks like an awesome app... clean. BUT.... You have to manually select products to add them into 'product groups'. This isn't ideal when you have a lot of products. You can't automate this process by choosing type, collections, or tags. That's unfortunate. For stores with a few products, this may be ideal.

I have two locations (US and overseas). I installed this app to use blended rates with subtitles to clarify each product's shipping time when the customer purchases products from different locations. It took me a long time and a lot of trial and error to configure. When everything was set up, the app's blended rates did not show any subtitles. I reached out to support - to my surprise, here was the response: "When there are multiple locations in an order, Shopify is responsible for blending the rates, and the blended rates from the app will not be shown... if the subtitles don't match, they will just omit a subtitle." I might be crazy, but blended rates are clearly advertised in the app's captures and description. To make it work, they asked me to eliminate inventory tracking in multiple locations, which I cannot do for obvious reasons. All in all, this was a tremendous waste of time and a frustrating process. I had to change tons of things in the backend that I will need to redo now. They should not advertise things the app cannot overcome.

I needed a way to disable combined shipping rates when ordering multiple products of varying sizes and found Advanced Shipping Rules to be the best for doing this. I'd been having a tough time for days getting my shipping rates to calculate correctly given I was dropshipping using 2 different suppliers that use different shipping rates (one charged by weight, the other charged by item value). It all felt a bit complicated and overwhelming at first, especially for someone like me who is not very tech-savvy, but after things were explained to me by ASR's wonderful customer service rep, it all made sense and was very easy to use. There are a million ways in which you can use this app to set your shipping rates, the possibilities are endless. It just takes a bit of getting used to. And with the help of their fantastic customer service reps (who more than happily called me and spent the time necessary to explain everything to me in detail), it doesn't take long at all to learn how to use this app like a pro! Great app! I highly recommend it.

only reason why I am rating this app 3 stars is because the system does not account for discount codes therefore, if the customer purchases products that meets the the threshold for free shipping and then enters a discount code, the system will still offer them free shipping. Currently looking to change platforms because of this. If you're not paying attention you can end up losing a lot of money.

This app is amazing. Originally, I was using this app for just one product. Although I got help setting it up, I was barely taking advantage of everything this app can do. Jump ahead a year and the company wants to put in all sorts of crazy specific restrictions - completely different for different products, countries, etc. Not only can this app do everything I needed, but my brain had hit a wall that day and Molly went above and beyond to help me sort it all out. It seems I made everything 100x more complicated than it needed to be, and she was very patient in explaining it in a way that I could understand. The app did what it claims, but the interface was a problem for us. We were looking to ship certain items for free. While the app can accomplish this, it requires you to mark the items manually that you wish to ship for free. A simple Tag 'FreeShipping' or Collection would accomplish this, but it isn't able to use those. This app had promise, but that oversight was a big one.

This app looks like it does everything I need. Unfortunately, it is clunky to use in that it is constantly resyncing with my products such that it takes FOREVER to get to the point where I can assign products to Product Groups. For this reason, it's pretty useless. Additionally, the UI for choosing products is very limited. Each product has to be added individually as I cannot add all the products that have a certain price or are in a existing Shopify collection. It's like a version .9 product. So close but so far away.

So this is why you should take time to check out an app before you review it. I installed this 9 March 2020 and wrote the review on 11 March that I needed a solution that would allow a) shoppers to pay delivery for postal shipping, b) clients renting items to add the product and see that delivery and installation chargers would be additional and yet to be calculated, c) clients who had already gotten our rental quote with delivery, and d) customers who bought and rented items in the same basket. This app did all that. However Google Merchant is telling me I have to set up shipping fees(!) and my PPC traffic has fallen dramatically since 12 March. Not real happy.

I needed a solution at checkout to shop different times of shipping because some products will take longer to ship than others. Shopify doesn't let you edit the shipping title when you mix two products in different shipping profiles by default they have the word SHIPPING. I had to do some customization for shipping due to perishable items not being able to go ground for certain zip codes. Plus give those zip codes a discount off shipping prices as they had been added to the cost of items for "shipping included" prices. This app gave me all I needed. We used to answer delivery rate questions over the phone continuously. We sell bulk landscaping products that are heavy and not supported by traditional carriers. With advanced shipping rules, we have been able to provide flat rates at check out based on product quantity, and postal codes while using our inhouse fulfillment service. Many of our products can not be shipped together; the blended rates feature can account for this and provide the appropriate number of deliveries at checkout. This app added the flexibility that we needed, and I would highly recommend it for greater control at checkout.

After banging my head of the wall today by trying to find the appropriate app for my needs, Advanced Shipping Rules came like the light at the end of the tunnel. I believe this is the only app on the Shopify app store market that is user-friendly and easy to set up when the rates per variations are in question (in my case, some of the products have multiple variations, and each variation has a different shipping price which usually is a headache to setup). We're huge fans of advanced shipping rules. We have a pretty large catalog of over 20,000 SKUS and a rather complicated inventory management system, so finding apps that don't cause problems with our store or checkout can be a challenge. Not only that but finding a way to setup shipping for everything from pill boxes that weight an ounce or two up to protein powders or cases of drinks that weight 20-50 pounds can be a huge challenge. It took me month before I decided to commit to another app. After loosing more and more international orders because of the higher shipping prices I thought to offer them a 15$ discount if their cart reach 100$. This app saved my store!!! I am an independent artist who decided to set up a print on demand print shop due to requests for prints of my work. I am working with different POD providers and will have hundreds of variants for each image, from large-sized wall art to tiny silver bracelets. I had no idea what I was getting myself into with shipping. After creating nearly 200 products, I realized that my shipping needs were going to be very complicated. Too complicated to set up manual breaks for all the different weight and size possibilites. What I needed was a way to get the shipping rates directly from the POD providers and there is no way to do that through Shopify alone and thought I was going to have close my store because of it. Well, thanks to Brian and this app, I have a way to grab the rates from the POD providers and it all happens automatically too. If you plan on using POD providers like Pixels, Gooten, Printify, etc., and you want to maintain your GM%, then you need this app. Shopify's shipping can be drastically off from what the POD providers charge so you need a way to get that information. From my research into the various apps offered here on Shopify for shipping, this app, with its easy integration with the most popular POD providers, is the best option for your store, by a long shot. After I installed the Advanced Shipping Rules Application, I was having trouble getting the Shipping Rates to stay with the products from my special Group, once other products were added to the Shopping Cart. This app is perfect for my needs. I upgraded my Shopify plan to get calculated shipping. I downloaded a different app and after 5 months of support help, I never received calculated shipping. I downloaded Advanced Shipping Rules one evening. I had it connected to my store, products groups set up, and guess what else? Calculated shipping rates for Pixels, Printify, and Gooten. I never had to contact customer support during the setup process. No coding, no template problems, it just worked. I am not a large store, but I have 400+ products and several thousand variants. I had ASR set up in one evening. After running a bunch of test purchases with domestic and international addresses and various products, I never stumbled upon an error in rates. I flipped the off switch on my original shipping app and switched on ASR. It is more expensive than the app I was using, but I could not be more pleased that my rates are calculating correctly.

This app doesn't play well with large stores. The previous version just took the Product Vendor field and based calculations on that. The new version forces you to Sync products in its own system. It takes well over an hour to sync just 200 products and I have several thousand. If you close the app, it forgets its progress. Keep getting errors to sync a live rate which I have done like 12 times. Extremely buggy. The earlier version was much more solid.

Excellent app for automatically determining if an address is residential or commercial, and offering the appropriate rates with no customer input. Savings from this feature alone will pay for the app. We reported a minor bug that prevented a shipping option from displaying, and the developer responded quickly with a fix. An apparent limitation is that shipping methods cannot be reordered and the default method cannot be changed, but it turns out this is a limitation of the Shopify checkout page, not the Advanced Shipping Rules app. This one's a wise purchase for sure.

Wow! Best app if you have multiple vendors with crazy multiple rates. Initially I had issues with using the app, setting rules and product groups. But once I had help from Bryan (Creator/Developer) issues magically got solved. Keep in mind: you got to be a little patient (wait) to get a hold of him (coz he does it all) but once you did ... rest assured... its going to be a piece of cake. Personally, for a new startup eCommerce business I feel $29 is a big expensive. from $9 for lite version to $29 for standard. thats a huge jump (my personal opinion)

This app is a MUST for anyone who plans to use a drop shipper like Printful, Printfy, or Pixels. I personally am a very small store but I needed a solution because I have products fulfilled by Printful but have a few small items like stickers that I pack and ship myself. I had no options though Shopify's main features to combine shipping rates between the two types of products and was really stuck. Now I'll be honest. This app can do ALOT and it can be really confusing at first getting it set up. I recommend reading through their set up guide 3 or 4 times before you try and set anything up. And keep it pulled up in a tab as you're building your rules. That said, once it works, it WORKS. This literally is the sole single reason my store is able to function and I'm so thankful for it.

This app is awesome!!! What is most amazing is that it synced with our big catalog size of over 500,000 SKUs without bogging down and it updates instantly. It also allows you to do mass updates via csv import which was a must for our catalog. This is an absolute must for any store who has complicated shipping options and the pricing plans are set to where it's affordable based on your store needs and how many pricing structures you want to implement. This app solved a big issue we had to have detailed shipping values I definitely recommend this app to anyone. Any negative reviews you see is probably just based on people who don't take the time to read the requirements and implement the app correctly. All the positive reviews you see speaks for itself.

We moved from a very simple set of products in our store to a complex set (big ticket items, small items) with widely varying shipping options (free shipping, international shipping, multiple carriers). And we wanted to allow customers to mix them together in a single cart. We wouldn't have been able to do this without Advanced Shipping Rules. Questions and problems that cropped up were solved quickly and we were able to do everything we wanted to do with shipping options easily. UPDATE: We ran into some trouble recently with Fedex packages being shipped to PO Boxes. I asked Brian at Advanced Shipping Rules to come up with a solution for this issue, which was causing us a lot of headaches. A few days later, the app had been updated to prevent Fedex and UPS from showing up as options when the address is a PO Box. Quick service, and much appreciated!

I installed ASR so that I could offer products that I manually fulfill while also offering Printful products using live shipping rates. I was able to install, integrate, and set up this app in a few hours with just the user guides to help me. Everything worked smoothly until I tried to purchase the Lite Plan; apparently I had activated a feature that was only available with the Standard Plan but wasn't aware of what that feature was. I emailed Brian first thing this morning and got a response back within the hour. Brian took care of my issue and I'm back in business!

Cannot eliminate ghost products that are deleted despite syncing again and again. (That happened in the past, and i could live with it). But now, when i reinstalled, I cannot blend the rates no matter what i do. in short its broken. and i just wasted 29 usd. The broken blend function wasnt the case in the past. whatever you did to them obviously backfired in my case. And why is printful so troublesome to sync now? Uninstalled.

Great assistance when setting it up and I think the app will fit my shipping needs. Unfortunately, Shopify's own shipping solution isn't well suited if you're using customized packages for different variants of your products. ASR could solve that problem!

This is a great app. It was able to easily create our somewhat complicated shipping program where we have some products shipping free if over a certain amount and other products subject to a percentage of order value for shipping. And then we also have combinations of those products. So the app handled that with ease. Finally, we have different shipping providers and we ship from Canada to all points in North America. The service help was fantastic and Brian worked with me on the phone for forty minutes and gave me white glove service. Very pleased and all is working well and my customers have a variety of shipping options. Thanks guys.

This app and the customer service behind it have been extremely useful to our Shopify website. Retailing products that are regulated differently in different states, as well as requiring very specific shipping methods per product, per state, has been difficult finding any other app that could handle our specific needs. While it has taken a few tech support calls and email threads to setup and accomplish our custom requirements, the ASR team has been very helpful and responsive throughout the process. I would recommend this app to anyone needing custom shipping solutions beyond the scope of Shopify's native shipping parameters. What would make this a 5 star review? Some indepth video tutorials showing how to use the app. Customer Service was able to walk us thru what we needed, but some video tuts would have saved time for both parties. Thanks!
