Best Shopify analytics apps
Installing more analytics usually makes you less certain, not more. An app earns its place when it answers a question Shopify's own reporting cannot.

How to pick between them
A ranking tells you which analytics apps other merchants kept. It cannot tell you which one fits your store. These are the things that actually separate them:
- 1,300 apps, but 92% have fewer than ten reviews. Fewer than 3% of the shelf has enough history to judge.
- Data-accuracy complaints run 6.5% of all complaints here against a 1.0% platform baseline - the widest gap of any theme in any category we have measured.
- Support silence runs 0.9% against a 5.4% baseline. These vendors answer faster than any other shelf on the App Store.
- Buy one, for a question you have written down. The second tool subtracts certainty.
- Install churn is the mildest measured at -0.22% a month, which means these get installed and forgotten - and a forgotten tracking script still loads on every page.
Questions merchants ask
Which app is most trusted by larger stores?
On our reviewer data, the profit-and-LTV group clusters at the serious end: Lifetimely's median reviewer runs a store ranked around 69,000, against Microsoft Clarity's 1.09 million on four times the review count. Clarity is free, so everyone installs it - which is what a free default looks like in the numbers rather than a criticism of the tool.
Is a free analytics app good enough?
For behaviour - recordings, heatmaps, basic traffic - frequently yes. For money questions like margin after cost of goods, the free tools do not have your cost data and cannot answer.
Why do so many analytics apps have no reviews?
798 of the 1,300 have none at all. The category has a very low barrier to listing and 62% of it was published in the last eighteen months. An unreviewed listing is not necessarily bad, but it is unevidenced, and this is the shelf where that is most common.
